This world... this realm... this sky... it was incredible!
In all his life, short as it may have been, Vix had never known peace, contentment or happiness. He had always been anxious and unnerved by his very reality. It was an almost psychotic affliction, causing him to become unsociable and emotionally unstable. He wasn't satisfied with it but that was how he turned out. Now, though? Now, even as he had entered the Light Realm still expecting to have to search for what was missing form his life, Vix had found it to be literally beamed into his single red eye right from the very start.
Light. The shining sun. The blue sky. All of it filled Vix with a euphoria the Twili had never experienced before. Something about just seeing the sun caused his mind to relax, as if some great disturbance he'd carried for fifteen years was now gone. He was actually at ease! There was no nagging feeling that something was off with the world in the back of the redhead's subconscious. No, in this world nothing was missing at all! Surely this was where he had belonged all along, in the light of the sun.
It was a shame, then, that his body rejected it so completely.
Every flap of his great wingspan was a chore for Vix as he soared across the open skies. It seemed Vix's mind and body were going to be perpetually at war. What was soothing to one was toxic to the other. For now though, on his very first time experiencing sunlight, the teenager was taking too much pleasure from his mental relief to acknowledge that his body was not in great condition and continuing to decline. He did have the presence of mind to seek shelter though. A building, somewhere with windows he could still look out of and see the light of day without being directly exposed to it.
What better place, his highly-distracted teenage mind thought, than what appeared to be a huge castle. Surely he should go there first, make his presence known. After all, Vix already planned to spend the rest of his life in this realm. Unfortunately for the Twili teen what he saw as the easiest way to get to the castle, flying to it as a Shadow Beast, would almost certainly be seen by the locals as winged monster with one large red eye on its chest heading straight for the home of their ruler.
