PERSONALITY,
Due to severe trauma, Virgil suffers tremendously from a psychological disorder that gives him split personalities, or otherwise known as dissociative identity disorder. He developed two personalities over the years to help cope with the mental instability. Many who observe these two personalities describe that they're like minerals in its rawest form, pure, untouched by sullied hands. Both a light and dark side that make up of who Virgil is. Humoring himself with how they described him, he gave his personalities nicknames in order to differentiate one from the other. Since he was described as pure as minerals, he gave them the nicknames of the best minerals to have. He named one side Gold, and the other Silver.
- Silver: This side of his personality is quite the charmer. Some find him to be aggravating; then again they can also say he can be entrancing. Some want to punch his lights out, others want to be with him or be him. Being kind, sincere, and quite the gentleman, nobody would suspect him to be nothing more than an upright citizen, who was blessed to be fortunate. He is especially sweet to women, and tends to be a bit of a flirt. He laughs, smiles, and is overall a pleasure to be around with in order to make people feel comfortable and at ease, and to hide his thoughts - not to mention hidden intentions. Professional mannerism is what Virgil treats everyone with at first until you prove otherwise. He must make himself dignified and pleasant to look at in front of businessmen after all. He looks down upon low-lives, and commoners. This side of his personality is very charismatic, he does not hesitate to show power in whatever it is he does, to the point where he can pretty much talk or bluff his way out of nearly any situation. Almost. He cannot get himself out of ignorant fool's grasp if they have mental blocks keeping him from trying to get his point across. In such cases he does not fail to approach it in a mild mannered form, and show them where they truly belong. He's quite the egoist with a jealous/possessive streak - believing that he deserves nothing but the best.
- Gold: The darker side of his personality. If one could describe Gold in a single word, it would be wicked. Purely wicked. Virgil describes Gold as an aggressive, sadistic, and cunning killer who finds pleasure in having those under him writhing in pain. His adrenaline starts rushing the minute he hears his victim's bloodcurdling screams for mercy, which beckons him to shed more harm upon them. He gets a sadist s euphoria from inflicting pain on others. A cruel cold-hearted youth with insatiable lust for power, and glory. He is extremely arrogant - going as far as thinking that he is the best damn thing that has ever happened to the world. He enjoys getting a rise out of people, be it with words or actions. He loves pushing people's buttons. Sociopath? Very much so. Not only is he insane, but he's quite intelligent. His mind is on a much higher level than your average Joe, and tends to be on top of his game. He is far bossier in this alter ego, and will not hesitate to punish those who don't follow his orders right on the spot.
APPEARANCE,
BEHOLD! Virgil is the epitome of an aristocrat as far as appearance goes. Perhaps it would be a little cliche to say that he fits the three words any lady would kill for: tall, dark, and handsome. Unfortunately, he fits the bill to perfection. A jet black mop of hair can be found on the top of Virgil's head. Pair of turquoise eyes hover over a crooked nose, and a pair of full lips. His turquoise eyes are always distant, and cold - even when he appears kind and sincere, Virgil's eyes hold no life whatsoever to be found. Ambition and lust are the color found if one looks hard enough within his being. His clean face and flawless skin obviously screams of a high class upbringing. He is a rather tall man standing at a good five foot, ten inches. A little taller than average, which adds to his feeling of superiority and indifference over people. He is rather muscular with a skin complexion as fair as daylight. Though he tries to keep his appearance as mild as possible. These are usually covered up by his hair, and the way he dresses. He dresses to impress, and does he love to impress. He often dresses in fancy cloths, tending to matters in a dress shirt, layered over a white tuxedo coat with tails in the back, black slacks, and dress shoes. Sitting on top of his head is a top hat decorated with roses, and black feathers, with two cards added there for a bit of flair. He will not go further into casualties finding them trivial, and only suited for commoners, and low-lives who can't afford such luxuries.
WEAPONS,
Shikomizue: A cane incorporating a concealed blade (see appearance image to get the idea). The blade itself when drawn out of the cane is three foot long in length.
Cards: It s just as the name implies. Virgil carries with him a pack of playing cards, fifty-two to be exact, which he uses as projectiles. These nasty little things have razor sharp edges, and in the hands of a skilled assassin, they're the same as throwing knives.
ITEMS,
Dice: He's got a pair on him. Not really sure why, but perhaps they're good luck charms or something.
ABILITIES,
Ace of Spades: By pulling out the Spades card, Virgil changes the card’s form into a lance made out of pure energy, the point of the weapon in the shape of the symbol it represents. The weapon itself is designed to provide distance between Virgil’s enemy, and himself. Basically, he can swing, impale, strike, etc with it. Should it impale it's target, it does heavy damage (and let's not forget that shit will hurt). Cooldown: 3 posts
Ace of Clovers: By taking out the Clovers card, Virgil casts the black mage spell Drain. While casting this spell, his aura glows green as he saps his opponent’s health away and transfers it into his own body. He can only obtain the energy if he’s been hurt in order to replenish his health. The form the spell takes is a magic missile targeted at the opponent and a successful strike meant that the drain effect then occurs. In LS terms, he can only drain one level of health in order to transfer it to his own strength. Cooldown: 4 posts
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Flawless Insanity: As far as aesthetics go, his attire changes colors, thus revealing the true face behind the Mad Hatter. His white tuxedo coat, gloves, and trimmings on his clothes changes to black, along with obtaining an eerie blood red aura emanating from his body. When Virgil is placed under life-threatening danger/or pushed into a corner, this ability is practically a last resort. He recieves two bonuses while in this form (the weak ability slots):
- His strength is passively doubled. Increases physical attacks from Low damage to Moderate damage.
- His reflexes are doubled. His judgement throughout battle and reacting accordingly is on the edge. He can get a better guess on what his enemy is planning to do, not always accurate, because he does make mistakes.
HISTORY,
The Mad Hatter was not always known by that title. In fact, Virgil Montage wasn’t even his real name. It was quite a mystery on how this child came into existence. As a child, the toddler was left orphaned after loosing his parents in a bloodbath of a homicide. Or at least, that was reported at the scene of the crime. As far as they were concerned, he was just an innocent human child, who came across a series of unfortunate events. Nobody knew he was the child of humanoid monsters with extra special powers. With no criminal tracks to solve the crime, no family extensions or relatives to turn to, he was to be put up for adoption, but the young lad ran away before they could take him to the appropriate facility for orphaned children. Loosing his parents at such a young age was the beginning phase of his teetering insanity. With his parents dead, he felt he had nothing left to live for in this world, and wanted to take his life away as well. As far as he was concerned, he was already dead.
That is until on a whim, something changed his life, and suddenly his path began anew the moment he received his name. It was a name given to him when he was discovered out on the streets by a small gang who picked him up. They welcomed the runaway as if he was already apart of their family. Though behind the warm greetings, and hospital pleasantries, by taking him under their wing, they slowly transformed him from a pathetic little child with nothing to a member of a Mafia family. Despite its name implying it of being a family reigning group, the mafia was actually an enigmatic organization who took in those who lost their way.
The small gang that picked him off of the streets fed off of his misery, and loss – educating him in etiquette – which brought out an insatiable love for black tea, philosophy, and the inevitable truths behind life. It was a slow but progressive path towards shredding every bit of sanity he had left within him. Virgil found comfort in this family, who quickly warped his mind around. In his mind, he followed diligently the ways of the mafia: know your place; your blood is our blood, etc.
When he reached the age of thirteen, in becoming a full fledged, privileged member of the house, the comfortable life he was provided was stripped from him. He was placed under what could have been considered boot camp training from hell. Amongst many other children taken off of the streets, Virgil was pitted against them all, in an all out battle royale preliminary to test their ability to kill. Paralyzed with fear, he watched as one adolescent after another fall down dead, in a free for all onslaughts. When there were only a handful of children left in the brawl, Virgil snapped. He began to chortle. Laughing hysterically as his mind went into a state of frenzy as his powers awakened then. In a flash, the rest of the children laid dead on the ground taken out by Virgil’s uncontrollable state, unleashing his powers.
As the sole survivor of the battle royale, the Boss took a liking to the mad child. In the head of the house’s eyes, he saw potential, and wanted to personally give him the honor of becoming a member of the household. The mafia’s Boss thereafter dubbed Virgil Montage the ‘Mad Hatter’ from his astonishing displays of power through his insanity. On the outside, but the news caused something in Virgil's mind, pushing him further into the man now known to mafia as the Mad Hatter. He had a desire to kill, and so he became the one the mafia turned to prove a point to those out there that sought to undermine the house. It wasn't easy for him to become like he is, and he had to prove himself time after time to the higher-ups that he was perfect for their group of interrogator/hit man.
It took many years for them to discover the whereabouts on the killer, but reported back to the house that the suspect they found to be the man was already dead. When they came back, and told him what had happened to his parents' killer, he didn't care too much anymore. The Mad Hatter was moving on to bigger and better things. To help ease the pain of the trauma dealt on his unstable mind, he developed split personalities. Silver, the sophisticated aristocrat who charms the hearts of others, and Gold, the heartless killer of the mafia.
As his mind began to deteriorate, he acquired a taste of sadism, finding pleasure in torturing his victims to death. The Boss found his behavior out of hand, and assigned the Mad Hatter a partner. That said partner was none other than the Cheshire Cat, Julian Saych. Right off the bat, the two were like water and vinegar – a mutual dislike for one another was formed due to their clashing personalities. What was funny though was the missions given to them went about far more efficiently – save for the obnoxious bickering here and there. Julian held no interest in working for the mafia and it annoyed the Hatter to no end due to his sadistic behavior.
Their partnership didn’t last long, much to Virgil’s delight, as he moved up from one rank to up the ladder. He cared little of what had happened to the Cheshire Cat by then. His boss confided in Virgil’s work, and strong loyalty towards the mafia. He revealed to Virgil the dark secret behind the success of the mafia. They specialized in all sorts of illegal trades, strong ties with the black market, and racial trafficking. After sharing the ‘family’ secret, he was decreed the new boss of the mafia. The previous boss knew his time was coming, and left his establishment in the Mad Hatter’s hands.

Ace of Clovers The staff have agreed that this ability would only be fair providing that the target has a chance to evade, otherwise it's an unblockable ability. Perhaps if the spell was effectively a magic missile that was targeted at the opponent and a successful strike meant that the drain effect then occurred.
Flawless Insanity Because you intend to use LS, you'll need to specify the LS terms by which these bonuses affect your strength. You could suggest that it increases your physical attacks from Low damage to Moderate damage.

*Raises hand* What kind of Monster is he?
He doesn't have to be a Zelda monster, but we do need to know what kind of Monster he is.

'Scuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me.
Should it impale it's target, it goes moderate damage (and let's not forget that shit will hurt). Cooldown: 3 posts
You can increase that to Heavy damage, if you like. Moderate's only a single-level in LS, and three posts for a cooldown merits more than moderate.
