Why did her chest feel so heavy? It felt as if it was going to explode at any minute now. Where could she possibly be? Claire couldn't remember a thing. All she could remember was flying gracefully through the forest, high enough to hover the trees, but low enough to see the ground. She loved the view from where her beautiful wings could take her.
Then... the next thing she knew, she saw a haze of purple underneath, and the suddenly she blacked out. Did she managed to somehow hit her head on a tree or something? Many questions began to form inside of her head, and each one of them narrowed down to the possibility that she might've died.
Preposterous! She was still young, and had so much more to live for. She couldn't die off to easily. Not here. Not now! Her mind began to reason that if she was consciously thinking then perhaps her body was still living. Her heart still had a beat to it. So where the hell was her body? She could hear the sound of the forest life all around her, but all she could see at the moment was darkness.
Her body tensed up as she tried to move around her limbs, but the unidentifiable pain would not allow her to move even a centimeter. What in the world happened to her? Not being have to have motion whatsoever was far worse than death itself.
Claire began to make out soft murmurs. Now she was hearing voices in her head? Certainly she hasn't gone mad now... has she? It was barely audible, but the voice was asking her questions. Claire could only pick up a few words. The raven colored Oocca slowly lifted up her eyelids, realizing now that she had passed out, and her vision blurred out for a moment.
"Wha... What happened?" she asked hazily.

I hope I made it in time. She looks so pale! Umm... well, she was pale before, but not this pale! She looks like death gobbled her up and spit her out. Oooohhh... Please be ok!
The only thing that the stressed feline could think of were a string of worried thoughts that played throughout the kitty girl's mind after watching an Oocca girl fall from the sky and into one of the poisonous areas of Faron Forests. Sympathy washing her frame, she tried her best to pull her out of death's grasp, and into safer terrain.
It wasn't an easy task, being that physical labor wasn't her forte. Sey Sey was practically dragging the girl, holding her breath until they managed to reach the light of the sun, where the light between trees glittered peacefully. The cat girl placed the girl down against the trunk of a tree so she could rest peacefully and the healer could prepare an antidote for the poison she inhaled.
It was a race against time as she pulled out medicinal herbs, and began mixing them together, crushing up the plants until it turned into a liquid form. Seyka wasted no time offering the drink, coaxing the girl to open her mouth, and take it all in. At first, she tried talking to her, asking her if she was ok or not, but when there was no reply, Seyka assumed for the worst. She could only pray to the Goddesses that the Oocca didn't succumb to the poison so soon.
Faron's poisonous gases were a slow kill, so the optimist couldn't bring herself to believe she didn't make it in time. Her hopes were soon lived as Sey Sey's magenta eyes watched the girl's eyes slowly open. A bright bubbly smile graced her lips as her kitty cat tail wagged excitedly. "You're ok~! Thank goodness," she meowed, "I was worried you might've succumbed to poison."

"Who..." she stopped before she could form a sentence. Her dark jewels for eyes took a minute to clear her focus so that she could see in full view who was talking to her. When her vision returned back to normal, she was a little surprised to find... a cat? No. A girl with cat ears, and... a tail. An eyebrow arched up at such a peculiarity. Did surface dwellers partake in furry fetishes or something?
Whatever the reason, Claire did not find it endearing whatsoever. She took in a deep breath before situating herself in a more comfortable manner, propping her back straight, and her arms - which she found she could move easily now - across her chest. Her eyebrows furrowed above her dark eyes not pleased by being saved by a stupid cat girl.
She flinched. She was being addressed by this strange creature. If only she had the strength to fly away she would get out of here in a heartbeat! She scoffed before rolling her eyes haughtily at the neko. "If you're expecting a form of gratitude then you better give up," she stated harshly. "You went out of you're way to save me when I didn't clearly ask for it. What if I wanted to be there? You were inconsiderate, and pulled me away."
Claire would never admit to her own faults. Not until the day she dies. When the tip of her tongue clicked against the surface of her mouth, she realized the taste of medicine was still in her mouth, and began gagging dramatically at the taste. She glared icy daggers at the feline. It wasn't bad, but she had to make a big deal out of it. "And just what in heavens name are you? You look absolutely barbaric with those unseemly ears and tail," she shuddered.
Woe is she who starts a fuss.

"..."
She wasn't serious, right? She flat out refused to acknowledge the fact that Seyka saved her life from the brink of dying. Well, the cat girl honestly didn't expect that kind of reaction from her, but it wouldn't be the first time she's had to handle unruly people. What's with the uptight attitude~?
Seyka blinked a couple times absentmindedly. The petite little cat girl tilted her head slightly to the side, scratching the back of her head in confusion. She listened to the Claire's over dramatized criticism for the Minish's attempt to help her. Talk about unappreciative, and why was she giving Seyka the look like she was vermin?
Seyka just allowed the Oocca girl's words go in one ear and out the other. She didn't honestly mind getting patronized for doing a good deed. Even if the raven haired girl didn't want to acknowledge it, she knew the truth was still there right in front of her eyes. So the adorable little kitty Minish just smiled softly, swaying her tail around from side to side.
"My apologies, miss," she replied, "but to be honest, I don't regret it. I couldn't find it my heart to see you die from poison." Plus, Seyka contemplated that the girl didn't want to die, but she didn't want to admit to it. It's ok. The Sey wasn't going to impose. Her magenta orbs flickered with pure serenity taking her prissy demeanor in strides.
Whether she liked having Seyka in her presence or not wasn't a contributing factor, she needed the treatment, and she got it. Sey Sey had to hold her giggles in to prevent further arousal from the bird girl as she watched the over exaggerated gagging from the taste of medicine. "I never said I wanted your thanks, but I'm glad to know you're ok now."

Claire had to pause for a moment to begin recalling the events that occurred before she blacked out. That's right. She was flying just above the forest in order to get a good view and then the next thing she knew, she was engulfed in a purple haze. The rest was darkness. She inhaled poison?
Claire clenched her teeth inside of her mouth as her black finely shaped talons for nails dug softly into her immaculate skin. How did she ended up so low as to being saved by a surface dweller like this fowl looking cat creatures? It was a shame to her very Ooccan name!
Look at her with her stupid grin. It makes me sick. Does she not know how to be a properly lady? Land-dwellers are truly deprived, pitiful beings. Claire attempted to lift herself up only to feel the mild pain seering right through her very frame. Dammit! How much poison did she inhale back there?! It was ridiculous. She turned her icy eyes back over to the cat girl with the oh-so-serene smile across her lips. The black swan has never been so insulted in her life!
"Don't give me that," she huffed, "What are you? Some kind of member of humanitarian group for the weak, and ill? I'm not a patient in need of treatment. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself so go away, you insolent tramp."
Ah, such venom, coming out from the black swan's lips. The lovely atmosphere she was creating for the unfortunately cat girl was there taking all of her crap.

"So says she who can't even lift herself up," she teased mildly. It was inevitable that the poor girl needed help, and by flat out refusing any help was asking for death to come knocking on your door. Faron Woods, although beautiful in scenery, held a dark secret of wild beasts, and creatures that would love to snack on a helpless little being like her. Claire could keep up the prissy attitude all she wanted, and it still wouldn't change facts that Seyka was still going to be there, if only to keep her out of danger, so that she could get some rest to recover her strength. "Until you can fly on your own again, I'm not leaving your side," Seyka insisted. "You can gripe and complain all you want, but in the end, who looks like the adult here? Petty insults, and spitting out an attitude at me won't save you if you get eaten by creatures that inhabit this forest, ne?"
It wasn't even an option of trying to act like a lady when you were fending for yourself in hostile environments. Running blind without a hint of knowledge of where you're going is a foolproof plan to getting yourself killed. It took a solid year for Seyka to find out herself while she traveled around Hyrule. She didn't get far, but it was still an interesting aspect to see certain regions she's never encountered before. Especially interacting with all kinds of people, some people have never seen a Minish before in their life, and Seyka hasn't seen certain races before either. Speaking of which, now that it had crossed her mind, she's never before seen an Oocca before either. At least up until now, she's only heard of the sky creatures in local lore, but this one was just as unique as they come by.
The cat girl approached the Oocca woman for a moment, and carefully placed her hand upon her forehead. Her gentle magenta eyes focused for a moment, silently counting the seconds that past by, before removing her hand from the girl's head. She moved on to taking Claire's hand, and began checking her pulse. Normal as far as Seyka could tell. She wasn't a pro on Ooccas, but they seemed to have the same pulse patterns as normal creatures (perhaps she may have been a little off since that assumption wasn't entirely accurate) but she was pretty confident that she was going to be fine. If only a little bit of rest, a good meal, and a protection for the time being. "Now, be a good girl, and stay there. I'll be right back with food, ok?" she mewed bubbly.
Without hesitation, she scampered off into the forest, in search of editable plants, nuts, and wild grown fruits. The cat girl could trust her instincts that the girl wouldn't go anywhere. Not for the fact that she's weak, but for the fact of what she said earlier. Sey Sey had a better understanding of these regions than she did, so it wouldn't be wise of her to roam around with that in mind.
At least, Seyka hoped she wasn't stupid enough to try~

Claire let out a 'tch' clicking her tongue against the back of her mouth glaring at the cat girl's remark. She wouldn't have been in this circumstance to begin with if she'd just mind her own business. It wasn't her place to be going out of her way helping strangers out in the first place. Nothing good comes from any gesture of kindness to strangers. Hasn't she ever heard of stranger danger? The stupid girl must be naive to be all happy-go-lucky with the black swan. Her behavior is unnacceptable, her posture is sloppy, and she acts so comfortable as if they've been best friends for years. It was revolting to even consider that Claire had to put up with her over someting as foolish as inhaling poison.
The ooccan woman only stared at the back of the purple haired girl's head as she walked away - no, scampered - off to collect food. Now that the coast was clear, a obviously not so obiedient smile graced her lips. She dug her black painted nails against the bark of the trunk, and began pushing herself upwards. Her feet wobbled like soft, wet mud in a marsh. How humiliating! Claire, a Prima Donna, in the making of her beautiful career as an elegant ballerina, sunken down so weak that she had to depend on the kindness of some weird countryside cat girl.
"Stupid girl... who does she think she is? She's no saint," she grumbled softly underneath her breath. What is she going to get out of helping Claire out? Nothing! Absolutely nothing, but yet she proclaims she does this not as an obligation. Out of the kindness of her heart? It was enough to make her sick, and she was already pale as it is from previous incident.
Yet... she saved Claire. Her hands felt warm, and generous. There was no malice in her words whatsoever. Claire felt a swarm of conflicting feelings, a warmth she's long since forgotten she had there. Sliding her back against the trunk, leaning up against the tree, she closed her eyes and watched as flashbacks come back to her. Mother and father, who loved her dearly, their smiling faces tenderly looking at their precious daughter. It brought back the cold truth that her parents were good as dead. Leaving nothing behind - not even the kindness of their loving hands could warmth the black swan's isolation.
"I spread my wings for a reason," she hissed, "and it's not to be kept down on the ground."

Perhaps Seyka might be going a little bit out of her way, but she was fine with it. The last thing she'd want is for another person dying on her. She couldn't find it in her heart to have someone as pretty as Claire to be buried in the earth, especially since she's so young. Death was a scary concept, and loosing both her parents while growing up shook her a bit. Perhaps it was that thought that made her act out of instinct, trying to prevent fate from creating a cruel design. Maybe...
The kitty picori searched high and low, plucking fruit, collecting nuts, and cutting herbs, and digestible plants. By the time she found she could no carry anymore, she decided it was time to return back to the Oocca. Seyka scampered back to where Claire was resting hoping that she was still doing well~ The raven haired young lady was a difficult one to handle, but Seyka was stubborn too. Two could play that game all day, and nobody would win. Nonetheless, the point at hand, Sey Sey was going to act like the big person at the moment.
She was mildly surprised to see she was still there. Seyka did have her suspicion that Claire would just try to disappear into the forest, and never return. Yet there she sat with her back against the trunk of the tree, and her form relaxed. A soft smile graced her lips as she unwrapped the assorted food she gathered, and placed them right next to the Oocca. "Take your pick~" she offered.

Great... she's back, scowled Claire mentally. Her eyes narrowed at the cat girl's return, but it didn't last long when she noticed what she had in her hands. Her expression automatically turned from annoyed to appalled. What in the world was she trying to give her? The black swan would never stoop so low as to eat the same food the beasts of the wilderness ravage! How vulgar.
Claire glared icy daggers at the foolish girl who put that pile of rubbish in her face. "Do you take me for some kind of two-bit bird who eats worms from the earth?" she chided viciously.
With an arrogant huff, she turned her head around, giving an over the top huff before crossing her arms across her chest. Her stomach betrayed her unfortunately letting out a rumble in need to be fed. A dust of blush stained her cheeks in embarrassment as she quietly slipped her hand out to pick up a fruit, and silently began to om nom nom away.
Oh, how her pride had sunk so low, she couldn't bare to show her face. So she hung her head low in shame not wanting to admit she was wrong.

Seyka practically had to hold in her sigh when she noticed that welcoming expression painted across Claire's face when she returned. It was almost entertaining by now watching her facial features get a work out from changing expressions so much. The oocca girl went from scowling, to utter shock, and then back to sheer displeasure right within the blink of an eye. It didn't take long for the spitfire to give the cat girl an earful once again. She saw it coming but once again she had to let the raven haired girl's go in one ear and out the other. Must she be so difficult?
"Look, I'm not treating you like a common bird," she tried to explain, "I'm honestly trying to help you, but you insist on making things harder on yourself. There is nothing wrong with accepting kindness from another person. I'm not after any form of gratitude from you save for my own self-gratification, if you will, that at least I didn't leave you out there to die."
In fact, the girl was quite cute in her own little way with the way she got all angry. Though she kept that thought to herself knowing she'd only rise further flames from the girl. Sey Sey had to hold back her giggles once again the moment she heard Claire's stomach rumble, hungry, and weary from all of the hype she created for herself. Her eyes began to tear up at the edges, but somehow she managed to hold them back.
Seyka took in three deep breaths before calming herself down from picking on the poor girl any further. She watched silently as the girl fed herself quietly perhaps a little embarrassed about her body betraying her. Sey Sey didn't understand why she was so uptight about everything. Perhaps it came with her upbringing, she always wanted to know what kind of lifestyle the sky people lived. It must've been amazing to be able to live up so high, especially up in a whole new different world. Her imagination for the moment ran wild with her excitement. "How're you feeling now?" she asked sweetly.

Claire didn't understand it at all. Never before has she experienced the extent of someone's selfless behavior go so far as to help out a stranger in dire circumstances. Even if it meant putting up with an unruly manners of the recipient of that said kindness. It was almost sickening to fathom knowing how ill she has treated the girl since the moment she woke up. Here she was regaining her strength yet she denied the sheer fact that it was the girl's kindness that saved her from certain doom. She didn't want to admit to her own faults.
She was too proud to admit she was wrong, thus brought guilt she could not be riddance of.
When her stomach was full, she quietly contemplated for a moment, over her actions trying to regain her elegant composure. After all, one of them had to be the lady of the two, and it certainly wasn't going to be the country girl. Claire's dark eyes flickered up when she heard the girl's question. Why was she being so nice? After all of the nasty things she spat at Seyka before.
She was actually surprised the girl insisted in staying with the black swan even after a few verbal assaults that could've driven anybody off on their way. The girl was resilient, or perhaps dense. "Be wise, surface dweller," she spoke gravely, "You may have saved my life this time, but you cannot save every single person you run across. Nature has a natural way of selecting the strongest of the species, and the weak are left to die away."
Either way, Claire couldn't help but acknowledge that of Seyka. At least someone was willing to lend their strength to help those in their moments of weakness.

Seyka arched an eyebrow up. Did she have to give her a questionable look for her reasons? In all honesty, the cat girl didn't need a reason to help her out. It just came natural to her to want to help others. It made her happy to see that she could make a difference, perhaps not the kind she expected, but it was still something. Then again, nothing really did go she planned at times so she could only expect what may come.
The only problem she seemed to have at the moment was Claire's refusal to cooperate with her, but even then at least she was coming to terms that she wasn't in any condition to be fighting Seyka off. For now, it would seem the proud black swan pulled down her barriers, temporarily, until she's in full health, and could fly on her own.
Silently, Seyka could agree to those terms.
Looks like she's swallowed her pride, and started to admit her faults. In her own proud, haughty fashion, that is. Claire completely ignored Sey Sey's question entirely, but from the way she talked to the cat girl, she seemed like she was doing fine. She smiled softly fully aware of the truth Claire's words had. She knew she couldn't save everyone who appeared in danger. It just couldn't be done. "You're right," she agreed, "I probably can't, but... that won't stop me from trying. If I can let someone live another day, why not give them that chance? I'm sure you would like to live out the prime of your youth while you still can."
Her tail swayed softly from side to side, never slowing down, or gaining pace, just casually flowing nonstop. The eternally joyful cat girl felt confident now that she could be at ease that Claire was going to be fine. She probably didn't need the little healer anymore. It would probably take a little while longer for her to gather her strength entirely, but she could trust that the girl was strong enough to take care of herself now. "I don't know where you're going, or what you plan to do from here on out, but hear me out when I say this, take care of yourself. You're too cute to get yourself killed so soon," she said with a small giggle. "Don't make me fetch you again~"
With that said, the cat girl scampered off into the woods. Her figure disappearing like the wind brushing through the foliage, and back into the forest where she belonged.
{ Exit }
