Calm.
The only feeling she wasn't getting at the moment. When all of the world was quiet, and still within the tranquil veils of the night's welcoming dream, Midna was wide awake. Restless. Anxious with rhyme and reason but without an incentive to let go of the stress built up in light of recent events. Her carmine eyes listlessly peered up to the starlit skies high above the great mountain, the rust colored earth darkened by the shade of the dying evening. The break of the drawing, beckoning bright morning light of dawn to come.
Don't ask how or why she chose this place in particular to find sanctuary, but it was the first place she decided to wander off to. Despite the fact that Eldin was probably the least of her most desired places to be at the moment she kept a low profile when making her appearance around these parts. The tips of her fingers traced across the rims of the windowsill as her slender form leaned up against the frame staring out into space. Almost as if posed in a painting, a silhouette glancing out listlessly into the distance as if she saw the crevice of hope shining from the sky, and onto the earth.
She didn't know for sure where she would find him at this hour. If Midna had the slightest chance of finding him at all, but tracing her steps back she recognized Kakariko Village as his home, and paid a visit. Sliding into his home like the ninja she was, she made herself at home in his room, just lounging as casually as she could. While the house appeared empty to her, she could only guess one point in time, it was filled with life way back when~ The Twilight Princess began to doze in and out of conscience, with the only thought in her mind that was still awake hoping that by some chance he stops by here.
Then again she'd be a liar to say she wasn't nervous to face him again.

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way Yes, he had told Aralyn that he was going to go get Midna. He had made it clear that he wasn't going to stop until he either had Midna as his own, or until he ended up back at the tavern, drunk this time. However, despite this valiant effort, there was simply one problem throughout this whole thing. He couldn't find her. No matter where he looked, he just couldn't find her. Nightmare could cover a lot of ground in his dragon form, even being able to fly across Hyrule itself in just a matter of hours. So throughout the night, he'd been looking for her all across the land, but with no results. At this point, he just needed to find some place to rest for the night, then immediately resume his searching. Finally, he came to his hometown of Kakariko. The truth is, he had already searched here, having skimmed over it. But really, he just figured that he might find her here, considering she was the kind to move around. He had considered going back to Barad-Dur, but really, if she was mad with him, there was no way she was going to be back there. Not to mention that this place just had a bit of emotional meaning to him. It was where he was born and where he was raised, so coming here to mull things over for a bit would undoubtedly be healthy for him. Not to mention it might be nice to see his family again, he hadn't seen them in such a long time that they were probably worried about him. So he came to his house, the one he had lived in for a good chunk of his childhood, and simply opened the door. They never bothered to lock it, did they? Then again, his parents were dragons, and his mother was a powerful sorceress in her own right, so they figured that any burglars would just get what they deserved. He smirked a bit as he silently walked through the house and up the stairs, trying not to make much sound. They were probably asleep, so he'd rather not wake them. Slowly, he made his way to his room, staring at the door. In a way, it was good to be home. He gripped the knob, and opened the door, for whatever waited on the other side.

No. She couldn't fall asleep now. What if someone woke up, and noticed her presence here? Biting down on her bottom lip, she shook her head softly a little, her cloak that draped her form carefully shifted as she did this. Her deep carmine eyes stared out the window watching as sun coming up from the eastern horizon color the skies the shades of Twilight. A wave of tranquility washed over her frame loving the sight of sunrise over the skies as if guiding her down the path she was looking for.
Her frame tensed up when she heard the soft click of the knob moving, and soon enough, the door swung open slowly. Her scarlet eyes jerked over to the opened door as a small gasp escaped her lips. In that very moment, the Twilight Princess felt as if her heart took a jump start a head of the race, and began releasing a nervous wave of tension. There he was. His frame appearing through the threshold of the opened door, but the words that wanted to come out were jumbled in her throat.
"Night," she murmured softly. Half-lidded eyes looked him in the eye, lost for any more words - what could she say at this point? What could she do to break the walls that suddenly encased between them? All she could hear within her head was the words of her adviser comforting her the best of his ability, and giving her back her confidence. Remembering Akira's words allowed a small smile to grace her lips. "You're late," she remarked.

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way Wow. That was all he could really think. He had not been expecting to find the Princess here, in his house, of all the places in Hyrule. Then again, he had to wonder how she even knew it was his house. He hadn't recalled telling her about it. But he figured that perhaps things had just been arranged so this meeting would happen here, between the two of them. He wanted to ask so many questions, namely, why in the world was she in his house? But he couldn't find the words, he couldn't bring himself to ask such simple questions. Immediately, despite his conviction to find her, he felt guilt flare in his heart again over his actions. The Emperor silently closed the door behind him. The last thing he needed were his parents walking on by to see their son suddenly home and alone with a beautiful blue woman. "I know, I know. I... haven't exactly been on top of everything, have I?" Nightmare took a few quiet steps towards his old bed, and sat down next to the Twilight Princess, scanning over her body. On her right thigh, he noticed the mark among her other markings, and gently ran a hand over the thing. Now he got a good look for himself. He knew he had marked her earlier, but this was the first time he actually saw the thing. In a way, it filled him with several emotions. He felt guilt over the fact that he had essentially taken her as his mate with that mark, and without even asking for her consent beforehand. He felt anger at himself for being unable to keep himself in check, and sadness that he realized that this could be the last time they really talked, depending on how this whole conversation went. "... Sorry. I really am." He apologetically murmured as he rubbed his fingers over her twilit skin, almost as if in a way he was trying to rub off the mark. But he knew he couldn't. It was just something that would end up staying there.

To be fair, it really was a stroke of luck that things worked out for them to meet up like this. Midna couldn’t imagine the transition going any other way unless the anger in her heart sparked up from prior frustration. It was just something that came natural, even for someone like her, to be afraid of what she didn’t know how to handle. To cover up that insecurity with anger, and turmoil, because it was so much easier to struggle it all off. What she failed to realize was how tight of a lock it had on her heart, and quick it could shatter the frail innards of such a precious thing, metaphorically speaking~
How he could when something like this came up unexpectedly? The air was thick, and it wasn’t just the morning air rising up the temperature. Still, things did happen regardless of their positions, and it couldn’t be taken away. Nothing could take back the slip up that occurred, but Midna didn’t regret her actions that night. She could only imagine how Nightmare must have felt as well, but now…
It wasn’t until now that she got an inkling of his feelings pouring out when he noticed the mark. While his expression was frozen in the moment, the emotions were nothing short of a dead giveaway. Did he truly mean those words uttered from his mouth? Carmine eyes flickered at his apology, but took a moment or two in silence. His hands were gentle, tenderly pressed against the surface of her cool, smooth skin. There were no words that needed to be spoken.
Her hand glided slowly, hovering over his, before laying it forth clasping onto it. Like waiting for the hint of a spark, the borderline that was there before, now fade away from existence. Her other hand, free of use, rose up and cupped the Emperor’s chin very gently turned his head over to meet her eyes. Her long lashes fluttered whilst her hand moved up to caress his cheek.
Midna leaned forward closing the wedge between their faces as her dark lips pressed his lovingly.

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way She wasn't saying anything, causing the Emperor's eyes to narrow somewhat. Yeah, he must've truly screwed up bigtime for her not to be saying anything to him. For a brief moment in time, he really didn't give a damn about their alliance. What he was really worried about was his personal relationship with her. He was worried that she wouldn't want to speak with him anymore or that even worse, she would end up fleeing back to the Twilight Realm. He was thrown for a loop however, when she cupped his cheek. This caused him to blink for a moment, just what in the world was she up to? He wasn't really sure what to expect. At least that was up until Midna kissed him with her dark lips. At first, he was a little surprised that she had actually done that, considering what had taken place just a little while before. Though maybe perhaps there was something else, and perhaps she wasn't truly angry with what had transpired between the two of them. At least, this was something Nightmare would like to think, as perhaps that would mean that there really was something more between the two of them. Such a thought turned out to be a real pleasant one. Perhaps he could see this little thing blossoming into something much deeper between the two of them. It didn't take long for him to recover from his surprise though and kiss back. His arms wrapped around the princess and pulled her close. Holding her this close to him was just plain intoxicating for the dragon. The sweet taste of her lips would make him regret letting her go at any point. Yeah, he could say that this was something he wanted. If it meant that this would be his life, then yeah, he could say that he was in love with her. Nightmare was happy with his life right now, that was it. He had his Twilight Princess. As far as he was concerned, there wasn't anything that could really ruin his night.

Acceptance was a difficult concept to grasp. While in theory, it seemed like the easiest thing to handle, plenty of aspects could be acceptable. The only drawback behind that is that one either had to have an open mind to accept such aspects or experience to put their beliefs into practice. Midna held no experience with love wholeheartedly. It wasn't that she neglected her personal life, but rather, putting the priority of other matters before them. While she enjoyed a good flirting around, and teasing, she's never gotten herself involved with someone as close as she's gotten to this man. This was foreign to her.
There was no doubt about it that at one point in time she was angry with Nightmare, but it was only out of frustration. That emotion simmered down after a long talk with her adviser. His mistake brought up so many emotions, but she didn't know how to expressive them effectively to get her point across. In the end, all of it would eventually tone down to the heart of the matters. There was no denying that she had feelings for him, and hopefully this would prove her point across thoroughly. The princess was tired of running around in circles; such a funny way to fall~
There was no place she'd rather be than to be embraced. The feeling of belonging that seemed so far, and distant now felt so close. Midna didn't struggle when he pulled her close when returning the kiss. If only for the moment, she entertained a thought of how it felt, rather than looking at the factual perspective of it all. It was as if all of the troubles of the past melted away in this blissful reprieve. She didn't want a miss a single second of this moment this closeness again.
Alas, what felt like an eternity ended, not a moment too soon either as her half opened lids stared up in a wispy manner. That same little devil smile of hers pursed her lips. Nightmare probably wasn't expecting that out of her. It was very cute~
"You looked lost," she teased, "Was that not a good enough I love you~?"

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way All he could do, all he wanted to do, was just keep his princess close to him. This was a night that he wanted to mean something. True, they had just had sex a few days ago, but while the attraction was there, there wasn't the actual passion that could only be shared between two lovers. This was something deeper. To Nightmare, it showed that yes, things were in fact going to progress beyond mere friendship. It was something that he wanted to hold dear, that he didn't even want to risk losing. It only made him worry when she pulled away, wondering what she was going to do. He didn't want the dawn to stop them, he didn't want her to leave him again. But her words would reach him like a bell ringing out in the silence. She loved him after all. Those words brought up emotions that he hadn't felt in such a long time. It was the feeling of love, of acceptance. It was... comforting to know that she did indeed return his affections, that she did indeed love him. It was with that that all his interactions with her, that his mistake, everything that had been building up between them had completely paid off. Well, it looked like that meant that Aralyn wouldn't be finding him wasted back at the tavern. That was a good thing. Rather, he felt that he would just spend the night with his new found love. That for just one night, he wouldn't even be the Emperor. Of course, he still had something to do for her. After all, he had agreed to a little something a while back, had he not? Nightmare leaned in slightly, staring into her crimson eyes, giving a soft smile. This was something that he wouldn't regret. This whole night was something that he wouldn't regret, and he'd make sure not to forget it. "Alexander Sorel." It was all he needed to say. He didn't need to outright say the word love. He knew full well that she would know what to take from those two words. Instead, he just pulled his princess into another kiss, shutting off the world outside.

Who would have thought loving someone could result in some interesting events? That there was more to this than what she originally intended it to be~ The way that it all built up since their fateful meeting at the lake, and leading up to this point. All of it was certainly a pleasant thought to contemplate over. The words to describe her feelings were all over the room, but primarily upon the surface of her heart which she had on her sleeves. Just knowing that there were arms to get lost in, another heart that beat in time with hers, and lips to keep hers pressed against - it was good to be in love.
His smile belong to her, and only her~ It wasn't a cocky grin he usually kept up when she saw him. In fact, he actually seemed like a regular guy~ Or in this case, a dragon who could be a regular mortal in the sweetest circumstance. Her eyes lit up when the only thing he uttered was a name. A name that made her remember the deal that they made the first day they met. Alexander Sorel, huh? She definitely didn't take him for an Alexander, given you know, he was a dragon and all but it meant more to Midna than just knowing who he really was.
It was his answer back. So now it has been established that there was so much more between the two of them. He was in love with her just as she was for him. Unfortunately, life wasn't as easy as happily ever after. Nonetheless, it didn't mean Midna wasn't going to enjoy herself, especially when he pulled her back into another kiss. Her slim arms slid wrapped around his neck, her hands entangled within his blonde locks, returning the second kiss lovingly once more.

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way To him, Nightmare had what he wanted. He wasn't even thinking about their deal anymore. He had held it up, told her his name, but it had never occurred to him that he had won, and he really didn't even bother to try and remember it. He was in paradise. Gripping his princess tightly, he pulled her into his lap, if just to close the space between them a bit more. He wanted this to be just between them, no interruptions nothing. Just some time between the two of them, completely casting off their positions as rulers, completely throwing away the barriers that divided their realms, and completely ignoring that they were of different races. Nightmare wondered just how his people would take to this. Then again, they probably wouldn't care, what with monsters regularly going out and taking Hylians or Fairies for themselves. Though he would make it clear that what was between him and Midna was love, not lust. He loved Midna, that was all there was to it. Though really, he figured he would have to worry about the Twili. They had been locked away for many long years, and the fact that now their sovereign, their beloved sovereign, was with a light realmer? A dragon no less? And as if to add onto that, the Emperor, the ones even Hyrule hated. Surely they wouldn't take well to such news. But really, he didn't care. In fact, he would make it a point that he seriously did not care what his, or her people thought about this. To him, he had the woman that he loved, and she wasn't someone to hide away, in fear of what others would think, and he wanted her to know that. For a brief moment, he pulled away, but he wouldn't release his grasp on her. She was his. "I want to be open about our relationship you know~" He wasn't going to be hush hush about this. If someone asked, he would be more than happy to let them know that he was with Midna, the Twilight Princess.

This was going to take quite a bit of explaining to do. There was no doubt in her mind that the spark of this budding relationship would cause a few arguments to ensue among not only her people, but also amidst the residents of the Light Realm as well~ Yes, she would admit this is certainly going to stir up some drama, but at the moment she really didn't care.
The only thing that mattered was living in the present, and quite honestly, she wasn't in a bad position, if she did say so herself. Her heartbeat ran away from her pulse, and leaped from her chest to the man who pulled her close. His kiss was gentle but it was the lock of his hold, protective, and loving that brought warmth over her lithe frame. What felt like an emptiness that was missing in her puzzle was finally complete~
When Nightmare broke apart the lovely kiss, her eyes opened up half-way, listening to his statement. Her freshly kissed lips smiled softly entertained by such words. Midna wasn't the type to go around telling the world of how she fell in love, but if someone were to ask, then she would answer. "Never said it had to be kept a secret," she cooed, "You do realize the effects of this cause would bring, right?" It wasn't that she was completely against his wish - she agreed with him wholeheartedly. However just because they agreed, and accepted one another didn't mean the rest of the world would, and will~
She could imagine it all getting quite hectic, and time ease this type of information to her people. However in the end, Midna wouldn't regret anything, not when she knew that this wasn't something she wanted to give up. Not when it's become something so cherished to have slip away from her grasp in the blink of an eye. "No regrets?" she curled up against him.

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way So she didn't want to keep it a secret~ How delightful. In a way, Nightmare might actually be looking forward to the trouble. Though then again, it could mean that something could happen to Midna. Though he probably shouldn't worry too much about her, she was a big girl, she could take care of herself. He certainly didn't have the power to fling trees willy nilly like she did. That had turned out to be invaluable during the Drossling. In a way, it was rather enjoyable. No, he didn't want her to get hurt, but it was nice to know that he was with someone that he could at least count on during a battle. But yes, there was going to be drama over all of this, Midna indeed had a point. In truth, he didn't care. "I'm aware of this. But if anyone has a problem with it well then they can just suck it up." Oh he was aware of the shitstorm this would cause. He could only imagine how her people would end up taking it. The Emperor had a feeling that assassination attempts would be on the rise in the future, and this time it wouldn't be from his own people. Oh well, if such was the case then he would be authorized to defend himself, and he was certain that it would die down eventually. He figured that things would probably end up going to hell for a bit, and that things really would get chaotic. But no, there was no regrets to be had. To him, he had made the right choice. Maybe he was just being a bit selfish and choosing his own personal life over his duties. Well, that would be fine. Considering that chances are he would probably die young, that just helped push him to pursue some personal interests a bit more. "No regrets. None." He spoke as he cuddled with his princess. "You're mine." He made sure to let her know. He wasn't going to let anyone else have her.

This could turn out for the better or for worse~ So long as the two of them acknowledge the storm that would brew from their choices then she supposed there was nothing left to do. It brought a little stress off of her mind to know that he was aware. It didn't get rid of the rest of it simply because of the fact that he didn't care what others might say about this relationship. True, she had some concern, she admired his desire to be with her, and it made her feel more than just an important person as a general figure.
This significance was nothing short of that you could only have when you share it between another person. The only person who could be so close, and hold your heart within the palm of your hands. What did one did when their heart was bare open to the one they loved? Listening to how fast her pulse raced within her cool skin, content with the warmth that kept her frame stable, and the hands that kept her steady within the thick air of the room. All was calm, and quiet but she couldn't imagine being at such ease within his presence. "You're pretty brave," she mused softly, "Let us hope that it prevails in the end~"
Her smile stayed upon her dark lips as he firmly stood with his statement. There was no going on, and no regrets would be paved within their intertwined paths. It all felt so surreal, she had a difficult time believing that it was real. "And you're mine," she returned the favor. Her hand untangled itself from his golden locks, tracing his jawline softly, giving him a teasing peck on his bottom lip. There was simply no mistake about it, she was in love.
She was in love with Alexander~

And for you, only you I would give anything Leaving a trace for love to find a way Nightmare just continued to hold the Twilight Princess close to him. It was funny that she was calling him brave, and yes, he considered himself brave, but he wasn't stupid. He knew for a fact that people would be sore about it. While he didn't care about people getting uppity over the fact that he was dating a girl from another world, he knew that there would be some who would take it so poorly that they would likely get violent about it. That was something that he could do without, but he would fight to the death if he had to. Though really, what he needed to do was come up with a plan concerning it. He figured that sitting at this point would probably just be way too much of a hassle for the both of them, especially considering just where they were sitting. He had something much better in mind for the both of them, something that could only be foreshadowed by a brief, yet playful grin. He let himself fall back onto his bed, dragging his princess down with him. This was simply far more comfortable for the both of them, after all, he figured that maybe he could at least spend the night in his room and leave in the morning. Spend a night in his old bed, yet spend it with the woman she was in love with. The Emperor ran a hand through her sunset locks as he kept her body close to his. Yeah, there would be problems, but he had a feeling it would mostly be with the Twili. The most powerful of the Monsters aside from him, the Vanguards, would likely be rather understanding of the whole thing. Hell, they were his friends, right? "I wouldn't worry too much about my Vanguards, thankfully." He continued to pet her in an almost methodical manner. "They're quite a bit more progressive than most of the Ainur." Yes, there would be obstacles, and he would face them with her, but he wanted her to feel safe around his subjects as well.
