One for the Dark Lord on his Dark Throne In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie He had locked himself in a quiet room in Barad-Dur. He had specifically told the guards not to come in unless he specifically told them to. Nightmare was going to be in here for a while. He was finally in the mood, finally getting ready to let his inner mad scientist out. And he knew that the end result would be nothing short of amazing if he did everything right. It would be revolutionary, unstoppable. Perfect for military combat. It would be a massive machine. The missing link between infantry and artillery. Nightmare brought paper in front of him, and grabbing a quill, started to scribble down the basic outlines of the blueprint. The lines slowly started to form something decipherable. But that wasn't the only thing he was drawing. Weapons, usable weapons for this beast on separate pieces of paper. Gears, openings, everything he was drawing up as a basic outline on separate pieces of paper. But each thing was coming one at a time. Setting the quill down, he looked at the paper. And smiled. He had a name for it. "Metal Gear..." Examining the paper, he looked at it again, wondering what to do with what he had in front of him. "If it's a quadrupedal, it'll be slow but stable, and as is, it's too heavy to transport to the mainland..." He murmured under his breath as he got up and paced. "Then again, if it's here at all times, it'll deter attacks..." He whispered as he paced back and forth in this room.

One for the Dark Lord on his Dark Throne In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie But what would the weapon entail? Nightmare looked back at his schematics, unsure what to really do concerning the actual building. This thing would be a weapon of warfare. It would revolutionize the way battles were fought, and give the Monsters a vice grip on Hyrule. But Nightmare didn't want to dominate Hyrule. He had no intention of forcing that vice grip. But Hyrule might eventually want to go to war with him. Blame him for everything that was happening. Or perhaps they would attack his new ally. If they did, then he would indeed step in, and that was where Metal Gear would come in handy, defending the Black Lands. Nightmare ceased pacing, and instead took his quill, and the sketching resumed. First off, it would have cannons. Those would be its main weapon of damage, a series of cannons that would batter and bash the opponent, allowing them to take chunks out at a time. He would station it all over the beast, allowing it to attack from all angles. But what ammunition would it use? There was the standard cannonball, of course, but those were good against buildings. What would be useful against a squad of infantry? Nightmare immediately began sketching the idea he had; a canister. Inside that canister, there would be nearly two smaller lead balls, kept inside the canister by a soft material, perhaps a sort of paper? Yes, and when it fired, the balls would fire out of the canister and spread, effectively turning into a high-powered shotgun. Nightmare smirked as the sketch began to take a more detailed form. But then of course, there was how durable it would be.

One for the Dark Lord on his Dark Throne In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie "I could use thick plated steel..." He mused. The Emperor rose from his chair once again and started to pace. But that left another problem; conductivity. Any idiot with lightning magic could seriously hamper Metal Gear if he just left it with steel plating. No, he had to come up with something that could help against lightning, otherwise a ton of money, and resources, could be thrown away in just a couple of minutes by a strong enough lightning attack, he had to think of something. "Copper." Was his answer. Namely. Copper Wires. He smirked. This could work. If he placed copper wiring throughout Metal Gear's frame, then they could catch any electrical attacks and redirect it into someplace harmless. But why just make something to negate it? Why not use something that could perhaps make that electricity useful? Yes... a cannon. Another cannon, this one larger than the others. Nightmare sat back down, grabbed another piece of paper and started sketching once again. The sketch was thankfully much easier. A long barrel, a cannon barrel. Inside were little knobs, clearly something that would be vital. Those would be the feeders, something to boost the power of the electricity it absorbed. Those feeders fed into one last object, which would then fire out an incredibly powerful electrical attack. Perhaps if a large enough cannon ball could be stuffed in, it would turn the projectile into a weapon of mass destruction. Nightmare grinned as he continued to sketch, this time making one of a few kinds of designs for copper wiring.
