APPEARANCE,Sharp dark brown eyes, although stricken with a hint of red hues, Kahz has long jet-black hair that he tends to keep in a ponytail. He has naturally-tanned skin, and various scars on his face and body from past sword battles with both his trainers and adversaries. He's usually seen with the same robe-like shirt and pants, both are black in colour and lined with white linen cloth. His coat was sewn together with spare fabric from his pants, and acts as a light but comfortable outer layer. His teal armbands keep him protected in battle, as well as act like warming gauntlets. He wears black socks and straw sandals, for maximum comfort and mobility for his long and seemingly endless travels. Kahz keeps his sword and weapons on his person at all times, usually fastened around his waist or in his jacket attached to a worn-out grey sash. Kahz's most useful article would have to be his hat, that he's seen wearing almost every second the sun's in the sky. Although comfortable and protects him from the sun's rays, but stylish and a little badass.
WEAPONS,
× Howling Blade;
A katana of great importance to Kahz, for it was his sole inherited weapon from his late father in his youth. This blade has been his alone for many years, and has kept him alive in many battles during his journey through the lands of Hyrule. Although the hilt and blade are slightly worn from weathering and regular use, Kahz makes a point of cleaning and sharpening the blade every so often.
× Throwing Knives;
Short 7'' Solid Steel blades, curved and sharpened to a point with looped hilts for easier handling. Kahz uses these at longer range than his sword and often makes a point at retrieving them for later use. Although he began his journey around age seventeen, Kahz has only managed to lose five of the original twelve in his set. Kahz has made a point of tying bright red and green cloth to each of his remaining seven blades, making them much easier to find after use.
Here's a reference picture of the blades: .
ITEMS,
× Fishing Rod;
An average-sized fishing rod Kahz brought along for his journey. Collapsible to fit within his baggage, the drifter is often caught fishing for his next meal. Like they say, 'Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, but teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime.'.
× Flute;
Passed onto him from his mother, this treasured flute was played by his mother to him as a child. The heartfelt lullaby she would play to him since his birth until the later days of his life stuck with him, and as he set off on his journey she gave it to him as a parting gift. To this day Kahz enjoys playing it on his off chance, with his mother's lullaby being his favorite piece.
ABILITIES,
× Flame Dominance;
Kahz is able to summon and manipulate flames at will, for any number of purposes. Although this skill is very minor and not incredibly powerful, it may still be useful in any number of situations. This skill cannot be upgraded.
× Two Post Duration
× Moderate Damage
× Two Turn Cooldown
× Counter;
When attacked physically, Kahz is able to block or deflect the blow; followed immediately after by a swift sword attack of his own. Magical attacks may only be deflected or dodged, never countered, and still cause half damage.
× One Post Duration
× Moderate Damage
× Three Turn Cooldown
× Martyr;
This ability takes a great amount of concentration on Kahz's behalf. Based off of an ancient sword skill taught to him by his late father, Kahz can infuse his blade with flames and attack the enemy head-on. When using this attack Kahz makes himself vulnerable to the opponent. This ability may only be used when the enemy is attacking with a high-damaging blow, and in the process Kahz will receive the full damage in the process. This technique is very rare, and due to the self-sacrificing nature of this ability, Kahz will not use it unless absolutely necessary. This can only be used once per thread.
× One Post Duration
× High Damage
× One Thread Cooldown
RACIAL ABILITIES,[/color]
× Flexibility;
As all humans are adaptable to various locations and climates, so too are they felxible in combat and skills. As Kahz has trained with a sword since his early years, his agility and strength in battle match that of a skilled swordsman; his only magical ability (fire manipulation) was passed on by his mother.
HISTORY,
Born and raised into a noble family, Kahz was introduced to weaponry at a young age by his father, Rhizo, a master swordsman. His mother Erisu was a beautiful traveling performer once, who's talent for summoning and manipulating fire in her acts gained her much respect and adoration all across hyrule. It all began when Erisu and her troupe were making their way to kakariko village to perform, when on the way through hyrule field they were attacked by bandits. Rhizo was on his way back to kakariko from lake hylia and saw what was happening; he jumped into battle without hesitation to fand off the bandits. Moments after the bandits fled, he came face-to-face with Erisu and they quickly became friends.
In the years afterward, Erisu left her troupe and departed for the desert province with Rhizo, where she bore him a son; Kahz. The family lived happily together, the son was taught how to protect himself by both his mother's fire and his father's blade. There in a small village hidden in the canyons of the desert province, Kahz was trained by his father and several others under Rhizo's teaching. After many years of the family being nestled away in the quiet desert canyons, On Kahz's sixteenth birthday, his home came under attack when it was discovered by the gerudo pirates. In that night their entire village was burned to the ground as Kahz and his parents fled to the caves to escape. Kahz's father was badly injured protecting his family, and died later in the caves with his son and wife by his side.
From then on Kahz and his mother had to flee the desert province, to make it safely to the Lanaryu province, lest they be captured or killed by the gerudo. Only two days after his father's passing, Kahz and Erisu left the caves after burying Rhizo and marking his grave; when the gerudo had finally left the remains of their village alone. On their way across the haunted wasteland they were discovered by the gerudo that attacked their village and chased across the plains; finally Erisu and Kahz were captured. When taken back to the gerudo fortress, Erisu and her son fought for their escape, and when overwhelmed Erisu was slain. Kahz was able to escape after the struggle, but from then on refused to turn back.
Now with both of his parents killed and his home destroyed, Kahz became a wanderer; a stranger from a distant land. Over the past seven years he's since left the Desert province and now wanders aimlessly through hyrule, training his sword skills and becoming a sword-for-hire whenever needed. Although Kahz has been through difficult times, he still faces each new face with an earnest smile; his carefree attitude carries on even after all the hardships.
"Ain't nothin' but just another stranger."
