Nothing irritated Day more than having nothing to do.
She wasn't asking for trouble, mind you. Peace was better than trouble every day of the week. But simply standing around and watching for any troublemakers wasn't exactly exciting, either.
As soon as that thought passed through her mind, she mentally scolded herself for being so material and strengthened her resolve to continue standing guard. Perhaps her help wasn't necessary, as there were guards everywhere in Castle Town, but she certainly felt that she could be of some assistance. She hadn't gotten the title of Gentry for nothing, after all.
She adjusted her grip on Excalibur so that one mailed hand was wrapped around the hilt, the other gripping the pommel. Unfortunately for Day, the sword was almost as tall as she was; the human woman was admittedly short, but she comforted herself with the thought that she could see into the crowd from this level rather than looking over it. Besides, she wielded Excalibur well, so its length was of no importance. It was as a sword should be; a sharp, deadly extension of her arm, as one with her body as her fingers and toes.
A slight breeze stirred her blond bangs, but she made no move to brush the hair back; it would fall back in place eventually, she reasoned, and there was no need for her to distract herself with such trivial matters. Guarding required patience and perseverance, both of which were essential in her quest.
Nightmare Darklight hadn't seemed to be the most patient of men, after all.

Kulau never liked coming to Hyrule Castle Town. He got plenty of unhealthy stares from the people of the town for being a Zora. A heckler every so often, but he did not pay much attention unless they got in his way. However, he came at a good time, many seemed to be away at the time, and only a sparse few were on the streets. He was on assignment to the Hospital to escort a wounded warrior back home. He was being treated at Borville's for battle wounds. However, it became abundantly clear after a few circles that he had no idea where he was going.
Eventually he caved in and walked up to a guard to ask for directions. The one he found was a fairly short blonde with a big sword. He politely bowed slightly before speaking.
"Excuse me, madam, but I appear to be lost. I am searching for the clinic of Doctor Borville to escort a comrade of mine back to Zora's Domain, and was wondering if you could help me."

She was scrutinizing the crowd for any suspicious moves, but there was nothing; there was hardly even a crowd to scrutinize. But still, Day had promised herself to do this job, and do this job she would. Her gaze was so intently fixed on the people milling around that she hardly noticed the lost-looking zora that had passed through quite a few times. She had seen him, sure, but she hardly considered him to be of any consequence; that is, until he walked up to her and asked for directions.
Her hands still gripping her longsword, Daystallion dipped into a low, polite curtsy and proceeded to consider the zora's request.
"Of course, sir. If I may have just a moment..." Day paused and turned slightly, her eyes narrowing as she evaluated the direction she was facing. She knew that the clinic was in the east, so if she could just figure out where north was...
After a few moments, Day nodded to herself and turned back to the zora, curtsying once more. "My apologies for the delay, sir. The clinic is to the east, which is straight and to the right of here. If you so wish, I shall escort you and your comrade there and to the exit closest to the Zora's Domain."

"Please, take your time." Kulau bowed his head in respect to the guard. Having brothers who were warriors gave him a deep sense of respect for the hylian guards, and they were mostly very courteous back, this one here no exception. With his nobles garb on, and no weapons visible, having a disrespectful guard may have had undue consequences.
"Thank you very much. I would appreciate the guide." He did feel a bit bad asking her to guide them. After all, she was on watch for suspicious behavior, and this would impede on that. But with a smaller crowd, perhaps a guard walking the streets would deter any would-be criminals.
