I have opened up shop!"
Miss Celeste Ambrose threw open the wooden window shutters of her bakery. Sweet smells began to waft out into the light breeze that blew through the town. It was a lovely day, there was no doubt that she would have some customers today. No doubt at all! After all, her baked goods were out of this world... some might say, extraterrestrial...~
"Today's special is... a delicious sausage quiche!!" It was breakfast time, so what better time than to sell her fresh quiche. She had other quiches, and other pastries meant for breakfast, but this quiche was special... It was made with blood sausage. Ambrose cackled to herself.
To heighten the hype of her quiche, she made her way from the window, to the large wooden doors of her bakery. She threw them open and stood with her foot against one of the doors to keep it from closing. It was then that she threw her arms up into the air and held the quiche above her head, quite like she was reenacting that first scene from the Lion King.
"You know you want them! Fresh quiche! It's divine and delicious!"
Customers would start flooding in soon... oh yes, they would.

Gareth made his way through the early morning streets looking quite proud of himself. He also looked nothing like that Gareth that people knew him to be. No, for the time being he looked like a dark haired older gentleman who would likely come home that night wondering why his savings were gone and his wife was especially pleased with him. He had seen when the man would come back to town so he was in no rush to change back just yet.
As he was passing down a row of shops he took note of a woman yelling about her wonderful quiche and he felt his interest rise. Gareth had never tried quiche and while he had very little interest in the food he could not help but notice the woman who was holding it.
Gareth slowly made his way over to her and reached up to pluck a piece of it off of the tray. He gave it a sniff and turned it over this way and that to examine it. "Divine quiche, huh? How much?" He figured he may as well see what all the fuss was about.

Just like a fish to bait, she drew in her first customer of the day. But this customer needed to be taught some manners! She pursed her lips and closed her eyes, lifting a finger up to him. She wiggled it in a disapproving way before she began to lecture him. "Now now, those were not samples, sir," her finger stopped and her palm opened, "They are twenty rupees per slice, though I'll ask that you give me five for that bit you stole." |
Celeste twirled on her heel and descended into the depths of her shop. "Right this way!" she shouted. If and when he followed her in, he would see her slicing up the fresh pie-shaped quiche and scooping out the piece that already had a chunk missing. She glanced up with a bright smile on her face. With only a few fluid and graceful movements, she twirled over to the wall, grabbed some ribbon from a hanging spool, cut it with the knife she had used to slice the quiche, and then she reached for a box underneath the counter. When all was prepared, she piped up with a perky smile, "Will it be for here or to go?"tag :: gareth notes :: if only he knew what he was going to be eating... >:3 credit :: template by konya☆[/style]

He looked down at his fingers and a frown made its way across his features. "My apologies. I'll buy two to make up for the misunderstanding. They look lovely." He grinned widely and walked into the shop behind her and leaned against the counter. His eyes scanned her movements and he could not help but be impressed with her grace and ease of movement.
Gareth rested his elbow on the counter and propped his chin up in the palm of his hand. "I think I'll eat it here. I have not had any sort of breakfast yet and I think it would do me good to have some." He realized that he still had yet to even try the quiche and looked over the piece that he had accidentally stolen.
After bringing it to his nose to sniff at it gently he slipped the piece into his mouth and chewed it thoughtfully. It was different than most things he had eaten to date but it was not unpleasant.
