You couldn’t really describe Freya’s personality using a single word; although most people would describe her as being quite playful, that only covers a small part of the emotions and traits that lay beneath her exterior. Typically, she is overly friendly and not particularly scared or afraid of introducing herself to anyone, quite comfortable around groups of people and more than willing to express herself. A lot of people have accused her of being rather vulgar, disapproving of various comments she can make that are sometimes unacceptable in public. But, Freya never means any harm to anyone, either with her words or her actions, despite sometimes making suggestive comments about people.

She doesn’t really have much of a temper; any real issues she has with people are either ignored and brushed aside, or simply answered with words of her own. Quick-tongued, she has an answer to everything and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind or respond with a crude comment. The negative image that is created in most people’s heads from meeting her is never entirely accurate; most people have described her as quite slutty, due to her attitude and body language around men, willing to quite happily get close and flirt, despite having no intention of taking matters any further than a friendly relationship.

She is protective of her company and close friends and won’t hesitate to jump in and defend them, never losing her casual and composed mentality, simply acting as necessary to remove a threat and ensure her companions aren’t harmed in any way. Smart, professional and precise, she can be a handful to fight against for either a group or an individual, always very calculated and very rarely wasting an attack or a technique.

APPEARANCE,

What most people seem to notice first about Freya is the wild purple hair that falls either side of her heads, with one large curl either side of her face standing out from the rest the falls delicately to frame, the back of which falls to just above the bottom of her neck. In contrast, her eyes are both large and a bright amber colour, standing out from both her pale complexion and her startlingly coloured hair. Possessing a fairly slender figure and only 5’7” tall, Freya is a considerably dainty young lady, only 126lbs in weight, although she is fairly well defined in terms of figure and incredibly long-legged with a sizeable bust.

Her choice of costume is generally what makes Freya stand out more than anything else, most people describing her as the epitome of a Halloween witch. She wears a black dress that drops down to the top of her calves with a white frill, hugging her figure tightly with a conservative neckline that starts at the base of the neck, the sleeves of which reveal her shoulders and hands with material draping down from the wrists. Long black high-heeled boots start from halfway up her calf and spread down her legs, curling upwards at the toe. This is her typical attire, completed by a large witch’s hat that sits delicately around her forehead, adding around another foot to her height, black with a white strip of fabric around the base, curling again at the top.

WEAPONS,

~ Throwing Knives ~
Freya carries a number of small throwing knives within her hat, allowing her to flick her head and have a number drop out into her hands for use. They’re similar in size to kunai and made from steel with extremely sharp points; silver blades with black hilts. She does occasionally use these at close range, their length allowing her to fend off medium-sized weapons, although not much bigger.

ITEMS,

~ Razor Wire ~
Used for multiple purposes such as attaching to the throwing knives to retract them after being thrown or used at close range in attempt to strangle. She carries a length of a couple of metres inside her hat.

~ Smoke Bombs ~
Used either for a quick getaway or as a distraction, these smoke powder ‘bombs’, or ‘pouches’, open on impact after thrown, letting out a large cloud of thick, black smoke that can cover an area of 30 cubic feet. She usually has three of these at any time.

ABILITIES,

Freya is mainly a support character rather than an attacking one. Any spells or techniques she uses actively are usually preceded by the words “Pum-pum pumpkin”.

~ Halloween Mirror ~
Most of Freya’s techniques are pumpkin-themed, either utilizing techniques with a pumpkin appearance or a theme, this being an example. Spreading her hands open as if she was holding something, a mirror forms in the shape of a flat, giant pumpkin, complete with stained-glass. This mirror is used to reflect any magical attacks fired back at their user, or simply away from Freya and her allies.
Cooldown: Once used to deflect attacks in a post, there is a cooldown of four turns before it can be used again.

~ Halloween Cannon ~
The only directly attacking technique she knows for now, by which she can conjure up to four pumpkins in a single post, launching all of them like cannonballs at target(s), which can make for a painful experience when they hit, exploding on impact. The cannonballs are all fired consecutively, although delays between each may differ depending on what Freya is aiming at.
Cooldown: Once all four pumpkins have been fired, there is one post cooldown before which another four can start being fired.

~ Flexibility: Freya-Be-Nimble ~
Freya is a fairly capable athlete, quicker on her feet than most people, able to run a lot faster than most, as well as being quite agile, dextrous and in possession of very good acrobatic skills, able to jump high and long distances. She could easily jump from the ground to the branch of a tree around 3 or 4 metres in the air and reach/hold speeds that would make most sprinters jealous.

HISTORY,

Like most Hylians, Humans or Hylian-Humans, Freya was born in Castle Town, to a Hylian mother and a Human father, both of which had no background or history with the use of magic; therefore you would imagine that her upbringing and her youth were fairly normal and straightforward.

You would be wrong.

At the age of 3, Freya’s parents went travelling with her in the Faron Province, simply intending to partake on an innocent camping trip. However disaster struck, their camp was ambushed by a band of thieves who intended to simply rob the family of their possessions, just a simple demand for money and they would leave the family alone. However, even the most basic hold-ups can go drastically wrong. Taking badly to being held up, Freya’s father foolishly attempted to fend off the thieves himself and was outnumbered three-to-one and was killed as a result. Attempting to protect her child, Freya’s mother fled with the young hybrid, attempting to make her way back to the safety of Lanaryu Province. It is a long distance to cover, however, and she was shot down within yards from their campsite, leaving Freya orphaned.

So, by herself with a band of thieves, a multitude of stereotypical events could have happened here. Perhaps the thieves decided to kill her? Maybe they felt guilty and brought her up as one of their own, only for her to resent them in later life and plot revenge. Perhaps she suddenly developed some incredibly hidden power and killed them herself without realising it? The real story from here fortunately isn’t quite that predictable.

The area the parents had chosen was done so because it was the time of year where a travelling circus often passed through, entertaining those who were nearby. Hearing the sounds of fighting and screaming from nearby, the members had attempted to get to the scene as quickly as possible, inevitably too late to save Freya’s parents, but quick enough to force the bandits to flee the scene, saving Freya from all sorts of possible outcomes. They would be the ones to adopt the abandoned child, taking her in and bring her up themselves.

Over the years, Freya would be educated by the travelling circus, taught acrobatics as well as the best ways to attract customers. In her early teens, Freya’s natural beauty and overly-friendly demeanour around strangers led her to be quite a valuable asset to the circus, in which she was encouraged to get fairly close to customers to persuade them to travel around and enjoy the circus’ various entertainments, which would explain her quite flirtatious and touchy-feely mannerisms in the present. It was through her experiences with this group that she would be taught to use magic, the so-called illusionists and magicians with the circus were more than just tricksters, they actually used magic to fool customers. Some members were mages in the past and having fallen on hard times had applied their trade with the circus for quick and easy cash.

As she matured into a young adult, Freya’s skills with magic progressed largely, with her taking to a Halloween theme for herself as both an act and for her magic, which worked well with the travelling circus for autumn performances for a while. However, over the space of a few years, the circus became less and less able to produce high-quality shows and slowly began to lose profit, eventually causing the circus to disband due to a lack of finance to keep it going, requiring all of the members to part ways and go about finding their own paths in life.

This is where Freya is now, effectively wandering around by herself whilst she looks for a place to live and some way to support herself.
