Seayn grimaced at the heat that permeated his heavy armor. It wasn't an overwhelmingly hot day but it made it feel as if he was baking in an oven when he wore this armor in any kind of heat. He grunted, looking up at the sun in the sky. It had traveled about halfway across the sky, meaning that there would still be quite a while until it set. He grunted as he moved through the crowd, occasionally glancing back as he walked away from his home. It wasn't often that he left Castle Town but he didn't plan on returning any time soon. Seayn could feel sweat beginning to trickle down his back, yet he kept his face rather blank. He nervously clasped the hilt at his hip, wondering if this ornate weapon would be able to protect him out in the real world.
The young man's hair gently moved in the breeze that he couldn't feel. He could see the gates, stopping in a moment of hesitation. Seayn hadn't been expecting the anxiousness of leaving this place. He stood in the middle of the crowd for a moment until people began to bump into him. "Sorry." He mumbled as he stumbled off to the side, feeling his stomach begin to twist in knots as he watched the gate. He was going to do this. Seayn wondered how his family would do without him, he wasn't exactly the key member yet he always helped out. "I'm ready. I can do this." He said to himself, trying to strengthen his resolve to go do important things.

Why did Day always revert back to this position?
Her left hand was curled around the hilt of Excalibur, her right hand resting on its gilded pommel. The cloth of her plated skirt and the loose strands of her hair stirred in the slight breeze, but she hardly noticed; the Gentry was too focused on the man sweating in his heavy armor.
Why would anyone wear armor that heavy in this kind of heat? It seemed suspicious to Daystallion, and because of the duties that went with being a self-appointed guard, she felt the need to carefully watch this strange man.
Even her battle armor wasn't as heavy as this man's. Granted, she was a woman and her armor was layered over a dress, and she was definitely shorter and mostly likely weaker than this man was well, but that was besides the point. There was no reason to be parading around in such heavy armor.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she noted the sword the man was holding. It looked familiar, hauntingly so... and once Day got that thought into her head, it kept nagging her, pushi gher to go up to the man and simply ask him where he obtained the blade. However, doing so would be impolite... Daystallion Lightdark would not sully the Pendragon name by being so rude. No, she would wait to see what the strange man would do, and act accordingly.

Seayn gulped heavily, reaching up to attempt to wipe sweat from his face. It was rather difficult with the large gauntlet in the way, as well as how hot it was. He grunted, jerking it away after a moment. He shook his head, catching a glimpse of a figure also in armor. A pretty, small, young woman seemed to be staring at him in a rather disconcerting manner. He fidgeted where he stood, unsure of how to react to the young woman's presence. The young man began to slowly take steps, urged on by the female in armor. Seayn grunted as he headed towards the gate, trying to appear casual yet unsure of whether or not he was succeeding. He failed, hard. He was more tense than before, his motions were jerky and it was obvious that he had noticed the other's presence, although he hadn't noticed much beyond her physical features and the fact that her eyes were upon him.
Seayn's hand tightened awkwardly on the hilt, nearly tripping himself on the scabbard before jerking it the other way. He mumbled incoherent words to himself as he stumbled for a moment, his attention drawn away from the woman for a moment. He stopped, glanced back in her direction before, once again, nonchalantly walking towards the gate. Seayn wasn't exactly sure of how to deal with girls, knowing only what his more... social brother had told him. The young man didn't believe much of what he had heard from friends and family but who was he to discount the only information he had. Seayn's eyes widened more confused by the thoughts that continuously assaulted him as he tried to assign meaning to random, momentary eye contact. He continued walking, almost to the gate.

Her eyes narrowed as the man began to take a few slow, halting steps, her suspicion rising as she realized that he had noticed her watching him and was attempting to act casual. And failing at it, she added mentally, internally marveling at how blatantly obvious his failure of a 'casual stride' was.
Now he was mumbling something under his breath. Perhaps... perhaps the man was drunk? That would explain the odd clothing, to an extent, but in Day's experience (which, admittedly, wasn't much), alcohol caused one to relax, not to tense up and move around like a puppet on strings. And anyway, it seemed that the man was not going to approach her; he was headed for the gate. She would have to just go up and talk to him.
Of course, she wouldn't forget her manners, even when dealing with a potential criminal. She simply wasn't raised that way. So when she lifted her longsword with her left hand, strode over to the armored man, and tapped him on the shoulder with her right, she would then proceed to dip into an elegant curtsy and introduce herself in the most polite tone she could muster.
"Excuse me, sir. I am Daystallion Lightdark. Forgive me for the interruption, but... may I ask what you are doing here today?"

Seayn heard a slight clanking behind him, obviously metallic in origin. He rubbed the back of his head, letting out another heavy breath. He could only think of one plausible explanation of what it could be. A young woman wearing much lighter armor than what he was wearing. He didn't know how to react, never having dealt with a situation like this. He heard more than he felt the small tap on his shoulder. He paused, hesitating for a moment before he turned slowly to see what had done so. It was of course, the girl in armor. She dipped a curtsy, something that he had never personally had directed at him. He began to think, his face becoming quite serious. "My name is Seayn. I was planning on leaving Castle Town today." He could now tell that she was about a foot shorter than him and definitely quite a bit lighter. She looked to fragile to be wearing any kind of armor.
The young man awkwardly dipped a bow to Daystallion, never having practiced the movement and it didn't come very fluidly. "Errr, how are you... milady?" Seayn could only assume from the rather rich quality of her armor and sword, yet it seemed like a proper assumption, especially considering the way she held herself. The sword drew his attention as well, seeming curiously familiar. Perhaps he had seen it before but it wasn't tugging at his mind. His grip tightened on his sword, obviously nervous. His palms had become sweaty, not from the heat in his heavy armor, but rather from nervousness. He stopped his fidgeting, keeping as still as he could. He felt like he had to act correctly in front of her, since she seemed so authoritative.

"Simply Daystallion would be quite alright, Mister Seayn," she said, her deadpan voice never changing in tone. "I am quite well, thank you. And yourself?" Social niceties were effortless for the woman, as she was raised to be polite and unassuming. But her bright green eyes never left the man's sword, turning the puzzle of where she had seen it before over and over in her mind. It was rather frustrating, to be perfectly honest. She greatly disliked being frustrated.
As Day stared at the blade, something clicked in her mind, and her gaze shifted from the man's sword to her own and back again. Her own Excalibur was brighter and clearly of a higher quality than Mister Seayn's blade, but upon first glance, the two swords looked night identical. How... annoying. Someone had thought to make a copy of her family's heirloom? She could only assume that it didn't have the same holy might as Excalibur, but she might as well ask to be sure. She only hoped that she wouldn't seem too rude.
"Pardon me if I offend you in any way, but where did you obtain that sword, Mister Seayn?"

"Oh, ok... Well Daystallion I am also quite well, although this heavy armor is rather impractical on such a day. Seayn said, sweating quite profusely. His eyes searched her, she seemed emotionless, blank, a perfect poker face. If he had been playing a game of skill with him, he might have understood such an expression yet he couldn't understand why she would use it at the moment. The young man ran a gauntleted hand through his sweaty hair as he ran through the reasons of why she might be following him. Seayn glanced around, seeing nothing out of place besides the fact that he had been stopped by her. He fidgeted nervously, moderately unsure of how to react.
The young armored man glanced down at his sword, Excalipur reminding him of the fact that he had been fooled into buying, not only a replica of an ancient artifact but, a useless weapon as well. "This sword? I bought it from some merchant wagon that was travelling through the town. He told me it was an ancient weapon of great power. He called it Excalipur. I bought it and it has been my faithful companion since then... and by faithful I mean it's more dull than a spoon." He said, patting the hilt of his sword before curiously gazing at her sword. They seemed to be of the same design, so he simply assumed that the woman was searching for a merchant that sold her a weak weapon. Not wanting to offend, he decided not to breach the subject.

"I would suggest investing in a lighter suit of armor, Mister Seayn. Heavier armor, while useful against sword swipes, slows your movement and even traps the wearer if your opponent is using a weapon that crushes rather than cuts. I myself have always preferred speed over heightened defenses, but this is merely a suggestion. It all depends on your style of fighting, I suppose." Daystallion had never worn heavy armor in her life. She relied on speed and reflexes to get her through battles. Technique and placement were higher on her list of priorities than power. A weak blow to the jugular would kill her foe just as well as a strong blow to the heart, and the weaker blow expended less energy. It was just logic, really.
Day examined the man's 'Excalipur' as he spoke, nodding slightly as he explained its origins. So a conman had hoped to make some money by replicating her family's sword and passing it off as the original. What fools, both the seller and the buyer. But she could hardly tell Mister Seayn that to his face... so she supposed she could enlighten him with the truth. Lifting up Excalibur so that the sunlight bounced off its gleaming blade, she displayed it to Seayn, showing him the faint golden glow it emanated as the holy power within it blossomed up.
"I am afraid that you have been cheated, Mister Seayn. My blade is the original, Excalibur. It has been passed down within my family for generations."

"I'm not quite as agile as most, so to help me counteract this, my armor is heavier. While it costs me even more movement, it helps me take quite a bit less damage. It was also made by my father and is quite exceptional. Despite its average appearance, it's incredibly durable. I don't think there are many people that could manage to make it through my armor" Seayn assumed, because of her serious manner and athletic body, that Daystallion had quite a bit more experience in battle than he had. He hadn't ever really been in a battle before, so he wasn't quite sure of his capabilities yet he was optimistic that he would be adequate against any opponent that he came up against.
"I had figured out that this weapon was indeed a sham. Yet it suits me well. I would rather not harm others. This sword will help me defend myself while also intimidating others. Swords that look expensive seem to make people unsure of their own weapons." Seayn examined Excalibur, wondering how powerful this magical weapon was. The young man could only hope that Excalibur was used for good. He rubbed the back of his neck, grimacing as the hot metal touched his skin. He shook his head, looking up at the sun that was beating down upon him. "I'll just have to make due with what I have. I'm sure that you can put that to better use than I would be able to. I have a distaste for hurting others though."
