Kulau was alone in his home in the domain. His eyes were drawn to the box given to him, containing Aarondite. He wondered how he would handle Valen. It would be quite the experience, talking to a poe's essence within a sword.
He had to do it. He needed to know what happened. There was no turning back. He opened the box, revealing the sword, intact and clean. He slowly reached a hand toward the sword, pulling it back a couple of times before finally grabbing onto the hilt of the sword.
He shut his eyes tight. "Hello?"

The sword gave off a slight glowing light. As Kulau spoke, Valen extended his thoughts into the Zora's, so that they could speak. He had been waiting this whole time, and yet the Zora simply danced around the box with hesitation. Better late than never though.
Boo.
Valen laughed, unable to help himself. Fane would kill him if he had seen that. Its been awhile, Kulau. What can I help you with?

Kulau recoiled off the blade as the sudden appearance of a voice caught him off guard. However he put his hand back on. He needed to keep composed so he could speak with Valen.
"Good evening, I guess. I must say you've got me at a disadvantage. I've never really spoken to a sword before. Certainly not one that spoke back." It figures that Valen knew of him. He probably saw parts of what Fane saw.
"You probably know why I'm talking to you. Fane is dead, fallen by the hands of the Raven Shade. Needless to say, I'm less than pleased about it." His grip on the sword tightened slightly. The thought of Fane dying by the Raven Shade had gone from sadness to rage, though he could control it.

It would not be long until Fane returned and merged with Valen, but why tell Kulau this? Fane is dead huh? Give it some time, don't think irrationally. That was the most Valen could really say about the subject, considering the two would be merging and making their own in this world as a single entity within the week. Valen was using the extent of his energy to suppress his natural energy that desires to consume and take over Kulau. He was good at keeping it at bay, he did it often times when Fane was in a serious situation, such as the battle with the Raven Shade. Had Valen not of removed and focused on lessening his influence, the battle would of ended before it had even begun. Kulau, you want to know about the Raven Shade?

"I was at the burial. He is dead, unless you know something I do not." Kulau pondered on those words. It didn't seem to make much sense. Usually death was quite permanent.
"The Raven Shade and i have met once before, broke one of my ribs. But being around Fane you probably knew that probably. However, if you know anything new I would appreciate it if you tell me." Kulau wasn't about to go hunting, but information was important. He was also expecting some sort of compelling force to attack him, but nothing so far. He would remain cautious however.

I did know of all this. The Raven Shade, did he teleport when fighting you? Valen had to ask after all. There were some key features that prevented Fane from winning that battle, and they most certainly would not stop him next time. Next time was a little away though.
Or perhaps make his scythe float?

"No and yes. Neither would surprise me though, oocca are known to have minor teleportation powers as well as telekinesis. Things to be aware of when facing oocca." Kulau wasn't exactly sure what exactly Valen and Fane knew about the other races. Kulau studied them as part of his training.
"His needle shooter was what really screwed me up in the end. I have no ranged attacks, and as a result I was peppered with needles. I know Fane has his guns but they were buried with him."

Valen, had he of been there in physical form, would of nodded. He wasn't though, so he simply gave a sigh. Teleportation was common among the Oocca, yes, but Valen was not well acquainted with them. He also used the needles to injure Fane.
The way he killed him was... Valen paused. He teleported behind Fane, left the scythe and used some magic to spin it in place, then pushed Fane into it. His anger was apparent.

Kulau twitched in anger. What a painful way to go. Explained the closed casket well.
"Ooccan telekinesis, used in a way that can only be described as abhorrent." It made sense. The Shade hadn't done anything like that to him but if he had...Kulau didn't want to think about it. "He swooped a lot against me. I managed to escape because I have abilities I can use in case of emergency." Creating the fog was a big help. His big mistake was not using the bio-shield against his wings.

Yes..... The desire to overtake the physical body was becoming overwhelming, but he would not suffice to the desire. He need only wait and he would finally breathe again, along with Fane. Where was Fane now? Hopefully arranging the ceremony so he could return with Valen in Valens body. There were complications that he was worried about though, such as the fact that two merged souls in one body may not go well with the brain.
Do you plan on chasing him, or anything of the sort?
Valen needed to know.

Kulau shook his head no. "Not at the moment, and certainly not alone. I may still have some strength in my body, but at the end of the day, I'm still just a diplomat." He had the desire to tear off the shade's head and mount it as a trophy. But he knew what his job was, and what he was good at. Words, not swords.
"What do you want me to do with Aarondite?" She put the sword back in the box, not quite letting go, but ready for the conversation to reach its conclusion.

Valen was also ready for the conversation to end. We wasn't sure how much longer the energy could be withheld before it struck Kulau and Valen was overtaken by the desire for a body. As the sword was placed back in its box, he figured it was time to leave Kulau with a little wondering and confusion.
Keep it safe until we return to claim it. With that, he cut communications and awaited Kulau to release the blade so the power could be released.

Kulau released the blade as it appeared the conversation was over. He closed the box and put it on his shelf. In time in appeared that someone would claim it. An interesting prospect of course. He would wait for that time.
