[This thread is open to a staff member and two non-staff members] The sound of an empty Fairy’s Fountain Tavern was a rare one for those who worked there; the opening of the new establishment had attracted a lot of attention and drawn in many customers who appreciated the opening of the public house just outside of the market. Although only open now for a couple of days, business was certainly good and Owen was quite happy to be a part of it. With the workload of the Hylian Knights being fairly low at the moment, he had taken it upon himself to take up alternate employment to pass the time as well as add to his earnings. The job role here suited him, keeping him in contact with the locals as well as keeping him busy, not to mention that part of the job requirements kept him in fairly good physical shape.
Having just wheeled a couple of barrels down into the cellar, as well as ensuring that the general stock of mead, spirits and liquors were topped up and ready for opening time, Owen made his way behind the bar and leant forward against the counter before taking a quick glance at the clock in the corner. Only a few minutes to go and then it was time for another day of serving customers. Owen was the new bar manager, running the bar whilst Baal was dealing with more pressing matters as the next highest form of authority, and he had quickly become used to the running of the pub after being run through a quick series of tutorials from the swordsman-come-landlord, now more than able to handle most matters that would crop up during a busy shift.
Tapping the fingers of his left hand delicately on the top of the nearest ale pump, the lieutenant pondered the flow of the day’s events; he wasn’t sure who else would be serving with him today, or even who else among the other staff would be working alongside him today. Naturally, Lucky the chef was around in the kitchen preparing food for the lunchtime, so there was at least some company available to help spread the workload. Owen only knew of some of the other staff, he had yet to actually meet any of them. In fairness, this was only his second shift as bar manager, the last shift he had done was under the careful eye of Baal during a quiet period to ensure Owen got used to the locations of every resource he required to perform his job. This shift would be much busier and demand much more of his attention.
Not that he was concerned about being unable to handle massive crowds; the hydromancer was looking forward to it. Time flew when you were busy, and Owen had always been more than capable of dealing with heavy workloads.
Eventually, the clock would strike the hour and announce that the tavern was now open for the day. Owen stood up straight and waited for the first customer(s) to come through the door, eager to get on with his job.

Fane came in through the back doors right before opening time and had a quick change in the back bathrooms into his work uniform. A nice dark suit was the fanciest thing he could fine, and it fit him well as Bartender. Sharpening his appearance with a quick comb over of his hair and a straightening of his clothing, he headed out front shortly after the the tavern opened.
Spotting Owen, he moved behind the counter and assured all of his liquor and alcohol was in place. He didn't know what to think of Owen yet, mostly because he was a knight and Fane was mixed up in some seriously illegal activities. Among the Knights however were some that knew why he had to do these jobs, and knew that often times he has helped with busting big time criminals. If Owen knew this, Fane wasn't receiving any signs, that was for sure.
"Loosen up Owen. Haha, you look like you got a piece of wood stuck up your ass. Fane chuckled lightly, teasing the Knight at his military behavior. For Fane, these places were easy to work. Make people feel like they are at a home away from home with a bunch of people who understand them and want to have fun, and he has done his job.

Turning quickly to look at Fane over his shoulder, Owen let out a small laugh before then loosening his posture. It had never actually occurred to him that he ever responded to signals like that, instantly stiffening his stance to ready himself to go about his duty. That said, it was probably the only thing about the lieutenant's natural character that screamed that he was indeed from the military, Owen’s general character was quite relaxed and laid-back; taking things as they came and not as strict as any stereotype may suggest. Clearing his throat, he replied to the bartender as he then leant back against spirit cabinet behind him.
”Didn’t notice that I appeared so uptight. Guess I’m just more eager than I thought.”
The knight had appreciated the trust from Baal to handle the shift by himself today and had no intention of letting him down. He was ready to serve and even more content now that he knew he had another member of the bar staff working with him. He knew very little about Fane, aside from an assumption that he was local to Castle Town, although that assumption applied to most humans. He seemed to be a nice enough person, which was enough for Owen to trust him. Casually running his finger along the edge of the cabinet, he started going through the cocktail recipes in his head whilst continuing the conversation.
”How many people you reckon we’ll have today?”

Thomas opened the door of the Fairy's Fountain not long after it had been unlocked. The tall brunet came in looking very much unprepared for dining out, though. His face and hands were covered in soot. Oddly enough the man's clothes seemed fairly clean in comparison, though the idea that he would change clothes and not wash his face would seem odd to anybody.
Regardless of the anomaly the blue-eyed man kept to his pace, armoured boots making noticeable sounds as he stepped across the floor and walked right past the two present employees. He stood looking around for a moment but then spotted what he had been looking for. The restrooms, of course.

Thomas Springsteel let the hot water roll off of his face as he stared into the mirror. Today... was not setting up to be a great day.He wasn't going to be able to work at all, in fact. That wasn't something he could really afford. Still, he had just come into some Rupees from a recent job that didn't include any setbacks for once, so it seemed appropriate to try to cheer himself up.
Eventually the man exited back into the main area and approached the counter, skin freshly scrubbed.
"What do you recommend for breakfast?" he asked with a resigned smile.

Fane chuckled at Owens response, and began wiping down his counter for a more professional, clean look. As the Bartender, he always would take orders if they approached the bar, however it was usually accompanied by alcohol. "Hm...couldn't quite say. It shouldn't be to bad though. Just as he finished a customer walked in. As he took the back, Fane assured everything was ready. He took his job as seriously as Owen did, which could probably be considered impossible. Fane had greater reasons for working however. Family was one, and the ideals of knowing what a bar can do to ones sanity is another. He wanted the place to be a clean, lively, and well lit atmosphere for those who had troubles, and for the alcohol and service to be nothing but perfection. A home away from home.
"First customer."
As the man returned from the bathroom, looking fresh and hungry, Fane listened to his question with soft, kind eyes. Nodding and smirking, he grazed his chin. In a purely proffesional place, people always seemed to damn stiff to him. As a bartender, he felt it was his job to not only be of service, but to be a friend.
"Owen over there would probably reccomend a steak and a side of rock. Guys like a Goron; haha. Me? I'd say eggs, bacon, some crumplets and a nice tall glass of mead. Sound good?"

[OOC: I should also have replied a bit earlier, so apologies for that.]
Nodding to Fane’s comment and then watching as Thomas approached the bar, Owen’s expression instantly changed to a concrete and welcoming smile as he anticipated exactly what the first customer of the day wanted. Acknowledging the request and listening to Fane’s suggestions in response, Owen took a quick glance up and down of the human customer as he debated what exactly to suggest in particular. From the size of him and the clear indication that he was a working-class young man with what was probably a sizeable appetite, Owen would extend onwards from Fane’s mentioning of the fry-up of eggs and bacon to include a few more inclusions should they be appealing.
”Indeed, both have been pretty well-received recently. If you’re really hungry, we could always add to the eggs, bacon and crumpets with sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and I think we’ve also got some fresh black pudding in today if you’re interested.”
Fane’s suggestion was certainly most appropriate for the breakfast option, which Owen himself would have been likely to suggest. Reaching down for a selection of meads for the customer to choose from, the Hylian lieutenant would set each bottle out in front of the blacksmith for him to choose from, pointing to each one and mentioning its flavour in order.
”We’ve got plenty of fruit meads; blackcurrant (black mead) being my personal recommendation, we also have strawberry and apple. Unless you want something a bit more spicy, or perhaps something to warm your insides a bit, we could also cater for that?”
His knowledge having been gained from more than the brief tutorial from Baal, additionally experienced from numerous drinking sessions with the other Hylian Knights, Owen knew fairly well what the Fairy’s Fountain would have stocked and soon-to-be stocked and had recognised the meads as he had retrieved them from below the counter. There were also far more behind Fane and himself should Thomas want something else.

Thomas would seem lost in a daydream as Fane described what was clearly a delicious full-course meal. A breakfast for the working man who needed fuel to power him for the day ahead, no doubt. The blacksmith was definitely in need of that after what happened earlier today and the cleanup it would require. The man's daydream, however, quickly turned to awe as Own added to his co-worker's suggestions. The Knight even went so far as to display various flavourful drinks to the customer. It took a few seconds of silence for Thomas to close his eyes and slowly shake his head clear.
"Yeah, that all sounds really good," the smithy answered Fane's question with a sad smile. He opened his eyes again after that, needing them to navigate hands to wallet and retrieve the desired contents. His unarmoured right hand deposited a small offering of rupees onto the counter. "I will have the eggs. And a glass of water, please."
Thomas took a second glance down at the very few green rupees laid out before him and quirked an eyebrow.
"At least, I hope I have enough for that much."
Now the human felt bad for, apparently, getting their hopes up for a big order. It kind of showed on his face too. Actually he was regretting asking for his own sake as well. The chance of at least imagining a great breakfast now seemed like it would dilute what he ended up with. Hopefully they were really good eggs.

Fane counted the Rupee's and nodded. Just enough. Smirking and taking the Rupee's in behind the counter, he grabbed a glass for the water and placed it on the counter, preparing to pull some of their spring water into the open and pour his glass. "Just enough. So, how do you want the eggs? And Lemon in the water?"
Fane awaited the answer as he drew the water out from the counter and quickly filled it to the top. The water was fresh and safe, but these days it was typically less expensive to get Alcohol then it was water, considering that not just any water could be pulled up for drinking. Here at the Tavern though, it was relatively cheap. The owner had a good marketing system, Fane figured, allowing them to get it cheap, and sell it cheap.
