APPEARANCE,
Briar Black was born a genetic oddity to her community: an albino Gerudo with pinkish-red irises-- oscillating between the two colors frequently-- and white hair devoid of any pigment at all. Typically she wears her hair in two long pigtails, that reach down to her hips. She died at the delicate age of twelve and so her body is frozen in a petite and prepubescent state. Her height is roughly four feet, eleven inches; her weight a mere eighty-five pounds.
Briar also has a mysterious scar that rounds her entire neck, and at times her right eye emanates a pink-red flame.
WEAPONS,
Elysium
Elysium, the place deemed to be where dead heroes go; this colossal scythe, crafted by the bones and metallic elements of Hell itself, serves as an intermediate before that terminal destination to any who dare go against it. The tiny girl wields this massive weapon like the grim reaper himself, showing virtually no struggle at all carrying its weight which easily doubles her own.
ITEMS,
Each member of the crew is given a crystal necklace known as the Pirate’s Charm. If a member of the crew speaks the name of a crewmate into the stone they will be able to speak to each other now matter how far apart they are. Also if a member of the crew calls to the Defiant the message will reach the Communications Master via the Gossip Stone on the ship. As well as being able to contact individual Charms, the Gossip Stone can also send out a message to all the Charms simultaneously (generally in the event of an emergency).
ABILITIES,
Hell's Allure
Bitter from the years of abuse, this ability enables Briar to accelerate her prepubescent body years into the future, and gives her the body and face of a woman in her early twenties. She uses it for her vendetta, to get revenge by means of seduction.
The Hellebore's Bloom
Hellebore, a flower that blooms in the winter-- so too is this ability activated when Briar finds herself in harsh conditions. Used in conjunction with Elysium, Briar will slash through the space around her, encircling herself in a ring of bright purple energy, which appears to open up to the depths of Hell itself. Any who get within range, or step pass the boundaries of the ring, will immediately be blasted back and suffer immense damage.
Cooldown of six posts.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Phantasm: A constant passive ability, no Poe can be touched by a solid non-magical object, but neither can they touch them as well.
Energy Blast: The Poe can fire off a sphere of pure energy, capable of dealing moderate damage if it hits an opponent. Two post Cooldown.
Energy Drain: The Poe's body becomes completely fluid energy, capable of absorbing a single magical attack used against them and healing a moderate portion of their health regardless of how strong the attack was. Six Post Cooldown.
Invisibility: The Poe temporarily turns completely invisible, meaning the enemy cannot target them in the next turn; if they find themselves in an area-of-effect attack, they are still vulnerable, however. Only lasts for two turns, and has a cooldown of six posts.
Scream: A screeching sound wave that disorients all nearby enemies for one turn, preventing them from being able to attack, but does allow them to defend. Usable once every six posts, but is only only available to characters that start out as Poes.
HISTORY,
THEME:Nocturne.op.9.no.2
Briar Black was born approximately 1 minute and 13 seconds after her older twin, Lilith Black. The two girls were one of the many females born to the Gerudo race, and yet were still anticipated to be two promising additions to the combat oriented species, due to the exceptional gene pool from which the were begotten. This all changed for Briar Black, when it was discovered that she was a genetic anomaly in the Gerudo tribe. Not only had she been born lacking typical dark Gerudo integumentary and iris pigments--an albino--but she had also been born with a heart defect. More specifically, she had been born the mirror image of her sister, Lilith, including her internal organs. This meant that she had been born with her heart on her right side, instead of the left, which caused major health constraints and left her practically incapable of doing battle.[/blockquote]
This was seen as an utmost shame by her family and peers, and instead of being treated with sympathy, the girl was shown only malice and hate for her condition, ostracized by virtually everybody in the community except her twin sister, Lilith. As Briar grew older, she was labeled as nothing more than an aberration of their society. Though she would have liked to believe it was a misnomer, her own physical shortcomings convinced her that the cruel words of others were indeed her reality.
Briar soon learned that isolating herself from her own family may have been her best chance for repose. And so she did, eventually even making friends with a mischievous Hylian boy from a surrounding area, who she would, at times, sneak out to see. For once in her life, things did not seem so bleak.FUNERAL DIRGE:Lacrimosa.elegy
But to see one who was deemed as a mistake and a genetic stain on their entire species, going on with her life-- even in this fabricated and false sense of peace-- was not something that the Gerudo women were going to tolerate. The taunts and harassment escalated into torture. They would beat her, abuse her, and occasionally sell off Briar's young body to strange men of other races. Soon the treatment reached its pinnacle, and one moonless, opaque night, a group of Gerudo women gathered to kill the girl seen as nothing but genetic trash who put their society at risk of contamination. Briar was seized from her home and her family, and the women took her out into the desert, and hung her on a makeshift stake, clumsily made from rotting wood. As Briar was about to expire, the stake collapsed, leaving the girl in a heap on the sand, and on the edge of death. One of the Gerudo women, hastily pulled out a sharp blade and pierced the young girl's failing heart, as well as her right eye. Briar was left to bleed to death in the desert, alone...
