Erebos fashioned his claymore tightly to his hip, standing fully erect with an awkwardly perfect posture in the large, illuminating castle. The Twilight Realm; his home and world since the day he had been conceived, which for those who were unaware, was rather quite a long time ago. He was an older Twili, possibly one of the oldest in the Twilight Messengers. He was not senile however, or old in the sense of Humans and Hylians. He simply had years of experience under his, and years of hardships along with them. He watched friends pass on through battle several times over, and still he held firm in the grace of life.
He kept the same stature when in her presence as well; he did not fear Princess Midna. No, not in the least bit. He simply held a deep respect for the Twili, one that could not be measured in words. His respect for her was equal to his respect for the famous Assassin; at one point in his life, he was considered as a candidate for a position as a Guard. That however, was long, long ago.
"...."
He stood staring, silently gazing at the wayward path to the Light Realm. Despite his fellow comrades willingly traveling into the realm, he himself had a great disliking for the idea. He had not yet traveled through onto the Nether, as he called it. Wariness was in his nature, and doubts still superseded his ambitions. It was not fear, no. He feared nothing. It was the disliking of mingling with other creatures in another realm, intertwining the fates of two entirely separate worlds.
So now, he stood contemplating his resolve. Travel into the realm and preform his duties, or retire and leave the fate of two races in the hands of mere children. He knew deep down that he would choose to go through the realm, he simply needed to solve the issues that purged his mind. There were so many risks, and it seemed so pointless. Why mingle with such an inferior species?

Small but millions of particles of twilit matter began flowing in a sort of current form within the threshold that linked the Twilight Realm to the Light Realm. The cluster of particles soon formed into a large mass before molding, and forming a new shape. A tall pillar of mass soon enough appeared, and as the seconds passed by, it started appear more humanoid.
Next thing one would notice is curves starting to form in all the right places~ A rather feminine, slender, form appeared, then the rest of the details began to show. Her robes flowing carefully across her lithe frame until eventually the shadows that engulfed her frame faded, and the very same blue skinned sovereign appeared before back within her home. The Twilight realm, specifically, back within the Twilight Palace.
She began to stretch, having missed the tranquil serenity, and glorious shades her native world brought her. The blotches of purple that spotted the skies over the pale yellow skies that give their world the very meaning of being in the twilight. A beautiful realm for her precious Twili. "Hm?" Carmine eyes flickered over to the corner of her eyes staring at a twili that stayed behind. A small crooked smile formed upon her lips actually delighted that there was someone who didn't jump on the bandwagon, and minded her home. Though what was he doing staring at the portal?
"Pitter patter, pitter patter," she spoke in a sort of sing-song rhythm. It was a subtle teasing on Midna's part, pitter patter meaning to stall or postpone; to be filled with doubt that it stops one from making a call, something she got a vibe this twili quite a bit of. A small hum purred within her throat as she turned her frame to facing Erebos face to face. "You are ailed with doubts, but as of what, I know not. Care to fill in the blanks?"

[ooc: This is my first thread with Erebos, and I messed up some info in the first post. Erebos I guess is a Guard? It says it in my profile and was accepted but was never modified in the Guild thing, so I'm not sure]
The particles immediately caught his attention, and his eyes perked up, narrowing on their destination. As the figure of a Twili slowly came into view, Erebos watched intently awaiting the identity of the figure to be revealed. He was eager to see whom was returning from the light realm, the deathtrap that could kill their kind within only moments.
When the figure was clearly Princess Midna, he let out a small sigh of relief. Who was he actually expecting though? Even Erebos wasn't sure of this. Smiting himself silently, he lowered his eyes when she looked at him and spoke, pitter patter rummaging through his head.
Looking back up to her, he awaited for her to finish speaking. "Princess." He nodded once more, paying his due respects to the esteemed ruler of their kingdom. How was he to respectfully review his doubts with the ruler of their kingdom, who so willingly jumped into action with vasts quantities of other Messengers. "Doubts of the Light Realm; is our dabbling with another realm safe? Is it safeguarded? What are our threats....what do we need to look out for? All these questions plague my vision of the correct path, and yet these are things I see the younger Twili disregarding and taking off headstrong into the new world. It troubles me, leaves me uneasy." He stopped, glancing at his claymore which lay on his hip. Weaponry was not the most common thing among Twili, as they typically used other means of fighting.
"I apologize to trouble you with these miniscule worries, my Highness. It is unnecessary." He did not bow again, he had already paid his due respects. Staring at her with apologetic intentions, they would be nearly impossible to sketch out on his face. His eyes were a hallow blackness etched in shadows.

Sometimes it was never easy to read a person, and Erebos fit that statement to a tee. Midna was enlightened of her messenger’s doubts, and where it was directed towards. A small smile formed, and faded across her dark lips as her carmine eyes glided over to the portal that served as the link between this world and the next. Interlopers arriving in the midst of conflict already waged within a world torn asunder by catastrophic events, and one by one, nations were falling into fear, radical formations, and violence erupted amongst the other races. What can she say to soothe the doubts that plagued her older twili?
“There is no need to apologize for such delicate observations, Erebos. You know as well as I do, I cannot guarantee the safety of our people out there,” she said calmly, “There are many risks that could lead my people to their deaths, if not from the light of the sun that shines from the sun, and moon, but also from the aborigines of Hyrule.” It does worry her so to have her precious twili out there wandering on their own accord headstrong with their convictions that they remove themselves of the worries that a wise man stayed behind of. Erebos was no fool when it came to such matters, and that garnered her utmost respect for the guard.
“Their choice was of their own free will, mind you,” she explained, “Some go perhaps to find purpose, or meaning in their lives. Others perhaps just want the freedom; it ranges from anything, but… I feared that if I shut out our world away from the other side of the same coin…” She paused in her sentence turning her attention back over to the guard.
“I think the consequences would be far harsher than the ones we’re facing in the light realm as we speak.”
ooc. I suppose so~ The guilds haven't been updated in a while. Unless you want to bug the staff about it, I wouldn't really worry about it. xD

You speak true, Princess. I did not mean to doubt your choices." He offered the most respect he could possibly muster to his Highness, and he took her words to heart. The fact that she took the time to reassure his fears was enough to push him further to the Light Realm, however he still had one major fear. Dropping his shoulders slightly, his deep, hollow black eyes shifted over to the pathway to the Light Realm.
Her words rang true, but the facts that the Twili themselves rushed on to quickly without examining their situations only expressed how young they really were. It was...reckless, to say the least. "And what if they attack you, my princess..." He questioned. "What if they wage war against us? Or attack our kind?"
War was his greatest worries.

Reckless... Indeed, the young Twili of their society found a spark that the adults seem to have put on their shelves. Midna had to admit to herself that it was an admirable thing to express their earnesty, but such risks such as taking this leap could cost many hazzardous along the way. She honestly didn't expect to be helping out one of her messengers while returning home, but one could only suppose if it felt right at the moment, then do so~ She didn't show it often, but when that streak of kindness comes out, it is genuine. She amused herself thinking she did herself a good deed for the day. "Wise men wonder while strong men die," she smiled. "There is no shame in asking questions... you're just the only one who'll confront them openly~"
Now she didn't intend on it to be a bad thing. People always have questions that they're ashamed of asking for the sake of others making fun of them. Midna was no exception of this one herself, but it's normal. However his next question brought a bit of discomfort, and it tasted bitter within her mouth. What if they - those who lived in the Light realm - waged war against them? Her carmine eyes narrowed at the thought as she turned her attention back over to the world coated in the warmth of the sun. To be more precise, rays of death for her, and her kind. "Let us hope it can be circumvented," she answered darkly, "but should it arise, let them dance like fools when they take up arms. It would be upon their lands that destruction falls on."
Whatever justifies the means. Midna could care less about the squabbles the other nations had their affairs with. Not unless it was one that tried to take her tribe down. It wasn't that they didn't have problems, but rather how to go about solving that said problems...
ooc. Holy crap, I'm late. Sorry!! ;w;

[ooc: I am posting late to, sorry.]
Erebos nodded, taking comfort in her words. Part of him had been truly afraid that she would take the route of a pacifist, although why this fear haunted him he knew not. Sharpening his eyes, he stared off into the portal that led into the swimming world of sunlight. Even at night, the moon reflected the suns light; the rays of hope were almost always never ending.
"If that day comes, Princess, it is the Twili such as us who will bear the responsibilities of our youth. Pray fortune comes our way, and if not, I will slay the very God of Destiny that demised our people twice over." His words no doubt carried a strong passion of loyalty, respect, and anger.

Midna was quite surprise the rise in emotions that have burnt within the hearts of her people as of lately. There was a desire welt up deep within the very crevices of the twili, seeking out answers to satisfy the void, whilst living in within the tranquil realm of Twilight for as long as time depicted. It brought gladness to the Twilight Princess to know that even the wisest of her tribe such as Erebos took things into perspective to analyze what may come in the future.
"There is a universal balance or so to speak within both realms," she explained, "and it lies on the brink of annihilation should things prolong the way they are now. I fear that it'll only grow worse before it gets better. Be ready for anything~" It wasn't exactly the most optimistic thing to tell her guard, but she wanted him to prepare for the worse should things look turn from ostentatious to utterly grim. She trusted that he would make good decisions in the future, and kept good faith in him.
"I do hope I could be of some assistance to you," she smiled. It pleased her so to be able to interact with her subjects, and help ease them from whatever worries them so. After all, it was always darkest before the dawn~ Or so to speak.
