Link Applications

Alright ladies and gentlemen, its been decided that we're going to let a normal member take hold of Link.

Now, I'm going to say this plain as day; Link is not the Hero of this plot. Can he be? If you try your hardest, yeah, but that's true of anyone on this board. Afterall, if 20 people all partake in 90% of all Plot Threads, Plot Bosses, Plot Dungeons, Plot Quests, Plot Battles, anything and everything that has the word "Plot" in it, those people are probably going to be highly regarded lol Doesn't matter who they are or anything, ACTIVITY makes you a star in this Plot, not who you are.

This is why we've been hesitant regarding Link, we don't want anyone to assume he is the Hero automatically just because he's the canon hero.

Anyways, to the main thing you're all interested in:

In order to become Link, you must send a Sample RP to me, Wilder, via my "admin" account. Send to anyone else and I won't count it. Send more than one and I won't count any except the first.

The Sample RP has no restrictions, it can be as long or short as you want, but we'll be judging on how Link-like you are, that's it. Post quality won't factor in unless its god awful lol

We'll then hold "Blind Votes" on which Sample RP is the best, none of the Staff save myself will know who is who to ensure fairness.

Of course, Link counts as a Canon Character and all that implies.

And that's it, really simple.


As for Link himself; as stated before, plot-wise we are at the start of Twilight Princess, this means Link is still in Ordona. His history is pretty basic and will be pretty much stick to canon, so consider that already written for you lol Also, no Master Sword or anything for the moment. Now, the big question: Link can talk, if you want. If you want to have Link talkative or silent, it is entirely your choice, and I personally promise it will have no influence on whether or not you get him.


You have a week from today (This is the 22nd, means that this wll be closing the 29th) to send me a Sample. We'll hold a vote and hopefully we'll have a Link before August starts.

At the behest of a couple of new members and the staff, I'm extending this contest another couple of days; the contest will now end July 31st at midnight, meaning August 1st will be the day we announce who is the new Link.

Now, the main reason why the staff are asking for an extension is simple; a lot of applications did, well...Pretty much did the same thing lol So we're asking for variety! If you sent in a Link app, we're going to allow you to submit a second entry in a different situation, an unusual situation, Link may find himself in. Now, keep in mind, this should still be just a Sample RP, not a Sample Story lol We just want it as if you were replying in the middle of a thread in which Link gets robbed by a passing thief or something.

If you don't want to submit another entry and think your previous one does enough merit, we guarantee we won't hold it against you, so don't feel pressured.

To those who will be submitting their very first submissions, we won't hold you only sending in one against you either (Duh lol), but we do request that you think of something unique! Don't wanna fall into that similar category too lol

Alrighty ladies and gentlemen! We have a winner~

Our forum's first, and hopefully last, Link is:

Warrior!

Warrior is a new member on the forum, one of the ones who had IMed me on MSN asking for an extension, so luckily for this guy, choice to prolong the entries a weekend more proved to be fruitful.

Now, if Warrior cannot stay active, or is simply a horrible Link in an actual RP situation, we will be handing him to our second choice, and it will flow down the line as necessary. Of course, this is a worse-case scenario (Goddess willing lol), but I'm just letting the others who applied know.

Also, everyone who auditioned for Link will receive 15 Rupees as a consolation prize and a thank you for trying. This reward has already been given at the time of this post *Finishes up* lol

We'll work with Warrior in the creation of Link and he should be up soon to join you all!
