. . .or Night, depending on how you looked at it. The sun was setting quickly on this little path she had stumbled upon, but one thing was for certain: Slaughter was starving; she had not eaten a proper meal since the night she left home. The petite, pale skinned girl grimaced at the thought. She remembered it all so vividly when her father passed, leaving behind nothing but a husk and a myriad of painful memories that would not soon let her be at peace.
And where was she anyway? I think the bigger question is where am I going? The thirst for change can be a misleading desire, and one that can bring about more harm than good at times. But what else was the girl to do? Stay at that home with her father's decomposing body? No, she had struggled until dawn digging him a proper grave. She had paid her respects to the man who took care of her and all loose ends were tied up. Not that there were many to tie up. Usually there aren't when you live in a remote, rural area like the home her father raised her in. Now there was nothing left to do but to find something to do! She supposed she would travel to the towns, there must have been some nearby with inhabitants. Oh, how long it had been since she had made a special friend! Much too long, she mused nostalgically as she began to slow her walking pace. It seemed there was something else ahead. "A large town perhaps? I've heard rumors . . ." But as the girl closed the gap, she began to notice that what she had stumbled upon was nothing more than a tiny village. "Oh, I see."
Suddenly, Slaughter's lips began to quiver slightly. She didn't feel particularly cold, however a deep seeded fear was beginning to swell inside of her. She didn't want to have to beg for food, for accompaniment. She couldn't take such humiliation. And so, the dainty little blonde made her way to a large tree not too far off. She wished she could identify the type of tree, but she couldn't. Ignorant and naive as always, she thought with a click of her tongue as she sat down with a plop! and looked up at the darkening sky. She traced her index finger along her now tattered white dress, and secretly hoped and fantasized that somebody would come find her here. She supposed if no one did, it wouldn't be the end of the world. She was used to waiting, after all. Always waiting.

Pictures of you, pictures of me on upon the wall for the world to see.
It was good to be home. That was the first thought that entered the young man's head. In truth he wasn't techincally home as his small village was a bit further from here. But still just being in the Ordona providence felt great!
He managed to bag a good kill of a Bulblin, managing to take the rupees off of it after slaying it. Even with the monster's blood splattered on his clothes he seemed oblivious to the world as he smiled walking down the path with his new bag of rupees in hand.
Opening his once closed eyes he blinked as he noticed a young girl, well maybe not THAT young but young nonetheless... Curiosity taking a hold of him he walked up to the girl under the tree as he grinned looking down at her. "Heya! You alright over here? You look kinda lonely!" He said as he gestured towards her.

"H-hey! I'm not lonely!" the girl sputtered out unwittingly. Speaking before thinking: definitely not one of her strong suits. She could tell what the stranger approaching her was thinking, feeling: empathy. She always got it out of new people that she met, most likely due to her rather tiny stature. But the girl was not all that young. Standing at no more than five feet tall, the blonde haired female's looks could be deceiving. However, she was eighteen years old-- what an appropriate age to be leaving home. "I'm sorry. Don't mind me, I'm just a bit tired . . . and hungry. And I suppose I am bit lonely." For an ephemeral moment, the girl let her guard down. She definitely was not used to spilling her thoughts out as if someone had just shot an arrow through her head. Yet, here she was, doing just that.
She immediately stood up, her footing a bit shaky, but she tried not to let her fatigue show. After all, she could not automatically assume that this person was a friendly one. Slaughter instinctively reached a hand towards her katana, just in case. "Is there something you want from me? Are you a denizen of this village?"

Freyr just smiled his eyes a bit wide as he put his hands up in defense. "I was just wondering is all." He put his hands down as he grinned. This girl looked like she needed help. She looked like a breeze could knock her over at any minute. Noticing her sword he blinked. Freyr didn't think there were many eastern style blades in Hyrule! Oh! That made him feel less unique! Oh well, he wasn't very original in the first place! He chuckled at that thought.
"Um... no I'm actually from the village over." He said answering the girl's question as he scratched the back of his head in thought. "H-Hey! You don't need to be defensive! Please put that sword away!" He spoke a bit nervous not wanting a conflict especially with pretty young girl... "Hey... I have rupees! I can buy you some food!" He said with a grin as he gave her an offer. "It's the least I can do! I don't want to see such a pretty face go hungry!" He said not realizing that he sounded like he was flirting- and truely he wasn't. But since he didn't know there was no doubt Augusta wouldn't know either.
Oh boy.

If the boy was worried about seeming too foward, it was in vain. As soon as Slaughter's brain processed the word food, her heart lit up. Her happiness manifested itself into the biggest smile, and the widest eyes. Her pupils dilated in excitement as she let her hand retract itself from her sword. Surely this person couldn't mean any harm! Surely he really did just want to help! "You'd really do that for me? Really?" Slaughter didn't know what it was, bt she suddenly felt this huge wave of nostalgia and raw emotion surge up inside of her. "I am s-so hungry! You don't know what I've been through, M-mister! M-my father, he j-just recently . . . I haven't e-eaten for days . . . Thank you!" At this point, Slaughter didn't care if this person was a threat or not. She was going to die either way, from starvation or from homicide. So she might as well take the risk.
Now the only thing to think about was what kind of food she was going to get. Hopefully this little village would have something tasty! Oh, but wait--
"O-oh. I'm sorry. I didn't catch your name?"
The female's pale cheeks immediately turned a deep vermillion. How shameful to accept an offer from another without so much as asking for their name! "H-how rude of me . . . "

Freyr smiled, poor thing must be exhausted and starving by now. Well- here that was going to change! "Sure! I don't see anything harmful in helping a pretty girl!" Again with the unintentional flirting...
He grinned as he attempted to help her so he wouldn't fall down or anything. "I'm Freyr! Well my full name is Freyr Kendra Welsh but that's a mouthful so Freyr's just fine!" He smiled but his eyes showed deep concern for the young woman.
"I know there's an inn that will let you eat and rest for a few rupees! Come on, I'll take you there." He said as he urged Slaughter to move with him at a slower pace. Didn't want her more exhausted than she needed to be. "Oh! I didn't catch you're name either! What should I call you miss?"
[feel free to take control of Freyr so they can get to the inn]

"An inn? Oh, no that won't be necessary!" Slaughter sputtered out. As nice and nostalgic it was to have stumbled upon such a quaint little civilization, she had to keep moving. For what, she wasn't sure. It was an odd feeling, all things considered. This strange force that kept pushing her to move forward. She really had no set destination, and it wouldn't really have mattered if she stayed one night and rested. However, the atmosphere didn't seem right. Hell, it wasn't even the atmosphere-- she didn't feel right. There was no way she could sleep at a time like this. Her mind was aflame with countless thoughts bouncing off her cerebrum like firecrackers. Even if she closed her eyelids, she would get no rest. "I understand if you withdraw your offering for food, but I really can't stay long! I have to get to the main town." The little blonde began to twiddle her thumbs nervously, mind continuing to accelerate in hopes that . . .
"Oh, but my name is Slaughter, by the way!"

"Eh?" He blinked at her declining of rest. Everyone needed rest! It was necessary when traveling! After rest you become more alert and able to defend yourself properly. You never know when hostile monsters could show up and strike! "Uh- are you sure? I mean it would be a good idea to rest, even if it were for an hour or two!" His voice was thick with concern losing it's cheerful edge. He wasn't sure why she was so persistent but running on no sleep was dangerous and unhealthy... "Well- atleast let's get you some food miss Slaughter." He offered a soft smile on his face.

"Some food would be nice, but I'm on a special travel, sir!" All of this felt really nice, Slaughter had to admit. It could not have been more than 48 hours since the girl departed her lifelong home, and she was thirsty for some type of social interaction. Something, anything to fill that void your lost loved one left behind, right? The girl's bright blue irises lit up in excitement as she wondered what kind of food they could provide for her in the village. Surely there wouldn't be much of it, but at this point anything would be good! She was however, not budging on the issue of staying the night. Sleeping at this particular time in her life would not be easy, and she did not plan on wasting precious hours. "Do you know somebody who resides in this village? Or a public place?"

Freyr couldn't help but worry. Though he seemed cheerful enough the worry was thick in his mannerisms. He tried to hide it but the girl was probably aware of his concern. The Monster slayer felt a instinct bubble in his chest. He had no siblings as a kid, he was an only child. He never experienced what it was like to have someone there to love and care for. Sure there were his parents but they really didn't count in this kind of situation... Seeing the young woman so weak from hunger but still holding that defiance sparked something within his chest. A desire... a desire to protect... Was this what it felt to care for a sibling? Pushing the thought away even as the feeling didn't leave he mustered up a smile. He was surprised when he realized through his musings his body was on autopilot and they were already heading towards the village's signature pub. "I don't know any people around here no. But I do know a place to eat. It's a nice pub that serves good food and drink." He pointed down the road. "It's right there to the left. Come'on~" He urged as they headed towards the building intent on a good meal. He wanted this feeling to last, at least until they parted ways.. It felt... good.

The young girl was surprised by this stranger's affection, but she appreciated it greatly. Something about this person attempting to watch over her so kindly reminded her of the way her father used to take care of her and provide for her. It was nice, to say the least. He had no reason to do this, other than because he wanted to do good for somebody else.
"Thank you for this . . . Really. . ." She trailed off. For some reason she was beginning to feel increasingly overwhelmed; she could feel the tears building up behind her eyelids. It was a warming feeling that she had inside of her. It was hope, a hope that there was something more to live for. Perhaps she was taking the stranger's generosity out of context, but she couldn't help it. "So--er-- Freyr . . . What is it that you're doing in this village anyway? Are you on an adventure as well?" she inquired as she began to follow. She was becoming increasingly excited with each step. Food was definitely something that made her happy!

"Hehehe." He beamed. "No problem~" As they walked over towards the pub Freyr smiled feeling this fluttering warm feeling in his chest again. So this is what it was like to feel needed by someone? "Adventure?" He echoed. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Yeah you can call it that." 'Truthfully it's just a way to survive...'
He thought with a mental sigh. "I hunt monsters for a living. Only the bad ones though!" He explained before grinning a bit prideful. "I've ben in the Monster Slaying business for two years now!~" Blinking as he realized that they were now at the Pub, he opened the wooden door as he ushered her inside. "Here we are.~"
The room was quiet with a few people talking quietly to others and people eating and drinking. The atmosphere wasn't intimidating it was actually pretty cozy! "Let's get some food shall we?" As Freyr took the Oocca girl over to a small empty table for two.

"Monster slaying you say?" Slaughter asked rather distracted, already savoring the taste of the food on her tongue a bit prematurely. Though it did peak her interest; it would be nice to get training like that and be able to defend herself against those kinds of creatures.
The petite young blonde hurriedly made her way to the table the male had gestured to and took a seat. She removed her sheathed katana from her waste and gingerly placed it next to her, where she could constantly keep close watch over it. "Where do you find bad monsters anyway?" she asked again, growing increasingly eager to continue the topic. The girl was beginning to feel the consequences of growing up quite sheltered. Though she knew the basics of how to defend and how to fight, it was quite rough around the edges, much in the style of a delinquent who just liked to start fights out on the street. Obviously she was going to have to shape up just a tad if she wanted to survive out in the world alone.
