APPEARANCE,

Youkai Stands at an average 6 ft. He has brown eyes and his hair is black and medium length, reaching down to about his chin. On his left forearm he has a small tattoo of his families sigil which is the side view of the head of a howeling wolf with a full moon behind it.

While he is off duty Youkai prefers to wear is regular navy blue attire with leather shoulder guards seen below. When he is on duty he his look changes drastically. He wears a custome set of Hylian Knight armour, with a navy blue robe underneith. His cape is about the same colour as the robe beneither it but has his families sigil on the center of it. The colours of the sigil shows the outline of a wolf in black howling to a white moon behind it. The cape he wears is off to the side slightly to provide access to The Howling Fang(see weapons below). His armour is a silver steel, trimmed with small amount of decorative wolf fur to remind people of his background.

WEAPONS,

The Howling Fang
The Howling Fang is actually made up of six smaller swords that combine to create a larger and much more heavier sword. The six swords include:

A main sword that has a mechanism in that allows it to switch from a thin one handed sword to a slightly thicker two handed sword.

A light slim hollowed out sword that attaches to the front of the main sword form the edge of the combined sword they form.

Two double sided blades which have a jagged edge on one side and straight edge on the other. The two swords form the back of the combined sword.

Two single edged daggers that feature a gear to rotate the handle and allow them to be easily mounted on the sides of the combined sword

ABILITIES,

Wind Manipulation

Youkai was born with the ability to manipulate the air around him. The amount of air he can control, and the range at which he can control it, varies depending on how much effort he puts into it. Controlling the air can take a lot out of him, and the more he does with this power, the more damaging it can be to his body. In different situations, Youkai could draw even more strength than normal. For example if someone he cared about was in serious trouble, than there is really no telling how strong he could get. He quite possible could create massive Hurricanes with such power, however his body or mind wouldn't be able to handle so much control and he could heavily damage himself in the process. He can use this ability to carry himself through the air and fly as well as lift objects like his swords.

It is rumored among Denwind's elders that if Youkai were to attempt to control to much at a time, or create a much to powerful wind to control, then it is believed that he might lose himself to the Wolf spirit within him, allowing it full control of its body and full control of the wind element. A dangerous thing without knowing the Spirit's intentions. However this is speculation among elders.(and quite possibly true)

Magic Slot 1: Razor Wind
With his control over the air element Youkai can create multiple blades of sharply condensed air about 1 ft in diameter that can slice through objects and be used as projectiles against his enemies. Think shurukens made of wind. They can travel up to about 20 ft before they start to loose their edge. The farther they travel the less dangerous they become until they eventually disappear.

He can create up to 5 at a time and the ability has a 1 post cool down. For every shuruken he creates in one post that number is added to the cooldown. For example if he makes 2 than there is a 2 post cooldown.

Magic Slot 2: Air Compression
Since he can control the air, then it makes sense that he can also compress it. Youkai is able to compress a large amount of air around objects within just a few feet of him. Depending on how he compresses the air he can use this ability for offense or defense. When using it as a defensive option the compressed air is wrapped tightly around its target in a way that it slightly deflects the opposing attack so that it decreases the force of the impact. When using it for offense, he compresses it in a way where it is constantly moving at a high pressure normally focused in a certain area. His sword, for example, is a common object he uses this ability on. He would focus his compression on the edges of the blade giving it a slightly sharper edge.

The range of this ability is very short. Youkai needs to be close to the object in order to keep his focus on the compression. Anything more than a few feet from him will lose its compression quickly in a slight burst of air (as it moves out after he looses control). Another downfall is that this takes a lot more effort and focus to control this ability. He is controlling a lot of air in order to maintain this ability and the longer he uses it the more damage he will start to do to himself over time. Maintaining this ability CONSTANTLY for 10 posts could cause him to collapse from exhaustion.

Has a 5 post cool down. Could be canceled if Youkai is hit and looses focus. In order to show the fateague effect that this abiliy has. Once Youkai has been maintaining this ability for 4 posts, on his 5th post and every post after that, the cooldown increases by one. So after maintaining the ability for 6 posts, the cool down becomes 7 posts.

LT Slot: Holy Flare
During his early years as a Knight, one of the older veterans taught Youkai this long lost art. Holy Flare launches a fireball from Youkai’s hand, exploding on impact and creating a light so brilliant that all enemies who are looking to wards the explosion and are not wearing protection against it are blinded for a turn Those within 10 ft of the explosion also receive damage depending on how far away they are(RPers discretion). This has a 2 post cooldown.

With his ability to control air, Youkai is able to feed the flame of this ability with his Aeromancy to create a significantly larger explosion large enough to take down a large stone wall. However doing so increases the cooldown of Holy Flair to 10 posts.

HISTORY,

Youkai is the 2nd born of a noble family who holds lordship of a town in Northern Hyrule. Not far from the base of the Snow Peak Mountains, Denwind is an average sized town tasked with recruiting for the Northern guard, A militia of Human's who defend Hyrule's northern borders until the Royal family can send the Hylian Knights in the event of an invasion by other kingdoms. The people here often share their lives with the locel wolves who wander Northern Hyrule. That have adopted both the Wolf's peronality traits into their own lives, as well as many wolves themselves as loyal companions(not pets). The Northern guard even go as far as to allowing wolves to help out in a fight.

Lord Elden Ookami, Youkai's father, rules over this town with a peacefull, yet sturn, presence. A trait which often translates to how he raises his kids. Both he and his wife, Aya, Have happily raised their children based on many of the good qualities of the wolf. It is believed by many around town and in Youkai's bloodline that those who are born with Ookami blood, also cary the spirit of the wolf.

However not everything is perfect in this family. Youkai does not share the same blood as his mother Aya. He is the bastard child of his father, and a Hylian who according to his father lives in Castle town. Although his mother at first despided Youkai for this, she eventually accepted that it was not his fault. However she is constantly reminded that he is not her son. Sharing the blood of a race who's magic was powerful, the spirit of the wolf in the Ookami bloodline finally shows itself. Youkai was born with the gift of manipulating the air around him, though no one realized it until he was about 6 years old.

It took him a few years to master his talent. With no one around to help teach him, except for a couple of the town elders who THOUGHT they knew what they were talking about, Youkai had to learn on his own, which thankfully was a lot easier than one would expect. The way the wind would just move how he wanted it to around him was sometimes frightening, and empowering at the same time. He was 9 when he finally decided that he had mastered his talent. He had become powerful enough with it that he was able to lift himself and fly. However the range in which he could control the air around him was only a few feet at the time. It was something he would improve on in the years to come.

At the age of 15 he had finally had enough and decided it was time to meet his birth mother. His father understood, and revealed his mothers name to him as Kallen Shikyo. He allowed him to travel to Castle town in order for him to find his closure. After many long months of searching, answer seeking, and dissapointment. Youkai had learned that his mother was a healer in the Hylian knights and had lost her life in battle. Feeling empty and without closure, Youkai seeked out the head of the Hylian Knights Azler Wilder. He was easily granted an audience with the Knight when his identity as Kallen's son was announced. However, all Sir Wilder was able to tell him was that his mother was a great knight and one of their greatest healers. Appearently she was a close family friend to the Royal family and that he would probably be able to find out more by talking with them.


Sir Wilder agreed to allow the young hybrid an audience with Princess Zelda, and her family. They expressed their condolences to him, and invited him to stay with them as their guest until he headed back out to Denwind. For the first couple of weeks he was very nervous around them. Although he was a Noble himself, he felt like he was often over staying his welcome. Luckily for him, the Royal family of Hyrule did not match the stereo type of typical royalty and welcomed him as their own. Part of that was probably the fact that his birth mother held a high rank and was considered part of the family.

Weeks turned to months and his thoughts of returning home became less frequent. He and Princess Zelda had become good friends, and his interest in the Hylian knights continued to grow. It wasn't long before he decided to follow his mothers footsteps and become a knight himself. He had proven to become one of the most loyal knights of his class. Loyal to Hyrule not only because his mother once defended the kingdom, or because he had sworn an oath. He was loyal because of the friendship and bond he made to the family he swore to serve. They saw him as family, as he to hought the same for them. With his loyal qualities, his ability in combat, and his ever growing control over the wind element. Youkai Quickly rose through the ranks and at the age of 21, Sir Wilder recommended him as a Lieutenant.

Now, a year older he has grown used to his title, and remains to this day one of the most loyal of knights. Strengthened by his roots back home, and his friendships he has made in the castle. Youkai would surely(fun fact: I actually typed Shirley for a second) fight to the bitter end for defending this Kingdom.

However there is a black spot on his record. One that is more recent than other notable events. During a simple patrol in the north. Youkai and a few of his men came into contact by a group of misguided rebels. In an attempt to end the conflict quickly Youkai attempted to use his Aeromancy to simply supress and capture the rebels for questioning. However something went terribly wrong. For a currently unknown reason, Youkai lost control of his powers. A few of his man report that they could have sworn his eyes changed to a more canine look. Although he has no recolection of what happened, Youkai had killed...NO...Slaughtered every rebel that confronted him. As a result. Sir Wilder has forbidden him from using his powers until further notice.

EXTRAS,

Youkai has a pet wolf named swift who travels with and fights along side him. He wasn't mentioned in the history because I had forgotten about him until i typed the very last sentance.

Youkai also now holds rank over his father as he is incharge of the knights who would travel North to defend Hyrule. However he is not limited from duties elsewhere.

One more thing. I may or may not revisit the whole Wold spirit thing in RP. It would be an interesting story to tell and I could spawn other characters from it.
