APPEARANCE,

Still a young Twili, Vix hasn't yet grown fully into the elongated proportions of adults and retains some youthful chubbiness. He is short for his age by human standards but average for the Twili. Vix's skin is a deathly pale grey, patterned by his kind's common blue lines on the torso, arms and legs. He has deep red eyes and matching hair, which is largely ungroomed and unkempt.

Vix's attire consists of a black bodysuit wrapped in white bindings along its sleeves, pants and shirt. The sleeves and pants are tucked into his black gloves and shoes respectively, leaving his skin showing only on his face. Over the bodysuit he wears an open robe with short sleeves and light purple-colored lining.

Shadow Veil
This ability allows Vix to occupy any shadow, taking on an incorporeal form, or exit a shadow he is occupying, returning to a physical form. He becomes incapable of affecting anything in return for being unaffectable by the world himself. The act of occupying a shadow will not allow the Twili to avoid harm. Vix can not use this ability while in Shadow Beast form.

Shadow Transfer
Vix can use this ability to teleport to a different shadow while he is occupying one.

Shadow Beast
Vix taps into the racial magic in his blod to transform into a beast-like form of shadows. In his Shadow Beast form Vix's body becomes grey and he loses his arms in exchange for two large wings. Each wing branches off into four black arrowhead-shaped points with four yellow glowing circles and one glowing red spot on each side. These points are very hard and sharp, able to be sued as shields as much as they can be made into weapons like his now opened and razor-taloned feet. The Twili's head becomes closed off and eyeless in this form while a glowing red eye opens where his chest should be. In this form Vix can fly, giving him more freedom of movement. Vix can only remain in this form for a maximum of 5 turns and can not change back in the same turn he activated the ability.

HISTORY,

The Twili are typically a passive, peaceful people. They have adjusted to life in the Twilight Realm and gained a sense of peace over several generations. They take comfort in their stability and enjoy what pleasures they can in life, both from their world and from each other.

Vix has never felt at peace.

Maybe his brain missed the memo that he was a Twili, but Vix has always hated the dark. He finds little comfort in the softly-glowing twilight that so many of his kind bask in and call beautiful. Though still a boy, barely able to be called a man, he has grown tired and resentful of the world. He doesn't know what's wrong, he just knows that something is... missing. Something that isn't darkness or twilight.

His parents tried to keep his mind off of such unpleasant thoughts, of course. They gave him plenty of distractions. They taught him to transform into a Shadow Beast and for a time Vix was pacified by the exhilaration he felt from flying, though other Twili would likely value the serenity of it more than that aspect. It wouldn't keep his mood high for long though so they began teaching him the basics of magic passed down through the Twili from their ancestors. Vix found magic very easy to understand and studying it took up much of his thinking time, keeping it off of that missing element. He quickly found, however, that no matter how much he comprehended it he could not use magic at all. Perplexed by the rarity his parents had him tested and found that he had plenty of magical power within him, but something was sealing it up. No matter what they tried within their limited capacity Vix's family never solved this mystery and soon came to believe that what their boy felt was "missing" had been this all along.

For Vix, though, this explanation didn't sit well. What he felt was wrong had never been with him, or at least not him alone. What he felt was missing was from the world at large, himself being just a part of it that lacked this unnameable thing. Sure Vix had heard of light, but everyone knew that light was a bad thing. It couldn't possibly be what his soul longed for... right?

But then, maybe, if it wasn't here in the Twilight Realm, what he sought was in the legendary Light Realm somewhere. Most Twili were far too pacified by the Twilight Realm to even give thought to leaving it. It was, after all, an almost ideal existence free of worries for most of the inhabitants. Vix wasn't most Twili. There was something he had to find. He didn't know why but passion existed in his heart for this lost quality and he would even seek the Light Realm itself if there was any chance of finding it there.
