REMIS DE'VIR
THE ALCHEMIST
RACE,
Human
GENDER,
Male
BATTLE ROLE,
Though battle has never been viewed pleasantly by the scholar, Remis will acknowledge that he is best suited for the roles of Defender and Support.
BATTLE STYLE,
Primary: Casual
Secondary: LS
AGE,
28
ALLIANCE,
Remis is one of the three Gentries that serves under the Champion.
PERSONALITY,
Though his intelligence is not something to be questioned, Remis has always been known to be a bit socially awkward. His curious temperament, coupled with his lack of conversational abilities, make him seem like an eccentric character. The alchemist will not hesitate to ask a question no matter the situation- despite how embarrassing it might be more himself or others. Remis seeks truth over all, and will embrace knowledge and wisdom any given moment. However, due to how the interactions between sentient beings work, he is also quite speculative. The alchemist will often second, third, and even fourth guess his work and decisions. He refuses to leave anything undone and without being 100% sure it works. No exceptions.
APPEARANCE,
Though hidden by his layers of garbs and formal attire, Remis is a fairly young individual with a slender build. His body does not have much muscle mass, though it is equally absent of fat as well. He stands 5'8'', always observing his environment with a pair of pale green eyes that peek out beneath his light brown hair. He keeps his hair in the easiest style possible- a bowl cut with untamed hair on either side of his ears. Due to his generally unfashionable style and attire, he's fairly easy to spot in a crowd.
Though he may be lanky and almost seem like a teenager to any who sees him without his loads of garments on, Remis is almost always seen in a large leather overcoat that hangs all the way down to his ankles. Brown Leather padding covers his small neck and shoulders (bolted on with gold rivets). The rest of his overcoat is dyed a pale green, with the exception of the trim- it is un-dyed like the cloth around his upper torso. One may also note the arrangement of belts and charms hanging from his shoulders and necks- but these will be explained more later.
Reference
WEAPONS,
Gauntlets
Though Remis' leather gloves may look harmless, they are actually steel gauntlets covered in brown suede. They can be used to catch bladed weapons, deal a bit more damage when Remis throws a punch, etc. No magical properties.
ITEMS,
Transmutation Charms MAGIC SLOT- NON-UPGRADABLE[/b]
Hanging down from Remis' long overcoat are a set of golden charms that take a variety of forms. Though they make look like the sign of an eccentric wizard, these are in fact special devices crafted by the Alchemist himself in order to perform transmutations and rituals without the need of drawn circles. Also, as a more practical battle use, they act as buffers between Remis and magical attacks. All magical attacks intercepted by the charms are reduced by a significant amount (2 levels in LS) . However, they cannot be used for two posts afterward unless Remis uses an alchemy spell, in which case the charms regain their power and are reduced to a cooldown of one post.
You can have as many items as you like.
ABILITIES,
Alchemy - Phase ChangeOne of the key abilities of any alchemist is that to change the state of a material from a solid to a liquid to a gas, or in the reverse order. Remis may select any nonmagical, inorganic object within fifty yards and alter its state (with or without any change in temperature or heat as he pleases). However, if the object is directly touching anything with a soul (a soul being defined as the inner lifeforce of a sentient, physical being capable of intelligible communication), he will not be able to alter the object. He may only do one phase change per use of this ability due to its toll. When this ability is used, the effects are instantaneous upon the object. As a drawback, Remis must wait two posts before using this alchemy spell again.
Alchemy - Shape ChangeA key component in any true alchemist's arsenal is the ability to alter the shape of an object they please. Remis may alter the shape of any nonmagical, inorganic object within a fifty-yard radius to whatever he desires, as long as the materials he uses are equal to the final product. However, if the object is directly touching anything with a soul (a soul being defined as the inner lifeforce of a sentient, physical being capable of intelligible communication), he will not be able to alter the object. There is no turning a grain of sand into a pyramid here. If Remis wishes to make a wall of stone 10ftx2ftx5ft, he would need to be able to find 100 cubic feet within his 50 yard radius. If Remis performs this spell without the necessary materials, then the product will turn out half-done. When this ability is used, the effects are instantaneous upon the material. As a drawback, Remis was wait two posts before using this alchemy spell again.
Alchemy - Elemental TransmutationThe most difficult aspect of alchemy, though the most necessary, is the ability to alter the elemental components of material. Due to the complexity of this ritual, the effects of this are temporary though this spell may target a larger variety of objects. Remis may target any inorganic object within a 50 yard radius of himself and change the materials which it is made out of to something similar. However, if the object is directly touching anything with a soul (a soul being defined as the inner lifeforce of a sentient, physical being capable of intelligible communication), he will not be able to alter the object. If it was water, for example, he could turn it into wine. If it is steel, it could be made into tin. However, Remis has yet to find a way to make the effects of transmutation permanent. The larger the object, the harder it is for Remis to maintain the effects. Large objects (smaller than a mansion, but bigger than a car) can be transmutated for only 1 post. Medium objects (between a car and a beach-ball) can only be transmutated for up to 3 posts. Small objects (smaller than a beach ball) can remain transmutated up to 5 posts. Remis may perform this spell on up to 1 large object (or 3 medium objects, or 5 small objects) at a time. After the effects have taken place and ended, he cannot use this spell for three posts.

HISTORY,
Remis was born to two human nobles. His father, a knight by trade, knew the trials of war and decided from a young age his son would be educated in the fine arts instead of those of battle. His mother, a tactical real-estate monger, thought it would be better for Remis to also learn something that could earn him a bit of money should the family fortune run out. It was thus decided that upon the age of 10, Remis would be instructed in the ways of alchemy.
The young child was sent to live with a master alchemist- Edward, who dreamed of being able to use his magical prowess to modify living beings (a taboo and forbidden custom in the trade). Remis studied under his master for over fifteen years before catching the man attempting to perform a complicated transmutation on a small hylian child. Outraged, the scholar struck down his master using a crafted weapon. When Edward awoke, he was arrested and his estate was put into the closest of kin- he had none. So it went to his apprentice, Remis. Ever since then, Remis has risen to the ranks of the human nobles as a wonderful scholar and alchemist. He is in charge of logistics and civil duties- after all, war wasn't something he was made for.
