All was peaceful in Kakariko Village as the sun went down. Shopkeepers locked their doors and headed home to the sweet smell of home cooked meals waiting for them, to the laughing and crying of their children, or even to the amber sea they find every night. Some had it better than others, some had it worse, but none of them could complain about their existence, especially on a calm, silent evening like this one. The sun cast a red glow against the clouds and somewhere a single bird decided to sing its song for all to hear. It was the epitome of a perfect night.
Despite the pleasant sky and the peaceful cloud arrangement, some wisely predicted this to be the calm before the storm. Of course they only meant weather, but a storm certainly did come. The sun disappeared behind the mountain, and as the last beams of light left the village, a heavy silence settled over the still-active community. While people buzzed about finishing their business before turning in for the night the air felt thick, almost humid but without the heat or moisture. It was strange, but people paid it no mind.
At least, not until the first scream echoed across the village. The scream was cut off by a bloodcurdling gurgle and then all fell silent again. Silent except for the sound of shuffling, like something was being dragged through the dirt. Which it was. Another cry rang across the village. ”The dead are walking! The dead are walking! Zombies! Zomb-“ sang the voice before it was cut off and turned into another scream, a cry for help. The shuffling continued, as all through the village, filtering in from the mountain, from the fields, and from the graveyard, the dead walked. [Zombies are invading the village! Who will step up to stop them? There are four slots available in this event on a first come, first serve basis. Posts should be at least 150 words but do not need to be long-winded. This will be a fairly fast event, with posts made every 24 hours, roughly. If you are skipped you will get two more chances, so if you are skipped three times you will be removed from the event upon the third strike to make room for other people. This event will be LS-style to keep things running smoothly. Every zombie has one level of health. For simplicity’s sake, since there are more zombies than can be counted, they will act together at a fairly judged level with one action slot each. Rewards will be given based on body counts, which will be kept track of in each zombie post along with status and health of the participants. Happy hunting]

Today was a horrendous day for Dekethorn. He didn't see anyone on the roads worth looting from, and the gorons nearly rolled him off of the hill. He slumped back into Kakariko village. For the first time in not too long, he had failed the entire day. But as he was walking back, he heard screams. The villagers were running from something, but he couldn't tell what. He his within a bush for camo and looked around before seeing the source of the commotion.
The walking dead had come in for a nighttime snack. Slowly Dekethorn maneuvered himself closer to the village, trying to be sneaky. He didn't think the zombies were vegetarian, so it shouldn't be an issue for him to get in some theft while the commotion was going on. Did zombies eve like Deku? Maybe.
On his way towards the first house, the zombies seemed to take notice of the glowing eyes walking through the village and began to meander towards him. "Dammit, I thought you people didn't like wood. Well, here goes nothing. Gotta blow off steam somehow. Mwee Hee Hee!" He began to take potshots at the closest zombies, aiming straight for their heads, one by one with his nuts.

Ah zombies, God's cannon fodder. Nightmare loved it whenever these bastards showed up. It meant that he got to wreak some havoc, and this time, he had a buddy to come along with him. He had brought the Drossling along. This little guy was going to pretty much be the one who turned the whole time. It was kind of sad that Nightmare himself probably wouldn't end up as MVP, so much as it would be the Drossling that ended up as the MVP. That would come across as weird. Nightmare held the Drossling in his arms as he watched the dead start walking. He smirked at the beasts as the Ultimate Shield activated, covering his body in hardened carbon. If these were the usual bity physical zombies, then this was going to be hilariously one sided. They wouldn't be able to hurt him. And with Drossling in his arms, he'd be able to let the little guy do his thing without worry of them all dying. As drossling started charging, Nightmare stood his ground. This was going to be fun.

"Ooooh~! Looks like I made it just in time. The party's only getting started," the Twilight Princess joked darkly. The sound of cries filled with fear echoing through the valley of the simple village, it brought a sigh out from her lips. Now this was a good day for target practice~
For the most part, Midna was tempted to just lay back for a while, and see how things pan out. That didn't seem to be the case the second Nightmare pulled up carrying the little tike that he picked up earlier before. No fair~ She wanted a prize like that, but for now, she could only suppose she should help him out. That was apart of some set of obligations that would be nice to meet between allies, right?
For now, she hovered carefully around, finding a nice spot to view the surrounding area, not really feeling like doing anything as of yet. She had to get a good look at what she was dealing with before initiating a strategic, and tactical battle plan. Yeah... she was just being lazy at the moment.

A small sigh escaped from his lips. This is what he gets for following his princess, and overall... his instincts. Akira just knew that there was something in Kakariko Village, but as of what eluded him. Now he got the answer he was looking for, and judging from the looks of it, it wasn't pretty. Scrutinizing the mob of walking dead coming their way, he could only speculate that those things weren't friendly. Probably would be wise to take them out, correct? A small nod of his head quietly agreeing with himself reassured the Twili Adviser as he put on his ten rings.
"You really should take fighting a little more seriously, your highness," he sighed. Or at least try. Pulling out three strings of his Heartstrings, he quickly latched his strings onto the nearest zombies that came within range, and began wrapping them up. All in attempt to bind them down as tightly as he could, he waited for the chance to watch them rip to thin little ribbons.

OOC Edit: Ah, looks like I was beat to the fourth spot, sad day. So just disregard this post! "Zombies...really?" Animus said as he entered the Kakariko Village. There we screams for help coming throughout the village but by the time one were to aid, it would already be too late. The walking dead didn't seem to notice the Hylian as he made his way farther into the small village. They seemed like simple minded zombies who would be very easy to defeat, the only bad thing was that they traveled in packs. Or was it a bad thing? Animus made his way to the nearest hut and peered in. There was three small Kokiri huddled together inside and at first they were frightened by the Hylians entrance, but when they noticed he wasn't a zombie everything was a little better. Not paying them too much attention he walked back out into the village. The Hylian was looking for anyone that wasn't a Kokiri and anyone that wasn't a zombie. At this point it seemed like he was the only person in the village who could do something about the infestation. That is until he spotted someone hovering in the air, that was definitely not a zombie. Animus made his way over toward the only other normal person he could see, at the moment. This would be interesting. Actions: Nothing.

The silent shuffling became more than that as the calm over the village was completely annihilated. Screams echoed off the walls of buildings, doors, windows and anything weak enough to be broken were as the zombies filtered in from everywhere. Beyond the reach of the village light a seemingly endless swarm of the undead, hungry for whatever living meat they could get their hands on. Their moans filled the air and seemed to drive the panicking citizens into a frenzy.
People fled through any means necessary, even over each other. The only ones not running were the four heroes characters who stepped forth. Though each seemed to have questionable enough morality, they seemed interested in killing the zombies, whether it be through bloodlust or actual nobility (ha!). Either way the zombies didn't care too much about the morality of those opposing them. The stationary warriors were merely meals that weren't running away.
Several of the zombies seemed to move faster than others, breaking off from the pack. The deku's shots managed to break in the skull of one heading for him, and the zombie fell to the ground. Another zombie waltzed up to the . . . <insert some sort of noun to describe Nightmare here> and casually took bite. And didn't even break the skin. A third zombie saw Nightmare's little buddy and thought about having an appetizer, walking up and taking a bite. It was a little tough, but he managed to get a hold of something. Finally there were the blue people. A zombie approached the Twilight Princess as she hovered there and bit at her successfully. Aaaaaand last, but not least, a zombie approached the princess's adviser and got shredded by the Heartstrings, little zombie bits falling all over the place with satisfyingly wet thumps.

Dekethorn was glad he had finally found his release for the day. He really needed to unwind after a bad day like this. As the zombies closed in, he managed to one-two a zombie, breaking its skull and dropping it hard.
Dekethorn, not really one to be bothered by his enemies, noticed there were many of them and one of him. While 3 others had also shown up to take part in this killing extravaganza, he didn't really care. Even facing only a quarter of this horde would be cumbersome. But he would not be defeated, not today. He paced slowly backwards, checking how much room he had before pelting a few more nuts out. He could magically boost his speed or fire rate, but that he would save when the situation didn't look as nice.

A familiar voice! Nightmare looked over to see Midna was at the scene. His face turned into a grin, as much as a horrifying, earless face could work as a grin. "Well! Good to see you love zombie apocalypses too!" He waved at her, and then the whole thing started. Nightmare stared at the beast that attacked him, watching as it did nothing. "Yeeeaaaah, good luck buddy. My body's made of hardened carbon right now, so you're not getting through." Nightmare chuckled, which quickly stopped. One of them attacked the Drossling, which was odd, as Nightmare was holding it. You would think the zombie would be going for something other than the Drossling. Instead of going ballistic though, Nightmare just reached out to the zombie chewing on Drossling, casually gripped its face... and then crunched his hand aiming to crush the thing's skull. However, Drossling had something else to do. Letting out a slight squawk, the Drossling used its power. Immediately, lightning bolts came down from the sky, and struck literally every single zombie that was in the area. Nightmare and Dross were going to destroy every one of these. After all, the little guy could wipe out an army, even the zombies that were harassing Nightmare's favorite imp. He moved over to the Twilight Princess, the Drossling still in his arm. "Be careful alright?" He was actually being nice. He reached for Carnwennan and unsheathed it, handing it to the imp. "This should be good for your size. You might want to consider your true form though, you'll have more physical strength." Night advised. "Don't worry too much, I won't let them make dinner out of you." Nightmare wasn't going to let them have her to snack on.

"Oh relax, Akira," she said casually, "They're just a bunch of mindless zombies... what harm can they do when they can't reach yo... - YEOUCH!"
It bit her! A zombie actually bit her. Ok, Midna was always fascinated with kinky stuff, but this wasn't her forte. The princess wasn't into anything that leaves marks. How rude! Especially when it was a decomposing corpse's nasty teeth sinking into your blue skin! Gross~ She was about to get ready to throw the stupid thing to kingdom come, but Nightmare worked ahead of her.
The little drossling was a friggin' cheap weapon against the walking dead. Lightning bolts came crashing down striking down every zombie that came within immediate range of the little guy's attack. She blinked a couple of times blankly appalled that such a cute creature had such strength.
It was starting to piss her off how cheap of an advantage he had. She gave Nightmare a stare that obviously told her she wasn't pleased. He took her zombie. "That is ridiculous. Save some undead for the rest of us, you greedy bastard," she commented. "And just how many appearances do you have? You seem to have a form for every friggin' occasion."
Midna rolled her eyes as she took the dagger within her imp hands. It was big enough to act as a sword actually so might as well use it to her advantage. Her ponytail went up, and shaped itself into a hand raising up to the sky. With a small grunt, the little imp expanded a glowing energy field that surrounded her immediate area. Might as well prepare for the next wave of zombies~

Yummy. Nothing brought satisfaction than positive results. Hearing the princess's shout, the silver haired youth had to bite down on his lip from laughing at instant karma on how lax she was.
"Don't say I didn't tell you so," he chuckled softly, "Because... I told you so." Akira wasn't the type to mess with people, but the princess set that one up on herself. He was merely pointing out the obvious, and reaped the results of his precise observation. His eyes danced with amusement, but quickly returned back to the matter at hand. An eyebrow quirked up at the instant annihilation of the zombies within the area thanks to one of the party member's handy little... pet?
What exactly was that thing anyways? A metal chicken?
Nevermind! It wouldn't be the end of the wave of zombies coming in so he retracted his metal strings back into his hands. Out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed Midna using her twilit powers, preparing for the next mass of undead people. "You two seem to be pretty close," he noted; amusement rang in his tone, "Who's your new friend, your highness?"

Dekethorn still wasn't finished here. Even with the two royals and adviser, whom he had no idea who they were, there were still zombies. Even after the heavens rained lightning there was a healthy supply of zombies for Dekethorn to whack. They seemed to have weakness to getting their skulls smashed in with nuts, so more nuts it was. His supply was limitless after all.
As the zombies began to pour out towards the tiny little plant, he continued to pelt at the incoming zombies, backing up to make sure he didn't get a plank or two taken out of his person. He did like his person most of all.

Oh sure, it seemed like Midna was going to be bit, lose a bit more of her HP. However! That would not be the case this time! As the zombie lashed forward, aiming to take a bite out of her flesh, a hand was inserted into its mouth from the Emperor himself. As the creature tried to bite down on his hand, it would have no luck. the Ultimate Shield did in fact, have its uses. As long as Nightmare was willing to step in for Midna, the Princess wouldn't get hurt on his watch. He was damn determined to make sure she wasn't eaten. "Yes actually. I'm the guy that your princess is falling for." He decided to have a bit of fun with Akira. Midna embarrassed him from time to time, put him in an awkward situation. What he saw here was an opportunity to flip the whole thing on her, let her know what it was like, and perhaps watch her have to explain her way out of a fun situation. However, as for the zombie attacking gnawing on his hand, Nightmare figured that he'd kill it for trying to hurt the imp. Twisting his hand so the palm was facing up, Nightmare gripped the upper jaw and the roof of the zombie's mouth before exerting force, aiming to rip the top half of the thing's head off. However... "Midna, use that field of yours to barrage the two zombies coming for myself and Shooter. You want a body count boost, right?"

Carmine eyes flickered at the small talk going on between the two male. So they were trying to team up on her, huh? Midna couldn't help but laugh at how easily wrong those two were. While she did agree with Akira they did get along - fairly well - for the most part. Other times, it was verbal abuse going back and forth constantly. "Falling for? Did I hear you right?" she asked between fits of giggles, "I'm not the one with a hard on, am I? So unless you haven't told me you came out of the closet, or you're a necrophiliac, I wouldn't be talking~"
You gotta love word play~
Targeting the approaching zombies, her energy field collected a handful of zombies all at the same time. With careful precision, she lifted the blade up, using it as a medium for the barrage of assaults, Midna started a rhythm of slice, and dice via telekinesis. Yeah, like she was going to charge at them with her small imp form with a dagger... not happening~ Chopping up the undead before they could reach Nightmare, or the drossling; with her extension laid out in full reach, any other zombies that were caught in range came in contact with the blade's edge.
That should help her body count~

Oh, the puns; the clever but wicked puns his princess made. Leave it to her to find dirt on people and rub it in their face. Was it even possible to tease her? He contemplated that for a second or two. It was possible, but if anything, the teaser had to have a lot of guts to stand up to the princess. Akira was going to assume this man had the balls to do so. More power to him, Akira supposed. The silver haired adviser did not want to lose his head later on for making fun of Midna. "Akira Rasen," he introduced himself politely, "Twilit Adviser. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir."
With the formalities out of the way he turned his head back over to the zombies at hand. One of them took a bite out of him this time. An eyebrow quirked up before wrapping up the said zombie that bit him like a ribbon. He knew more would come at him again, and this time took more initiative to fight back.
After shredding the first zombie into little pieces, Akira readied the small grappling hooks on the Heartstrings, and threw his left hand out causing the strings to extend, and attach onto the ground in front of him. With his right hand, he strummed onto his strings, and out of thin air, a chord of keys began to play. It was the same concept of hearing guitar strings being strummed to play a chord. Manipulating the tune that came out of his strings, the sound waves traveled underneath the ground, and straight at the zombie horde. Instantaneously, an explosion from underground burst forth beneath the undead's feet as the silver haired twili watched out for flying limbs.

(OOC: Sorry about the delay; as most of you know I've been sick for the past day or so. Going to mix things up to prevent redundancy and keep Nightmare from stealing all the kills.)
Dekethorn knocked out yet another zombie with his attacks. Midna was saved by Nightmare quickly stepping in to block. The zombie found no give in the Ultimate Shield and promptly had the upper half of its head ripped off in a shower of gore. Midna decimated the two zombies who looked to make a meal out of Nightmare and his appetizer, and Akira's Sonic Burst eviscerated the zombie in an explosion of dead flesh and dried up organs. All in all a rather appealing turn, as all zombies were eradicated.
Before any more zombies could approach, however, flame roared to life from a building near the party's chosen battleground. Normally this wouldn't be much concern, except for when a window shattered on the third floor of the building as a chair flew through it. A child leaned out the window and started waving frantically. "Help us! Mommy isn't moving, I think she hit her head and everything's on fire!" he shouted, looking around for some sort of savior.
Now, considering the turn of events there wouldn't be much reward in it for the party, however the cry attracted more than just the characters' attention. The flow of zombies twisted as it seemed they much preferred a cooked meal over a fighting one. Now the party faces the choice of staying and fighting one at a time or venturing into the burning building to save the bait people.
(All zombies in the building will be at half health [meaning half a level], however once inside you must keep moving to prevent being burned. If you make a single turn without maneuvering you will take half a level of damage [and yes, it will penetrate the Ultimate Shield]. Rescuing the people [which will have a mechanic of its own once you get there] will also lead to a body count boost! It will take one maneuver to get to the building from your location and then one maneuver to navigate a floor up or down.)

Dekethorn was unfazed by the child screaming for help. In fact, he had half a mind to take potshots at the child. However, he didn't since the kid was provided a welcome distraction. Dekethorn would hate to have zombies munching on his person, as that might hurt. Also, considering Dekethorn's arsonphobia, he decided to chill, hang back, and continue to function as a zombie sniper. If the others wanted to go help, that was fine, not like Dekethorn ever cared about them.

"Crap." That was all he said as things started to heat up for the people in the houses. They were gonna have to go and get them. Thing was, he didn't really want to do this alone, otherwise he was sure they wouldn't be able to get through everything fast enough. However, they could at least save the burning kid right now. "Midna. Use your telekinesis to drag the child out of the burning window and towards your friend." He instructed before looking over to Akira. "As for you, protect the kid with your life. I'll be leaving Shooter with you. Try to keep him safe, as he'll keep the area clear." He advised the advisor, hoping that they'd listen. As the zombies approached them, Nightmare aimed a high kick at the undead reaching for the Drossling. That would keep them off his back. With that out of the way, he set the Drossling on the ground, seeming to have understood Nightmare's previous words as it waddled on over to Akira, safe from attack. With that done, Nightmare grabbed a hold of the Twilight Princess. They were going to need to work together if they were going to save everyone in that building. Mentally thanking Midna for choosing her imp form, he pulled her into his arms not unlike the way he was holding the Drossling. With his team in tow, he ran into the burning house. Nightmare let out one cry that would rise above the groaning and the screaming and pierce the heavens! ... And possibly draw attention to himself. "LEEROOOOOOY JEEEENKIIIIIINS!"

So much for working, and playing at the same time~ She was a little disappointed that Nightmare didn't come up with anything back to her. Then again the reason behind it was kinda understandable. The scream didn't fall deaf to the princess's ears as she turned over to see what was going on. Ah~ Music to her ears. Waitaminute, she had to save him? Nightmare was spoiling her fun... Still, she heeded his request and picked up the boy carefully out of the window, and started leveling him down on over to Akira.
Why did it not surprise her that she was his first choice? Midna could swear this man was becoming quite predictable. It didn't take long before a very predictable certain someone wanted to play Batman, and Robin. "... we're not the Dynamic Duo, Night," she sighed. Nonetheless, Midna was carried in Night's arms into the house. The last thing going through her mind was why the hell he cried out like that.
"Attention woman who charges money for special services," she groaned.
