Oh, he had never been a fan of large towns. People were always bustling, moving from one area to the next. You saw them everywhere! Traders, workers, shady thieves; there were all types of characters in this incredibly dense castle town. One might be able to go five feet without bumping into someone else if they were lucky. However, the people chose to endure this type of lifestyle- Remis wondered why. As far as his pale green orbs could observe, no one here was relaxed or unconcerned about how fast they got things done. Everything was urgent- absolutely everything! Woe is upon the poor folk who inhabit this stinking town! Remis scoffed inside his own head.
The alchemist walked cautiously in these cobblestone streets. He jumped out of the way of any oncoming people as if they were ghosts. His eyes were fixated on the ground ahead of him- looking for feet, pointy objects, and all sorts of dangerous obstacles that may cause him bodily harm. Was anything safe here? If he even took a step without looking he would bump into someone! He didn't want a fight! Oh, he despised this type of living. However, the man moved forward in the light of the burning sun- excessive green trenchcoat and all. For some reason, he had been forced to make his way to Hyrule Castle Town- apparently dealing with the matters of his former master's estate. Edward, that slimey bastard... Oh, Remis was glad he had been put into prison for at least 30 years.
A few turns coupled with the weaving of a crowd led the alchemist to his destination- a small house of mud walls and a thatched reed roof. This had no doubt been Edward's temporary estate when he had to make trips to Hyrule. How... unbecoming. Why would a revered scholar live in such a foul abode? "Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous." Remis murmured among the bustle of the street behind him. He had been called all the way from his mansion- a 3 days pace away- to deal with this poor excuse for a shack?
"You must be Remis!" A man stepped out of the hut from a curtain door.
The alchemist nodded to this newcomer. "What in the gods' name am I here for?" His tone was demanding and stern, though it did crack once or twice. Curse his erratic mindset- it always manifested itself in his speech!
"Well, do to recent ordinances, we are going to have to tear this estate down unless it made to be more... fitting for a magnificent town such as this." He chuckled in a half-hearted attempt to be friendly. "Do you wish to renovate the land?"
Remis paused for a moment. This was it? Bah. At least it had gotten him away from his multiple books- some of which he was writing, others he was reading. This problem in itself would only take a moment to fix. "Yes... please step aside." The alchemist stepped forward and took a deep breath. The man moved away as he cast Remis an odd look.
The golden charms around Remis' neck and chest began to glow brightly in a deep blue. He knelt down, and pressed both hands to the ground before him. Yes, this would be perfectly fine. Though cobblestone was the top layer of the road, the ground under it was nothing but fine-packed sand from years of repeated impact. The bricks on the road seemed to sink a small amount as the mud-hut of Edward's glowed in the same color of Remis' charms.
The mud moved aside as sand filled the void. It became hard and stiff- though in the form of bricks. The sand in the voids soon turned to glass as a fresh wave of heat blew through Remis' hair, as well as the apparent real estate manager. The glow around the new house faded, and Remis' stood. He turned toward the ordinance manager. "Is it aesthetically satisfactory for you?"
The man took a moment to process what had just happened. He had never truly seen magic in such great use... "Yes, yes my lord." He turned and walked off in a half dazed manner. Remis smiled to himself, pleasant with his solution. Now he could return to his lovely home!

It would appear that the man who was still walking away with a rather blank expression on his face was not the only person who had never witnessed such an act of magic before. It was the first time Owen had ever witnessed the use of alchemy before in his left, let alone the scale of which Remis had just used it and his expression reflected that of a person who was awestruck. Having been leant against a nearby building quite happily minding his own business, his boredom had led his gaze to follow over to the discussion between the alchemist and his previous acquaintance. The lieutenant was aware of the situation regarding the house, albeit only to the extent that it was either to be demolished or renovated, but the manner of which it had just been dealt with certainly surprised him.
Making his way over to Remis who appeared to be admiring the aftermath of his work, Owen would stop alongside him and stare at this new building that had been formed. It was impossible to deny that it was far more attractive to look at than the shack that had been there previously, referring to it as an eyesore would have been a polite method of describing its appearance. Slowly and curiously stepping forward towards the new house itself, Owen prodded one of the glass windows to examine it. This was no illusion, nor was it a trick; it did indeed seem that the man who was probably now watching the hydromancer’s actions was capable of some quite extraordinary magic.
Turning back to face Remis with a rather bewildered expression on his face, Owen stepped forward so that he was directly in front of him, staring him in the face before then looking down at the glass beads around his neck. He had noticed, the glow radiating from them as whatever charm had been used took effect only seconds ago and was more than intrigued as to exactly what they did. What Owen probably should have done, which any normal person would have done in this instance, would be to ask the alchemist how exactly he had performed such a task. Instead, he took an unusually strange tactic of prodding the necklace repeatedly with his left hand, as he observed all of the details of the jewellery.
After several stabbings of the beads with his index finger, Owen then took a step back and looked at Remis’ full profile instead. The Hylian himself had an intriguing posture about himself, his right arm was seemingly slung across the inside of his jacket, covered and out of view as if it was injured, whilst the left arm was as normal within its respective sleeve of the attire, the hand of which was now being used as Owen stroked his chin thoughtfully as he continued to study the young alchemist.
After a few seconds, he would finally address Remis, his tone matching the look of fascination across his face.
”Interesting…”

Freshly prodded and poked, the man clad in an elaborate green trenchcoat eyed the intruder of his privacy with the same expression of curiosity that he had been looked upon with himself. The strange man not only had inappropriate mannerisms, but also a strange attire that even Remis thought was unappealing. Did the stranger have a reason for wearing his clothes like this, or was he merely suffering from some manner of social (or other) retardation? The alchemist cocked his head to the side as he gleamed at what he assumed to be a Hylian through his circular eyeglasses. Not only were people in this part of Hyrule impatient and apparently lacking in intelligence, but they were also rude. Do the poor people of this citadel have no regards for others whatsoever?
Remis straightened his head, took a step backwards, and wiped his gloves off upon each other. The dirt- sand, rather- fell to the ground. The alchemist hated how he always had a small amount of residue upon him from whatever material he was working with. Being unclean was so uncouth, even for a man so erratic as himself! However, he didn't expect anyone around here to know the meaning of clean and proper. Barbarians, they were. How could the sweet princess deal with such poor-mannered followers? Oh, there was a reason she was the ruler and Remis was not! There was an art to dealing with these interesting folk.
However, it was still best to at least seem like one didn't mind the odd mannerisms of the locals. Best not to start unneeded trouble. "My name is Remis- Alchemist and Gentry. It is... a pleasure to meet you, though I don't think prodding someone is a proper way to greet." That was kind enough, wasn't it? Bah, who cared if it wasn't. No one would dare to lay a hand on Remis- the loyal follower of the blazing champion!

Having been unaware that his fascination and surprise at Remis’ actions had caused him to momentarily regress to a rather childish mentality of dealing with his curiosity about what had just happened, Owen was quick to ensure that he apologised for his rather unconventional methods of greeting the alchemist. Assuming from the mannerisms of this person that he was likely far from impressed at the way the hydromancer had introduced himself, confirmed from the comment about the deviant actions he had considered Owen to have taken.
”Sorry, it’s just that I’ve never seen such magic before in my life!”
It was true, Owen had been left dumbfounded by what he had just witnessed and was still getting to grips with the scale of the technique he had just witnessed. It far exceeded most of the techniques and abilities he had witnessed from the residents of Castle Town and its surrounding areas in terms of flair and sheer extravagance, and the lieutenant was certainly intended to find out exactly what he had just experienced first-hand. Assuming from the human’s quick action to dust himself down that he would most likely be unwilling to engage in a formal handshake and risk dirtying himself further, Owen simply announced himself as an introduction.
”Owen Enders, Lieutenant of the Hylian Knights.”
Upon finishing, it would suddenly occur to him that his actions probably reflected negatively on Remis’ opinions of the Hylian Knights. In truth, Owen was possibly the least uptight of the group of lieutenants, certainly not the person to judge the other two from and certainly not a poster-boy for the group in terms of his general approach to other people, which at times was considered rather eccentric. His work ethic and loyalty to the group in parallel was unquestionable. Crossing his left arm over the concealed and slung right arm, Owen then began his questioning of the nature of Remis’ technique, although he suspected he already knew.
”Gotta apologise again, but I’m curious. Exactly what is the nature of your technique? I’ve heard of similar abilities, but nothing quite of the scale of what you just did to that building. I must admit, I didn’t expect to see it refurbished quite like that when I found out it was being renovated!”
