- Afraid of the Dark
Dahnee is immature with the personality of a four year old as opposed to a twenty-one year old. She has a very straight forward perspective of the world; there is no grey area, only right and wrong and she is stubborn to any kind of loop-hole logic. Her young at heart persona is in everything she does; even though she is the leader of her people she is wild and free with little regard for society and sophistication. More often than not Dah spends her time running free, wild and when she can, exploring. She’s a serious dreamer with her head in the clouds, always imagining the impossible and thinking up ways to make them real. Though it’s a rarity for anyone to see it, when it is needed most, she is capable of reasonable and serious conversation; of course the only person to date that would know this is her “younger” sister.
APPEARANCE,
Dahnee is a blonde haired, blue-eyed button. While, as a Minish, she can change her size, she prefers to stay the size of a young Hylian; roughly four foot ten inches. Her skin is a soft, flushed cream with dark freckles dotting her shoulders and face. In contrast to both her twin sister and both her parents, Dahnee’s hair is a brilliant golden blonde and extends probably six or seven feet past her height, though is never tangled or in her way*. Like her personality Dah’s features are childish, her chin is pointed and her lips are small and plump. She has a small, sloped nose and little dimples when she smiles; her eyes are big and blue, framed by pale lashes. Per her Minish heritage Dahnee displays deer like qualities with small stubby antler nubs, no more than an inch in length and two tan, short haired ears that poke out where others human ears would be.
As the daughter of the Minish chief Dahnee has always been dressed in fine clothes, but no matter what her family tried she refused to wear shoes since she was a child. The only thing she really wears is a loose fitting dress, it has a gradient dye from a dark purple-grey at the top to a soft wisteria color near the bottom hem; the dress has a halter neck tie with a white braided cord keeping it fastened around her waist. Other then this rather simple and free flowing gown Dah is a simplistic girl, no jewelry or extras with the exception of when she goes on long travels. When off to other parts of the kingdom she dons a golden circlet that sits low on her brow with a finely crafted clover at its center with beautifully cut emeralds forming its four leaves and during the colder months she wears a heavy fur cloak. *See History
WEAPONS,
Technically none, though as a child (and well into her teen years) she was a fan of playing sword fights with sticks and the like. She’d be nothing against someone with any real training, but for basic self defense it’s pretty helpful.
ITEMS,
Nothing yet.
ABILITIES,
-Parasite Attack: Dahnee’s hair is her greatest ally, with quick jabs and punches it doesn’t deal heavy damage (half to full low damage in LS style), but it is relentless. Every now again her hair is capable of landing a slightly heavier blow (moderate damage in LS style).
Moderate damage has a 1 post cooldown -Silk Shield: Though her hair can block and parry attacks just as any other weapon could do it has a last resort defense. The Silk Shield is a cocoon of hair that blocks most heavy attacks, but it can only last for so long.
Reduces all damage deal to her by 1 condition, 2 post duration and 3 post cooldown (cooldown begins when silk shield ends).
RACIAL ABILITIES,
-Shape shifting: Like all Minish Dahnee can go from her more human form to a small and agile fawn. Her animal form is petite with soft, short brown hide, though unlike her sister it is highlighted with golden yellow hair and soft white spots down her back. In this form she is faster, but unfortunately completely unprotected.
She can remain a fawn for up to 5 posts with a 4 post cooldown. -Size: Just like other Minish Dah can change her physical size to being no more than an inch and a half in height to the size of a short Hylian adult.
She can only change her size twice in a thread with a 4 post cooldown between each change
HISTORY,
Born the elder twin to Minish Chief Oren and his wife, Dahnee was identical to her “little” sister. As an infant she was loud and sweet, smiling and giggling at everything and anything, even as a baby she rarely cried. These traits carried on past her toddler years and into her childhood. With loving and devoted parents her natural disposition blossomed, of course with age came an overwhelming sense of superiority to her sister. In all the games they played or projects they did Dah took charge, leading the way and ordering her sister to do whatever needed to be done or whatever she wanted to be done. Her favorite thing to do was gather the other children on the village and play large games of hide and seek; she loved being in charge, it was as if she’d been born to be chief.
When she was no more than five Dahnee went through an ordeal that changed her life in a variety of ways; until this time she had no fears, she loved everything in the forest from the smallest bug to the tallest tree. On this day the forest was brimming with green, it was a brilliant sunny spring day in the Faron Woods, Dahnee’s parents had always told her to keep inside the village, but her wild nature would never let that happen. She’d never had issues with the forest, it had always been safe and loving, but as she sat in a patch of ferns, chewing on dandelions, she was approached by a large golden spider. Curious as always Dahnee leaned forward with a big smile, she’d never seen a spider like this, its legs were small and chubby and its body was a thin disc with strange white markings all across it. It seemed to look at her for minutes on end and just when she was ready to sit back it leaped forward and clung to the crown of her head. At first she only screamed for surprise, but at the spiders feet dug into her skull she screamed in pain, little trickles of bright red blood trickling down her face and neck. Scared and hurt Dahnee ran crying back towards the village, she was half way through her mother’s award winning garden when her little sister spotted her. From there she was brought to her mother and father, they were unsure of what to do, eventually her father tried to pull the creature of, but its body simply disintegrated, spools of golden silk fell, covering her head like hair. Dahnee screamed as the little strands dug deeper into her skull.
The pain was overwhelming and Dah cried for nearly a week straight, stopping only when she would finally pass out from exhaustion only to wake up from the pain and start all over again. She couldn’t eat and was barely able to stop sobbing long enough for a few sips of water at her sisters insistence; as the week progressed she was seen by multiple healers, but no one knew what to do. After awhile the pain subsided, but her once chestnut hair was gone, replaced by soft, silky, golden locks that fell past her shoulders… and kept growing. In a week’s time the hair grew another foot and then another; once it reached her ankles her mother attempted to cut it, but nothing she did seemed to work, while soft to the touch Dahnee’s new hair was stronger than steel.
Dahnee was shaken from the incident, it took her over a month to recover and revert to a relative state of normality, her energy and spirit gradually returned, but even to this day she is horrified of spiders. Once she was back on her feet she was back to being the boss, leading the parade and running the show; she was free and wild again, but it didn’t matter what she did or where she went the spindly strands of hair never tangled.
Weeks turned into years and Dahnee grew older, her sister in tow. Her hair grew at a rapid rate for a good time, but one day it just stopped; it was still unbelievably long and at times she swore it moved on its own. As she entered her mid teen years her parents tried to put her wild side to rest and prepare her to take her father’s role as chief, but no matter what lessons they forced her to take or restrictions they tried to put on her she couldn’t be contained. She always found the time to run free, gallivanting off into the forest. Just as when she was tutored as a child Dah seemed to store everything in a little box in the back of her head, you’d never guess that she’d absorbed anything since she was always so distracted, but when asked she could pull the answers out at the drop of a hat. Finally the day came that her father, now an old man, passed his reign to her, though it wasn’t without hesitation. Dah took up the role of Chief, but she did it with a carefree and almost dismissive manner, she didn’t honestly think that the title would lend to any real change in her life and in a way she was right. A few weekly meetings and populace complaints was about the only thing new to her and they didn’t do much to hold her attention; her parents tried to convince her to take this position more seriously, but Dahnee could see no reason to. The forest had always protected her people and as long as they were there, safe and sound, she saw no reason to change and she didn’t. The days came and went and she was the same old free spirited girl that she’d been since she’d popped into the world, it seemed to everyone else that nothing would ever change that.
