APPEARANCE,Vaan is of reasonable height, standing at 6' even, and has an average to below-average build. He is not very physically strong, but has mental strength to make up for it. He has soft facial features that are reminiscent of a kind child, though he is beyond his childhood years. He has light blonde hair and deep, green eyes. His smile is warming and soft, and is frequently seen.
Vaan wears a short-sleeved orange and yellow jacket, a detailed green neckerchief over a black shirt, and black gloves with white palms. He wears deep green pants, a black storage pack hanging from a black belt over his left leg, and boots. (taken from here, just so I don't get nailed for plagiarism.)
WEAPONS,Being a Magic Tank, Vaan carries no weapon, and instead relies on his magic arts to keep him alive in battle. He draws upon his magical power by sheer force of will alone, and does not carry a tome, staff, or anything similar.
ITEMS,
- Bedlam charm - A charm that, when Vaan uses its power in coalition with his own magical potency, allows him to summon his most powerful weapon, Bedlam.
ABILITIES,
- Bedlam (====) Level One - Vaan can call upon a Summoning that he has learned to call Bedlam. This massive, metal-coated entity can do one of two things: 1) it can deal Heavy damage in one attack, then it will disappear, or 2) it can block any physical or magical attack one time (no damage is taken regardless of the strength of the attack), then it will disappear. If Bedlam does not do either one of these actions, he can remain active for three posts. Has a cooldown of three posts.
- Earthshatter (====) Level One - By focusing his power into the earth, Vaan can bring up huge masses of rock and ground up all around him up to 150 feet high in a 30 foot radius. This can be used as an attack (heavy) or as a defensive shield; however, the problem with this is that it can only be used once per thread, and after being used, Vaan in incapacitated for two posts. The ability is instantaneous, and therefore lasts for the one post it is used in. The shield eliminates any damage that would be done to Vaan.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
- Magical Guardian (====) Max Level - All magical damage the Hylian receives is lowered (decreased by a half-level), and they gain access to a Magic Block, which mimics the regular block save that it blocks magical damage instead of physical. While using Magic Block, all damage received that turn is treated as magical damage.
HISTORY,
Vaan was raised in a family of kind merchants who traveled Hyrule selling goods and sometimes weapons. They made an honest living on merchant trade, and they also got to see much of Hyrule. When his parents decided to settle down, they had Vaan, who remarkably looked nothing like either of his parents. He didn't look like any of his ancestors, either, which raised questions about his genetics that have yet to be answered.
When he was young, Vaan was taught by his parents everything that he knows now. He was taught academics as well as how to be a proper gentleman, and he was taught the ways of chivalry, and they quickly became important to him, even from a young age. He was admired as a child by the land of Hyrule, or more specifically, by those who knew him, as the typical "good kid" that people enjoyed spending time around.
As he grew, his mind did as well, and Vaan very quickly became a philosophical beacon of knowledge and a kind and quiet listener. He was a charming young man, and often won the hearts of many he attempted to court, though he never chose to settle down and take one as a relationship. His chivalrous ways won the hearts of more than just girls his age, however, and Vaan became a respectable young man in the eyes of the elderly, and especially in the eyes of younger children.
Vaan has spent his past few years with children, teaching them like his parents taught him, and his work has been rewarded. He has become a teacher to the younger generation, and greatly appreciates his work. His family left to travel Hyrule as merchants again once Vaan was old enough to hold his own, and one of Vaan's goals is to run into them again.
