Beach Day (Open)

Jin had arrived at the beach of Westport, standing there and looking out over the ocean with his arms crossed. His bucklers where already off and tied to his large shield which he had placed in the sand not to far from him. On the shield was several items of food, from loaves of bread to different fruits and vegetables, and some raw meats and fish. To top it off, he happened to have what was some small pastries and chocolates.

Now it was time for him to get to work. Within a few minutes, Jin had set up a small table and a fire pit. Over the fire pit he had set up a small metal wire grill and got the fire being hotter. He had started to cook the different meats and began to set up some food for anyone who had come to relax the day away with him. The sun was at the top of the sky and it was the middle of the day.

Food was cooked, the beach was nice and warm, and it was perfect for anyone who wanted to go and relax for a day of beach fun.

Titania didn't often venture this far out. Something about pirates and raids just didn't have the same appeal to her as the bustle of Castle Town. But sometimes, she had to try something knew. Last time it was Death Mountain and pestering the Goron Elders, now it was Westport, the port town she really hoped wouldn't be attacked by pirates today.

The first thing the noticed in port when she got there was a wonderful aroma coming from the beach. She just had to check it out. Quickly running so as not to attract too much attention, she folded up her wings and dashed out to the coast, magic in the air with the wonderful smell.

By the time she had realized where the smell was coming from, she had noticed that Jin was out here as well, relaxing and grilling. The perfect opportunity for some diplomacy and free food. She waved out to him and ran over, giving him a nice hug and smiling. "Well hello Jin, we here today making me some food?" She looked at him with longing eyes, hoping that he would share his bountiful harvest with her.

First up on the grill was a a few pieces of steak, nothing fancy, but enough that if one was cut in half it'd easily serve two people. Jin put a dash of herbs and a bit of sea salt onto the pieces of meat and let them cook on the fire, not too fast to burn the bottom without cooking the insides. He flipped them and did the same to this side of the meat. He wasn't really paying too much attention to things around him, which explains why the Fairy Queen was able to approach him without him noticing.

It was only when she was closer to him, running up and giving him a hug, did he realize that someone else had finally arrived. His face flushed a bit and he gave her an awkward pat on the back a few times, smiling back at her with a slightly confused look. "Well... I was making food for friends, so yeah, I am." He said, regaining himself and smiling at her, using one hand to quickly turn the steaks. "We are going to have a good collection of foods when I am done. I am hoping others join us today." He added.

"Would you mind helping a bit? I want to prepare some shishkabobs for dinner too, and some fish and veggy variations of it." Jin said before smiling and handing her the tongs. "Just flip the steaks in about two minutes and let the fire do the rest." He said, moving over to the table and making sure he could see her as he cut up meat, fish, mushrooms, and veggies. "So, have you had any cool adventures lately"

Titania was glad he was willing to share his food with her, but she was pouting. If he noticed, she was barely keeping a straight face. "You would have a queen flipping steaks on a barbecue?" At that point she couldn't hold back the laughter anymore. She took the tongs happily and eyed the steaks with hungry eyes. "Two minutes. Got it." She readied herself for the great task of flipping steaks.

"Nothing too out of the ordinary. I just left the grove earlier today on my latest expedition. Last time I was out I found a wounded Hylian who was attacked by Gerudo. Or he attacked them first, either way he had two arrow wounds and I had to tend to him. Nice guy, he said he was joining the knights. After that I returned home and a nice secret meeting with the Kokiri Boss. Snuck into his room at night and got a knife pulled on me for it. Serves me right huh? Oh right the steaks." She quickly returned to her steak staredown as she carefully lifted each steak and turned it over. When she was done with the two, she posed, feeling proud of herself. "Yeah! Take that steaks!" She giggled and looked back at Jin. "So what about you? Keeping busy?"

[Jin Reno]

"Well, if you don't want them to burn I am sure even a Queen would help cook." He said with a sly smile and a wink. He could tell that the Fairy Queen was just messing with him, though he had to wonder why she wanted to play a little bit. With the laughter, Jin smiled and laughed back before getting to work, a grin on his face. Jin wanted to make sure that everything would end up just perfect, so he wanted to work even better.

"Oh? Hmm... well the wounded Hylian was certainly an interesting part of your day right?" Jin asked, cutting up the different pieces of meats, fish, mushrooms, and veggies. With that he slowly slid a few pieces of meat onto a few of the metal sticks, followed by a slice of zuccini, a cherry tomato, a mushroom piece, another piece of meat, and then half a small bulb of garlic. With that, the meat shishkabobs were ready, and Jin put them onto the fire before putting the steaks onto a plate.

He rubbed his chin before looking at Titania again, "Is the Kokiri boss a nice guy?" When she asked him about what he had been up too, Jin shrugged and motioned over to the edge of the beach as the water lapped at the shores and the small turtle. "I hatched myself a magical pet, went shopping, met up with the Human Champion and the other two Human Gentries, and now this. So... not too adventurous..." He said, sounding a little disappointed.

Titania watched as he set up the kebabs, licking her lips with excitement. And hunger. But it would come, in time.

"He wasn't too bad. Kind of serious, not particularly exciting guy. But he was nice and respectful and kinda cute in a rugged sort of way. The Kokiri boss was much more exciting, he grows his own mint and makes the most wonderful tea. Some day he should market it, his recipe is phenomenal. Although I guess it isn't fair, since he's had centuries of practice." She organized some of the fruits and veggies for Jin, having little else to do as he discussed his recent history.

"That's pretty cool. Seraphina makes adventures happen, so there's a good chance of excitement there. I don't know how exciting shopping can be, and magical pets are pretty common in the grove. But don't worry, with me here today will be an adevnture." She began to stare at the food, trying to will it to being done.

"The guy who got shot by arrows was a bit serious? Thats not too fun, being serious. The world is filled with too much trouble to always be so serious." He said, more to himself though, thinking of what was up as the plate with the steak was placed on the table and the meat shishkabobs onto the fire before sitting close to Titania, helping organize the veggies with pieces of fish. He had cut the raw fish along its muscle, to both get more of the flavor sealed in while also making sure that when it was cooked it wouldn't just flake off the metal stick.

Jin blinked and thought about tea before nodded his head, understanding what she meant. "I've never had any tea before... but from what I read Spearmint tea is both minty and sweet... I wanna try it one day... and I guess a life time to work on something does eventually make it better." He said to her softly, showing her how to set up the fish shishkabobs, starting with a half radish, a slice of the fish, a cherry tomato, a few quarters of an onion, another slice of fish, and last but not least, a thinner cut of mushroom.

He went over and turned the meat shishkabobs on the fire to keep them from getting burnt. "Well, we talked about a lot of things... I just don't know what is going to happen to Hyrule though... if things keep going as they are... we could be overrun by wild and lawless monsters and strong, crazy beasts... I hope she comes up with a plan."

Yet when Titania said that simply having her there on this day would make things an adventure, Jin smiled a wide and innocently excited smile at her.

Daemien heard rumors of a beach party that was going to go on at the coast, so he decided to check it out. To his surprise, he saw a fairly mellow Human and a Fairy Queen. "Is this where the party is supposed to be? I'm Daemien, by the way." Daemien said politely and calmly to the duo, even though no one other than the current trio seemed to care about fun get-togethers.

Titania shook her head and laughed. "Apparently he had a long and colorful past involving the Gerudo, so he didn't have time to smile. But of course he has time to admire his savior." She smiled deviously. He did have a rugged build that she liked. And a nice ass.

"When the grove becomes more accessible you'll try the tea. You'll enjoy it." She would have continued, but it appeared that someone new had shown up. Another human by the looks of it. And another male. What fun!

As he approached, she smiled and waved. "Yes, there will be a party here. In the meantime, make a shish kebab and get sand up your ass. It'll be fun." Titania of course, joked about the sand part. But it was humorous to play with the new guy, see how he'll respond. She started to make a kebab of her own, using one of Jin's metal rods and some food. It looked positively delightful.

[Jin Reno]

Jin thought about what she had said, looking over at Titania and wondering what type of person would willingly anger some Gerudo. He looked to the side when she said that the person had time to admire her though. He didn't want her to think he was doing the same. "That was kinda stupid then... why would someone willingly anger the Gerudo?" Jin asked, wondering what the person gained.

"I think I just might have too... who knows what I can share with the Kokiri leader and he can share with me." He said, taking the meat kabobs off the fire and taking the fish kabobs onto the fire. He let them sit there as he smiled at the other person. Though Titania was the one to speak too him first, Jin went to the table and began to set up the vegetation shishkabobs.

He smiled and shook his head at the Fairy Queen's words, putting on a slice of apple, tomato slice, a slice of banana, a slice of cucumber, and a slice of mushroom, of course. "Hello Daemien, its more of a get together for people to come and just hang out together." Jin said, making sure the fish kabobs weren't burning.

[Slaughter]

Oh, dear Lord! What have I gotten myself into now? Slaughter thought, catching glimpse of the ocean surf licking the shoreline. She must have really wandered off far now. Why hadn't see bought a map yet? It was something she was kicking herself for forgetting time and time again. Somebody had to have one somewhere! She lifted one hand to use as a visor for the sun, and scanned her surroundings. She thought she could see a small group of people off in the distance. But even more importantly--

sniff, sniff . . .
Food.

She could smell food! Just like a dog, she could smell the tantalizing aroma from even miles away! Her stomach followed suit by grumbling loudly and Slaughter gave it a light rub. The group of people didn't seem dangerous or anything-- (maybe it was just wishful thinking!)-- and so Slaughter sprinted to where they were gathered. Slaughter had lost her shoes a while back--her memory was a little fuzzy as to how that had happened-- and so she ran barefoot, appreciating the feel of sand in between her toes instead of rocks and splinters.

As she began to draw near, she instantly recognized two of the faces in the group. One was Titania, the fairy queen who had treated her so nicely, and the other was the boy she had met in the Faron Woods. Slaughter's face immediately became tinged a red color, as she came to halt in front of them. She raised a timid hand and waved, "F-fancy meeting the both of you here!"

Titania was just finishing up her shishkebab as another face moved closer. She recognized the oocca girl and waved back as she approached. Probably brought here by the smell, much like herself.

"Hey Slaughter! Figured you'd be up in the city by now. Decided you like solid ground too much or did you get distracted again?" She smiled and handed Slaughter one of Jin's metal rods, so that she could get to work. "We're making kebabs, you should join us. It's free food after all." As Daemien and Jin seemed to be doing their parts to prepare and consume the food, Titania decided to help out Slaughter. It appeared she had a history with Jin, which would probably become clearer with time.

"I'll pass, Fairy Queen." Daemien responded politely to her comment, apparently taking it literally. He had already prepared some curry in a pot with a ladle, and was hoping that someone brought plates. "Do we have plates, sir?" Daemien asked Jin calmly with respect.

[Jin Reno]

Daemien asked Jin if they happened to have any plates, and Jin looked at the man before pointing over to the large shield with the plates. "Just make sure not to use them all, there are other foods that need to be eaten." He said, putting the fish kabobs onto a plate separate of the meat kabobs before he put on the veggie kabobs. They could cook slowly, and the cooking fire was slowly dying down, so the low heat would treat the fruit and veggies just fine.

However, he smiled brightly at the appearance of the girl from the woods and waved back at her. "Hiya! Come on over and join us! We have a lot of good food!" Jin said happily. He had set up almost all of the main dish food, and now he wanted to get started on the different types of after meal snacks. The deserts were mostly fruit flavored, from a few apple pastries, to a sweet cherry pie, and even a couple of cream-filled, chocolate covered pastry.

Jin had just set up the table and put the deserts off to the side and now stood in front of the plates of food and nodded his head. "Almost done." The veggie kabobs came off the fire and were put on a plate in between the meat and fish kabobs. He looked at them a moment before he nodded his head happily. "Alright everyone, food is read. If you have your own kabobs that you would like to cook, I'll stock the fire a bit and you can cook them up too your liking." Jin said, putting a few more sticks onto the fire.

With that done, Jin smiled and walked over to the beach, sitting down and looking at the water, the waves small and nice. He picked up Lisa and held the small turtle in his lap, stroking her head and simply relaxing. He would just relax for a small bit of time, maybe get something too eat, though he wasn't all that hungry at the moment himself.

[Slaughter]

"Hiya!" she said to the boy, immediately snatching a fish kabob from off of the plate. With a mouth half full, she turned her attention to Titania and smiled. "Not exactly . . . I might or might not have gotten myself lost again, heh!" Her gaze then slowly shifted over to the other male; she was sure she had never laid eyes on him before. He seemed demure enough, which seemed to have become a rarity these days. The majority of the people she had ever met were hot-headed, pretentious jerks with bombastic attitudes-- but she quite enjoyed the company of these three. At least thus far anyway!

After she finished gulping down a bite of fish, she spoke up towards the unfamiliar male. "Hi, I'm Slaughter. I don't believe we've met before."

Titania picked up one of the veggie kebabs and began to eat. It tasted great. s she listened to Slaughter's short story, she shook her head and began to chuckle softly. "Well, sounds like journey has yet to really take off then." She giggled internally as she was amused slightly by the awful pun. She turned to Jin and smiled at him, her mouth full of vegetable.

"This is really good" she said with a full mouth. Even as a queen, she was bad at proper etiquette when it came to eating. If she willed herself enough, she could do it, but this was a barbecue with friends, etiquette didn't matter one bit. She continued to munch on her kebab as she took the time to listen to the others converse. Now that there were 4, she had little desire to be the only point of attention.

Jin turned back to the group and smiled, deciding that it was time for him to head back to the group. Picking himself off the ground, he dusted the sand off his legs and hands before picking up his little tortoise and making his way over to the party goers. With a bow toward the Fairy Queen, Jin smiled at her and picked up one of the meat kabobs and took a bite out of it.

"I must say, I give my compliments to the chef." Jin said with a joking smile before heading over to the other side of the table, kabob sticking out from the side of his mouth, and revealed a couple bottles of alcohol. Rum, whiskey, and a large bottle of mead hit the wooden table with a thud, followed by at least 4 empty glasses.

Jin smiled at the group and spoke, "Hyrule is a great place with many great races... and even if we are too be tested by whatever comes at us... I suggest that today we drink up and be merry." With that, he poured a shot of rum for each of the members of the party before lifting his own glass and holding it for a toast. "To friendship."
