DHoTL gets lost in transdimensional abyss.

Mystery Man/Sage Murderer/Psycho Shadow Tuxedo Man AKA Dark Link (MM/SM/PSTMAKADL) becomes DHoTL.
DHoTL is summoned by Mystery Rainbow-texted, Hydra-headed Moonshadow Monster Lurkers (MR-T,H-HMsML) to cause general evil havoc, and then ?, and then profit.

I'm pretty sure it's Ganon. Why else would they be using a bunch of previous major villains?

Also, Agahnim will make an appearance, you can count on it.

But how could he have possibly escaped banishment?

Depends on what you're following, some mediums have had Agahnim as a separate being that was corrupted by promises from Ganon

Agahnim is generally accepted as being a minion of Ganon. Not of being ganon himself.

And who says Vaati has to know who he was serving?

One possibility is that it goes Ganon (Twilight Realm) --> (Mystery Overseer) --> Various Minions.

Though I would personally enjoy it being Ganondorf as I have no problem if someone other than Link by himself fights against the guy I highly doubt it will be.

The description of a "catastrophe the likes of which we've never seen but have always known of" mentioned in the Defying Gravity thread seems to me like that old trick of "Remember how evil everything was in canon before now? Well our new evil is MUCH more impressive!" tactic of trying to make people be impressed with original villains in canons settings, rather than letting those threats stand on their own merits once exposed. That can only be my assumption, of course, since I'm not privy to the plot details.

In my opinion having Onox and Veran and Vaati and Twinrova just be there and be themselves and BE threatening was a much more interesting way of making me care about whoever is behind them, but it still doesn't feel like it's going to be Ganondorf for the reason above. I doubt he'd be a lackey like them either because one thing I'm not OK with is if Ganondorf is playing second-fiddle to another villain for the entire plot. Better for him to not be here at all than for that to happen.

It could be an original villain made by the staff with the intentions of having Ganondorf play the part of the puppet master type of deal. Twilight Princess did the same idea with Zant and LTTP with Agahnim. The bosses for now may just serve as something for people to fight while they get everything ready.

There are going to be big boss battles, the landscape of Hyrule is going to change throughout the plot (obviously since the Twilight Realm is already opening up to the rest of Hyrule).

Does Hydra mean anything or is it just a cool name?

If it means something, it already makes sense. Look at all the heads (bosses) of the dragon already revealed! There's something about a moonshadow in that thread that sounded pretty cool. Which, upon remembering that, makes me think original villain might be the way to go. Though, I really hope Ganondorf shows up and defeats him to really show the world what the Triforce of Power is all about.


BONUS POINTS:

Zelda has the triforce of wisdom, according to the abilities on her character sheet, but there's no affirmation where the other two triforce shards are at. There's also no mention so far of the fused shadow and the elder spirits, so I'm iffy on whether we have Interlopers to think of. Where do you guys think the Triforces of Courage and Power are at?

Ganon probably doesn't have power, seeing as how he actually got sealed, and what kept him from that in the game was the very power he held.

Link, also, probably doesn't have courage, considering how important it is to staff to level the playing field.

I think Link and Ganondorf both have their Triforce pieces respectively just because its canon. Be strange if they didn't. But this doesn't mean that they couldn't lose their Triforce marks sometime later on.

Thats how I would do it anyways if I made a plot.
