Every day is exactly the same. From the start of the day until the end, get up for work, monitor the perimeters, and then return back to her post. Everything had to be in order, everything, and Faylla would not have anything be out of place. Her perfectionism was to the point of obsession - always needing to either fix the hem of her dress or playing with a couple of strands of her sunset yellow bangs so that the curls fell perfectly to shape her face.
Everything had to be in order, including her surroundings, which overall appeared normal for the most part. She could feel the form of the stony pavement underneath her standals as she traveled in a leisure manner through Dusk Town as if one of their own ordinary citizens. It was so much easier to blend in with the crowd; criminals did not suspect a thing if you're blending in with the bystanders. Strapped onto her back was but a simple sitar which she carried around affectionately wherever she went. A musician was nothing without her instrument, and should she felt the need to play, all she'd have to do was sling it off, and tune it up.
Quietly, she began crowd watching, finding a good spot to perch herself inconspicuously within view of everything going on at the moment. All was calm, and tranquil just as Faylla liked it to be. Though she knew better than to indulge in her own personal pleasures knowing that they'd easily be taken away from her.

Terezi wasn't lost. She wasn't allowed to be lost. It would me a shame to her position and everything that she stood for if she was found to be wandering aimlessly while trying to find her way back to the castle. She was a guard, one who was SUPPOSED to be constantly available and ready to take up arms if the situation called for it. No, she wasn't lost. She was just taking a walk. Yup, that's it. Taking a loooong walk.
It was a good thing that she wasn't dressed like a Guard at the moment, she appeared like any normal Twili to those who did not know her. No one around wherever she was knew her, she couldn't smell anyone that she knew. There didn't seem to be any landmarks that she recognized either. It was at times like that that Terezi really resented not being able to sense her world as far as everyone else could. Terezi was beginning to become desperate. Soon she would have been gone long enough for people to start wondering, but not necessarily worrying. Her responsibilities outweighed her own well-being in this equation. It had always been like that, and it would never change. This wasn't something that she minded, she liked it in fact.
Terezi wasn't to the point where she would ask some random passerby to show her back to the castle, but she was pretty close. She walked down the streets, and the other Twili knew to move out of her way because of the cane that she held. She wasn't using it to find her way, that would be useless. Terezi was about to turn down an alleyway until she smelled something that seemed somewhat familiar. She had to think for a second where she had smelled that WONDERFUL SMELL OF SUNLIGHT AND WATER before. She had almost reached the other twili when she remembered, this was a twilight messenger! Yes, she was sure of it! With a little convincing, she could probably get back to the castle in no time at all. Terezi couldn't contain her smile as she reached out to grab a handful of Faylla's hair. "Have I ever mentioned how amazing your hair is? Uh, well, hi. I don't suppose you'll be going back to the castle any time soon."

For the most part, Faylla was quite glad that nobody took much notice to her, it was just easier that way. Easy to monitor the moves of those who tried to break the law, or craft crooks who tried to smuggle in illegal items into the city. They could hide in their little mouse holes until the skies ceased to bleed the colors of the twilight, but Faylla would not stop until wrong doers would be put in their places. The sovereign's rule was law, and the twili woman would follow vigilantly the laws abide by her ruler. If approached, she made it no mystery as to showing how ardent her passion was to serving her country, and doing the best that she could. Thinking about anything else that served no purpose was pointless to the wallflower.
... except for music. Although twili culture existed, it was small in numbers, and it was rare to find professional entertainment on the streets of Dusk Town. Most of the time you'd see a lot of business, and trades go about on some of the weirdest things. One time, Faylla could have sworn she saw an auction take place over some fuzzy handcuffs. She had no idea what they were for, and refused to know what kind of things people do on their free time.
Fay knew that she wasn't going to be left alone for long. Her sixth sense picked up on another presence nearby who drew close. Who it was, and if it was friendly or hostile, eluded the twili. With a placid demeanor, she felt the weight on her shift, due to someone grabbing a handful of her hair. Her carmine eyes flickered over to the hand that reached out and touched her hair. Her eyes glittered with sure surprise to meet a fellow messenger like herself.
"You're most kind, senior," she replied politely, "My duty here is nearly completed, making the daily round about. I would be most oblige to accompanying you back to the castle if that is your wish." Faylla's eloquent speech patterns, and serene demeanor were also apart of he package of her dutiful obsession. She felt it was necessary to set an example of sorts that there was a way, and manner to uphold oneself, but not many people saw eye to eye with Fay's perspectives.

Terezi nearly spun around on the spot with glee when the other messenger agreed to help her find her way back to the castle, but she didn't on account of the clump of hair that she was still holding. The best that she could manage was an awkward sort of skip in place. Terezi had never really interacted with the other female, what was her name again? Whatever it was, she liked her. She liked how this messenger acted and she liked how she reminded her of the sun, without being burning. It took all of her willpower not to shove a clump of her hair into her mouth to taste it better. Terezi knew that she was seen as creepy by most others, and Faylla was probably no exception. FAYLLA, that's what her name was! Terezi had heard it a few times in passing.
Distractions aside, Terezi had to think about what the consequences of her getting lost would be. There would be no hiding it when she got back, and of course she would be entirely truthful about her misadventure. She would take whatever punishment she had coming to her, although she hoped it wouldn't be too bad. She felt like a shame to those of her rank, she was a MESSENGER GUARD after all. Her happy and smily expression was slowly fading. They wouldn't strip her of her rank for something like this, would they? She had behaved in the past. Would that be enough?
Terezi dropped the chunk of Faylla's hair that she had been holding. "Yes, that is my wish, but not until your duties are finished." Even in her worried state she wasn't about to pull someone else into her problems that didn't deserve it.

Anything Faylla could do to please her fellow messengers was the best acknowledgement of doing a good job. Her eyes lit up with amusement as the eccentric woman sort of skipped in place realizing that she still had a handful of Fay's hair in her hands. She knew without a doubt that most messengers were rather... odd. The twili musician didn't have to hide it herself that she may have some loose screws here and there as well, but you didn't see anybody complaining, right? Right. Faylla just came to terms with accepting the entire package when it came to people.
So long as she can properly function while on the job, did it really matter if you were sane? When you were apart of the group that had to uphold the rule of the sovereign, it came as common knowledge, to know those who rank higher than you. It would be the first time Fay has ever interacted before with one of the guards, but nonetheless, she seemed more than enjoyable company. When Fay noticed Terezi's smile fading, she couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind at the moment? The musician pondered if there was any extra responsibilities the Guards had to do. Obviously, they had to follow under the Twilight Assassin, but every one in the messengers had to obey his/her word.
Turning her eyes back to her post, she noticed the weight returned back against her frame as Terezi released her hair. A small smile graced her lips concluding that this street was calm, and peaceful. Nothing strange happening as far as she could see. "Consider my duties here complete then, senior Terezi," she replied, "You caught me just in time. Please, allow me the honors in accompanying you back to the palace."
Faylla wasn't quite sure if it was really out of obligation she felt to help Terezi back to the palace or not. Either way, the twili woman felt as if it was the right thing to do at the time to do so.
(OOC: My deepest apologies for extremely late reply. T_T)
