Fane scratched his chin roughly as he examined the makeshift bomb for sale. Amateur, by all means, and quite useless when it came down to it; the fact that the bomb had a thing, inflammable string leading to what smelled like a mixture of sulfur and black powder heavily overdone, meant two things. One, the bomb had a very low of chance of actually going off, and two, the bomb would give little to no power in its explosion. Shaking his head in annoyance, he lifted up his hunched over body and straightened himself, folding his arms.
“Uh….no. His words were crisp and clean with a stoic nature to them.
The courier raised his brow and scuttled his nose. “What do you mean no? What’s your name again? Fane? Who the hell do you think you are?! I was told to make sure you pay up, or its my ass on the line.” The man drew his arm back and smashed it against his hand in a quite intimidating way. The only problem was that he was more or less a chump. Although bigger than Fane in most every way, he held no weaponry and was obviously unintelligent.
As the man rambled, Fane peaked at his surroundings. The alleyway; he could literally scale one of these buildings with ease with them posted up so close to one another. Behind the man, a dumpster of sorts, and in the middle of the alleyway a sewer; two feet behind the man was a piece of lumber, and at this elevation and environment, Fane figured he could sprint for a full mile before his hands began shaking and his legs began burning. Aberrant though it was to figure this entire scenario out and contemplate it, he didn’t use it. As the man rambled on, he finally stepped forth and grabbed Fane by the neck.
“Pay up.”
“Drop me.” Fane grunted. It was followed by a half laugh from the man, before he realized Fane’s standing in the situation. As the man had lunged forth at his throat, Fane had reached behind him, grabbed Veritas, one of his twin ebony flintlock pistols, and slid it under the man’s chin. Slowly, the grip was loosened as a small click resonated through the alleyway, the lever being drawn back. “Tell your boss if he tries to screw me again, send more people.”
The man dropped Fane, and slowly began stepping back. Once he took a few steps back however, he hit the lumber and fell onto his rear. Springing him into more confusion and panic, the fall caused him to instinctively grab the bomb beside him, and turn and sprint off. Fane sighed, before falling into a full sprint behind the man, holding more speed on the larger, less intelligent mind. Just as he reached the edge of the alleyway, Fane tackled him into the main street, where people moved around them and gasped, looking and pointing. “I’ll keep your shitty bomb, for compensation of making me uncomfortable.” The gun was in clear site, and Fane had it directly at the man’s temple. Grabbing the bomb from him, he stood up and gazed around at the surrounding people. They were drawing attention.

((Oh man there is so much derp here I'm sorry))
Philomena loved her trips to the market. It was a busy place with tons of people for her to observe, and there was always something interesting going on. She had bought everything that she needed, and no one had even tried to scam her into paying twice as much! She had even had enough rupees left over to buy herself something, a pale pink scarf that would perfectly match one of her outfits back home. That was enough to put her in a good mood for the time being, and when she reached her room to give her birds their favorite treats, she would be in an excellent mood for the rest of the day.
It was only a short walk from the market to her dwelling, but the crowds had already tapered off. There was still a flow of people going both directions, but it wasn't nearly as big. Philomena walked on the edges of the street to avoid bumping into anyone and embarrassing herself, or drawing too much attention. That didn't seem to make any difference though, when a blur of limbs and curses rolled onto the street right in front of her. She couldn't suppress a small shriek, but that went unnoticed. Everyone else was paying attention to this scuffle as well.
She spied the pistol right away and gasped. What was going to happen? Would there be blood spilled right at her feet? The very thought of it made her feel woozy, and afraid. "Someone call a guard!" Philomena called out to the small crowd. It was almost an automatic response for her, and one that she regretted immediately. If something bad was going to happen, it was going to happen now, and the only purpose her outburst served would be to get the attention of the people that where fighting.
They weren't the sort of people that she wanted to make herself known to.

The Man scattered off into the streets, escaping as quickly as possible and leaving a man whom appeared rather angry and distraught. He needed to get back to his job, but this one was supposed to give him a little bit of a boost with money. It seemed that it wasn’t the case, and he was being scammed, or at least, someone was attempting it. Fane wasn’t dumb, he surely knew his material.
Guards? Better run, Fane.
Valens input sprung through the snow haired man’s head as he gazed at the crowd. Guards would arrest him publically then most likely jail him, and let him go later. He had connections, but they weren’t that good. Fane pulled his gun back into the holster and began walking forth. The girl who yelled for the guards, she would be the one to talk to them. Reaching out, he intended to grab her arm and pull her into the alleyway as he went.
What are you doing?
Shut up Valen, not now.
“Shouldn’t have done that girl; names Fane, learn it, you’re going to be with me for awhile.”

Oh. Oh no no no no no. This was everything that she feared. She had no way to tell if this man was violent or someting else... She took a step back from him, but apparently was not fast enough. She had to hold onto her basket as her other arm was grabbed and she was yanked into the alley. What could she do? She had stupidly left her only defense back in her room, she had just been going to the market after all. But of course, the only time you leave a knife behind is the time that you need it the most.
What to do about this? Screaming wouldn't be wise, that would only make him more desperate than he already was. Inside her head, she was panicking. She tried to put on a calm mask but it didn't really work. Hopefully if she didn't try anything drastic he would let her go... maybe she could try talking to him when he calmed down a bit. That was really the only thing she was willing to risk. She valued her own life more than her immediate freedom.
"I'm sorry, I swear I'm sorry... if you let me go I'll go straight home I promise." That seemed like something that he would want to hear.

He raised an eyebrow and then it suddenly hit him. Sometimes he was...rather dull, and expected others to read his mind. Shaking his head, he tugged at her to walk through the alleyway and to the other street. "I'm not going to hurt you, calm down. I'm going to walk with you, so whatever you were doing today, just add me. I'm gonna make sure you aren't questioned, then I'll let you be."
Stepping out into the street, Fane knew that this was going to be an awkward day. Even more so, dangerous. He should have listened to Valen, and obviously as these thoughts ran through his head, the talented poe knight bound to him through his blade responded.
That you should of, Fane. Now, by taking her as a 'hostage', you've endangered her.
Fane kept his mind clear, and did not respond. This type of communication was through the mind, and was 90% of the time useful. Valen wanted Fane's body at first, when they started out as unwanted partners. Valen was a poe bound to Aarondite, the blade Fane wields, and Fane wished to tame Valen. Eventually, he did in a way, partly so because Valen took a liking to Fane. That was all history however.
Spitting onto the ground, he released the female and offered a strangely awkward smile, but gentle all the same. What the hell was he going to do. "And your name?"

He...... he wasn't going to hurt her? That was something that she hadn't anticipated. Oh. He just wanted to make sure he didn't get caught, then? WHY did she have to react that way? She should have thought things through more... this is what happens when people jump into things without thinking! They get into trouble, or yanked into an alley by someone who is trying to avoid trouble.
Maybe he just acted without thinking too. NO! She couldn't start justifying his actions. No, she can't start sympathizing with him. There was no excuse for this!
He was going to stick with her, then? Just keep doing what she was doing? No way. She had been planning on going home, but she wasn't going to bring him there! She couldn't let this criminal know where she lived! This criminal, Fane, whatever his name was. She was really too shaken to pay attention to things like that. She was still trying her best not to show it.
"Um. My name is Phil-" NO! Telling him her name was a bad idea! That seemed almost as bad as leading him to her home.
