He stood in the midst of what seemed like a mountain range of corpses. Of course, being monsters, they vanished into dark mist seconds later. His claw was stained with their blood, which had not evaporated. His entire body was stained with their blood, and some of their innards even stuck to his cloak as well. He struggled slightly, leaning on his giant, plated, marble-shaded hand for support as he tried to catch his breath. It didn't work.. he was slowly losing it. Wounds had battered his entire body during the fight. It all started when he was gently crossing the Sahara in search of a medical plant that was rumored to heal anything, but instead, was trapped by monsters. He wiped some blood off his face, only to reveal a good number of bruises. Ein plopped down and propped himself against an old piece of ruin, still panting. For some reason, it seemed like he couldn't get enough oxygen. The night air was cold as it was night, but Ein's body felt extremely hot. His left eye - the cursed, the scarred, was tingling uncomfortably. He wasn't supposed to die.. Big sis wanted me to find a cure and.. live.. survive.. for her.A moment later, he was out like a light. A steady rising and falling was faintly seen in his chest.

Voletta's feet dragged along the sand, her eyes gazing up at the night sky. The stars shone brightly in the darkness, illuminating the wasteland along with the moon. She wore a mask made of white bandages, as a safeguard so she wouldn't breathe in any sand when the wind blows. The cold air was almost unbearable, who could possibly survive this for so long? Before she could think of an answer to her own question, she felt her ankle hit a metal object, nearly causing her to trip. Once her balanced was regained, she looked down.
...An metal arm? Blood?...A person? This was not a good situation. Sure, she could leave the guy here, but the amount of guilt she would feel later on would be unbearable. There were many cuts, most of them weren't a big deal, with a few exceptions. The little girl set her book down next to her, before she lie her head to his chest, listening to a pulse. It was slow and hushed, close enough to stopping. Voletta took a long, deep breath, and exhaled as slow as possible, mentally preparing herself to mend this stranger's wounds - starting out with CPR. She couldn't sincerely tell if his pulse was due to loss of blood, fatigue, or...heat stroke? How could he raise his temperature so high in such a cold place? How long has he been here? She wouldn't waste more than a couple seconds wondering about it. Voletta placed the palm of her right fist and placed it against the man's heart, cupping the fist with her other. she pressed down as hard as she could, mimicking the rhythmic pattern of the heart. Pulling down her mask, she placed her lips on his, she opened his mouth, forcing air into his lungs. She repeated the process for 2, long minutes, before she felt a pulse. She sighed in relief. On to the next part. Voletta examined the external wounds. It didn't seem to be anything too serious. She lifted the shirt, exposing the man's chest to the sand. She'd have to be quick about this. Starting off with the bigger wounds, she placed her thumb on the edge up a cut, quickly, but carefully closing each wound with her magic, numbing the area until 3 layers of skin were completely healed. This was about all she could do at the present moment, not completely knowing his symptoms. Voletta put down her red hood, unwrapping the makeshift mask, and re-wrapped it around the area where most of his cuts were.
After securely wrapping the bandage around the injured area, she pulled his shirt back down, and began untying the ribbon that kept her cape together. It fell onto the sand, revealing a short, sleeveless, plain white dress. The lower edges of the dress were stained with blood from the recent game of playing doctor. In the chest and lower back area revealed large spills of blood, most likely her own. They were from a few weeks ago, however, and was not of too much concern if her dress was dirtied. She had saw it coming, after all. Voletta placed the cape over the stranger, putting sand on the edges to keep it from blowing away.
She lie down on her book, curling up into a ball, slowly drifting into sleep.

The sun was just making it's endeavor over the mountains in the distance as Einar's eyes half opened. His vision was blurred - sand had gotten in while he was out. He attempted to wipe it off sleazily using his hand - then he realized that it was still a claw. It was dirty and the green flames at the base of his shoulder was a dull, transparent torch. His energy was sapped from keeping it in form for so long.. with as much strain as he could, he forced the plated claw to minimize into a regular arm. Well, if that's what he could call it. He had mismatching arms in general - his right was human, his left a demons. It was a deep, blood red, and seemed to have some chalky quality about it, as if it was carved out of stone. Ein's fingernails on that hand were black and spiny, and on the back was an engraved scar - similar to the one on his left eye. Wiping his eyes, he was quickly brought back to the surface of consciousness. He stared at his hands to make sure his vision was alright. How had he survived? His wounds weren't completely healed, but they were in a recovering condition. Somebody.. took off his clothes while he was asleep? Well, Ein wasn't complaining. Thanks to somebody, he'd barely escaped death a second time.. but thanks to who? He looked to his left. What was that? It looked kind of like a.. red mound. If it was a pale brown, he would have mistaken it for sand. However, when he looked closer, he realized it was a.. person?! A little mess of dank hair covered whatever was under. A book lay to the side. Ein, unsteadily crawled over to the person, unable to fully gain control of his legs. Uncertainly, Ein wiped his hands and parted the sea of thin brown hair. It was a girl.. around his age. Well, not in looks of course. Because of his history, he had went through accelerated aging, and really was only 10 years old. She looked.. really pretty. Even though her face appeared to be smeared, and she looked like she hadn't smiled in ages, Ein couldn't help but feel a little rosy color come into his cheeks staring at the girl who appeared to have saved his life. Suddenly embarrassed by his own thoughts, Ein let go and sat back a little bit, examining this person. Even though he thought she was around his age, the girl seemed a bit older. 12 possibly. How on earth did she figure out how to administer first aid on him, a boy who took on a 17 year old's stature?

Voletta twitched from the slight brush of his hand. Her eyes fluttered open, gazing up at the man. Her stare appeared very confused, still adjusting to the sunrise. She blinked.
...Good......Morning.
She slowly sat up, stretching her arms into the air while releasing a long, sleepy yawn. Her gaze moved to the man's chest, which were still wrapped in bandages. She blinked once more, before she started to recall the small procedure she preformed on the man. This summed up to CPR, a bit of magic, and the wrapping of bandages. Wait. CPR? Wasn't that only if... How did this happen? Well, she'll figure out eventually. As long as he's still alive.
How are you feeling? Do the cuts still hurt?

Ein was startled as she stirred. Backing up a bit so as to not hint that he had any ulterior motives, he watched interested as the girl managed to get a hold of her bearings. At first, her eyes darted a bit to his chest, then to the side, as if she were embarrassed about something, which confused him. Then, she spoke. The girl had an uncanny ability to whisper loudly - or at least get her message across without mumbling. It was rather distant and vague-sounding, from what Ein presumed. This girl had a drowsy mood, and it was giving him funny vibes. It took him a moment to suddenly gather his words, Stuttering slightly, he replied, "Y-yes, I'm fine.." with an anxiousness he did not want to show. He cleared his through and assumed a more comfortable seating position, trying to look as modest as possible. "Um.. were you the person that treated me..?" he asked, not meaning to put emphasis in the middle of his words, but still slightly wincing from a wound he touched with his finger, catching him mid sentence.

Is it okay if I did?
Voletta asked, scratching the back of her neck, tilting her head at a downwards angle, but still looking up at the man. Whenever she had seen strangers in the forest, they either ran/walked away, or were seriously injured. Those who were injured were treated, but quite shocked about such a young child wrapping up their wounds. She had never killed anyone doing this, it actually gave her a bit of a lesson on what she needed to learn, sort of like a review. This, however, was something she was not too experienced in.
If you're uncomfortable with that, I assure you that I have not done anything in the procedure that would make your pain worse.

"Of course not, I just wanted to say.. thanks."Ein grinned kindly at the girl. Brushing some sand out of his hair, Ein looked out into the dessert. Nothing but giant hills and mounds of sand lay beyond, constantly moving and changing shape from the wind. His thin white hair trailed in turbulence. For a moment, he tried to stand, but only succeeding in an aching behind as he fell back down, his knees buckling under his own weight. ((Bleehhh))

Voletta smiled, picking up her hood and starting to tie the ribbon the kept the cape wrapped around her.
Thank you too.
She said in a lighthearted manner. She couldn't remember the last time she had said thank you to anyone, or the other way around. Her mother, maybe? She pulled the two loops of ribbon in opposite directions, forming a butterfly-like ribbon. The bow quickly drooped, flowing in the winds of the desert. Voletta switched to a more comfortable sitting position, watching the boy stumble and fall.
You owe me a piggy back ride after your legs heal.

Ein smiled. It was sometimes hard to tell wether this girl was joking or serious. "Sure."Ein tightened the bandages around his ankles and feet, peering at them curiously. They were really well done for someone her age - it made him feel pretty silly, barely surviving with a matured body and this girl more than capable of saving someone's life. He leaned forward earnestly. "I'm Ein. What's your name?"

Voletta. Voletta Tabias.
Voletta stood up, beginning to pat her cape of any sand. She picked up her book and slipped her arms through the straps, donning the book as a backpack. She looked around. The wind appeared light, the skies clear of clouds. Good thing she was wearing a cape, she'd get sun burnt if otherwise. Standing up, Voletta held her hand to Ein.
Lets go find a better place to sit.
