Home~
Truth be told, Nightmare hadn't been home since he had been shipped off to the military. Even after he got out, he hadn't really come back. He was too busy managing an empire as well, which believe it or not, he actually had noble intentions for this emperor thing. Being a dragon, he knew his kind were discriminated against. After all, there were tales of heroes slaying dragons, with one even being killed by the Hero of Time. Oh yes, he knew of King Dodongo. A lot of people just chalked him up to a firebreathing lizard. The correct term was wyrm. King Dodongo was a wyrm, a flightless dragon.
The empire was not blind. Nor was it stupid. Despite popular belief, the empire had an archive rivaling, if not outright exceeding the library of Hyrule. Thousands of years of conflict necessitated such things.
As he approached his home, he opened the door and stepped in. He wondered if his parents would recognize him, or if they were even there. If they were, would he be welcomed home after staying away for so long? Or would they assume that all ties had been cut? Would they even know of his exploits? His time in the military? His taking over of arguably the strongest empire in Hyrule? Would they still call him Alexander or would they refer to him as Emperor Darklight? A corny name now that he thought about it. Though, above all, he did actually have one question going throughout his mind, if she were still there.
How would his sister Cassie take it?

Honestly, being home did have quite a few perks. The lack of constant moving around her in usual hunting style, and being able to sleep on an actual bed. How long had it been since she stopped by? Sure, she had sent letters and occasionally dropped in for a few hours, but never longer than half a day. Cassie did feel slight guilty, since her brother had not stopped by too often, and she had hardly any idea if he was alive or dead. Then again, she was sure she would have sensed it if he had croaked through some sort of freaky twin bond. Along with the fact her twin was just too stubborn to die, but of course she loved Alexander dearly. Snickering to her, she pulled her black shirt down a little more. It was awesome to be able to take a free shower, do her laundry, and get some food that did not consist of adorable forest creatures. All she wanted to do was sleep the rest of the day away, but her parents were currently out, and so she thought she would attempt to do some house work. Attempt being the key word, because Cassie was useless unless it came to killing something.
That was until she heard the door open as she descended the stairs, and her blue eyes widened at the sight before her. Cassie had not seen her brother in how many years? Eight? Somewhere around there, and she realized how much they looked alike now. It was like seeing her own reflection, but without breasts and hips. She was almost tempted to wave, and see if her brother did the same thing. Hell, they even had the same hair style. She realized that perhaps she should be running down the rest of the stairs and hug him, but Cassie felt a little unsure of herself. Quite the rare feat, and she absently tugged at her short blond locks. Perhaps she should not have sheared them those few years ago? "If I raise my arm, will you do the same thing?" she asked. It was just really creepy to her, but her lips still curled into a bright smile. She had no idea what he had done with himself in the last few years, and her initial shock finally gave way into excitement. Plowing down the rest of the stairs, Cassie nearly attacked her brother in a fierce hug.
"Where have you been? Damn, you're finally taller than me now! Huh, mom and dad are going to be pretty excited. Having us both in the house, since I haven't been here in Goddesses' know how long either," she rambled. Oh, was she squeezing him too hard? Cassie sometimes forgot that her strength was a little abnormal, but she reasoned it from the constant mercenary work she did. Wow, how would her brother react to that? Maybe she would tell him later, but she pulled back and smiled brightly up at him. Well, that was before her temper broke through for a moment. Her hand collided with his chest in a none-too-gentle punch. "Ever hear of a paper and pen, idiot? I'm hardly home, and I still write every week! You could have been dead for all I knew!" she shouted. This was quite normal for her, since Cassie went through her odd fits of temper more than often. Stupid older brothers by a few minutes!

Ah, there she... he... no, she, was. He had to admit, Nightmare was really caught off guard by just how much they ended up resembling each other. Had it really been so long that they had completely matured into what could be seen as genderswapped versions of the other? Nightmare had been caught off guard to the point where he didn't even have time to really react before she charged him. He felt his sister embrace him, and his eyes softened at the contact. It was nice to know that after all this time, she still loved him. He found it comforting that she still considered him her brother, after all.
But of course, he wouldn't not have fun with the mirror implication.
He embraced Cassandra as well, and pulled away in the same manner she did, listening intently to her words. He couldn't help but find it humorous that she was scolding him over this. And what was this about hardly being home? What was she doing? What was she up to? Was Nightmare going to have to resume his duties as a big brother and keep people from hurting his sister? And what were his parents going to say? What were they going to do? Would they be happy to see him? What had Cassandra been up to though? Did she know what they all were? Did she know she was a dragon? There were so many questions that raced through his mind. Nevertheless, he had to go through with his plan, just if he could bring a bit of fun into the entire mix.
"Wenk I lla rof daed neeb evah dluoc uoy!" He responded, trying to give the same expression Cassandra was giving to him.

Well, Cassie was amused that she was not the only one taken aback by the creepy resemblance. Sure, twins were supposed to look alike, but she was beginning to wonder if they were indeed identical twins. It was certainly nice to see him after so long, and he was still her annoying older brother by a few minutes. No amount of time would ever change that, and they certainly had so much to catch up on now! She had little idea what he had done with himself over the years, and the two of them were now adults now. No longer teenagers, and it was certainly a lot for her to take in. The change in their appearances, but perhaps not in demeanor so much. She still had her temper, and no doubt her brother was still an annoying wise ass. It was a part of his charm she supposed. Well, if he even had any charm, but he was her brother, so she always thought of him as silly.
It was nice that he had returned her hug, and it was almost like no time had passed at all. Eight years had gone by rather quickly, and at least the two of them had stumbled upon each other now. However, Cassie did have a sinking feeling that her twin would ruin the touching moment with his love of poking fun at her. Did she have to get the itching powder out again? That had been a classic, and seeing him run around trying to scratch himself had been hilarious. They had pulled away as the same time, and her brow quirked in suspicion. Her expression blanked as he spoke her last sentence backwards at her. Her brow twitched, and her fingers curled to form a fist, debating on whether to hit him again or not. "Good to know you're still an absolute smartass, Alex," she commented dryly. She made a mental note to douse all of his clothing in itching powder while he slept, and soon she was all smiles once more.
Her hand relaxed, and she let fingers rest upon his arm instead. There was so much to catch up on, and so she dragged her twin through the house to the living room. Forcing him onto the couch, she hovered above him with both of her hands on his shoulder. "You have questions, and I have questions. Start talking, or you're going to wake up wondering where your clothes are in the morning," she warned, smiling rather sweetly. Okay, so perhaps their relationship had remained unchanged after all. It was her duty as his younger sister to make his life a living hell, right~? Leaning back, Cassie moved to sink down beside him upon the couch, staring at him expectantly.

He kept an eye on her hand, watching it ball up into a fist. Was she going to punch him again? After all this time was she just going to be an absolute monster and punch him again? D: That'd be horrible! But luckily his fears were unfounded, and rather, instead of punching him, she just remarked that it was apparently good to know that he was still a smartass after all this time. He found that confusing, wouldn't she technically have been hoping that he would've mellowed out the next time they met?
And that was when he was dragged. Truth be told, he really didn't fight it. But he was surprised at how strong her grip had gotten. Just what had she been up to? She had to have been doing something to leave her in the shape she was now, but what was she doing? He hoped she wasn't putting her life on the line. He already did that enough everyday for the both of them.
But as he was plopped down, things started to make sense. She wanted answers as to where he had been, and may have been willing to answer things of her own. His eyes sorta gazed to the ceiling in an amused manner. "Welllll~ I have to know what you want to know before I can start answering anything. Unless you're not serious of course~" He teased. He had to deal with things far worse than missing clothes, but of course, he wouldn't use that to defeat her threat. It was something she liked to threaten, so he'd at least let her have fun with it. Plus it was kind of true, he really did need to know what she wanted to know before he could start explaining anything or answering any kind of questions.

A huff escaped her lips, almost wishing that Alex had been mellowed out by his time away, but he would never change. Still and annoying and headache inducing as ever, but he was her twin for better or worse. Cassie could always punch his lights out when he really made her angry, and she nearly smiled at the thought. No, she would not hit him like that, but one never quite new with her temper. Riling her up was not too difficult, and her brother knew all of her buttons. Annoying older brothers and their never-changing way, but who was she to complain? Her demeanor had no changed all that much over the years, and it was nice to see the two of them fall back into the same routine. It meant that there would not be any awkwardness, unless he had some sort of life changing confession? Blinking for a moment, Cassie tossed that thought out the window. Surely his travels could not have been that odd, right? Perhaps she should not discredit that theory completely, because one never quite knew with her brother.
"You know I'm always serious, Alex," she reminded with a rather sickly sweet smile. Blue eyes sparkled ominously, because she was more than prepared to go through with her threat. Sure, it was not all that debilitating, but she could always come up with much worse later~! He had been a heavy sleeper when they were younger, so she could always use that to her advantage. Drag him out in front of the house completely bare, but his sleeping patterns could have changed. There was also the fact that Cassie really wanted that disgusting mental picture out of her head. Shaking her head for a moment, she leaned back on the couch. Propping her legs to rest over his lap, she leaned back with an expectant expression upon her delicate features. Perhaps he was right, because she had little idea of what he had done in the eight years away. It was a long time to be traveling and having all sorts of discoveries and adventure. Well, Cassie could not really blame her brother for delaying a visit home if that were the case.
"Hmm, why didn't you come home after the military?" she asked. Cassie was indeed curious as to that, since their parents had been disappointed and worried at the lack of news concerning him. It would have been nice to send some letters their way, which was one thing she had made sure to do every week. Cassie often traveled far and wide across Hyrule to take care of the various monsters that plagued the races, but not without letting her parents knowing how she was. Well, she did not exactly detail everything, since she knew they would be worried sick about her getting injured and whatnot. Ever since that attack from the Bulbins, they had always been a tad too over protective of her. Resting her hands behind her head, she laid back upon the couch. No doubt this would be a long story, and she would be darned if she would not be comfortable for it~!

As Cassie put her legs on his lap, Nightmare was certain now that there was no way she was just going to let him go do whatever. She wasn't going to let him go until she had her answers, and even then, they had to be answers that would satisfy her curiosity. As she began her questioning, Nightmare simply sat back and thought for an answer. He didn't want to tell her all the details, or it would undoubtedly lead to a lot of awkward explanations, and even more questions.
He had one, one that he hoped would at least satisfy Cassie's curiosity and get her to move onto her next question, if she had any more. "Well, I didn't come home because I was free. I had no obligations, nothing to fulfill, I was a free man. Why in the world would I deny any of that just to stay at home?" Which was kinda true. For the first time in a while, he was free to be him, why would he deny himself something like that if the result was to just stay in Kakariko, maybe getting a cheap guard post as he repeated the same routine, day in and day out. He just couldn't handle that.
Nightmare looked to the ceiling, placing his arms behind his head as a way of acting like a pillow for him. He was sure she had more to ask, so it would probably just be best to ask what else she wanted to know. At least he wouldn't seem like he was hiding anything from her, hopefully. "Anything else?"
