Flowers. Grass. Wide, open field. It is not hot. It is not cold. I am not in any immediate danger.

Slaughter, feeling a bit better from her encounter with the young boy who generously gave her something to eat, decided to continue her journey past the castle town and further into Hyrule. It appeared that she had now stumbled into a spacious field of grass-- not the worst thing she could have run into considering the ordeals she had been through thus far. It was calming; it was nice to be able to relax.

Unable to help herself, Slaughter quickly dropped to the ground and wrapped her arms tightly around her knees. She was alive, whatever that was worth, so she had to keep going.

She had to keep trying to outrun the demons that plagued her, whether she had any help or not.

Titania seemed to be in a joyous mood. She met a great guy, had a fun conversation, learned a few things about herself and some other races. However, it was time to move on.

Gallivanting through Hyrule always made the poor fairy miss the Sacred Grove. It was her home, after all, and she could only go so long without any contact with it. She was queen, after all.

However, something caught her eye on the way back, through the wide fields of grass and love, was a lost Oocca, with her arms around her knees, evidently upset. Well, who better than Titania to help cheer a girl up.

Flying towards Slaughter, she landed in a seated position next to the girl. Smiling, she turned her head to look at her. "Hello" was all she said, saving the rest of her introduction for when the girl responded. That way she could gauge reactions and know what to say.

"H-hi!" Slaughter reflexively responded, lifting her head up to look at her new company. She hadn't been expecting to encounter others in this field, but then again she had never been here. She wasn't even sure what this field was used for. Perhaps it was used for recreation of some sort and others visited frequently.

Upon first sight, Slaughter was initially attracted to the female's wings; it appeared that this woman was a creature that she had never laid eyes on before. Her wings didn't look quite the same as those of Slaughter's mother, the shape and texture varied greatly. She had half a mind to blatantly spurt out, 'What are you?', but decided against it. Instead she just stayed quiet, not really sure how to approach the situation. This strange female had suddenly drawn close to her and Slaughter wondered what it is that she was looking for. A friendly conversation? Directions? Perhaps to barter.

"Is there something I can help you with?" she asked, softly twirling her index finger around a stray blade of grass by her right foot.

It didn't take much for Titania to realize that the girl wasn't exactly in the best of moods. Perhaps Titania felt obligated to try and cheer her up. She didn't want to make the girl any worse by being too cheerful, but she didn't want to just leave her to her own devices.

"No, I don't need anything right now. I'm just on my way back home when I saw you. You seemed like you needed a hug, so I came over to see if everything was ok. So I guess I should be the one asking that question." She giggled and laid down on her stomach, face looking up at the seated Slaughter.

"By the way, my name is Titania. What about you, pretty little Oocca?"

[Slaughter]

Slaughter's face immediately flushed red.

...Needed a hug?
P-pretty little Oocca?

"Uh--m-my name is S-slaughter," the petite little blonde stammered, flummoxed and dazed by the way this perfect stranger was treating her. It was slightly overwhelming, Slaughter was sure she had not encountered anybody quite so friendly in all of her travels! Though she had to admit, she really could use another's warm embrace right about now. It had been so long since she had the platonic luxury of one's arms wrapped around her body. Just to show that they cared even one iota about her.

She opened her mouth to speak once more and still, the question of, 'What exactly are you?' lingered in the back of her throat, but again she resisted. "It's nice to meet you, Titania," she said softly, letting her eyes wander up and down the other's form, trying to figure out just what this creature was. She was in a geographic area where many creatures roamed, so anything could be a possibility. She had heard stories of many different kinds of beings here, but could not seem to pinpoint what this one was. She was sure she had never met another like her.

"What brings you to this open space?" She inquired, as her eyelids touched base with one another, lingering for longer than a few seconds.

Titania raised an eyebrow as she was a bit taken aback by the name of the oocca girl. She seemed pretty embarrassed about something, but Titania was used to embarrassing people, in many different ways.

"Slaughter? That seems an odd name for you. You don't really seem like one who would slaughter at all. With a smile, you would appear bright and cheery." Something was bothering this girl, Titania could tell. And in that, Titania felt sympathy.

"Well, my original reason was because this is the fastest way home. I've been away a few days and if I'm gone too long people will worry. But I think they can wait a bit longer, you look like you need a friend." Titania giggled and contracted her wings before rolling on the ground until she was in contact with Slaughter's legs. She looked up again and winked at the girl, letting her make the next move.

[Slaughter]

"It's my surname," Slaughter said in almost a whisper. "I don't go by my first name."

Slaughter's delicate features contorted into a slight frown upon hearing Titania's next comment. It was true. Slaughter had never killed anybody, however, she was out in a brand new world all by herself. And if Slaughter had to, well, slaughter, she supposed she was going to have to in order to ensure her survival.

Slaughter felt a strange sensation upon making contact with another creature. She felt her legs begin to tingle, and it was a sad situation, really. When a young girl lacked affection so that her body began to physically yearn for it. It had been so long since Slaughter had such a friend.

"Pardon me if I seem very brash, but you do come off as very kind person . . . erm, you said you were on your way home. What is home? I don't believe I have ever seen one of your kind before."

Titania laughed. "Yeah, I try to be kind to others. When you're around people as often as I am, people tend to show their kind sides. When I see someone in distress, I feel obligated to help." She reached out a hand and touched Slaughter on the cheek. "When I saw you in Hyrule Field, just sitting there like a lovely oocca ball, I knew I had to help you feel better. I don't know if it's a reflex or a love for helping people, I just felt compelled here. She then spontaneously jumped up and hugged Slaughter, pulling her in close and smiling.

"If you need anything Slaughter, don't hesitate to ask."

[Slaughter]

How very noble, Slaughter thought. I didn't think there were people like that still around these days . . .
Once upon a time, she too wanted nothing more than that very ideal-- just to try and make others happy and help them if they needed. However, things quickly changed when she realized that the morals and laws created by others left very little room for those ideals. The people whom Slaughter tried to help and befriend only betrayed her. Soon her optimistic goals turned into nothing more than brittle cynicism. This wasn't something she bragged about, however, and it was refreshing to find somebody who lived their life in the fashion that Slaughter could only dream of.

When Titania wrapped her arms around Slaughter, the tiny blonde belle could feel herself becoming rigid and terse. She felt her hands freeze up for a fleeting moment before the neural circuits in her brain finally cued her to relax and to wrap her own arms around the fairy's form.

It felt warm, the weight of another's body pressing up against hers and the smell of the female scent rushing into Slaughters nostrils made Slaughter feel overwhelmed once again.

Pathetic. I'm so pathetic!

She could feel the tears crawling up beneath her lower eyelids, threatening to push through like a flood through a dam, and she winced to try to keep them at bay.

"Thank you, Titania."

As Slaughter's arms slipped off of the other's warm frame, she felt a strange sense of calm washing over her. She might be able to make a new friend yet!

"I'm trying to find the City in the Sky. Have you heard of it?"

[titania]

Titania knew she did a good thing, making Slaughter feel better. Feeling her hands wrap around her lithe frame and comforting the poor girl even made Titania feel better.

"You're welcome, Slaughter. Anytime you need a hug, a friend, you just want to see me, let one of the fairies know. The message will reach me eventually."

Titania allowed Slaughter to be released from the hug, but she still remained close, not wanting to make Slaughter feel unwanted, or that the hug was simply out of pity. The hug was genuine, as was the rest of her.

"The City in the Sky? You've never been? Oh, you must have been raised on land, away from your people. You poor thing you. I've been up a few times myself, the best way is to travel the trajectory of the large cannon at Lake Hylia." Titania found herself drawn to the winged wonder. Granted, she was drawn to just about everyone, but that was more her attitude towards people, wanting to help and always seeing their good sides.

[Slaughter]

"I am only half," Slaughter said, surprised by her lack of defense, and that she was divulging so much personal information to a stranger. Titania's demeanor coud have been nothing more than an act, a trap.
"I am on a seemingly destination-less journey, and I'd like to stop by the place-- I dunno-- to soul search or some stupid schite."

Slaughter fidgeted slightly in her spot on the wild grass, her body still recovering from the momentary contact the other gave her. It felt like a gift to be cared about by others. What a silly girl she was, to have all her walls so easily brought down and to crumble so quickly under another's pretense of genuine kindness.

"I-it would appear I've reached somewhat of a rock bottom of my life right now," she stuttered in between nervous giggles; she was just sure the pain was smeared all over her visage despite how much she wished to hide it from outside eyes.

Slaughter didn't know which direction to go, where to even begin. She was nothing more than a wanderer, trying to find some meaning in her life with nothing more than a whim and a prayer.

"I am just trying to figure things out."

Titania stood up and looked down at Slaughter. She had some sort of strange past that wasn't worth elaborating on. Doing so would bring only more pain and suffering, and that was bad.

Titania reached out a hand to Slaughter, to help her stand up. "When you've hit rock bottom, there's nowhere you can go but up. Don't try and deny the pain, it's on your face. I don't need nor want to know what's happened to you before now, what is important to me is how you are moving forward. Sadness doesn't suit your face at all. So come on, stand up. You're not going to get anywhere sitting here." If Slaughter didn't take her hand, Titania would pick her up herself to get her on her feet. That had to be the first step.

Perhaps much to the dismay of the fairy queen, Slaughter did take her hand to help herself up. The woman seemed to radiate inspiration, and Slaughter did feel better in her presence.

"You're right. And enough talk about me! What are you up to, Titania? Besides going home, I mean." she added with a giggle. Though somewhat of a personal inquiry, Slaughter was curious about her new acquaintance. She had mentioned letting the fairies know if Slaughter wanted to get in contact with her. So, she was a fairy. Slaughter scratched the back of her memory, wondering if she had ever even heard of such a creature. Her mind immediately produced a template for the prototype of what a fairy was to look like, based on Titania's appearance. They must be petite creatures, with wings, however not feathered wings like the Oocca. Their wings resembled that of an insect. They were beautiful in their own right.

It was odd how quickly Slaughter had shed her sadness. Sometimes a simple kind gesture from even a complete stranger really could make significant changes. Slaughter would have to store that away somewhere and remember it later.

Titania was happy that Slaughter got up on her own decision, but with her touchy feely nature she almost wanted to lift Slaughter off the ground.

Titania laughed at the question. She was never shy about being queen, and she wondered how this girl of all people would take that fact. Well, no matter, she'd have to piece her story together through hinting, like everyone else.

"Well, as I've mentioned, I'm going back home. Every so often I get bored and decide to leave. With all the politicking that goes on, I just need to relax. It's not that they don't miss me, if I could I would stay all the time. Thing is, I'm just a little too adventurous for that. I like to travel around Hyrule, helping people out when I can, and trying to get a feel of what the big news is. The Sacred Grove isn't what you would call guest-friendly." She then casually put her arm around Slaughter and stood next to her, staring at the sky.

"I think, most of all, the trees need me. I really do like them a lot."

[Slaughter]

Slaughter smiled as the sudden realization hit her. However, she didn't react as one would have thought she might have, she simply let out a little chuckle and said:
"You're an important person, aren't you?"

Instead of intimidating Slaughter, though, this made Titania seem even more endearing to her. Not only was she a sweet, kindhearted individual, but her apparent the fact that she was in a very high place had not corrupted her in the very least. Slaughter didn't even think that was possible. After all, absolute power corrupts absolutely, or so the saying went.

Once again a warm limb of Titania's closed the gap between herself and Slaughter. She didn't feel as overwhelmed as the first few times, now becoming accustomed to the other female's apparent affectionate nature.

Titania chuckled back. She removed her arm from Slaughter and moved so they were facing each other. She gave a lighthearted bow and smiled.

"I wouldn't say I'm that important. The people love me because of my accessibility and natural charm, but the courts and I don't see eye to eye. They say I don't act enough like royalty, and should remain with them streamlining their decision making. But everyone knows that they can make their own decisions, and that they know what's best." Titania paused for a moment, remembering the one thing they didn't agree on.

"Although, when I'm gone, the forest is less accessible to outsiders. I like to keep the grove open for people to relax during a long journey, but the court thinks that will only been strife and pain." That was her goal as queen, to open up the grove to everyone, within limitations. She did want to protect her people from harm, which did come from outside most of the time.

Titania leaned in closer towards Slaughter, eyes seemingly aglow. "You ok? Some people are often afraid or concerned about conversation with the fairy queen."

[Slaughter]

"What is there to be afraid of?" Slaughter asked with a chuckle. The question was rhetorical; Slaughter didn't really want to know the answer to it.

She wondered what fairies must be like, and was quite tempted to visit this land Titania spoke of herself. So what if she took a little detour from the City in the Sky? She wasn't in any particular hurry. After all, she didn't anticipate a warm welcome once arriving or anything. She was just certain nobody would be there to greet her, so she might as well enjoy herself on the way!

Slaughter's voluminous blonde locks bounced up and down in the soft breeze. How long she had gone without remembering to appreciate the simple beauties in life, such as a warm gust of wind kissing your face or a ray of sunshine peeking out of the clouds to say hello?

"What are fairies like?"

[titania]

Titania watched Slaughter's hair waft in the breeze, noticing her auburn hair was doing the same. "You really do have nice hair. I like good hair." She smiled and gave Slaughter another quick hug, just because she could. A spontaneous act like the ones she was known for.

"Fairies? We're not much different from anyone else, other than the wings and the natural beauty that we possess. And the inherent magical powers granted to us by the forest. Okay, maybe we're different, but we're not all inaccessible. I actually prefer to be with other races." She put a hand over her mouth and giggled. This girl was something else. She must have been really sheltered as a child. Although some would consider a visit from a fairy a gift, almost everyone knew of fairies.

[Slaughter]

Slaughter smiled; this girl was just showering her in compliments! She certainly must have understood the way human females worked. Or at least half human, anyway.

The girl bashfully began to tug at one of her platinum blonde locks as if to assure Titania that her compliment had been duly noted.
"Thanks."

So the female liked to be with other races more? Slaughter didn't exactly know much about many other creatures other than humans like her father and winged creatures like her mother. And now this fairy type too. Oh! She had also met a ghost once.

"And so all you want is to protect this forest of yours?" Slaughter felt a vague tingling sensation begin to bathe her insides once more. It must be nice to have something to protect, and to reign over. All Slaughter had was a dingy old sword given to her by her father. She had no real friends or companions since she set off from home, and not even a real destination!

[titania]

Titania clapped her hands and rubbed them together before taking a moment to fix her hair in the wind. It was getting in her face, which was troublesome.

"I wouldn't say I only want to protect the forest, and it certainly isn't my forest. I want to help it, as well as other people. Protecting the forest may stunt its growth, and the forest does greatly enjoy growing. However, the forest is much better at taking care of itself than some people. If the forest is injured, it heals itself, while many people may die from their wounds. I also greatly enjoy the company of people as well, regardless of race." She stopped herself and took a deep breath.

"Sorry, I'm rambling again. You have a destination do you not? Unless..." Titania took Slaughter into another soft hug and smiled, whispering into her ear "unless you want to stay a little longer."

She decided to let Slaughter interpret that as she wished.
