[Ooc: Daemien and Alistair only. I will be playing the monster in this- it is casual. I am seeing about gifting one of you with the monsters magic blade if the thread is good and long, and active, and if the staff agrees. It won't be very powerful or act as an upgradeable slot unless you buy it as a slot later]
The beast grunted softly, his lavender eyes shining out through the two small peep wholes in his helmet. Most of his body was revealed, his torso holding a large scar across his rib cage and trailing onto the breast. A large claymore was sheathed over his back, a strange, red blade with demonic inscriptions etched onto the blade. The sword itself was red, and glowed slightly whenever monsters where near. This was the reason it consistently glowed, as it was always in his presence. His other arm held a strong gauntlet, and overall the beast stood about seven feet tall.
For days now he had kept away weary travelers, killing anyone who came close to the destroyed temple. By call of the Monster Hunter's Guild, a reward had been offered to anyone who could defeat the monster. Standing before the temple, he sniffed slightly, in taking the scent of humans. They were near, and his blade needed blood...he needed the blood. Three carcasses lay behind him, two men and one woman, half-eaten. He feasted upon the flesh of Humans, and humans only. Hylians and all others were disposed of.
Gripping his blade, the sheath sat attached to his hip, shaped perfectly for the blade. Where he got it was unknown but the sheath itself had the inscription of Abyssion, clearly stating the swords name. The beast could not use an intelligent tongue, but that did not make him stupid. Surrounding his lair he had made were a series of booby traps that any newcomers would have to surpass to reach to him. Three nets hidden over wholes with leaves scattered, and a log trailed with spikes hidden in the tree's, attached to a trip wire directly before entering the clearing before the temple.

Alistair remained crouched on the very outskirts of the area, not yet within the vicinity of the traps (that he was currently unaware of). He sat on one knee while hiding himself behind the large trunk of a tree. As he tried to survey the area from his position, he took his guild tracker out from a pouch on his belt.
Good. This should mean my partner is close by... He thought as he examined the bright glow of the tracker. After confirming the location of the guild-mate he would be questing with, he quickly tucked the guild tracker back in its designated pouch to hide the glow. He made sure to carry this quest out with a serious demeanor, especially after he heard that the monster in question had already killed innocents.
I don't think this should be all that dangerous. He tried to reassure himself. Surely if this monster was that powerful the guild wouldn't leave this matter in the hands of just two people... right? He started growing more anxious by the minute, and he hoped that his guild-mate arrived soon so they could carry out their quest.

Daemien leapt down from a trunk of the tree Alistair was hiding behind, and landed softly on his feet. "So you're my partner? I am Daemien Strider, the Black Rogue; it's a pleasure to meet you." Daemien said as he extended his hand to the blonde swordsman. "By the way, this being has likely set up traps; so tread very carefully." He added as a warning to his partner, and would start their journey soon.

From there current positions, the two boys had three major traps to worry about. Two would be impossible to see without some sort of magical assistance, so the only way to make it past the trap would be based on pure perception. It was simply a large, 10 foot whole about 3 feet in length and width. These two drop offs were efficiently placed at the barrier of the woods right before reaching the large opening before the grove. The traps were not an immediate danger to the two, but the third one was. A trip wire was set a few feet before them, which would unleash a log from their right side that would swing down at them.
The beast itself grunted once more, louder this time, at the soft sound of voices trailing through his woods. Glancing around as he may, the beast could not find any sign of human activity. They were to far back in the wood, hidden by brush. If they could see him, it wouldn't be the clearest view, that was for sure.

"Alistair." A simple introduction for now. He brought himself to his feet and shook Daemien's hand. Other than the grunt he heard in the distance, the area seemed rather quiet. The monster must have scared off any and all wildlife in the area. After some silent contemplation, Alistair finally spoke up again. "There are a few ways we can go through with this. Any suggestions?" He asked, looking at Daemien. "I think a surprise attack would probably get this done the fastest, but depending on the beasts senses of smell and hearing, that might not be an option."

"Yes, a sneak attack would prove lucrative on this mission. Unfortunately, the tree branches aren't close enough to leap to-and-fro. So..." Daemien said before he drew out his Gale Blades, and continued his speech; "...the wind from my Gale Blades will need to be used to lead us on the right path." Daemien said as he started to walk forward, using his Gale Blades to blow away leaves or picked grass. While doing this, he noticed a thin wire, and at at arms-length, he cut the wire with nearly the tip of his sword and quickly withdrew his hand. Luckily for him, the log slammed down right in-front of the Black Rogue. "Crafty." Daemien commented with sweat on his brow.
OOC: By the sound of your post, Fane, it sounded like the trip wire came before the pits.

[ooc: You are correct, but read below!]
Damiens Gale winds weren't only enough to reveal and avoid the trip wire, but also enough for a little extra. The wind cascaded slightly over the nearly places pits, thinning the leaves and revealing the drop off underneath. This was definitely a plus, however the choice came at a cost. As the winds blew, the monster felt the stir of magical energy, and obviously noticed his pits revealed.
On top of this, he heard the loud crash as the log slammed down, bringing a loud crescendo to resonate the wooded area. Grunting once more, he stepped back and moved to the side, walking behind a small crowded area of bush where he could make out the small opening an any figures that entered it.

Alistair winced as the log caused an eruption of sound. "Well... that fixes one problem I suppose." He looked around slowly, taking note of the other traps that had been revealed. But how many other problems did it stir up? He wondered.
"I suppose we could just walk straight in now." Alistair suggested. "...But what do you think?" He knew a sneak attack was out of the question, but if there were any alternatives, he would love to hear them. Then again... there's always a decoy strategy...

"It would be best to keep our guard up because I expect that it will be expecting us. I'll act as the decoy while you try to attack it from behind." Daemien stated calmly as he advanced forward towards where the monster was, keeping his swords up and ready to block any incoming attacks. He was expecting it to jump out from the left or the right, but that was merely an assumption on his part.

The Monster stared out from his peeping bush and observed Damian as he slowly edged forth into the opening. Sniffing, he caught the scent of another human, but it mattered not. Leaping out, he grappled the claymore over his back after silently sheathing his red blade of magic, and came slashing down at the boys shoulder. The beast grunted out loudly, aiming to decapitate the young Hunter.

"I'll act as the decoy while you try to attack it from behind."
Alistair replayed the statement in his head as he crept through the bushes. You would think that someone with Rogue in their title would want to do the whole sneak-attack thing. He thought for a moment. After he reached his chosen ambush point, he stayed low to the ground and peered out of the foliage. Soon enough, he saw Daemien walk out into the open, and shortly after that the monster appeared.
Alistair crouched down further, then took off in a full sprint while unsheathing his sword. He tried to stay as quiet as possible, even though his instincts told him to let out a small shout to attract attention. Normally he would try to slash across the monsters back, but weren't sneak attacks supposed to be different? Instead, he twisted his sword around in his hands, aiming to pierce upwards into the beast's back.

Damien quickly dove out of the path of the Monster's sword, but was just barely able to dodge the attack. He quickly got back up on his feet, and tried to use his swords to blow leaves in his face. Damien knew that he wouldn't be able to attack the beast head-on, but distracting the beast would give Alistair his chance to attack the enemy from behind. However, he did not want to take too many chances with this one around.

The claymore slammed into the ground, becoming instantly stuck by the force of his own swing. Immediately drawing his axe, he heard the sound of the footsteps behind him; he was unable to completely react however, as the little twarp was throwing leaves in his face.
Shifting to his side, he swung his axe straight for Alistairs head and let out a mighty grunt as the heat of the blade seeped into his body. His swing was sadly very expected and not very accurate.
"YAAAAAAARH"
Screaming as loudly as possible, the monster pulled back and away from the boys, lifting his axe and throwing it at Damien and drew his red blade, Abyssion.

Up until the point of impact, Alistair was skeptical. He thought that a beast like that could have easily taken him out, even if he was trying to be stealthy. But then Daemien distracted him. Just when he thought it was over, the monster swung his axe at him. His heart raced, even though the strike wasn't accurate.
As Alistair's hit landed, and the beast pulled away, he decided that stealth was no longer an option. "Well, that worked... kind of." He had felt the need for some witty banter for a while now, but the stealth attack wouldn't have allowed it. He couldn't really do anything as the axe flew towards Daemien, but based on what he's seen so far, he should be able to handle himself. His main focus was on the new blade his opponent had unsheathed. There was something... different about it. It both frightened and intrigued Alistair. He held his own blade in a battle-ready stance, but stayed back. He couldn't risk rushing in when he knew nothing about that strange red sword, what if it had magical powers or something?! Instead, he slowly circled the battlefield, hoping for the best.

[ooc: Daemien has been skipped 1 time.]
The axe was thrown poorly and with bad accuracy, thus rendering the axe to hit Damien on the blunt side. He lifted Abyssion and stomped his foot into the ground, a small trail of blood staining the blades of emerald grass with crimson. The falling leaves were caught by a small breeze of wind, flailing to the side and encircling the two warriors as they stood in an absolute determination.
Step by step, he inched closer to Alistair. Pointing Abyssion at him in a wide stance, he lunged forth with a thrust, aiming for the boys heart. It was a light lunge, meant to make only a flesh wound that would leave a second jab little resistence from flesh. As he made the thrust, he pulled his other fist back, ready to throw it forth and punch the boy directly in his face.

Alistair watched intently as the beast inched closer until he finally made a move. His eyes stayed focused on his enemy as he lunged, just until Alistair lunged himself. Instead of attempting to clash, however, he rolled around the monster at the last minute, positioning himself behind it. I'm not sure if I can win one on one with this thing, but I'm damn positive it'll go down eventually if I keep stabbing at it's back. He quickly gripped his sword and slashed at the beast's back. Although he was concerned for Daemien, his main focus was on his attacker.

[ooc: The next turn, Daemien may be cut from the quest]
The monster had little to no time to react to the boys swift movement. As he dodged, his fist went out to hit him, but the movement was far to fast. As the blade left a seering hot cut deep within his back, he fell forth into a stumble, and wipped back around to face the boy.
Raising Abyssion, he took a defensive stance, realizing he had greatly underestimated his enemy. Watching the boy carefully, he released a surge of energy through his body, thickening his skin and casting a protective magic over his body.

"That can not be healthy." Alistair said, examining his foe. He lifted his sword and spread his feet apart. What the hell is Daemien doing? I would at least like a little help. Focusing on the beast, he planted one foot forward. "Well big guy, I guess it's my turn, eh?" He kept his voice calm, but there was nothing calming about charging at an armed monster. He was scared, but he was already in too deep- there was no way he could just leave, not now. Not after what this thing has done. He slowly moved forward before breaking into a full charge, but kept his sword down. He intended to use his sword only to block a counter-attack while he shouldered the monster.

The force of the movement was enough to offset the monster, and send him falling onto the ground. Sliding back through the grass and running into a tree, he lay with injuries scattered across his body. Gripping Abyssion as tightly as possible, he felt a rush of desperation overtake him. However, he was completely stunned by the attack, and lay defenseless with only his helmet acting as protection.
"RAAAAAAAYUUUUGH!"
His scream of pain and anger echoed through the vacant forest; birds scattered from their trees in flocks, escaping the sound with weary hesitation.

I just charged at a monster. I just charged at a monster. Alistair took a short moment to catch his breath and gather his thoughts. He wiped some sweat from his brow before slowly approaching the monster. He kept his sword at the ready, and stepped forward with caution. When he was about five feet away, he raised his sword at the beast.
"This is for your crime against humanity." He jumped towards the monster, aiming his blade at its heart. All in all, it made Alistair a little uneasy to try and end it like this. Stabbing at a downed opponent wasn't exactly ethical, but he couldn't let this continue much further.
