The late summer sun was high in the midday sky and the air was thick, humid, and frankly a bit uncomfortable. It was a good day for a swim in the cool creeks or pools that scattered about the forest, but Dahnee was not swimming. She felt far to lazy on this day to find a good deep hole to soak in, instead the Minish Chief had found a small clearing and had slung her long golden hair between two thin birch trees, making a small hammock for herself. She exerted no energy in giving the hammock a steady, rhythmic swing and therefore creating a soft breeze around her. She laid in the half shade, eyes closed and heavy, the lazy day sinking into her bones and dragging her off to sleep.
"Alyra, lets go!" a small Dahnee with long brown hair waved a chubby little arm at her sister and the two girls stumbled off into a field of clovers, their tiny legs slipping under their overambitious speed. "Come on! We're gunna miss the best part!" Dahnee laughed as she raced over the crest of a large hill. The forests edge was still close behind them, but stretched out before them was the whole of Hyrule field and off in the distance Hyrule Castle. Dusk had fallen and the clear summer night sky was laid out before the two girls, a soft sound of music drifted on the breeze from the town and Dahnee settled onto the ground as her sister caught up and flopped down beside her. Just as they settled in a loud CRACK! filled the air, silence and then BANG! and the sky above Hyrule castle was flooded with sparkling light. Again and again fireworks exploded over the city, bringing day to the night before dissolving into the starry sky.
Dahnee swung, fast asleep, dreaming of her long gone childhood in the heart of the forest completely unaware of the clearings newest occupant, yet.

A large figure moved through the forest, avoiding the trees as best he could as he stalked a prey he could just barely smell, the scent a little too good to pass up. It smelled just like the deer of Snowpeak, and he had not eaten anything significant since he had left the mountains, barely able to enjoy any of the food that the humans or hylians served.
A clearing was in sight and the smell of his prey was getting stronger and closer. Deyu could hardly contain himself as he now charged recklessly toward the scent, his true from hitting and breaking trees as he opened his mouth, letting out a hungry growl. Just a few more feet now and the food would be in his mou...
Deyu skidded to a stop just three feet from the hammock of hair and the figure who laid in it. This was not a deer... was she a human? With long hair? He was confused and his monstrous face showed it as he sat there, as if he was a confused canine of sorts. At the very least, he wasn't going to be taking a bite out of the woman, not now.

A hot wind passed over Dahnee, at least she thought it was a hot wind, the extra dose of discomfort roused her from her afternoon nap. Bright blue eyes sparked in the sun as she opened her eyes, blinked once.
Twice.
"AHHHHHHHHH!"
Dah flailed wildly, her hair loosened from the trees and she fell to the ground, thowing her arms up defensively and her hair mimicked this move concealing most of her small form from the ginormous dragon that had woken her in the first place. It was huge, almost as tall as the trees and covered in thick scales, it was like nothing Dahnee had ever encountered. After a long, drawn out wail of fear she was only able to utter four very small words in an almost inaudible voice, "Please don't eat me,"

The scream was a bit loud, and Deyu twitched a bit, wishing he could of covered his ears from the sound. Luckily, it had stopped as soon as the woman fell from her hair hammock onto the ground. Surprisingly, the hammock then seemed to surround her as if it was some sort of shield type of thing. He just blinked at her a few times, wondering first off, why she smelled like a deer, secondly why her hair moved like it did, and thirdly, if she would scream again.
When she spoke again in a very soft tone, Deyu let out a sigh and lowered his head, glad she didn't scream again. "If I was going to I would have by now." Deyu said to her, rubbing his face with his paw, not looking at her as he lifted his head a bit. Now what was he going to eat, he just couldn't eat someone like this, no matter how tasty they might have smelled.
"Sorry I scared you." He said, his body seeming to be engulfed by snow before his ranged human form stood in front of her, his masked face hiding any emotion he might of shown to her. Of course, he didn't want to be rude, but his stomach growled loudly and he turned his head from her, obviously hungry.

Dahnee peeked from behind her arms and her hair lowered slightly, she watched as the dragon was covered by an un-seasonal veil and then disappeared leaving behind a man in head to toe armor. Mildly ashamed of her less than brave behavior Dah slowly got to her feet, though she was relatively unsteady, her legs felt like noodles under the weight of her small body. Her hair dropped its defense, but it twitched around her feet, ready to guard or attack as may be needed in the near future.
"I-it's okay," she stuttered, still a little unsure, her brain was a bit discombobulated as she wondered what had become of the giant beast. she assumed this man had something to do with it and he spoke in the same deep, gruff voice regardless of what appeared before her. She wondered if the dragon had truly changed shape or if this man was an illusion, that perhaps the beast had gotten into her head and changed what she was seeing before her; such a thought was very disconcerting. "Wh-what do you want?" etiquette was all but lost at this point and it wasn't as though she was trying to be rude, but the thought that this man was a mental illusion while the dragon was licking his lips in plain sight was so unsettling she couldn't think to treat the stranger with an sense of ease.

Whatever her hair had been doing, it was no longer doing it, and as she seemed to relax a bit in to his new appearance, Deyu's mind was a little elsewhere at the moment. He felt like he'd have to at the very least explain things to this deer smelling woman before moving on his way looking for a feast for him to enjoy. Hell, he'd go fishing if it came to it now. there where plenty of places for that close by. Still, he had to at least put the woman at ease that he wouldn't come back to eat her when she wasn't looking.
When she asked what it was that he wanted, Deyu rubbed the back of his head and looked to the side. He wanted to figure out what to say without freaking her out. "Well... um... I was hunting... and I followed a good scent... but it was you and I don't eat people..." He said, looking at a tree before letting out a sigh. "I am really hungry though... haven't eaten in a few days." Deyu added, sighing softly and rubbing his stomach. He also realized that he probably wasn't helping the situation all that much by saying that he was in fact still hungry. It was a bit of a problem that he needed to find a good fix for, so he turned toward her and bowed at the waist. "Sorry for waking you."

((I'm so sorry for the wait, it's been a crazy week)) Dah, still shaking, brushed a bit of hair from her face, "No, no, it's okay," she smelled good? Trying to be inconspicuous she gave the air a little whiff, she smelled dirt and trees.
"I-if you're so hungry I can get you some food," she offered, her voice shaking a bit, she was still nervous, the vision of the big dragon was still very alive in her mind regardless of the ever so mildly less intimidating man before her. (( also sorry for the short crappy post ): ))
