A fire of unknown origin Swept her up and off my wavelength, Swallowed her up, Like the ocean in a fire, So thick and grey. Death comes driving, I can't do nothing, Death goes There must be something, There must be something, That remains, There must be something, There must be something.... The Faron Woods. A place full of wildlife, full of faeries and animals, insects and plant life, Kokiri children and Skull kids. Unfortunately something was lurking in the woods at the moment. Something dark, shadowy and devious. Golden eyes shifted in the shadows almost glowing as they sought out a target or anything in particular that they would have fun with. Dark fingers toyed with the strap that secured a blade to his back. A smile played on pale features, a face framed by pitch black spiked hair that was jutting out at odd angles.
With these features the being stuck to the shadows, right now he didn't need his cloak, oh no, there were plenty of dark shadows and such for him to exploit. Make the most of and wander around in. That was why he liked this place. So many things created dark shadows that he could pass through easily without the feeling of being cooked alive out in the sunshine. If he had his way? He'd have destroyed that sun by now.
Though he did like the moonlit nights, they were enjoyable when the moon was non-existant or when the clouds covered it so that it couldn't harm him. Currently however he was wandering around during the daylight hours and as such he'd need to stay in the shadows of the Faron Woods. He may have been a little insane but that didn't mean he'd willingly risk his own life sprinting across the Hyrule Fields in broad daylight, that would just be stupid on a very very high level.
Glancing at the place in general he smirked. Hearing the rustle of bushes nearby his eyes flicked to them before he launched himself in to those bushes grabbing whatever it was that was sneaking around in there by the throat and dragging it out. A squirrel.
”Tch.. Stupid thing... More fool you for sneaking around...” Words spoken in a cold tone before he squeezed the poor animal that was in his grasp struggling and scratching to try and get away. It even tried to bite him but he just smiled even more as a few drops of his own blood ran down his arm. He didn't wear gloves today. He just didn't feel like it. Watching the thing struggle was amusing, though he slowly loosened his grasp to see the thing gasp for air. Torturing the animal. Giving it a chance to think it was actually able to possibly survive this encounter.
It had no chance the second he'd grabbed hold of it. It was almost like watching a cat and it's prey. They seemed to like the torture of their prey before they eventually killed it. A smirk as he repeated the process a second and third time and then eventually he became bored with it, snapping it's neck and tossing it aside to die. Watching the light of life leave the small animals eyes.
It was useless, just another useless toy broken and tossed away. That was all it deserved. It had no purpose. No significance.
More noise and he eventually shifted his gaze over in that direction before he looked at the animal. He found a use for it's carcass at least. Heaving a boot back he gave it a hard kick, sending the dying animal at whatever else was making noise before he slowly slid down the tree. A calm smile playing on his face. Now it was time to await the reaction of whatever was hiding in the area when that animal either hit or landed near them.

As an artist, it was only natural that he would wander to just about anywhere. And as a minish, it gave him all the more reason to visit the wonderful forests of yonder, to breathe in the peaceful air, and to see the wonderfully mesmerizing sight of trees overhead. Okay, maybe he was exaggerating there just a tiny bit. His natural habitat wasn't all that great, but it was great enough for him to roam around in without much care. Or so he thought, anyways.
The lynx minish was casually taking a walk through the forest, as we can all suspect. His tail lashing behind him patiently, as his silvery gaze wandered to the treetops, only returning to the ground if he felt he was about to stumble and fall. Of course, it would never happen anyways. He was a cat, and his home was pretty much a forest. Even if it was one he didn't traverse through often, he wasn't one to trip over foliage. He hardly seemed worried about the dangers of monsters and whatnot. After all, he was larger than a good lot of the fauna in the area. Yep. Everything was simply put, fine and dandy. As cliche as he could have been, it was all-too inevitable that the man would lazily stretch his arms over his head and say, "Man, what a beautiful day~"
Only it didn't come out as expected. Rather, the actual sequence went, "Man, wh--" And then a faceful of fur.
Flop, thud.
The ears that blended in his hair twitched, flicking to a state of alert, as his eyes swept over the ground, to where whatever had hit him had fallen. It took the Minish a moment to register the carcass; a tiny heap of fur, pertainingly mostly of the bushy tail he could see. A small hint of death slowly emanating from the thing, and the fact that it was still warm when it had made contact with him indicated that it had only died recently. No scent of blood also meant it probably was not any normal predator. Something that strangled or bashed, perhaps...
Those were the things the man probably should have been thinking, and if one asked, perhaps he was, in the back of his mind. For the first real thought that came to mind came to him as he threw both arms up, as if to praise the sky, or his "luck." "OH, goddesses! The goddesses have bestowed dinner upon poor ol' me!" The lynx cheered, tail still lashing behind him as he whooped to the hidden heavens above. It was only until afterwards that he noticed the strange figure that had appeared in the shadows before him, although he paid no heed to the oddness of it, or made a connection between the dead squirrel and the stranger. Seeing the shadow smiling, he could not help but grin in response. "I see you are here to witness this heaven-sent gift! Or perhaps you are the messenger that sent it?"
Whether the minish was serious about the dinner part was an enigma entirely on its own. |

A fire of unknown origin Swept her up and off my wavelength, Swallowed her up, Like the ocean in a fire, So thick and grey. Death comes driving, I can't do nothing, Death goes There must be something, There must be something, That remains, There must be something, There must be something.... The Twilight born male stuck to his shadows, though he couldn't help but grin even more. A slightly sadistic grin twisted in with one of amusement at the stranger getting a face full of fur and a dead carcass kicked at them. Tail, ears that could barely be seen. Something that gave away their race easily. Minish. Little more than animals. Rodents. Vermin. Something fun to play with.
"OH, goddesses! The goddesses have bestowed dinner upon poor ol' me!" A cheer and the Twili arched his brows upwards. Staying silent for a moment though his mouth turned in to a wide grin. That. Was freakin hilarious. Seeing someone or something do that just tickled something inside Origin. Something that happened to bring about childish laughter.
"I see you are here to witness this heaven-sent gift! Or perhaps you are the messenger that sent it?" Apparently the Minish had seen him... Finally. It took it long enough to notice him there. Still laughing though that laughter now grew louder and had a slight twinge of madness to it before he calmed himself and actually had to use the back of a finger to wipe away a tear. He'd laughed so hard he was almost shedding a lot of tears.
"Heaven-sent gift? That's priceless... Really... I just thought it was a useless rodent but sure by all means eat it if you really want... I could probably kill something larger, that isn't needed either." Those very last words, they were spoken in a different tone to the previous ones. There was something in undeniably creepy, twisted or perhaps even violent about those words. Not the words themselves but more so the tone and order in which they were spoken. Add to that, the golden eyes that were focused only on the Minish and it wasn't hard to tell what he meant when he spoke them. However, whether this oddball picked up on that or not was something yet to be seen.
"Why don't you come and play in the shadows with me?... I don't bite.... Hard...." A chuckle as he slowly rose to his feet, the tribal patterns on his chest and back were glowing blue at the moment. His mind currently flicked through decapitating the Minish and playing hide and seek with it, maybe catching it another meal, all of which differed in the end result. Two with the Minish dead, the last with a not so dead but more satisfied Minish that seemed to be happy enough to eat whatever animal was killed and tossed at it.

The sound of laughter was not an easy thing to miss. Especially not when the one laughing increasingly grew louder and more hysterical. The man did not seem to mind, however, and in fact, probably might have joined in with the laughing shadow near him. (I mean, when there was a time to laugh, why would he even think to miss out on that?!) If there was even the most blatant air of danger in the area, either the minish was truly unable to sense it, or he was feigning ignorance. Only those who knew him well would have been able to guess which was the correct answer.
Regardless, the lynx calmed himself sooner than his companion in the shadows, and once he had done so, stooped over with a quick motion, scooping up the dead squirrel in his hand, and holding on to it as if it were any other animal, alive, and not dead. The silvery-gray haired male was not really a morbid person, and yes, while he was kind of "homeless," he wasn't one to resort to primitive means of simply gorging on a raw corpse. No, if he could, perhaps he could put this carcass to better use. Later, though. Best not to try and eat in front of company if he couldn't serve everyone, and he was pretty sure this scrawny squirrel would not be enough for two.
And he wasn't positive the latter would like a taste, anyways.
The shadow managed to silence himself after a bit, and he began to speak in a moderately normal tone (save for the last bit, of course). At that, though, there fell a small silence. Call it awkward or impending if you will, but a silence was a silence, although it gave the impression that perhaps the truth was dawning upon the minish; perhaps he was about to bolt off into the forest and leave the stranger alone. But of course that was not the case, and the lynx briskly threw out his arm in a swooping motion, that which held the squirrel by the scruff of its neck, lifeless eyes staring back into the shadows. With this action, the minish's expression was whimsical and carefree, with a casual shrug of his shoulders as the squirrel swept past with a simple, "Hey, that's a cool story bro!"
"Why don't you come and play in the shadows with me?... I don't bite.... Hard...."
At these next words, the lynx let out a small sigh, shaking his head. "Shadows, shadows, always about the shadows..." He looked to the stranger, a small blue glow appearing from the shadows, further indicating the location of his friend. Using his free hand, he waggled a finger towards the other. "Sorry, friend, no can do. Shadows are great and all, but angsty teens abuse them way too much." He scoffed with a small snicker. "Along with the 'I don't bite.' Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but I know I do. Isn't that so, Mister squirrel!" The squirrel was reintroduced to the scene, suspended in front of the minish with his fingers grasping the animal by its paws, as he waved them about like a puppet. "Yeah, that's right!" His voice was squeaky and high, to mimic the poor creature. |

A fire of unknown origin Swept her up and off my wavelength, Swallowed her up, Like the ocean in a fire, So thick and grey. Death comes driving, I can't do nothing, Death goes There must be something, There must be something, That remains, There must be something, There must be something.... The silence. A small grin played on the Twili's face. Maybe the Minish understood now? Or perhaps he was confused? Either way this Twili didn't care much for which it was. Currently at that moment in time he saw the Minish as a potential target to practice on. The dead eyes of the squirrel stared back at Origin and he didn't really care. That was easy enough to see, he'd seen death, he didn't mind it and if anything reveled in the odd emotions and reactions it gave people.
"Hey, that's a cool story bro!" So the Minish shrugged it off. Something that made Origin's grin grow wider.
"Shadows, shadows, always about the shadows..." An arched brow. Why was it that this guy sounded like he was trying to be patronizing? Even if he was? It wasn't exactly working, if anything it only served to make the Twili chuckle.
"Sorry, friend, no can do. Shadows are great and all, but angsty teens abuse them way too much." A silence from the Twili. Then another chuckle. Angsty teens. Really? If he could walk in the daylight then he would. Perhaps these Angsty teens needed a small taste of what real angst was. Maybe by killing their loved ones off that would prove the point, or perhaps burning down their homes, maybe kicking them in to water and watching them drown before yanking them out only to kick them back in.
"Along with the 'I don't bite.' Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but I know I do. Isn't that so, Mister squirrel!" A grin again.
"Yeah, that's right!" A look of amusement and almost what one might call awe was now flourishing on the Twili's face. That. Right there. That what that Minish just did was amaaaaaazzziiinnnggg. It was like something Origin would do! Which made it all the more amusing to see someone else do it! So much so that he cracked up laughing though it didn't last long and it wasn't quite as hysterical as before.
"... I'm not an angsty teen... I'm a Twili I can't go anywhere other than shadows... As for you biting? I don't mind that at all~ It'd be amusing to me, after all that squirrel tried to bite me before~......... Nice puppetry though...." A light bow of the head as the Twili folded his arms across his chest and tilted his head to one side. This interaction was more fun than he initially thought it would be. So. This Minish was amusing, that meant he was useful, in turn that meant he didn't die today. Or at least not by Origin's hands, though that could all change in a matter of moments depending on where Origin's moods took him.
