Erik had brought in a nice haul from a recent job. The people were willing to pay well despite the relative ease of the mission. Erik was more than happy to accept the payment, but he knew he wasn't going to need all of it. He kept a small portion of the fees for himself, and the rest. Well...
Erik found himself in the lowest, dirtiest parts of town. Places few ever dared to venture. Places he'd known since he was 6. People here were often sick, starving, or worse. Erik was their champion, and at times, their savior. As he found more poor wandering the streets, he would stop and give them a few rupees. Not much, but enough for them to survive. He knew what it was like to scavenge for years. Not a fate anyone should share.

Daemien came back to the poorer district after being abroad for a while. His new job as a Monster Hunter took him around the country, and beyond the border of Lanayru Providence. In fact, he had to face some dangers in the forest and got rewarded for his efforts. Daemien had decided to come back because he felt he needed to help out in his community, but he would meet a robed man in a part of the district that he wasn't familiar with. "Are you here to help the poor as well, sir?" Daemien asked him politely in a formal manner.

During his adventures in donating to the poor and making sure they were adequately fed, he came across someone who didn't seem nearly as poor. He analyzed this approaching figure. Armed. Not well-dressed, but his clothes weren't tattered. He had a decent amount of body paint, which made him seem sort of...decorated.
"Hmm? Ah, yes. You see, I used to be in their position. Scavenging, hoping for a particularly comfortable trash heap to settle in for the night." His arms danced around as he spoke. He wasn't eloquent, but he didn't lack drama.
"You, on the other hand. You seem like you take care of yourself." He surveyed the man once more, before bowing to him. "Name's Erik. You can discard the formalities, I do not use them. Well, I do, but others don't have to. I'm a street urchin by trade." He still had the fingers to prove it. He wondered what this man was doing in the slums. It didn't seem like his crowd. Then again, you wouldn't expect it to be Erik's crowd from his dress and mannerisms. He had to outgrow it when he entered retail.

"I'm Daemien, and I too am a street urchin myself. Fortunately, though, I was able find work as a Monster Hunter..." Daemien said before he tripped over himself and fell. Yes, he was still accident prone and always had been. It was just fortunate that he fell in town, but that was somewhat debatable. Daemien's attire was mostly for combat purposes, but it still held a style to it. He had brought some firewood and flint, but now the wood was scattered about.

So here they were. Two street urchins who managed to escape, and have now returned to help out their fellow man. Except one was now on the ground, his wood scattered on the ground. He began to help gather the wood up for Daemien.
"Careful. That ground is tricky sometimes." He laughed to himself. Sure he felt bad that Daemien had fallen, but it was still kinda funny in a schadenfreude kind of way.
"So you're a monster hunter huh? You must be in the guild. I met your guildmaster recently. Fane was his name if I remember correctly. Nice guy. Tried to recruit me, but I respectfully declined. Guild work really isn't my thing, but I offered to help freelance if he ever needed it." When he was finished gathering up the wood he offered it back to Daemien, who also seemed like a good enough guy, if a bit clumsy.

"Thank you, I'll get the fire started." Daemien replied thankfully and politely as he hurried over to an open area, laid out the wood, and used his Crimson Burst Mode to use a spark of his crimson lightning to set the wood on fire. This ability was the only magic that he knew. However, he hoped that no hybrid haters would notice the energy spike around him. "Sorry about earlier, I'm quite accident prone." Daemien said calmly and very honestly.

Erik put the wood in the fire and watched as Daemien shot the fires to life. Very impressive. Erik watched as many of the less fortunate began to be drawn to the fire, a source of warmth that came as comfort given the dropping temperatures.
"Nice work. They'll enjoy the fire while it lasts. I remember when I was drawn to fire, back when I was on the streets. Such a great, some warmth on the face, something to smell other than garbage and my own rotting stink." He got a couple of dirty looks from some of the poor and rolled eyes laughing. "Oh come now, anyone who was here ten years ago knows I smelled the worst of all of us."
He then turned his attention back to Daemien, who was apologizing for some reason. "Huh? What did you do to inconvenience me enough to warrant an apology. So you fell, you got back up didn't you?" He put out a hand to shake with Daemien. He seemed a nice enough sort, if a bit clumsy.
