A meeting of minds. That's what she called it. Two minds, equally driven to a cause rejected by many, aiming to further their own cause to mutual benefit. Simple really. Naturally, however, the communication involved was a little more complicated. The theory of getting the two sides to work harmoniously was basic. The principle however, was a little more complicated.
Some Hybrids, for example, were as devout, if not more devout than many Hylians, or other races of Hyrule, and rejected technology as much, if not more than the rest. Conversely, some of the other open-minded inventors like herself were as prejudiced against Hybrids as the stoic religious sects. A pity really, considering the thought was driven less through any actual empirical evidence, only through conjecture. They were unstable. Rogue. An aberration. Seraphina shook her head despondently.
Still, hope remained. She hoped that this, Rwaht, the Hybrid Praetor, was as open minded as she was. The new order to things. Technology and magic as one. Hybrids and purebreeds as one. They were not immutably different. Not intrinsically to be distilled, and one cast aside for the other to flourish. They were better together. That's how she saw it anyway. She sat upon a rock, her hand charring the surface, deep in thought, unaware of quite how much heat she was generating. The rock was slowly beginning to splinter and blacken under the heat. She noticed a figure, tall, brown haired, carrying a bizarre hybrid between a blade, and some sort of... Other, weapon. This had to be him. She hopped down from the rock, hitting the ground lightly, smiling lightly at the man.
Are you Rwaht? The Hybrid Praetor? Seraphina Herodor. Champion. Glad you could make it here, sorry for any inconvenience.
Her tone was brisk, but light, generally trying to keep the meeting informal as possible, but keeping herself from sounding like she was skirting round any possible business.
I won't mess around with diplomatic niceties. You want Hybrid rights, I want technological recognition. Both of us are repressed by pious fools who are afraid of the unknown, for fear of losing their own standing. That makes us natural allies. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The smile danced upon her face, as she observed the tall man carefully, watching his movements, taking particular note of the blade he carried. She looked on intently at it, as though trying to mentally break it down into component parts as she looked at it. She ached to know how it worked. But there were more pressing matters. At least, at the moment.

Rwaht was curious about this Seraphina, for multiple reasons. Firstly, as the new leader of this emerging technology group, she was powerful. Secondly, Rwaht himself had an admiration for technology, probably owing to the fact that much of his life had been spent learning how to maintain and operate Goron technology, particularly the weapons. Also, he was told she had more than a minor propensity towards flame. He didn't know how to feel about that, but he tried not to think about it too much. As he approached, he saw her smile, and was a little surprised. He'd been expecting someone a bit more abrasive and fierce. It was a welcome surprise.
"The very same," Rwaht said, inclining his head by way of greeting. "Don't worry. Inconvenience seems to be my general way of life," he added dryly, thinking that maybe he'd been biting off more than he could chew lately. He grew more serious, however, when she started to talk business.
"It might ... except you can't forget, I don't exactly lead the Hybrids. I protect them. If half of them think technology is devil's work, and the other half gravitate towards a cause like yours ... who do I support?" Rwaht said, crossing his arms as he spoke. He noticed she was looking at his weapon, so he drew it. "Interested?" he asked. "I don't blame you. Interesting device, this. Built by a Goron smith." Rwaht flipped out the chamber, and spun the cylinders around. They were filled with a reddish, magical energy, put there by Rwaht himself. he ran his hand along the blade, pointing out several of the gears and mechanisms that made it work. "That Goron was a genius. Taught me how to maintain this weapon. He told me, 'Rwaht, every piece of this weapon has a purpose. They all go together. The smallest pin, the full metal blade, the grip, it all goes together. Without even one of these pieces, it is incomplete, and will break.' That's what he said. Always stayed with me."
Rwaht sheathed the weapon again.
"Truthfully? I appreciate your cause. I even support it. But everything has a place. And those pious fools run churches. Sometimes those churches house orphans. Not all the times. Sometimes they beat them. But I see to the beatings," Rwaht said, and for the first time there was a dark note in his voice, something threatening and cruel. It was only for a moment, though, and passed, "Could we come to some sort of agreement? I think so. But I'm not going to devote myself entirely to one cause, I hope you understand. The truth of the matter is, I can't."

Seraphina listened with rapt attention as Rwaht spoke. It was a start at least. The two had a common cause, but both of them had their own additional concerns, much the same as each others. Some of their group might not actually want interaction with the other, whether through fear of the other directly, or that if they were to be associated with them, it would make their situation worse. A fair statement. She was pleased with the result. Not an idealist, nor a closed-minded fool. She smiled at Rwaht, her skin aglow, her hope kindled again. An arrangement could possibly be made.
But this weapon... This caused her mind to whirr frantically. It was clearly magical, as evinced by the red that seethed within the chambers. Set upon a rotating mechanism, this was exactly what she saw in almost every invention she thought of. Magic and machinery fused as one. The mundane with the exceptional. Fabulous. She had to tear herself away from her mental deconstruction of how it worked in order to speak to him about the matter in hand.
[red]True enough, true enough. Regrettably, while I would like very much to oust all those who simply cast my fellow artisans and I aside as heretics and monsters entirely, it is not really an option. they do provide a service, one that I can appreciate, if not fully understand, as well as another, one that you clearly need, that is, in my eyes, a most worthy undertaking.[/red]
She thought for a moment before continuing.
[Red]Now, about this arrangement. You command the Sentinels do you not? [/red]
