[bg=161616]Racial: The Dragon King
[bg=252525]Nightmare is the Monster Emperor. As you would expect, the Monster Emperor is naturally the strongest monster, and Night's true form is proof of that. Night's true form is that of a massive black dragon, 40 ft high on his hind legs, and 20 ft wide. 50 ft wide when stretching his wings. In this state, Nightmare is naturally, a dragon, and as such, is hard as balls to beat. However, the reality is, the dragon is his NATURAL form. Here are his racials.
Human Form
Instinctively learned as an infant, Nightmare is able to freely switch between his natural form and his human form. When in human form, he can use his other slots, namely, his ring and any other magic slots along with the Ultimate Shield. However, he can't hold it forever, and when he gets directly involved in a battle a countdown starts
In battle: Duration of 5 turns
Cooldown: 5 turns
When not fighting: Duration of Unlimited (Blade Works)
Nightmare can stay in human form during a battle for 3 turns beyond the duration up to a total of 8 turns. However, doing so results in the inability to access his dragon form for the remainder of the thread.
Power
Nightmare is a few dozen tons of solid, sheer muscle in his dragon form. As such, I don't care if you're Link, Azler, Rwaht, or even Nightmare Darklight. You will feel it if he gets a direct hit in. Against an unprotected opponent, a direct hit from Dragon Night deals 2 damage in LS terms. Due to being big, and slow though, the first action slot for LS is used to get ready for the blow, with the second being the actual blow.
Flight
Being a winged dragon, Nightmare can fly.

[bg=161616]Leader: The Dragon King MK II
[bg=252525]
Dragonfire
Being the King of the Dragons, Night's the most powerful of them all. Nothing shows this better than his dragonfire. Nearly every dragon can breathe fire, and this is Night's. However, Night's dragon fire isn't red, or orange, or blue, but white. It's insanely hot, and is nothing short of devastating. Against people who have taken no precautions to protect themselves magically, being caught in the blast causes severe damage. In LS terms, an unprotected person will take 2 damage. In LS terms, the first action slot is used to charge up the blast, with the second action slot used to fire. Also, it has a range of 30 ft.
Leader Upgrade: Dragonhide
Nightmare's hide is extremely resistant and hard to pierce. It can cause normal swings and even weak spells to bounce off. However, this only applies to the top. His underside is still soft and squishy, and thanks to his massive size, it's not hard to hit under there. He's best targeted when he has the high ground or when he's flying. In LS terms, Nightmare's dragon hide can negate any attacks worth 2 points of physical damage or 1 point of magical damage if it hits anything but his underbelly.

[bg=161616]Plot: The Drossling
[bg=252525]Adorable little critter, isn’t he? For such a small guy, the Drossling is fairly tough, and has three levels of health; while he can be targeted by enemies, any damage he takes above moderate from any one attack is automatically reduced to moderate. But all those lights on him aren’t just for show. As a matter of point the little guy contains within him raw, unadulterated power, and while it may take a more direct path in the future, for now he only knows to do whatever he’s told. Whenever his owner has an action which does not damage, protect, heal, or buff/debuff anyone, the Drossling will be able to take one action, whenever his owner chooses, as long as it isn't on the same turn that the Drossling received that slot. When he does so is completely up to his owner, but he can only ever have one action available to him; after he uses one action, he cannot do anything until he gains another one. When he does, he may take one of three actions; these actions are, again, at the choice of his owner.
Pure Chaos
The gem resting in its nose glowing black as a brief warning, the Drossling summons an explosion of magical energy on its target, dealing heavy damage, and knocking them in or out of range, as its owner chooses.
Widespread Destruction
The Drossling lets out a small cry, then the gem on its nose glows a bright red and forked lightning streaks from the sky, striking as many targets as its owner chooses for moderate damage; it cannot target any one enemy more than once. All targets suffer a disorienting effect, as well; in LS, this means they cannot Guard or Manoeuvre in their next post.
Heart of Virtue
The Drossling is bound fiercely to its master, and will give anything up for that individual to continue fighting. The Drossling lets out a low, gentle chirp, then the gem in its nose glows brightly green, then black, then white again: after it does so, the Drossling loses all health, while its owner receives massive healing. If this healing would restore them past their normal health, any extra health is instead transferred to a light-shield, which will block as much damage as extra health would have been produced, before it is destroyed (it basically gives him extra health).
Magic Slots

[bg=252525]
A 4 foot long... longsword. Silversnake seems to always be on Nightmare, and he's very protective of it. The blade shines and glistens like silver. It rests in a sheath, mostly wrapped in leather, however, both ends of the sheath seem to be made of silver, so it's high class for sure. Ironically, trying to steal Silversnake is actually one of the few berserk buttons that Nightmare has, as it's very precious to him.
A gorgeous dagger that had been gifted to him by Zelda. With an ornate 10 inch long blade, Nightmare has no trouble hiding it somewhere for quick access. As a little extra from Zelda, the weapon is a rather unique piece of work, with the blade, the handle, and the sheath having some gold dust thrown in, though the gold dust is really only apparent on the sheath and handle. Its curved blade enhances slicing capabilities, and its unique point gives it little trouble when trying to puncture flesh.
A bow that Nightmare uses. The Pashupatastra is a simple black bow that shoots arrows. That's about it. Nightmare does however, keep a quiver of 15 arrows strapped to his right thigh.
Claws
Accessable only in dragon form. Extremely sharp claws and talons on his wings, elbows and... well, claws.
Aglar
The Evenstar
An abolutely gorgeous crown that Nightmare owns. He keeps it under lock and key in his house, buried under the house, which he can access by removing a floorboard. The crown is precious to him, and it has practical meaning. The crown itself is made of pure silver, laced with gold and crystal, making it immensely valuable. If Nightmare were to ever sell it, he would never have any money problems ever again.
The Evenstar
A necklace that Nightmare wears around his neck. Terrible for stealth, but it's an eye catcher. Made from silver and crystal, the evenstar gleams in the light and is immediately noticable. The necklace carries immense sentimental value to him, and he hates to be seperated from it.
[bg=252525]
Ultimate Shield
The finest example of Immovable Object. The Ultimate Shield is something that puts a stop to almost all physical attacks. By immediately hardening his skin into well, hardened carbon. Nightmare is able to become a frightening tank. During this state, in LS terms (as that's all people care about), all physical damage is reduced by two. In casual terms? "HAHA, GOOD LUCK SUCKER" is the way to put it. If you're trying to be a badass normal, well, then it sucks to be you. However, there is a way to stop it.
It's possible to short circuit the whole thing and cancel it out, punishing Nightmare himself. If you hit him with an actual spell, not something like weather control or anything stupid like that, you can immediately end the Ultimate Shield. Which is even worse if Nightmare's been using it a lot.
You see, Nightmare can keep it active as long as he wants, and as a result, there's a 1 turn cooldown for every turn it's used. However, if it's canceled via magic, the cooldown is doubled. If Night say, used this for 10 turns before deactivating it on his own, it'd have a 10 turn cooldown. However, if a mage caused it to short circuit, that 10 post cooldown would become 20 posts. However, once again...
Singeing his clothes and calling it a hit won't count.
Using aerokinesis to create a gentle breeze and say that Night can feel it won't count.
Hitting him with a lit torch won't count.
Has to be an actual hit.
Magic Weapons are a tricky business, because they are both physical and magical. Night's shield as a result, can only compensate for half. If someone with a fire sword that deals one point of damage hits him, Nightmare will stop the blow in its tracks, but still take 0.5 damage. This is because while he can stop the swing, he still takes the damage from the fire. The reason for this is that his body still defends against the blow itself, but the fire damage is able to ignore the shield.
Enhanced physical attacks, like a punch from a guy who cast a buff on himself to increase his strength, will deal damage to him, though the damaged will be lessened to about half of what it would normally be, depending on how strong the buff is. However, this is unique in that in some cases, the enhancement won't be counted as magical.
Magical Weapons and Enhanced Physical Attacks are the only two types of magical attacks that won't cause an immediate short circuit.

Ash nazg durbatuluk,
Ash nazg gimbatul,
Ash nazg thrakatuluk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.
A ring of Nightmare's own personal creation, the Master Ring (or the One Ring, the Ring of Power, or just the Ring, any will do) is an immensely powerful artifact that while seeming small and simple when on a normal person, is quite scary with Nightmare. Particularly because he knows how to use it. The Ring has only one real effect, though it's something that he can use to absolutely devastating effect to make him even more dangerous. It doubles all his physical attributes in casual style. In LS terms, as that's apparently what all the "hip" young 'uns are doing, his damage goes up by half a level. The end.
However, whenever Nightmare exerts its power, it tends to glow, brightly. Like, if you somehow don't notice the glowy shiny ring, you deserve to die forever.

[bg=252525]Appearance
Due to his lineage, Nightmare has a bit of a boost to his human appearance. To be frank, Nightmare is nothing short of otherworldly, with looks that would give a certain Hylian Hero a run for his money. With somewhat fair, lightly colored skin, with blue eyes and blonde hair, he completes it all with a nicely toned body. He stands at a fairly decent height of 6'0 and weighs in at 72 kg. With all this, Nightmare looks like he came right out of a bishoujo anime.
This is what Nightmare wears when he is off being badass and singlehandedly wiping out armies of bosses. Frankly, it doesn't look nice at all. It looks like something straight out of a horror film, something you would see on someone over with the forces of evil. That's the idea. It does help though. It's form fitting, and it provides light protection. The outfit itself consists well crafted leather, not for looks, but to provide actual protection. Claw rings that can be slipped on and off the fingers are often seen on his hands as extra weaponry. Four strips of cloth fall from the waist for aesthetic purposes. Lastly, it has a helmet with a filter and a visor. While Nightmare doesn't like wearing it as it obstructs his vision somewhat, he will if he knows there's smoke or he's up against someone who can blind people.
Ignore the bearded face, I couldn't find a decent costume only picture of it. Surprisingly, Nightmare does have formal wear. Even then, the formal wear is battle ready. With a black leather jerkin with a gold and white tree adorning the chest, accented by chainmail gauntlets with light steel plating and a pair of pauldrons. With chainmail greaves and light steel plating on the boots, Nightmare is decently protected. To accomodate the looks, he wears a velvet cloak with a red color scheme on the inside.
Nightmare is in actuality, a dragon. Not just any dragon, the Dragon King. The Monster Emperor. As such, Nightmare's monster form is the absolute, uncontested strongest beast in Hyrule. A massive black dragon, 40 ft high when standing on his hind legs, just a little over half a football field. He's 20 ft wide as well, the size of a pretty decent house, 50 ft wide when stretching his wings. Plates of dragonscales and dragon hide cover his body, and his appearance strikes fear into the hearts of his opponents. Even the dauntless must be forced to face such a leader.

Personality
With a name like Nightmare Darklight and a effectively having to fend for himself, you'd probably be expecting him to be broody, cold, dark, evil, that whole thing. Well, you couldn't be more wrong. Despite all shock and horror, Nightmare is in fact a human being with human feelings. He doesn't constantly reflect on some mistake or some tragedy. Yeah, if a tragedy comes by he might be depressed for a little bit. But he'll eventually accept it and move on.
He's also arrogant, very arrogant, but even that tends to be overshadowed at times in that he is essentially a troll. He'll constantly twist one's words, even an outright insult, and either turn them against the person giving him a hard time or make him look like the good guy. Needless to say, he's good with words. Failing that, he just shrugs, stops caring about what the person has to say, and moves on. If it comes to it, he has no problem just walking away. He's a rather cheerful troll.
He is somewhat fidgety. While he's talking, don't be surprised if he makes a few motions during the whole thing, whether it be something as small as leaning back or waving a hand in a dismissive manner, to full blown theatrics. Granted, he usually saves the full blown theatrics for something he finds ridiculous, or if he's just mocking someone. Yep, even his quirks help portray him as a jerk.
Boredom comes quickly. Frankly, if something stalls, it won't be long before he starts voicing displeasure about the situation. At first, it'll start with a few non verbal cues, then he'll start getting vocal about it. It can get rather annoying for those that have to put up with him throughout the entire ordeal.
Nightmare is extremely intelligent however. Able to effectively second guess someone else and get in their head, and figure out the answer to a problem rather quickly. He actually applies this to his line of work, showing that despite his jackassery and impatience, Nightmare can be an extremely tactical, calculating, and methodical man, often effectively predicting what his opponent will do, simply by the situation. An example would be creating a deliberate opening, making it look accidental, then when the opponent pounces on it, pounce on them.
One thing you may notice about him though, is that he seems to have a medium awareness of sorts. No, he's not the kind to go around shouting "NONE OF YOU ARE REAL!" but he will react, even if it's small to things that most people normally wouldn't pick up on. If you tell him your parents are dead, he won't react like a normal person. He'll instead mock you relentlessly, and declare that he has dealt with dead parents so many times it's gotten old.
He's also a bit of a motor mouth. If he has the chance, he will talk and talk and talk with the utter inability to shut up. He also tends to be somewhat polite most of the time. Even it's during a contract, he'll be polite, and maybe have a bit of friendliness. The phrase "Hello! This is the part where I kill you!" probably isn't too far off the mark.
Frankly put. You either love him or hate him.
History
God I hate these. Nightmare was born to two loving parents in the village of Kakariko, as a dragon. However, despite what the reptilian expert Ondore would have you know, dragons are able to give birth in the mammilian fashion. Of course, they didn't name him Nightmare. Any parents that name their kids Nightmare should have their kids taken away. Rather, it was Alexander.
I mean, it's not like he has any kind of secret that would make him dark and mysterious. Or tall, dark and handsome. I mean, he's already exceptionally handsome, and somewhat tall, so I guess you could say he's ok. MOVING ON DAMMIT.
With his sister, named Cassie, he was what you might call... overprotective. Cassie was always extremely popular among the boys, and seemed to be the only real exception to the "girls are gross" mindset of young boys. Nightmare however, being overprotective, would always chase them off in increasingly traumatizing manners. Eventually though, he would grow out of it. Kinda. Just don't talk to him about dating his siter.
Anyway, there wasn't much of an eventful childhood, not one you'd want to hear. The only thing of interest being he figured out how to turn into his human form fairly quickly. Other than that, he just got some training with a sword and some unarmed combat lessons from a tutor, but that's pretty much it. Nightmare grew up, was a kid, and at age 15, was sent off to the military academy. It was there that he discovered his knack for warfare. Tactics, military training in several different areas of combat, Nightmare excelled at the academy, as he came to realize, he was one for the battlefield. One to excel.
At age 18, he graduated with extremely high marks, and was immediately placed in the military at the rank of a Sergeant. For four years he helped keep the peace, whether it was helping bring crooks to justice or actually being dispatched to take care of any insurrections.
After those four years, at 22, he was allowed to leave, and he did. Considering the world his oyster. However, shortly after, he was seriously wounded after being caught off guard. One would think Rangers would try to help, but nooooo, they shot him and almost sent him into tragedy mode. However, he managed to escape, and had been eventually picked up by one Aerith Gainsborough.
For six months, he stayed with with Aerith to recuperate and try and pay her back. He'd never admit it, but he actually enjoyed staying with her. One day, after teasing her on her flowers, he got her a nice basket, though he denied any involvement with it.
After those six months though, he couldn't take it anymore. He was a motherfucking dragon, he had to spread his wings! He told Aerith he was leaving, and the next day, he did, but not before getting a kiss from Aerith. He'd never really admit it, but that was his first kiss. Surprising, I know. Even then though, throughout those six months, he had kept his dragon side hidden.
Shortly after that, Nightmare killed the Emperor and his Lieutenants in an epic battle that will be shown in a quest, and then eventually linked back here when it's done.
And then they made him their king!
The first thing to happen, was that he was shown the treasury, large enough to match the absolutely massive treasury sitting in Hyrule Castle. Immediately, his dragon side took over, and he transformed. With a room large enough to hold him, and piles of gold large enough for him to sleep on, Nightmare immediately took a nap. On the treasure.
They say he has yet to actually use his bed.
Since then, he's been ruling the monsters. Nightmare's rule has been rather unique in that no one's challenged him yet. Wiping out the previous emperor and all his lieutenants, singlehandedly and at the same time seemed to dissuade a few possible assassins.
