Now Back to the Good Part (Titania)

Merik, in disguise once again, strode through the streets of Westport on his way to the Drunken Zora. He paused a few shops away as he caught sight of himself in a window.

Curly brown hair, light tan, blue eyes...ugh I look like some sort of two-bit bard. I really need to figure out the perfect way to control how I look. he thought as he shifted his cloak and finished the trip inside.

Titania was easy enough to distinguish in the crowded bar as only a pale apparently-Gerudo can. He walked to the bar and ordered some rum, quickly downing it once it was placed before him before casually turning his attention back to the Fairy Queen. Nothing of his visible outfit would reveal him as he truly was so he figured he'd just let her wait for a few minutes.

Titania sat at a table by herself at the bar. A few guys came over and tried to strike up a conversation but she would have none of it. She was waiting for someone. Someone specific. Someone who was definitely not the curly-haired fool who just walked in. She had to restrain the urge to laugh and this man. Then he started to look at her.

Oh Goddess he's looking at me. What a foppish fool. Another time, another place, my friend.[/color] She couldn't restrain it, a single chuckle escaped her mouth. The more she looked, the funnier it was. He couldn't really be blamed for looking though, she did look amazing in this outfit.

Merik on the other hand was able to hold back his laughter as Titania looked back at him. He enjoyed the game for a few more minutes before deciding to take it to the next level. He had actually listened to his voice when he ordered his drink and it was different enough that she probably wouldn't realize it at first. And so he stood and walked over to her with a slightly shy expression upon his face.

"I'm sorry to disturb you m'lady...it's just...are you truly a Gerudo? Only I've never met one before, and I heard that they were the most beautiful women in Hyrule...not saying that you aren't beautiful of course...but I heard they never leave the desert and their skin is dark as the night...are you the Queen of the Gerudo? I mean is that why you're lighter skinned than a Gerudo is supposed to be?" he rambled on, tripping over his words occasionally as he enjoyed the little trick he was playing.

Titania looked down and shook her head as he approached the table and sat down. Part of her just wanted to tell him to wait in line but she had to hear this one out.

As she listened, she began to realize this man sort of crazy. And partly inept.

"Listen hun, not all Gerudo are athletic, tan, and beautiful. There are a few light-skinned Gerudo out there, it comes with all the gene-mixing, or something like that, I don't actually know why it happens. Anyway, I'm not the Queen of the Gerudo, I'm not even a regular Gerudo. While the Gerudo may be beautiful, they're not me. I'm just wearing the outfit because I look positively amazing in it. Now if you'll excuse my bluntness, I'm waiting for a special someone, so run along." She made the motion for him to shoo and leave the chair open. She couldn't be caught talking to another man when HE walked in.

Merik forced a look of disheartenment as she gave him the brush-off for, unbeknownst to her, himself.

Oh...of course...how rude of me...my apologies m'lady...I'll just leave you alone to await your 'special someone'." he said quietly as he walked back to the bar and ordered two more drinks.

These two he took more time with as he watched her out of the corner of his eye. After a glass and a half, he took the rest of his drink and returned to her table.

"Well it would appear that your special someone has stood you up m'lady." he said, sounding a bit more confident but making sure to slur a little to point out the astounding abilities of alcohol. "So what do you say you and I go someplace a bit quieter and get to know each other a lot better?"

Titania couldn't help but notice she was still being watched. But she promised she would wait, and wait she did. Of course he had to give certain figures the slip, it would explain why he's late.

After a while the man came back and asked her someplace a bit quieter. She couldn't help but feel flattered. "Look, hun, normally I would take someone up on an offer like that, but this isn't about just a good time. These are diplomatic negotiations. You see, we're both very important people, and quite frankly I just don't have time for you right now. Maybe another time I'll take you up on that offer, okay." She gave him a nice smile, but once again motioned for him to shoo. He was distinct, but simply not what she was looking for.

"A little arrogant aren't you? Just assuming there will be 'another time' like that, you might want to work on that before someone shatters that ego of yours." Merik said with a laugh as he downed the last of his drink. "Barkeep, another drink for myself and one of my 'very important' friend here!"

Once the drinks were brought he quickly set into his, finally starting to feel the alcohol kick in.

Finally, three glasses to pull off one Dragon's Breath...

I wonder if she's going to figure it out or if I'm going to have to tell her myself...

Titania shrugged. She was never one to turn down a free drink. It was a nice gesture.

"It's not arrogance. I know that I simply am that beautiful. You were willing to come talk to me and invite me to someplace quieter and you've never even met me before." He was probably going to have to drop bigger hints if she was going to figure out who he really was.

"You're really not going to give up on this are you?"

"Of course can you truly say that we have never met? Perhaps we were childhood lovers long ago and far away? Merik asked with a quizzical smile as he watched her drink.

"I've never been one to give up easily and I'm certain that I'm more than a match for your friend if he actually shows his face...although perhaps it isn't a man...the Gerudo are all women and your clothing had to come from somewhere..." he made a nice show that he was putting it all together even though he was just saying things as they came to mind. "I suppose it makes sense that's why you're able to resist my irresistible charms."

Titania looked at her drink. She wasn't sure if anything was put in it. He did seem that kind of type.

"If we were childhood lovers long ago, you wouldn't look nearly as ridiculous. I didn't know any curlies until I was at least 18." She stopped for a moment as he let one thing slip that she took note of.

"Strange, I don't remember ever telling you that I was waiting for a Gerudo." Now she took a sip of her drink, challenging her new idea. "So either you've been watching me for far too long or" she leaned in closer to him "or your magic needs a tune-up."

"I never said you were waiting for a Gerudo, I simply implied it by the fact that you are wearing an outfit generally attributed to the Gerudo and almost no others. Though you did acknowledge the fact with your response. As for watching you, I think you've done far more watching of me than I you." Merik replied with a grin as she finally took to her drink.

"And my magic works just fine, MY disguise didn't drop within a few seconds of entering the room now did it?" he retorted, his voice returning to normal though his appearance remained as it was. "I think your magic needs more of a tune-up than mine does."

Titania looked like she was going to explode. She wanted to be furious with him, but it was just so funny. Instead of getting mad, she burst out laughing. People looked over, but didn't really care much. She already shooed quite a few of them away.

"You could not look any more ridiculous with that disguise." She leaned in again towards him, downing the rest of her drink, and letting her assets show more. "Please, please tell me you're not going to bed with that. I'll be laughing the whole time. And as for my magic, it worked fine, I just wasn't expecting it to dissipate as quickly as it did. It wasn't my fault, I didn't cast the spell." She sat back down, looking at her empty glass.

"The disguise will last as long as I need; which based on how quickly you drained your glass I'm sure won't be for much longer." Merik said with a laugh as he rose and offered her his hand.

"I meant what I said earlier about not knowing if there will be a next time though; enjoy this as much as you can because, unless there is a big change in the Fortress, this is going to be the last time we can do this." he added, suddenly serious once more as only he could jump moods so easily.

Titania took a deep sigh. This was atypical of her, so often was she just one and done. The fact that she came back for more was a telling sign. She pouted briefly before finally taking his hand with a forced smile.

"Well it's fun while it lasted. I'll take what I can now and maybe one day we'll have excitement once again. I'll keep the outfit" she licked her lips and smiled, leaning up to his ear "just in case." She wanted it even more now that she knew it was forbidden. Forbidden fruit always tastes better, a fact known all too well to Titania.

"Perhaps one day we will have the chance to negotiate some more." Merik agreed with Titania as he brought her hand to his lips. "But for today, I believe you said you'd have a room prepared?"

It wasn't time to worry about the future just yet...

Titania took the lead from Merik. Taking his hand in hers, she led him down the hallway to the rented room. It wasn't much. A table, a chair, a bed for two. "Very rarely do I come back for seconds. You should consider yourself lucky."

She walked in first, stretching out. "Aah, simple. I like that when I'm away from the palace. We keep things so fancy there, and now I get to get away again." She looked to him and winked, hands on her hips.

"Oh I've always considered myself lucky Titania." Merik replied with a smirk, she might assume he was simply referring to her comment but he had a lot of history with this particular room.

Luck that this was the only room in the Drunken Zora with a bed for two.

Luck that kept him and T.R. from killing each other the first time they met here.

Luck that the floor creaked three steps from the bed when an assassin tried to kill him in a drunken sleep.

Luck that the bed had survived this long despite some very interesting nights from himself and, on occasion, his companions.

And now it was lucky that the Fairy Queen had come back for seconds, technically thirds if he counted the botched encounter at the Fortress.

"We like things nice and simple here in the Zora, makes it easier to avoid too much attachment." he said almost a little sadly because he did enjoy his time with her as she clearly did as well.

Once they were in he closed and locked the door, his appearance shifting back to normal as he turned to face her.

"Now, shall we begin with opening remarks or just jump straight into negotiation?" he asked as he walked over to her and slid an arm around her waist.

[ooc: funny fact, Jack Sparrow came on my music player again as I was about halfway through this]

Titania let out a sigh of relief as he finally shifted back to the real Merik, the one she came here for. She waited for him to approach, putting his arm around her waist was the start of the real action tonight.

"I do have a couple of opening remarks as it turns out." Having said that, she slapped him right across the face, glaring at him sternly, but jokingly. "That's for playing me like a fool with your foppish idiot look." Afterward, her glare turned to a smirk as she jumped up into his arms, assuming he caught her and didn't make her have to use her wings, and kissed him, her arms meeting around his neck. After she slowly broke it off, she smirked at him. "I don't know what that one was for, but it felt good."

Merik did nothing when she slapped him, it wasn't the first time it had happened and probably wouldn't be the last, though he did laugh in response to her words.

"You tried very hard to get me to leave you alone, I bet you're glad I didn't oblige you." he said, seconds before snapping into gear and catching her as she jumped to kiss him. "Just a taste of all the good things to come."

Titania was in Merik's arms. She liked it this way, he was very strong. It was comforting to her. She felt safe when he was around. Maybe it was because of his strength, maybe it was his power, maybe it was the fact that he reversed a kill order that was issued at her. Either way, she liked having him around her.

She burrowed her face into his chest and sighed, getting comfortable. "Let's hope the good things can come even after today. But let's worry about that when I'm finished with you."
