Serious Business (Oliver)

Nighttime wasn't exactly the right time to go visiting the boss of the Kokiri. But Titania wasn't exactly tired yet, so she thought to pay him a visit. She had her real reasons to visit him, but she also had her fake excuses.

She wasn't sure if he was going to be awake at this time of night. It was late, and most of the "children" would already be in bed by now. Maybe the boss was different, she wasn't exactly sure. Either way she slipped in through the window and smiled deviously. Break-ins were exhilarating. She tiptoed quietly around, not being completely silent but somewhat light on her feet.

Oliver was laying restlessly atop his house; facing the sea of stars that shined down upon the Kokiri's settlement. The kokiri boss was not one to sleep for any prolonged amount of time. An hour here and there, but his duties required him to stay alert.

The warm night air and the silence that accompanied it were quite welcoming to Oliver. It was times like these where he could be alone with his thoughts. However, much to his dismay, he had spotted a figure enter his home unannounced. In response, he slid a knife out of his sleeve and slowly but surely climbed down after the intruder. He kept a keen eye on the figure as it moved about his home. A look of caution crossed his face as he maneuvered himself into the perfect aiming position.

"It's not very polite to enter without knocking" he said gripping his knife threateningly.

Titania realized she did have the upper hand anymore. He had not been where she expected him to be. The excitement was exhilarating to her. She wasn't quite cornered, but she was at quite the disadvantage.

"No, but it is so much more fun. To think, I could be some vagabond here for your things and your women, or even an assassin sent by an evil lord to spread dissent throughout the land. Doesn't the thought just send chills down your spine." She decided to end all sense of mystery soon after by lighting the room with her magic and looking at Oliver, grinning.

"Or I could just be from down the road, craving a little midnight adventure."

Oliver shifted uncomfortably as the fairy queen shed some light on the rather amusing misunderstanding. He wasn't too fond of being made a fool of. However, he'd much rather a little fun at his expense than having to have to fight. Or hurting an ally unintentionally for that matter. Thus said, he slipped the knife he had held moments ago with the intention of injuring whom ever had intruded, into his boot leg.

"Good grief... You had me there for a second! Just when you think you've seen it all; the queen of faeries comes breaking into your home" he said a little rattled. "Well, make your self at home. I'll fetch us some tea, and you can tell me all about this midnight adventure you have in mind. I hope you don't mind mint by the way. I picked it fresh from my garden just this afternoon"

Titania couldn't help but chuckle. It was true, having the queen break into your home would be considered by some to be an honor. At least no one came out of it stabbed, which was good. Although a knife wound wasn't something she couldn't heal.

She laughed after he mentioned mint. "You, picking out mint in the garden. Hard to imagine the big bad Kokiri boss picking his own mint. No problem. Mint works just fine." She took a seat in one of the chairs and waited patiently. "As for some adventure, I just couldn't sleep, and instead of waking up half the court I figured I'd break into your house. Seemed like the right decision at the time. Didn't think I'd get a knife pulled on me though." She knew Oliver's mischievous nature would understand the joy of making some fun with the others.

Oliver listened intently as he boiled water and dumped the mint leaves into two mugs. The water darkened as the leaves filled the mugs with their flavor. He pulled out a wooden board which he set the two beverages atop of and headed towards his guest.

Hmm, I guess you could see it as a little odd. I try to take the time to enjoy the little things. Excitement always tends to find me so I try to relax while I can"[/b] He placed the board down on the table between them and sat down himself. The steam that rose from either mug gave off the scent of fresh mint. He inhaled it thoroughly with a satisfied sigh.

"However... There is one thing I like more then relaxation. And I think you might have an idea as to what that is. Though, you have to go about it the right way. Otherwise you could very well end up with a knife, arrow, or some other manner of weaponry stuck in your behind!"[/b] he paused to chuckle a little to himself. "If I were you I would not of been able to resist the temptation of stirring up the entire fairy court. Just think of their faces as they awake to a fake burglary!" Haha!"[/b].

With a cheeky grin on his face he took a large gulp of his tea; recoiling from the heat after realizing it had not cooled yet.

Titania enjoyed his little tangent. He certainly was a strange little sort, although not really as little as the rest of the Kokiri. She took the tea and took a big whif of it. The scent was strong, but relaxing in its own way. After the excitement of breaking into the house of royalty, or a boss in this case, the scent was nice. A strange duality that gave her peace.

"I could never fake burglarize the court. I'd get a big speech about how I have to act more like a queen and less like a gallivanting fool. By the time they're done scolding me about my actions, the knife in the back sounds more appealing. At least I can heal that." She blew on the tea instead of simply going straight at it, letting it cool before taking a sip. Her eyes widened as she took a taste. It was excellent tea.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised you make wonderful tea. You've had ages of practice perfecting the recipe after all." Being around Kokiri reminded her of how young she really was. For all she knew, he could be 10, 15 times her age.
