Just Throwing Things Out There...

Well, as most, if not all, of you know, most LoZ Bosses, excluding the Main Story Bosses (Ganon(dorf),Twinrova, Vaati, etc.), seem to be of some random design gone overboard, and I was curious if we could have some "Member-made Bosses," Bosses that were designed by one or more members, yet the Staff can make use of them and do with them as they please after they are set up by the members.

I've been thinking of ways to try to help out here since ya'll're a great group of people, and I've been wondering if we could do a few things around here that might help everyone understand that this isn't just a RP forum, it's like a video game where you are the character, and your choices effect everything around you.

I guess I'm a bit sentimental about these things, but I was wondering if we could do something that shows all the characters' character, as in we don't just get glimpses of each, but each character has their own story, their stories just intersect with other characters at set intervals. I know it'd be a lot of work, and a lot of time, but I believe everyone deserves to have their story told.

On this point, I will be the first guinea pig for this, and you can all see where it leads to, as anyone is allowed to join, and I even made a short and sweet Character Back-Story Treaty for anyone else who'd like to try what I'm doing in the future.

As I have not explained enough in my namesake's history, I wish to show his story, through his eyes, as he lived it.
As such, I've been curious about the Back-Stories of all the other characters and how they came about being in these places, meeting these people, and being who they are now.

Apparently, this is a lot of time, effort, and trouble, but, to me, it's worth it, because it lets you see a side of the characters that you couldn't see otherwise, and it adds more depth to the character.

Any of these ideas can be disregarded or flamed, or whatever you people do, but I at least want to hear your thoughts on what I've said.

I want to do whatever it takes to be able to show even casual "gamers" that sites like this aren't just for horsing around and are full of random mini-plots, but are actually capable of telling a story.

Anyway, that about sums it up for me, so I hope to hear something from anyone who thinks any of the above is a good idea, or even those who're against them, and I thank you all for allowing me to be here.

*Raises hand* While I am supportive of stuff like this, it already has applications, and one problem.

Member-created bosses and enemies? Members can create their own Quests to run for others to join and be a part of, or they can even request the Staff to make a Quest for them and supply monster ideas.

Involving them in the plot, I will think about that.

As for giving each member a staring role, I can't do that *Shakes head* People can naturally find out about each character's backgrounds and everything simply by RPing together.

However, to make it part of the plot? #1, that makes them a central figure, something I am trying to avoid doing in the plot. People can have influences on the plot, and the people will control where the plot goes, but as it stands, that's "people", not "a person". #2, it grinds our speed. To make a specific character a focal point means we are 100% reliant on them to keep posting, and if they stop, the plot stops and we have to work around them.


The way the plot is now, everyone can be a star, but no one is required, it has a general direction, but is free to bend and curve with the actions of those involved, the way a plot should be. And believe me, anyone who knows me knows my plots aren't random, they're often parts of a bigger story, like arcs within an anime.

The plot has been ongoing for less than a week, and has only 5 threads to it. Members of my previous boards can guarantee you that it hasn't even started yet, give it a chance before you assume how its going to play out.


I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I actually like your ideas, but while the first is possible, the second one just can't realistically be done on a large scale.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here, but...

If you want to be the main hero in your story, go on some quests. Lead them, have someone else lead them, whatever. Can even have a plotline over several quests. It is whatever you want it to be and the possibilities are endless.

If you want to be involved in something bigger where infinite people are involved, be a part of the forum plot. While you'll never be a main character, if you actually participate and take it seriously and whatnot, you can be important to the plot; there is a difference between being the main character and being important. Not to mention the obvious perk: plots give out better prizes than a quest can provide.

Anyway, on to what I really meant from this isn't that I'd be a main character, I actually wouldn't like all the attention, only that I explain something that isn't directly mentioned, either as of yet, or ever, so I wanted to tell more of what happened from someone else's point of view.
Yet I completely understand, and I'll ask ya'll about anything else in the future. I guess I kinda fell of the helmet there, didn't I?

I'm glad you understand what I meant with the Bosses, and I was only thinking that some of the members could design the bosses and scenarios, but you guys can do the rest.

Truthfully, I hate being the main character...

Anyways, I'm gonna go ahead and remove the SQ thing, and I hope that I can help out some other way someday soon.

ಠ_ಠ The only person I would consider worthy of narrating Night is Don LaFontaine, and he's dead.

Though really, I think the granny talking about the Moonlight Shadow is the narrator. Though, going by her, we could do a branching novelization, or something. That sounds cool.

I am a monster maker. Not a monster rip-offer. I would only design Queen Gohma if I had good justification.

King Gohma on the other hand, seems perfectly reasonable.
