Twack!
And the last bandit falls to the ground along with two others. The bandits groans as as their pain and aches set in. Thee only still conscious one stares up at the young tanned male who just whooped him and his companions with relative ease. This youth is Rayleigh a youth who was traveling past the Edin bridge when some bandits decided to try and rob him; this the result. He cracks his neck and looks back at the crooks with a triumphant smirk on his face. "And let that be lesson to you guys. Don't try to rob from innocent travelers, especially ones that can fight better than you." The third crook finally falls unconscious. Rayleigh wonders what he should do next? He knew he should report them to the proper authorities but Hyrule Castle town was in the another direction and too far out of the way. " I guess I can leave them here, hope nothing gets them while they're asleep." he says to himself before dashing off and leaving a small dust cloud in his wake..
Ray makes his way across the bridge keeping a brisk run. No doubt in anybody's mind that Ray is a pretty quick sprinter, he is also capable long-distance running which he prefers when traveling. This is the only way Ray knew how to travel and that is dashing from one place to the next. His path starts get rocky but it doesn't slow him down a bit, in fact it seems he got quicker. It seems that way because Rayleigh is actually more better at traveling rocky areas than he is at flatland. As he continues he looks up at the late afternoon sun which is now starting its descent from the sky. It makes Rayleigh wonder just how time did he waste with those bandits.
Not much he can do about it now so instead he focuses on a place to rest for the night. He heard rumors about a small hidden village along this road. Deciding hiding out there would be a lot smarter than traveling through the night he jets off in looking for the village. He hopes to find it before sundown.

Gareth watched as a young man further down the road from him was attacked by bandits. He did not rush to help, what was the point? By the time he got there the kid would be...kicking the stuffing out of them? He raised an eyebrow in surprise as the kid managed to take out all three of them with relative ease.
As Ray made his way away from the bandits, Gareth quickly liberated them of their purses and looked down at the three of them with a bit of a smirk. "Sorriest excuses for bandits I have ever seen." He let out a little chuckle and looked to see how far along the kid was.
"Oh, great." He let out a short groan before starting off after him. It wasn't that he had any particular interest in getting to know him. That just wasn't Gareth's thing, unless he was trying to get something from someone. No, to tell the truth he was just curious, interested to know if he would leave any more loot to be found along the way.
As he followed he began to form a mental image of Ray in his head. He knew it would be inaccurate, as they usually tended to be, but he could not help but wonder what sort of guy it was that would beat up bandits and not take anything from them. It did not occur to Gareth to think that it might be what the average person might be inclined to do. No, in his mind the world was just as greedy as he, perhaps even more so, and that all he was doing was trying to claim his own piece of the pie before anybody else got to it.
At about the time that Ray looked up to the sun and began to ponder where he would stay for the night, Gareth lost himself completely in thought for just a second. That second of taking focus away from his feet was all it took for him to trip over one of the rocks and come crashing downward with a rather undignified yelp.

Rayleigh get moves about 15 feet before hitting the brakes. A loud yelp brakes him from his run and turns around to look for the source. The following 'thud' makes this a very easy task. A look of befuddlement sits on the face of the dark haired youth. He spots a young white-haired youth who looks somewhat older than the young Rayleigh. Was he behind him this whole time? If he was then its a good thing he already took out those bandits. Ray would have hated for this guy to get robbed too.
Ray darts to the guy and holds his hand out. "Care for some help, friend?"

Gareth threw his hands out to catch his fall but it didn't do much to cushion him against the rocky ground. As he lay there absorbing the impact, he closed his eyes. Please don't have heard that. But almost as soon as he got the thought out he heard the young man coming back. Damnit
He tried his best to not look embarrassed as he sat up and dusted himself off. He had some minor scrapes but there was nothing that would do any lasting damage so far as he could tell. "Hm?" His eyes trailed upward toward Rayleigh as he was offered a hand. "Oh, no I'm okay. Thanks anyway."
Gareth climbed to his feet and took a step forward before feeling a pain shoot up his leg. The unexpectedness of the jolt caused his leg to buckle under him and he found himself latching onto Rayleigh to keep himself standing. "Must've landed wrong or something. I'll be fine." Gareth winced and righted himself though he kept almost all of his weight on his good leg for the time being.

Ray's head tilts to the side in confusion when the man denies his offer to help. It look like a pretty bad fall so why not get some help; why refuse? Being a bit of a rock climber himself, Rayleigh knew the dangers of falling and not knowing how to fall correctly to reduce impact. Rayleigh resists the urge to help him anyway trying to respect the man's pride. Though watching man immediately tense up in pain from his first step made the task even harder.
"You sure you don't need any help, friend? You might have a sprain. With the sun getting ready to set, you may look easy pickings for any monsters in the area." Rayleigh asks again. Rayleigh couldn't help but keep offering. He hopes to get a better response. Rayleigh refuse to leave a injured man to fend for himself out here. Especially with the rumors of an increase in monster attacks all around Hyrule.

Gareth grimaced and looked over to the man. Why did he care if the monster got him? And why didn't he take the goods left behind by the unconscious bandits either? He could not understand what this man could possibly be getting out of any of it. Perhaps he was expecting a reward once they made it to town?
Eventually, after taking several steps and nearly falling to one knee, he cursed under his breath. "Fine, you can give me a hand." He grumbled before righting himself from the crouch he'd caught himself in. Gareth hated the thought of relying on someone to keep him safe, not because he wanted to be a burden but because he did not feel that he could trust the other to do it if the going got tough. That was just how life was; nobody was to be trusted.

Rayleigh puts on a nervous grin when he gets a look from his fellow traveler. Rayleigh didn't understand why wouldn't the guy just take his help already. Even the strongest of warriors will receive help when injured enough. This way they could live to fight another day. It didn't matter how much pride they had. Ray could only scratch the back of his head in befuddlement as watch the man attempt to keep walking.
Its not until he nearly falls over that he takes Rayleigh's help. Ray could hear the reluctance in his voice. Ray didn't care much for it, he's just happy the man finally swallowed his pride. "Don't worry friend, I got you." he says as he walks to his side. He helps the man up and puts his arm around him. This way Ray can act as a crutch to help him walk. Once he sure he has a good grip, Ray moves forward with him and continue along the path. "By the way, My name's Rayleigh but my friends call me, Ray. "

It would likely be difficult for someone like this man to understand Gareth's reasons for not wanting to be helped. Most people didn't, they assumed pride or an unwillingness to admit that he had a problem, but the truth is Gareth just didn't know how. The idea of someone wanting to help was a foreign concept to him at best and the fact that he had to trust this man that he had just met was somewhat unsettling to him.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Gareth." No reason to give him a false name, not when he wasn't even wearing a false face. Or well, a face that was differing from that which he normally wore. Nobody ever saw his real face; hell, he wasn't even sure that he had seen it. "Just drop me at the nearest town if it isn't too far."

Ray smiles when he hears the man's name is Gareth. Rayleigh carefully travels the gravel road making sure to maintain his and Gareth's balance. It isn't too hard for him, all his time running around Death Mountain made it really easy. Rayleigh couldn't help but chuckle Gareth's request. "I'm sorry to tell ya, but there isn't any nearby towns. We wouldn't even make it back to my old Village Kakariko until the middle of the night." Rayleigh explains. He actually didn't want to try trekking back across the open plains after nightfall.
Rayleigh takes a look around before remembering something. "Though I remember hearing about an old town being located around here. If we could find it we should be fine for the evening."

Gareth cursed lightly under his breath at the mention of there being no towns. Not only had he made himself a sitting duck, this guy was probably going to get dragged down with him. It wasn't that he cared what Rayleigh did; if the guy stuck around for Gareth that was his own fault. He looked up toward the sky and started looking around for somewhere that they would be able to use as cover for the night.
He raised an eyebrow at the mention of a town. "Never heard of one being close by, but I don't pass through here much. Any idea whereabouts we should be looking?" At the mentioning of the town, Gareth began to keep his eyes open for any signs of life. The sooner that they found there way to that town, the sooner he could stop being a burden that the other forced upon himself.
Gareth couldn't understand why he had trouble getting over that. He used people all the time to get them to help him. But this one had done it all on his own, hadn't he? Was he being played the same way that he played others? He would have to be careful to not let himself fall into Ray, no, Rayleigh's, trap.

Rayleigh tries to think back to the rumor he heard about the hidden town. Two gorons were talking about it back in his hometown. An old town hidden in the Rockies. Said it was found while another goron was clearing a tunnel. Which means all Rayleigh has to do is find the tunnel that looks like it been cleared by goron recently.
"I heard bout it a couple weeks ago. A large goron found it while doing some tunneling around. So My bet is we should be looking for a large tunnel." Rayleigh replies back with a friendly smile. His eyes start searching for any unnatural rock formations. As he looks he notices that the sun is starting to set as the calm blue starts to give way to a fiery orange aura. Not long until nightfall but that doesn't worry Ray one bit as the smile stays on his face.
"Since it needed to be found all over again, I'm not banking that there's people there but it should beat sitting by ourselves waiting for the wolfos to come get us. What do you think?" he asks to keep conversation going while keeping an eye out.

"Big tunnel, got it." Gareth turned his head this way and that, trying to get a good look around before finally closing his eyes and trying to focus. He'd never tried to see a vision of himself or use a vision to guide himself along a path but it was worth a shot. To this point Gareth had normally used them to see where a person would be during a certain time frame or when a person would return to a location that he already knew. The concept of using it to find a place where a person would be at an unknown point in time was new for him.
Gareth frowned and kept his eyes closed, trying to concentrate and search but so far it wasn't working. "I guess we should keep searching then." He reached up and rubbed at his forehead. Gareth had stopped before he could give himself a headache but the rubbing was a habit by this point.
"I tried to see if we found it, but I guess my visions don't quite work that way."

Ray is happy that Gareth catches on so easy. Then Gareth goes into some weird trance that Rayleigh can't make heads or tails of. Watching his eyes closed as they walk concerned Ray at best. How he was to spot the tunnel if his eyes were closed. Luckily Ray keeps an eye out for it. Since it was a goron that found the tunnels, Ryan looks to the ground to see if there's any tracks or hints of the goron's presence. Rayleigh knew it was still a bit of a stretch to possibly find them but every little bit helps.
he watches Gareth recompose himself saying he didn't get any visions of the tunnel. So that's what he was doing. Seems like a lot of people Rayleigh seems to run into have all kinds of abilities he's never seen firsthand or even heard about. " Don't worry, I got this feeling that's its close by. " he says somehow sounding quite confident.

"Glad to hear it." Was all that Gareth said on the matter of the tunnels being close. Instead he focused much of his attention on the surrounding area. He had no idea what it was he was looking for aside from a tunnel of some sort.
As he shifted his weight against Rayleigh he heard the jingle of purses he had taken from the defeated bandits and removed one of them from his belt. "Hey, Rayleigh. Got this from one of those guys that tried to beat you up earlier. Figure you should have one." Personally he considered it a finders fee rather than a kindness to Rayleigh to give him one. After all, he had been the one to do the work; Gareth had only taken the spoils.

~ ~ Ah ah ahalone in my worldThe sound of something : someone. People? And jingling.
That was odd.
The green haired girl rose from her curled up position, lifting her head over the grass to look around. Something was coming, disturbing this sense of self she had obtained here. Where was here anyways? The girl was lost : like always. These plains were too wide : no trees to talk to. If there had been trees, she would feel safer, due to always living in trees, like a monkey : even with that moving presence near by. She was sure, was Ziva, that something was coming, as her eyes landed on shapes forming in the distance. She waited a few moments, as they would become more then a mere shape, becoming something different. There were two figures, leaning on each other, at least from what she could tell. The smell on the wind was human, as the huntress smirked : would she make mince meat out of them? The girl went onto her stomach and slid in the grass, at least until she could plainly feel them. Sitting up now, that green gaze narrowed, as she got to her feet. She didn't speak to them, but instead stood in their way, that gaze almost dark. Her presence didn't feel like a threat : at least not yet.
There was a quiet aggressiveness and disgust in her eyes, almost a danger sign of it's own, as she kept her magic reigned, at least for now. But it was bubbling under the surface of her skin, as the Kokiri girl would then smile, those fangs showing now. The two were odd to say the least : but Ziva was a curious girl, although she'd never admit it. And all there was left now, the hybrid mused, was to wait for their reaction to her near sudden appearance from the grass, that dress floating in the light wind of course.

[And since it has been a month since Rayleigh has been on I'm just going to go ahead and post. I've never had to do this before but I guess just say that he went to look and gave Gareth a chance to rest his leg?]
Gareth jumped at the sudden sight of the girl. He'd looked one way and the field had been all but empty and now here stood a girl. It wasn't hard to imagine that she must have been laying in the grass but the sudden sight of her had caused him quite a start. Now that he was over it, however, it was time to start thinking of how she could be useful to him in his current condition.
"Hey, are you from around here? This other guy said there might be a town nearby." Gareth was starting to become concerned that should there be some sort of monster attack that he might not be able to get out. He could fight back some although not to his full potential.
Gareth staggered to his feet and started limping toward her. Although he tried to keep from showing it, it was clear that his ankle was causing him a good bit of trouble.
