Merik brought the group to a halt and dismounted when they were within a few hundred yards from the stone buildings. Though the sun had yet to set it was past the mountains and so the entire compound was covered in rapidly growing shadow.
"During the war this fortress represented a very valuable resource for both sides: for the Hylians and their allies it was a foothold into the desert to begin their push inwards; for us it was more than a defensive position, it also held hidden paths out of the desert to allow us to bring in more supplies. Needless to say it changed hands multiple times during the years of conflict and many thousands from most the races fell to either take it or to defend it." the King said quietly as he led Desertfury forward on foot. "We will need to be cautious tonight and hopefully our presence will pass unnoticed..."

Jin walked alongside the Gerudo King, leading the nervous horse by its reins as it stomped close to Deseryfury. He was in awe of everything around them, and as Merik spoke, Jin listened around them. While he thought it would be fun to try to interact with the spirits, if Merik himself was trying to prevent interaction, it meant he was worried, so Jin kept quiet.
"I suggest talking through the pirate stone then... if we don't talk, our chances to go unnoticed go up, right? And if things do happen to turn for the worst... aren't there Gerudo spirits here willing to defend you just in case, being their current king in all?" Jin asked, the stone around his neck glowing slightly as he communicated through it.
