Plans within Plans (FINISHED)

[Merik Dragmire]

Merik sat upon his throne in silence, looking around his unusually empty throne room. He knew it would be empty as he had sent all the guards away but it was still odd to see the room like this. He had important words for his sisters that he didn't want spreading around the Fortress just in case some of his people were not truly his own.

Matters had arisen, plans had been made, and now it was time to put it all into play.

[ruma]

Ruma got the message in her lab, working on the initial shell for her new airship. Leaving Jin there to continue gathering materials, she abandoned her work uniform and made her way to the throne room. She was worried, as Merik never called his family just to say hi. No, this was important.

Making her way to the throne room, she entered, noticing the room was empty save for Merik. This only made her more worried as the absence of guards made it even more important.

"Hi Merik" she said nervously, with a wave. Her eyes were fixed toward the ground. She didn't want to be here, this might result with bad things happening. She didn't get details as to what this little meeting was about.

Kotone been on her routes making sure the are was clear and all. AS well as going threw the reports making sure everything checks out ok. If she not doing this then she doing something else. She been lagging behind in her researching for a way to get in the twilight area. However little information was known about them. So it was harder then she thought it would be. However as soon she got word that Merik needed to see her and her sister she nodded and handed off the reports and duties for someone else for right now.

She took her leave and headed to the throne room as soon she enter the door closed behind her as the throne room was empty. Well not empty empty but there was no guard here only Ruma and Merik who sat on his throne. She come up beside Ruma as she bow to Merik then nodded to Ruma as she had no idea why Merik called him here today. There was still a lot of work that needed to be done for her.

[Merik Dragmire]

"Kotone, Ruma, thank you for coming so promptly, we have a situation and I've got important jobs for both of you." Merik said with a grim smile once they had both arrived.

"In case you haven't heard the rumors that there is a serial killer on the loose...there is. A creature known as the Raven Shade has been travelling around the country murdering the innocent and not so innocent in nearly every region. Normally I wouldn't involve us with this matter as one of the regions there has yet to host a death is our happy little desert. Unfortunately a few Gerudo have turned up dead and I have a gut feeling that some of the 'missing' officers I've been replacing so frequently are probably his victims as well; that makes it my business and I'm going to hunt this bastard down."

Ruma was isolated enough from the outside world that this was the first she had heard of any serial killer named the Raven Shade. As he described the situation she made mental notes about this killer. It was times like this she wished her airship weren't just started. It would make things so much easier, being able to track in the skies.

"Do you think he's acquired one of the pirate's stones? He could be listening in, but I haven't intercepted any messages from people who don't seem like they know what they're doing." She tapped her helmet a couple of times. Maybe she missed one, but her helmet was on often enough to miss more than a few messages.

"So now we know the background. So what's our assignments?"

So now the reports started to make since now as there was some information missing from them. So there was a killer on the lose here. she smirk at this as she could handle someone like that no problem. However it seem Merik wanted to take him down his self. She slap her hand as she looked at Merik as she shook her head. She pointed to herself that she do it. After all she is his bodyguard put she handles most of the guards here. So a guy like that be no problem for her.

She listen to her sister as she nods as that would be a problem. The pirate stone used like that. she blinks as she snapped her fingers as she remember in a report one of the pirates on Merik's ship never returned. He has a pirate stone. Now what was the guy's name? All she knew the guy was a Deku but other then that she can't remember his name.

Merik shook his head defiantly at Kotone's opinion that she should handle it.

"I've received information that the Raven Shade is connected to one of the Oocca Adjuncts, so I'm going to track down the former Sky Lord and see what he can tell me about his adviser before I head for the City in the Sky to speak with the adviser myself." he said firmly before turning his gaze onto Ruma.

"In my absence I'm placing you and Mara in charge of the Gerudo...though given how little she actually hangs around it'll mostly be on you to watch over things. Kotone will help you choose a group of bodyguards before she leaves on her mission." he said before his eyes moved to Kotone, his head already pounding from the headache he was expecting to burst into life any second.

"Now my information comes from a good friend, and I'm fairly certain that if the Raven Shade finds out that people are investigating it's connection to the Oocca it might go looking for the people that know about the connection..." he trailed off as he mentally braced himself before finishing his sentence. "So I want you to choose five of your best and most loyal guards and travel to the Fairy Court under the guise of my envoys to add to Titania's own security."

Ruma was stunned at her task. She was no leader, she was a scientist. But she was going to do her best to make sure everything was up to task.

"I will do it." She bowed at his orders. She may not have leadership material, but she had enough loyalty and skill to try. There was no other option. She had to succeed.

She opened her mouth to protest Merik's decision to send Kotone to Titania's aid, but quickly shut her mouth. It wasn't her place to judge the decisions of her ruler, and brother. Besides, Kotone would protest enough for the both of them. She waited for Kotone's orders of who to give as a bodyguard contingent. Things were getting interesting.

"I have my stone, you know how to contact me. Good luck and good hunting."

Kotone was upset she don't get to kill the guy. Even more that Merik get to go to sky city and she does not? This was unfair as that was one of the oldest places. It has lots of history in to it and one of the keys to finding out more about the triforce in her mind. She was clearly upset as she did not like the idea at all. She listen to him more telling that ruma get to be leader when he is away and she get to be sent to protect the fairy queen.

She put her foot down on this one. NO way! She shook her head and waved her arms as her hate for the fairy queen was high. Heck if the guy did some to kill her she might let him. Ha! That be a site to see then she can kill him and say she was to late or something like that. Heck its a win win deal. However she still did not want to. She pointed to him as she was his bodyguard not the fairy body guard as this she have to put her foot down on.

It seem that Merik had... contact the fairy queen with out her knowing it. Dan it her guards was being to soft again. Her glares looked at him as she hated the fairy queen so much and for him to even have contact with him made her wonder a bit. Kotone was after all smart as she can put two and two together.

"This is not up for debate!" Merik roared as he rose to his feet in a rage. He held her glare as he took a deep breath to calm himself. "You need to let this jealousy go right this minute because I will not repeat this again: Titania and I are no longer together PERIOD! We are still friends and more importantly she is the only leader on the Hyrulean Council who fully supports the Gerudo which makes us allies. She did me a big favor by giving me this information and it has placed her at risk, she feels her Fairies will be enough to defend her but I don't so I'm giving her six of my best whether she wants them or not."

He stood for a few seconds longer before retaking his seat.

"Plus if the Raven Shade does move against Titania, its a safe bet I'm dead. With the both of you angry, your fighting skills, and her magic, its a safe bet you'll succeed if I fail."

Ruma flinched and took a step back in recoil. Merik getting angry is scary, even when it's not directed at you. She tried to stay strong and stand tall but Merik shouting down at you makes that very difficult indeed. She tried to think of alternative options for her older sister but nothing came to mind. Layla and Arezu could do the job well, but they were missing in action and Ruma and Mara were able, but they couldn't do the job Kotone could.

She put a hand on her sister's shoulder, trying to calm her down. "Please, if the information is accurate, now is not the time to be arguing. We need to stand together. No one can downplay allies." She needed to make sure that her sister and brother were on the same page. Now was a terrible time for infighting.

Kotone flinch a bit from his yelling but she had a good reason putting her foot down in the first place. She can't easy let her feels go on the matter. 'You say my Jealous but its your Reckless in this matter" She pointed back at him as she tore off her veil so her lips can be clearly seen. 'You going after a killer with out back up? With out your bodyguard no wonder you only summon your sisters here. This is more like a last will then a mission' she lip at him. She truly did not want to guard that fairy no her life was to guard him not that lady.

'Then you say you might be dead if failed. That even more reason why I should come and fight' she snapped at him. She only paused as she felt the hand of her sister on her shoulder. 'But Ruma like you said we should be fighting together but this plan is not together' she lipped and looked back at him once more. 'You know your life is to important to be sent on his mission that why we should go and not you' Kotone lipped with a worried face now.

'Is that why you only invited us so the other gerudo will not know this and try to stop you?' she lipped slower now. She knew his reckless is as strong as her jealousy. Always trying to protect people and family from everything even form his self.

[Merik Dragmire]

"It's not the Shade that I'm worried might kill me, I just said if he showed up for Titania it would mean I was dead..." Merik said, quickly forcing his anger back down. "I don't believe he's killing alone and the possibility exists that the Raven Shade might be allied with either the former Sky Lord or the current Sky Lady. If I have evidence against one of Vriska's officials I'll need to make the accusation personally...and if I suddenly turn up dead and word spreads that I attempted to assassinate members of the Ooccan government they may declare war on us."

He allowed them to digest that possibility before revealing the last of his plan.

"If Titania survives then the Gerudo have the Fairies as allies, and YOU Kotone, as long as you're alive Ruma isn't trying to figure out how to keep control and wage a war by herself. I don't intend to walk willingly to my death but I need everything to be set up right in case things go sour."

Ruma gave herself a moment to take in everything that had happened. She might have been able to plan a war, she might have been able to win it too, but unlike the others, she couldn't be on the front lines fighting. It just wasn't her place.

"One of you better live through this. The Gerudo need a warrior leader. That is not me. I can only advise, plan, I can't fight. And if a war starts, let me at least finish the airship first." She turned away to leave when she stopped and stood between the two of them, facing Kotone. "I should head back, but I need to stay and make sure you two don't tear each others heads off." She turned around, looking at Merik.

"Couldn't you send Mara instead? Or Arezu? They're both capable, and we could avoid this conflict. Turning back around to Kotone, she gave a soft smile. "This is bigger than any gripes you have with the fairy queen. Just consider the option, please."

[Kotone]

Kotone was getting flustered as he was going over her question or rather no answering them. He knew what he was doing as Ruma was not catching them either. She knew this was not going to turn out right as his plan suck. Yes big time but he was not listening he was being stubborn another fault of him. She knew his faults after all more then Ruma it seem as she was falling in to it.

'Fine' Kotone lipped as she snapped her fingers at him glaring at him. 'I guard the dumb bug however since I can't be there to protect you then Jin will' she lipped knowing Jin would do that. She was going to have Jin guard Ruma however their King was on the line. She have to ahve someone there for Merik. She looked at Ruma hoping she would understand her choose in the matter. Other then her there very few that can match close to Merik's skills of fighting.

'But be warned if that bug... makes me upset there will be a bug slap' she pointed out the last part as she will not hold that part back. She will not stand for any rudeness or back talk with that fairy around. She did not want to hear it since the fairy did not know how to read lips.

[Mabari]

Mabari, as always, used the stone Merik had granted him for mental communication to his allies. Centering it on the three others, Ruma, Merik, and Kotone, he entered the Throne Room in a relaxed manner. He had been listening to only half of the conversation, but was able to firmly piece together what it was about with relative ease. Striding in, he sat down beside Merik, and faced the others, all the while giving his input.


Dragmire is no fool, the options have surely been weighed and considered, no? Kotone, you speak with a racist slur that drowns the logic of your opinion. Very Distasteful.

Mabari lifted his nose and barked once, in a soft, calm manner.


I must ask though, for a small summary filling me in on what exactly we are doing.

"Attempting to make contact with the former Sky Lord, then traveling to the City in the Sky to track down a killer known as the Raven Shade." Merik answered Mabari as the dog came and sat beside him.

"If it'll get you off my back about it, and if Ruma agrees then I'll take Jin with me." he said turning his attention back to his sisters. "And I'll write a letter for you to give to Titania explaining the situation, I'm sure she'll be the perfect hostess even considering the way she was treated the last time she was here."

Ruma was glad Mabari showed up when he did. She was about to protest Merik taking Jin when Mabari gave her an idea.

"You could, but Jin isn't exactly a ruthless hunter. If you're looking to track down a ruthless fugitive, you're much better off taking Mabari. I know Jin has a lot of defensive ability and could make a good shield, but I'm not entirely sure he'd fit well on your next assignment." She pulled Jin's remote out of her bag and looked at it. She didn't want to see Jin go on this assignment, but his usefulness was hard to deny.

Kotone blinks to see the wild dog come in and gave a soft bark. She knew everyone but her would understand him because of the stone. However Kotone had no stone of her own. No there was reason why she did not want a stone. Either way she still understood him only because she knew gestures of the body. 'Don't start with me!... My words are true there no lies in them this time' Her lips moved and as normal no sound came out.

She tried hard to not call the dog mutt heck she still did not know the dog name really. Well she did but she keep forgetting the name as she does not see him in the reports to often. She turn to her sister as she could tell she did not want to give up Jin as trying to get the dog to go. Which was not bad idea as that dog cane sniff out the target and give Merik heads up however the dog still won't be much of a fighter compare to Jin.

'Yes abari should go too but Jin still should go still Ruma. From Medical reports I got Jin had spar with Merik and still stood after one of Merik's headbutts. You know all to well no one not even me could stand up to one of those. Jin is perfect to go along in this mission and you know Jin get bored here. This be fun for him....' Kotone lipped to her sister. She did not want to say the next part but she knew it make Ruma say Jin can go. 'So you want Jin to unhappy as a slave here?' She asked Ruma knowing that hit a core string.

[Mabari]

Mabari sniffed lightly, nodding agreement to Ruma’s statement. I concur. Jin is very useful though, he saved my life in the Mountains, pulled me out of an avalanche.

[/i] Mabari hadn’t really told this to anyone, and he doubted that Jin had mentioned it, although then again it would have been leverage for keeping his life. It was just one of those moments where Mabari happened to mention something possibly somewhat important in a nonchalant fashion much later than he most certainly should have.

Looking away from Kotone, he simply ignored her. He did not like her at all in the least bit; she was rude, distasteful, and most certainly prideful beyond words. This was, of course, his assumption of her, and her capabilities were not anything he was taking into consideration. It was all gravy on the biscuit in the end though, and he could only sniff and shrug off her disposition. The Raven Shade sounds like a cliché nickname for an overzealous, prideful bastard. I’m guessing he picked a fight with you Merik?[/i] Mabari was, after all, still out of the loop on this one.
