What a technological marvel this trip had been facilitated by! A sky cannon, a means with which to propel the wingless into flight up to the palace that now lay before her. Such a wondrous device! Seraphina marveled at the idea behind such a device, her brief study of it as she had been loaded up into the breach had yielded little, being so well crafted, both aesthetically and mechanically. Not a single way to see into the mechanism behind it. She had been as awed as she had been disappointed. She would have to enquire into its construction. Most certainly.
And that, indirectly, was why she was here. Ryst Seraphine, Lord of the Sky, the Oocca Lord, was the ruler of this marvelous edifice, of this veritable treasure upon high. She hoped to discover some of the secretes behind the City in the Sky, the technological marvels that were present, to unravel secrets that many of the priesthood 'down below' claimed was 'heretical', 'blasphemous' or 'un-natural'. Such narrow minded thinking... Things were on the move. Something told her that much. She was unsure what was moving exactly, but it was.
She pushed her way through the doors, after being admitted by one of the palace guards, an Oocca clad in very light armour, carrying an ornate spear befitting that of a royal guard. Her stride was confident, if a little impetuous, paying little or no heed to the fact that the creature who sat upon the throne was in fact one of the most powerful denizens of Hyrule, before speaking to him directly, ignoring all formality.
I must say Lord Seraphine, you have a truly magnificent domain. Such wonders, such wonders. That cannon itself is something that many would deem as impossible. Marvelous.
Her eyes, skin and hair glowed with her inner-light, stoked by her fervent praise of such technological magnificence, shifting between colours, flamelike and almost alive in themselves, as though life surged and flickered within her very body, seething, struggling to escape. Her smile was broad, unconcerned with the complete lack of formality she was displaying.
Seraphina. Seraphina Herodor my Lord. But you've probably been told that. Word on the wing and all. Wanted to talk to you about a possible arrangement, if you're willing to listen to it?
She stopped, standing next to a pillar, her hand rested upon it, marveling the texture, the sheer grandeur that surrounded the place. This entire edifice was testimony to abilities and skills far beyond most Hylian artisans. Being that it was in the sky.

Ryst’s standard place these days was sitting on his throne. The sky held relative peace compared to the land below, as anyone who shot up there via the cannons were immediately met by guards and the general public. No one could arrive that way unannounced. Meanwhile those who could fly were often seen far off by sentries and guards. That being said a few people did manage to sneak through, but it was even harder to manoeuvre the City in the Sky without being seen, as there were many wide open places. Nothing bad could happen, and if it did Ryst could lock the place down with a word.
That being said, Ryst wished something would happen. He could understand why it was that most lords and ladies gained weight and became quite plump sitting on that throne all day. When Ryst heard from his herald that Seraphina Herodor had arrived, he perked up. It was an interesting time. First the Hybrid Praetor pays him a late night visit and now the Human Champion walks right in through the door as if she owned the place. Soon enough Ryst expected a personal visit from the likes of Zelda herself, though that was wishful thinking. The sky held peace, the land did not.
”I can’t take the credit for it,” Ryst spoke in response to Seraphina’s comments on his domain. ”I merely took up the throne to maintain the realm. The cannons were there before I was even born, I don’t know how they work personally nor do I care, so long as they keep working. And I have engineers to keep them going for me, so I needn’t worry,” he added dismissively, leaning back and relaxing in his throne some. He’d heard such praises before.
”Another arrangement. You land dwellers are having so much trouble down there that you have to flee to the sky?” It was a jest, but Ryst wasn’t one to laugh, not on the throne. ”The birds have chirped of you, Champion Herodor, you and your abilities. You may have difficulties up here, though, as the blowing wind extinguishes flame that isn’t sheltered.” Despite the comments, though, he motioned forward for Seraphina to continue with her proposition.

Seraphina continued to marvel at the architecture as the Oocca Lord spoke to her. She should really have known better than to think that all leaders of peoples had knowledge of the particulars in their dominion. Why, in Hyrule itself, the pitiful wretches within the church refused to acknowledge that her artifice was worth any note. An aberration, a corruption they called it. The thought made her blood boil, even now. She retracted her hand quickly, before permanently left a blackened imprint where her temper threatened to overflow, incandescent fury causing her to blaze brighter for a moment before she brought it to heel. She looked at Ryst, smiling slightly.
Of course. After all, what are engineers for. As for crises on the ground, news travels quickly 'pon the wing, but no, I come not strictly for our troubles, merely an exchange of ideas.
She paused for a moment, before laughing slightly at his comment. The little birds had spoken of her had they? Hopefully not too much, and with little prejudice. Not the sort of thing she wanted prior to actually meeting with the noble Lord, who now sat, at least slightly interested before her.
Ah, a normal flame, true enough, but my flame will burn brightly long after all fuel has been consumed, in the harshest of gale force winds. Such is the joy of these, 'abilities' you have been told of.
Her manner was altogether casual, still not recognising formality, for what need was there to waste time with frippery when far greater topics were to be addressed.
In essence, what I propose is this. I wish to try and learn the secrets to your magnificent realm. To understand what it is that keeps this edifice aloft, by what mechanism does your domain operate. In return, you may request what you wish from me. If you have heard of my abilities, you will have also heard of what I can do with those abilities.
Seraphina never broke eye contact with the Oocca Lord as she delivered her proposition. Her eyes shifted colour, burning in their sockets, hopefully, expectantly waiting for a good answer.
