Manly Conversation (Merik)

[Jin Reno]

"Ooooh. Well why didn't you just say that in the first place, it seems like you just danced around some of the important parts you know." Jin said, looking at Merik a bit disappointed for a moment. When that disappointment left though, Jin moved his arms in front of him once more and faced Merik head on. "Alright now, I think its time we try to finish this little spar, don't you?" Jin said with a smile, feeling a faint pain in his chest, though the reason was completely beyond him.

He rushed forward this time, and with little care for the consequences, moved closer and closer to Merik getting right up toward the Gerudo King before sending a punch upward. He had hoped to catch Merik in a powerful uppercut, wanting to end the sparring match with a good sense that he had actually caused the King to understand that Jin was a strong individual.

As Jin had rushed forward, Merik had reacted automatically without really waiting to see the attack. Craning his neck and headbutting the Human right in the face put the King right in line for the uppercut that would have previously only caught him on the jaw. He staggered back after both blows, blood flowing from his nose with his eye already swelling a bit.

"Not bad...I probably made that punch worse than it would have been but it still wasn't bad." he said as he forced himself steady once more.

It was never easy to get a blow on this guy without some sort of return.

Jin thought, stumbling backward, his world nothing but blurs and bits of black and white. He shook his head and fell back onto the sand, holding his forehead and looking at Merik, though he seemed to be more of a blur still. "You have a pretty hard head... I can't see straight at the moment..." Jin said to Merik, blood dripping from a freshly opened wound on his forehead.

He could feel it dripping down the sides of his nose and Jin let out a grown. "Damn... Ruma's not going to be happy with me... here I go getting all bloodied and battered after I told her I would take it easy." Jin said with a laugh. "You are a fun sparring partner... we'll have to do this again sometime." He added.

"So... Merik, King of the Gerudo... want to see something cool?" Jin asked, motioning toward Lisa, the foot long tortoise making its way to his side. "This is Lisa... she's my own Magic Turtle."

"She'll understand, you might have planned to take it easy but the Gerudo don't go easy. Wear those bruises as a badge of honor that you're still conscious after a round with the King, you're the only one I've fought who managed that after a headbutt." Merik said, his right eye already half swollen shut while his hand staunched the blood flow. Though with the appearance of the Magic Turtle his free hand clasped in the air at his side, prepared to summon Frostbite if the spar was about to take a new turn.

[Jin Reno]

"Badges of Honor eh? Will do then. And yeah... I've had to come out of some pretty bad fights for about two years... I am pretty sturdy most of the time." Jin said, his rib starting to ache, dulling the pain in his forehead a bit.

"Lisa here is a Tortoise that I saved while she was still an egg from some bulbins. I've learned that she had a cool little trick that makes me a better fighter. If we went with weapons, there is a good chance I would of had to use her skills." Jin said, stroking Lisa's head a bit.

"Lisa, Armor." Jin commanded softly, and the tortoise turned into an orb of light before hitting him in the chest. In a moment, he was covered head to toe in the thin and sectioned armor, giving Merik a sort of 'Ta-Da' kind of pose, though not rising from his spot on the ground. The tail he had suddenly acquired moved in the sand behind him.

He looked at Merik, hoping for something from the man, though he hoped it would be vocal, since he still couldn't make out any details thanks to the headbutt.

Ruma, finished with her talk with Kotone. Afterward, she headed down to the sparring grounds to meet up with Jin. However, when she got there, she found Jin in his armored form laying on the ground with Merik towering above him. She got worried for a moment, but Merik never allowed any permanent damage. She hoped.

Entering the arena, she walked up to the spot where Merik and Jin had previously been fighting. "I hope you didn't cause any permanent damage. Let's hope that you didn't injure his ribs during your little tussle." She walked up to Merik and gave him a hug, just because she was feeling friendly. "So how was the fight? Judging by the looks of it, you won."

"I could see where that would be useful, though I don't care for the tail at all." Merik replied before Ruma came up and hugged him.

"Nothing he won't recover from, a bit of training and he might be able to pick up some moves to match that armor and that punch." he said with a smirk before continuing with a knocking tap on her helmet. "And as you can see there is still only one person in this Fortress that can withstand a headbutt from me."

Jin got to his feet and just nodded his head toward them, not saying anything, but trying to ignore the pain in his side and the blood dripping down his face, though his armor hid them. "I would really enjoying getting some more combat skills. I think I need a bit more speed with this." Jin said, knowing that the fact that he was a little more distracted by Merik's speed was something that needed to be fixed.

He got to his feet and dusted off the legs of the armor a bit before walking over to the two. "I didn't win, but I know I didn't lose. This was good for me, I got to learn a few things about myself." He said, smiling at the two from behind the armor, though they wouldn't see it. "What do you do when you feel like you are a bit to sweaty? A bath or something?" Jin asked, wanting to clean up a little bit.

Ruma smiled at Merik, looking up at him. Way up.

"I'm not so certain your head won't put a hefty dent in this" she responded, tapping her helmet as well. It was study, but Merik had a big head. And not just figuratively due to his ego.

"Yeah, you might want to get yourself cleaned up. Even if you survived, a hot bath might do you some good." She couldn't see any of his scars due to the full armor, but sparring with Merik out in the desert made people sweaty, and a bath was ideal after that.

"Get yourself cleaned up and head back to my room. The collar can handle a bit of water so don't worry about keeping it dry." She walked out of the arena, back to her room to work on some projects and keep her mind occupied before she had to talk to Jin in private.

"Well you heard the lady, bath time for you." Merik said with a chuckle as he spit out a bit of blood.

He knelt and retrieved the scimitars and crossed them over his back before summoning Frostbite into hand and holding the flat of the frozen blade over his eye. He gave one last nod to Jin before walking into the armory to return the borrowed weapons.

Jin watched as the two left before un-equipping Lisa and gathering his stuff. His shields went back, unused but the weight still felt good when he was wearing them. He walking out and rubbed his head, feeling that it had crusted up, as well as the blood down his face, and he sighed.

"Alright... Bathtime." He said to himself and making way for the exit before a confused look sprang onto his face. "Wait... where are the baths..."
