Hadrian sat in a study, wooden chair with only a single candle lighting the small room he awaited in. His dressing was different than it typically was; A thick, white jacket with light gray fur protruding from the collar and hood and matching trouser. Heavy leather boots tapped lightly against the wooden floor. His eyes remained fixed on an hourglass sitting on the desk next to the candle. There was only a handful of sand in the upper portion. Winds whistled against the wooden shack and you could just tell that they were bitter. With little time remaining in the hourglass, Hadrian quickly stood up, the chair creaking as it slid across the floor. The old man paced over to the window, pushing the shutters open. Fierce and frigid winds peeled off into the room, snowflakes were scares but it was still unbelievably cold. Off in the distance, Hadrian could see the peak of the mountain, only a few hundred feet up in elevation than he was right now. He closed the window, gazing back at the hourglass...empty.
He grabbed his sword, attached it to his side and opened the door to the room. Striding through two other rooms, he finally came upon a shoddy, closed door. The old man took a deep breath and fiercely kicked the door in, "Get up!![/b]" he shouted. It was currently 2:30 in the morning.
Bundled up tight in two layers of blankets was a young boy named Silver. He wanted to be a Hylian Knight and Hadrian wanted to test his determination.
"You have exactly ten seconds to get dressed!" And it was going to rock Silver to the core.

"Wow, took ya a lot longer that i would've figured." came a voice from beneath the blankets.
The blankets flew off of the bed and silver jumped up, fully dressed and eager to begin. He'd been up for a few hours anticipating some sort of rude awakening. And how could you not? these were the Knights. some of the toughest people around and Silver wanted to become one of them. So it was only natural for this man to awaken Silver at such an hour.
"Man wondered how much longer you were gonna have me wait for you." said Silver with a smirk on his face.
He knew exactly that he was asking for trouble. But hopefully he could show the old knight a thing or two. Silver was prepared and ready for all that was to come.

"All right, since you think you're clever enough to get ready before I say, I bet you're clever enough to guess what we're going to do first?", there was a short pause following. "We're going to warm up with a three mile run along the mountain top. I hope you're dressed warm enough, seeing as you'd get unbelievably hot laying under those blankets for that long, I doubt you are,[/gold]" and Hadrian grabbed the boy by his shirt, before he could put any more clothes on, and dragged him towards the front door. Kicking this door opened as well, Hade tossed the boy out into the thick snow, which created about a foot and a half tall blanket all along the mountain. Hadrian took off ahead of him, kicking through the heavy snow with vigor. "No magic, no items! This is all about what you're body alone can do! And if I beat you in this race, you'll pay dearly when we finish!"
Hadrian was off to a good pace. He had done this run a few hundred times, he knew the sinkholes to look out for and the ice under the snow to watch; all the little nooks and crannies that littered this mountain. His beard and mustache were already gathering ice crystals on them but he pushed on with no hesitation. Training was not meant to break a person, per se, but instead to throw them into the controlled midst of hell so that when they encountered in the real world, it wouldn't seem so unfamiliar. Breaking a person's spirit just came with the fun, and it did have its perks as well. A person was like a rough cut piece of wood, and after proper training, they would be sculpted to perfection, negative aspects of a man chipped away until only a masterpiece was left. But such works of art took years to create.
The old man didn't look back, so hopefully Silver would at least catch up before hypothermia was possible.

"Hmm, so that's the game huh? just a little run? well i shouldn't disappoint now should i?" said Silver aloud.
The wind started to howl and blow snow around. Silver sat in the snow for a moment with his eyes closed. This was a trick he had learned. if he took a moment to get a feel of the weather and temperature he would be able to stand it longer than normal. Abruptly Silver's eyes snapped open and he jumped up. his cape started to rustle in the wind. "Well better get started." said Silver. Silver noticed that Sir Ecclesius had left a nice little path. though Silver wasn't going to trust it all the way through, it would save some work now. Silver took off down the path easily going along. Luckily the moon was casting it's brilliant light. Silver could see the knight ahead of him.
"Better stay a bit behind, let him think he's making me suffer." smirked Silver

The old man's strides opened and a larger distance began to grow between them. Even rushing headlong into the frigid winds, the old man pushed through with ease. Most of his facial hair was frozen already but he didn't even seem phased by it. Hadrian peered back, this was a good distance. So the old man turned around, facing Silver, running backwards. Brilliant light radiated from the palm of his hand, reflecting off all the glimmering snow around him, making it even harder to see. Snow was raining from the heavens harder, now but nothing too inhibiting. At a good pace, Hadrian ran backwards, with the ball of light in his hand. Before too long, another one formed in his other hand and things got even brighter.
He reared back and launched the orb of light at Silver, bolting over the snow at a ridiculous speed. Quickly followed after was the other orb of light, aimed stright for him. On top of just running three miles...through thick snow...frigid temperatures...biting winds...and in the middle of the night, the young recruit would also be pelted with obstacles to wear his body out. Even dodging them would use more strength, tireing him out sooner. This was not going to be an easy day, if Silver thought it was.

Silver saw the glowing balls of energy. it seemed as though this knight was really wanting to test Silver. there were a couple of options. either dodge them and waste precious energy...
"You think i'll back off?!?" Shouted Silver as he took the light orbs head on. the orbs stung in the cold but pain was apart of this process. the attack had only stopped him for a few seconds."I'm not going to back off ever, you can not break my spirit. you can not scare me off!"
Silver shouted this meaning every word. Ecclesius was gonna pull out all the stops. but it would take a lot to stop Silver. nothing was more important to him. Silver started to close in on Ecclesius determined to prove what he was worth.

"It's only just started, boy!" As Silver got closer, a large barrier of light formed in front of Hadrian and instantly launched directly at Silver. The old man didn't bother to see if Silver was stopped by the attack but if he was, the shield would push Silver back quite a distance. Hadrian took off into a dead sprint away from Silver. He would need a lot more than words to make it through all of this.
As Hadrian neared the end of the run, he slowed to a stop, waiting for Silver, "Are you tired yet?" he asked the boy. He stared at the boy, his arms crossed over his chest. "Strip down," Hade commanded.

Silver came up against a wall of light. this knocked him off of his feet. it was unexpected. but not impossible to get through. Silver ran towards it again, this time jumping to grab a near by branch. Silver used the tree and easily got over the wall. Ecclesius was waiting for him at the end of the path. Silver started to strip, but he kept his cape on.
"The cape stays. i don't take it off in the wilderness." stated silver. He'd be ready for a fight if the cape was removed. "What else ya got for me?" Silver stood there in his underwear and cape.

"You'll do as I say. Cloak off," Hadrian commanded, holding out an open hand for the cloak.
With his free hand, he grabbed his sword, drawing it out, tip pointed down. He struck the tip through the snow hard. Sharp cracking noises could be heard until the snow seemed to fade away. The snow slipped into a half frozen lake, the large pieces of ice shattering into smaller, all the way through the lake. "Swim to the other end. All the ice is broken so if you drown, its your own lack of discipline and strength." Hadrian said. The lake was about 400 meters wide, and Hadrian would be waiting on the other end. "I'll be walking to the other end. I better not beat you there."
