Papagor stood at the edge of Lake Hylia. The massive Goron had his equally massive arms crossed before him as he stared into the clean waters. He stroked his mighty beard a few times but other than that his movements were minimal. He simply stood, staring.
Splash!
Tired of waiting Papagor had taken the initiative and found a really big rock to throw into the lake. The Goron then immediately set about rummaging around the splash zone for any fish that got tossed out on the wave. No such luck, it would seem, and he sighed in defeat. Not for long, though, as there was still work to be done.
Cracking his stone knuckles with revitalized determination Papagor... did exactly the same thing. He waded waist-deep into the water and picked up the big rock so he could throw it again. At least he had learned a little lesson about fishing: Look for a place that actually has fish in it before you make your move. He didn't seem to have yet learned that said move shouldn't involve boulders but rather hooks and lines, but he was making progress.

Once again Youkai had found himself in the area of Lake Hylia. It seemed like he had been coming here a lot lately, which didn't bother him in the slightest. It was a beautiful place after all... at least when it wasn't being attacked and what not. Today's business was a personal one. He had heard rumors of a Goron who wanted to be a fisherman during his last visit to Kakariko. He was intrigued by this and when he found out that a fishing Goron had been spotted near the Lake he had to come investigate.
He was not in his armour, opting for his more casual where. He wore his usual cotton shirt with his leather shoulders embedded with his family's sigil. With this appearance people would recognize him as Lord Ookami, son of Elden who held lordship of Denwind, rather than Ser Youkai Ookami the Hylian Knight.
The lake was a massive landmark, however finding a goron in this environment would most likely not be difficult at all. Sure enough, the sounds of large splashes caught Youkai's attention. Upon further inspection Youkai could see the Goron in question throwing a rock around the water. A puzzled expression forced itself upon his face. "Is that how he plans to fish?" he asked himself as he made his way toward the unusual scene.
Now standing on the shore nearest to the goron, he lifted his hand as if to wave. "Excuse me... What are you doing?" he asked in a curious tone. Normally he left others to do their own thing, but this was such a rare sight that he just couldn't help himself.

Papagor had finally spotted what looked like the shadows of some fish when a voice reached out to him from the land. Still holding the large rock over his body with more-than-capable arms the Goron turned his neck to see a young Hylian watching him.
"Fishing."
His happy reply seemed like it would be more than enough to Papagor. What else was there to say? Hylians fished didn't they? So this man would understand. Turning his attention back to the shadows Papagor regained his sight of them and, drawing back a little, slammed his projectile hard into the water. A huge splash erupted from that spot as the boulder forced its way beneath the surface of the lake. Papagor himself quickly looked up and scanned the contents of the splash, a hand over his eyes to block out any distracting sunlight. When he spotted nothing the bearded Goron turned to his acquaintance on the shore.
"Did any get knocked onto the land?" the would-be fisherman called out to the Knight, hoping he'd had a successful round this time.

Youkai was frozen in complete and utter bafflement as he couldn't really believe what he was seeing. 'fishing'!? Throwing large boulders into shadow water was how the goron attempted to catch fish? Youkai thought about it while another boulder was thrown. He guessed in theory it could work, but a lot of things worked in theory.
The splash of the second throw had been larger. Some of the water had almost reached Youkai. When the goron asked if any fish had landed on the shore, Youkai looked around him on instinct alone. He knew there was no way there would be, but his body moved on its own while he remained in disbelief. "N-no... I don't see any."
When he had heard the rumors of the Fishing Goron, he had expected that he would find someone who actually knew how to fish. But it made more sense to Youkai that he didn't since gorons are rarely near water... if ever. Still this situation left him completely speechless.

Papagor sighed in defeat again. This time, however, he did not walk over to pick up the boulder again. It was in a bit too deep for him now and he could get stuck if he tried to retrieve it. This was where a fishing rod you didn't have to go out to retrieve would come in handy. The stone being sloshed his way back to shore with his tiny legs until he had come up next to Youkai. Despite his failures the Goron had taken upon a friendly smile again. No use in burdening strangers with his troubles.
"The name's Papagor," the Goron said, thumping himself in the chest with a massive fist that would have sent a smaller man tumbling over. "I'm working on becoming the greatest fisherman in Hyrule!"
The bearded giant was well aware that his claim probably seemed hard to digest after Youkai had witnessed such a complete failure of an attempt. Well, not much Papagor could do about that. He had to focus on his next attempt.
