An Adventure in Egg sitting(Closed)

[Jin Reno]

A figured decked out with three shields and his face wrapped up with tan cloth ran from the desert, clutching something to his chest with one hand and the other hung at his side. One could easily see that his arm had an arrow sticking out of it, bleeding down his arm as he ran along. He looked back from where he was coming from, seeing the shapes of several bulblins still heading his way.

Jin Reno was on the run from the bulblins, the item he had clutched against his chest was something he wasn't going to give up. He'd put his life on the line and in the end he would do what it took to keep the 8 inch tall and 4 inch wide oval object out of the hands of the bulblins. Moving around a large chunk of land, Jin leaned against the land itself and sat down, panting softly and flinching at the pain in his arm.

When he had first taken the small egg from the bulblins, Jin had sent out a few messenger hawks to go and seek help. He needed help against the large group of Bulblins, knowing that this egg was important enough to the bulblins that they'd keep after him. Hopefully someone had gotten a message, because Jin really couldn't keep running, he wasn't built for it.

Looking at the small tan egg with the symbol of the Spirit temple on it, Jin had hoped that whatever was within it was something good.

Silver heard soft panting from below him. This had to be that man that had requested help. Silver had no clue what he would be up against, or even if others would be along to help out. all he knew is someone had call upon him, and he was going to answer the call. Silver looked forth and saw several strange creatures.

"That must be my target." thought Silver.

"OI OI OI OI OI OI!" Shouted Silver from atop a large pot of land that was raised. Silver stood proudly and heroically as to intimidate the advancing monsters. "Your advancement ends here!"

Silver jumped down landing several feet in front of the panting man. Silver could see he was injured but holding on and clutching a strange shaped object.

"Hey, name's silver. i recived your message and i've come to help." said silver as he drew his blade.

Riku waited patiently near the water, eyes scanning the horizon. When he happened upon a message for help the teen wanted to do whatever he could to assist whoever was in trouble. Of course it would have been preferable to alert the other Sentinels to the situation but according to the message it was a crisis already in-progress. Luckily the Hybrid had been directed to Lake Hylia, a location he was relatively sure he would be able to fight in with less of a handicap than usual. After arriving he stayed here, waiting for the sender of the cry for help to appear. Waiting was hard but it did allow Riku the chance to drink before the fight so he was fully hydrated, something the biologically defective young man highly appreciated.

Eventually a scene presented itself just as he had been told to expect: A lone man fleeing from a horde of Bulblins. Narrowing his gaze and unsheathing the sword from his back Riku took off from the edge of the water toward Jin's location, seeing along the way that someone else must have received the same request for help that he had.

"Are you going to be all right?" the half-Oocca wasted no time asking the injured Human once he arrived and ducked down behind the same cover next to him. He appeared to be injured already, which was hardly surprising.

[As per request, a 24 hour posting time frame has been given. Three strikes you're out starting now! ;D ]

Jin had stolen a very precious item to the Bulblin. Luckily for him, he had manged to run before the beasts could gather their resources! But now time was running out. They were closing in on him. The man hid behind a rupture in the earth, clutching his ever so precious Egg within his arms. The arrow in his arm lapped away his blood. It wasn't looking like a good situation!

But then two heroes arrived! Their materialization into the area and beside Jin couldn't have been more timely! Was it just coincidence? Maybe fate? Was the Egg so important?

The Bulblin thought so. A force of six charged in on foot. They ran as fast their little legs allowed. Just when it looked like Jin might have caught his first break and the Bulblin would have charged right by, Silver declared their position heroically and with bravado. Their goes their cover.

When they advanced, the two of the monsters threaded an arrow in their bows while the other four wielded battle clubs. They snarled as they stopped a safe distance away from the group of three heroes.

The center Bulblin held out his hand into the air. It was Jin's last chance to return what was their's.

Help! It had arrived and the two who had answered his call both seemed to be friendly. In fact, things seemed to be looking up for him and the item he has wished to guard. One of the people who had answered his call seemed to like to boost about his deeds to help out. Jin wondered why he had to be so loud when he just asked for some help. At least he was good enough to help though.

The other person was nice enough to come over to him and ask him if he was going to be fine. Jin nodded his head at the one man and spoke softly, "Yeah, I am going to be fine. Thanks for coming to help me out." Jin said. However, when the bulblins came toward them, Jin brought his large shield out from behind him, leaning against the wall. "Do you two thing you can handle them? I'll let you borrow my bucklers for shields." He said, putting his two bucklers next to him before holding his large shield up.

"I won't let you have this egg! It needs to be kept away from you!" Jin called out, before moving his large shield directly in front of him, hiding his form behind the chunk of metal.

Bows? that could really be a problem... not unexpected but a problem. if the egg was pierced by an arrow then the egg wouldn't survive. The bows were the first to got.

"Take this!" Shouted Silver

Silver quickly spun around once, as he completed his spin Silver released his boomerang aiming for the bow string. if the bow's couldn't fire then the monsters could be delta with without fear of something piercing into the egg.

"That egg isn't yours!" called Silver.

Riku looked at the offering Jin gave. A buckler? Riku had never fought with a shield before, too concerned about slowing down his ability to move and escape if needed. Could he handle it now, though? The armour hidden beneath his clothes was from joining the Sentinels and he had learned to move normally even with that on now.

Pausing only until Jin declared his intentions to keep the egg Riku slipped his left arm into the bands of the small shield and came out from behind cover himself, the opposite side that Silver had taken. The nimble swordsman lifted his simple sword with both hands gripping the weapon. He held it up near his head, the blade pointing directly forward while his right elbow pointed back. The Sentinel had the same thoughts as Silver, the bowmen would be the first problem until the club-wielders got close. When Silver let his boomerang fly Riku took action against the other of the two archers.

Thrusting his blade forward at seemingly no opponent Riku was literally sent shooting across the ground toward his Bulblin target. He seemed to either glide or slide all the way in from out of range at incredible speed to jab his blade directly into the long-range fighter. If his blow was successful Riku would then, in a seamless continuation of the same attack, lift up above the goblin to perform a second somersault blow with the sword into its head. If the creature wasn't killed by these two strikes it would at the very least be staggered and knocked into the ground.

STAGGERING SWORDPLAY: -2 HYDRO COUNTERS

So, he either killed/slightly incapacitated one target and was left right in the midst of five others by himself or he had failed to land his opening strike and now had to contend with all six. Not great odds either way but Riku never got to fight with great odds anyway. He was on a time limit and could already feel the perspiration building up from his exertion. When he fought it was always all-or-nothing.

Well, at least now he had a shield. Right?

[Sorry! Went on vacation. Since I disappeared, I won't count any lateness for this next round.]

[style=text-align: justify;]The Bulblin leader growled at Jin's response. It let out a roar to signal to the others to get to attacking! But before they could listen, they were already being attacked.

Silver initiated the first strike! His boomerang hurdled toward the first archer. But little did he know the types of arrows that Bulblin used... It would be his mistake. Redirecting its target, the archer fired its arrow at the boomerang. The arrow struck the boomerang dead-on and instantly exploded in a great fireball! The boomerang spun out in a random direction, possibly damaged, but out of harms way from the Bulblins. That same Bulblin then fired another one of the dangerous Bomb Arrows at Silver!

The other Bulblin wasn't so fortunate. Riku's blade burst through the archer's chest and then cracked down through the center of its body in a swift manuever! The Bulblin's halves fell to the earth and that archer was instantly dead.

But Riku had left himself open! A nearby Bublblin switched its battle club through the air and it struck Riku's head dead on!

The remaining three Bulblins that weren't doing anything charged in at Jin, preparing to swing down their mighty clubs upon him.

Yes, it was good to have a shield. A shame he didn't use it. Riku paid a price for his boldness but he also reaped a reward: One of the long-distance attackers was dead. Riku, light as he was, stumbled a fair distance from the blow but turned to view the battle again as quickly as possible. A dangerous-looking projectile was hurtling right at the one that called himself Silver. Lifting his free hand to the air Riku attempted to use Moderate Telekinesis to halt the projectile's flight. Hopefully it wasn't too potent for that skill to stop. Riku even dared to hope he might be able to redirect it into the charging crowd, but he'd settle for stopping it if he could only manage that.

"I have to protect him," Riku said to himself as he nimbly leaped forward and slashed at the second archer with his sword, this time trying to keep his wits about him for defence. Silver would have to hold the line on his own for now while he tried to clear out the enemy's back ranks.

The battle had begun and Jin sat against the rock, the egg in one hand and his shield strapped along his good arm. It was larger then most Hylian shields, but Jin could still easily wield the thing, though most attacks caused him to put his entire body into it. However, when it came to defense, Jin was pretty much a turtle. Picking up the buckler that Silver ignored, Jin connected it to the larger shield and safely tucked himself away within his rock and a hard place situation. It it came to it, he'd fight his way out of a group and find another position in which to protect himself.

However, he had to worry about the two that came to help him. If things continued on as they where, the group might just have an issue, though the enemy forces where already down one member. "If you get close and keep them off me, I have a spell that can heal you some!" Jin called out to them.

the archers were already down one man. though he was unable to get his boomerang. Riku had saved him a serious injury. These arrows looked really nasty. They were unexpected. The archers had to go.

"Alright, let's go!" said silver.

Silver rushed in towards the remaining archer. if the archers where taken out their arrows would be available for use. bomb arrows or not they'd be well used.

Silver gripped his sword. He activated his ice ability. His blade was surrounded by a thick coat of ice. one hit and the ice would do some damage and shatter the ice. Silver Swung his iced blade at the last renaming archer

Riku had slain one Bulblin. It may have been the head injury or something, but he apparently didn't notice the Bulblin warrior standing right beside him; the one that had struck Riku moments ago; it hadn't gone anywhere. While Riku had managed to stop the arrow dead in its tracks and it had fallen harmlessly to the ground, he was by no means safe. When he bolted toward the final archer, the Bulblin warrior followed behind.

Riku swung his sword at the archer and...! Nothing! His arm wouldn't move. When he looked at his arm, Riku would see the dark gray and dirty hand of the Bulblin over it, holding it there in a death grip. Standing behind Riku and holding his forearm, the Bulblin used its other arm and began to bring down the club upon his head.

The archer flung itself backwards as Silver's blade passed where it once stood and also near where Riku and his Bulblin were now fighting. It then fired fired a Bomb Arrow right at Silver's chest.

While the heroes foolishly fought their own battles, the three Bulblins were beating down upon Jin's shield with great force. Jin had angled himself perfectly that he was rather safe, but one man can only defend himself for so long.

"What are you doing back here!?" Riku asked in stunned shock when he noticed Silver rushing right past the horde of Bulblins running at Jin. What did he think they were here to do? The Hybrid tried to finish his attack quickly so he could help protect the egg but then something grabbed his right arm.

'What? How on earth?' the Sentinel thought. Riku was quite surprised. The blow he'd taken from this Bulblin had already knocked them a bit apart and then he had taken a flying leap straight at the archer using his Hollow Bones as best he could without a second wing. How had this one managed to catch up with him on foot and stop the attack? Bulbilns weren't exactly known for their grace and speed. 'Is the extra weight really slowing me down that much?'

Riku didn't have time to think about it though before the hammer came down for a second attack... and struck nothing. By manipulating his location with the Oocca's Spatial Science Riku had teleported at the last moment. But where had he gone? Right behind the second archer, who's neck he immediately made to slash through while it was distracted by taking a shot at the other warrior. The Bulbin he left behind nearby should be left off-balance form the missed attack too long for it to interfere with this stroke, he reasoned.

Riku regretted not being able to save Silver from the second arrow but hopefully the man could handle himself somehow. Riku never expected his fellow defender to abandon their charge while he was already in the back ranks. They had to get back to Jin as quickly as possible!

A bomb exploded right in front of Silver. The pain was quick to set in and the dust lingered for quite a while. As it cleared Silver saw Riku make a slash at the last archer. Hopefully the brute would go down. Silver took a few arrows that where scattered on the ground. Silver quickly dashed back to where Jin was. the two brutes where too busy bashing at the shields to notice Silver approach. Silver gripped his sword and flames started to envelop as he activated his other ability. the ability to use fire. the flames circled his blade tightly. Silver slashed at the bulbins that where attacking Jin with a mightly swing. Silver skid to a stop behind the second bulbin and finished his initial swing. His sword had gone far enough to hit the three monsters. After the first swing the flames died out and Silver swung his blade again for another attack.

The pain in his chest was a burning reminder of what would come if he let these creature get into where jin was. The egg would remain safe at all costs. nothing was going to stop this team from failing at this. Apparently the egg was important to Jin.

"This is the end for you creeps!" shouted out Silver in an attempt to psych the monsters out.

Each blow shook the shield and his arm, and Jin could only keep still, holding his defense and not letting the creatures break through. With any luck, he would soon be rid of them and able to leave with the egg and his body intact. He wanted to help his allies, but with his arm slowly beginning to numb from the constant assault and his arm already hurt from the arrow, Jin could only hope to wait it out.

When one of his allies came close, swinging at the creatures, Jin decided to try and heal him, activating his spell Oasis, creating a false pool of water that seemed to extend from the rock wall he was pressed against, fixing his arm as well as any ally close enough to him. "Come close! This is a healing spell for allies!" He called out.
