It's been a while since she last got the chance to practice. Aya felt out of shape, and it was high time for her to brush up on her 'mad' fire bending skills. She found an open area carefully situated near Eldin Spring just in case of a fire hazard may break out from her practice, but she appeared rather confident that nothing would go wrong so long as she knew what she was doing. There were four wooden dummies out and formed a square boxing the redhead in.
With a snap of her fingers, she ignited a spark in her hands, a flame no bigger than the size of a candle. That didn't stay like that for very long as the flame began to grow and expand. Soon enough the flames took shape, and turned into a fiery sphere no bigger than the size of a basketball. Her first target laid right in front of her, and drawing her hand back, the sphere following behind, she dashed the fireball straight at the first wooden dummy. Aya watched with satisfaction as it began to light up into a burst of flames, burning down a successful hit.
"One down. Three to go," she chimed. She got so carried away that the fire turned out to be a great distraction. She's always loved the concept of pyromancy, and after learning a few spells here and there, it didn't take long before the redhead wanted to become a fire master. Yeah, Aya was the type of girl while growing up played with matches despite what her parents told her otherwise. Pyromaniacs start out young, right? Practice made perfect, right? Conjuring up another fireball, she attempted to expand it out like a rope of sorts.
Didn't work out the way she intended.
A small explosion occurred blackening her face entirely. Aya coughed slightly finding herself plopped onto the ground from her mistake. She blinked a couple of times before laughing it off trying to figure out where she went wrong, and try again.

Seraphina shook her head but once as she watched the Fairy blow herself up. A smile crossed her face, thanking the Goddesses that she had decided to take a wander out here. Visit some of her charges out in this more secluded area. Naturally, they were completely fine, and stunned at the appearance of someone decked out in garb that was completely at odds with the surroundings. Stood by the spring, she had watched the Fairy nail the first target, but now stepped forward. Fire was her thing after all.
[red]You're forcing it too much. You have to let it flow out. Force fire to do anything without first showing it who's boss is just asking for a premature facial, and not the skin cleansing kind. The takes-ages-to-wash-off kind.[/red]
To punctuate her point, she opened her palm, fire dancing within it for a moment, before casting her arm up, the flames leaping from her hand, taking the form of a phoenix, as it swirled and grew, swooping around her, before perching upon her outstretched arm. Seraphina smiled, before gesturing for the Fairy to try again.
[red]Try it and see. Feel your way through it, persuade it, don't try to force it, not yet at any rate, that comes later. Let the fire do the work, you just guide it.[/red]
The fiery apparition upon her arm cawed, a crackling hoarse utterance, not at all like a bird, but like an inferno, seemingly in approval of what Seraphina was saying. She opened her hand again, and the bird swirled back into the form of a blazing ball of raw flame, before she clenched a fist, squelching the fire from existence once more, smiling encouragingly at the Fairy.
[red]Seraphina by the way. And you are?[/red]

"Whoa..." was all that came out of her mouth when Seraphina detained her attention. Just being in her presence alone made Aya feel like a candle amidst an inferno with what aura that emanated from the Champion. The fire fairy was quite entranced with this woman's arrival that she nearly lost track of what she was explaining. Her firelight orbs for eyes flickered brightly taking in the lecture of sorts of what she was being told. Her eyebrows quirked up realizing instantly that...
It was too good to be true. Mighty Goddess of Power! Din must have smiled down upon the fairy, because she was quickly convinced that a fire master had looked her way! She was so excited that she nearly forgot to acknowledge her kind words, pointing out the flaws in her technique, and in return helping her learn from her errors. However words were cheap apparently, and Seraphina didn't hesitate to help give a proper visual for the fairy to understand the concept behind bending something as vivacious as fire to her will.
"Wow! That's incredible," she squealed like an avid fangirl. Crimson red eyes burning passionately transfixed upon the phoenix perched gracefully upon the woman's arm. It was beautiful beyond description could allow. Words could not do justice to how much admiration she held for such strength, and power. Aya was quite quick to begin idolizing the Blazing Champion. To any normal person who saw this would think what a bunch of pyromaniacs, but to the scarlet haired fairy, it mattered not. Fire was powerful element to hold. She blinked owlishly when she was told to try for herself~
Holding out her hand she conjured up a fireball floating within the palm of her hand. Closing her eyes Aya took a deep breath before feeling every sense tingle with vitality moving from her core straight into the palm of her hands. The energy flowing into one single direction was quickly absorbed into the fiery sphere and it grew in size. By the time it reached the size of a hand held sphere it began to stretch, and thin out. It began to appear more like a rope much to Aya's delight.
"That's so cool!" she cried out. She lost all concentration in that moment, and her efforts quickly went up in smoke. Literally.
A small dust of blush stained her cheeks as she flashed a sheepish grin. Scratching the back of her head, she quickly caught a name, and instantly began pointing fingers. "No way! You're Seraphina Herodor, right? Dear Din~" she jumped with joy, "My name's Ayameru Crossfire, Aya for short mind you, but what an honor it is to meet you!"
This would be the start of a beautiful friendship~

Seraphina watched the bubbly Fairy attempt her previous antics again. To much better success, she noted. She watched, smile radiant upon her face as she moulded first a ball of flame, before it stretched and twisted into a line. She watched expectantly, and groaned sympathetically when the fire extinguished itself in a gout of smoke. She clapped though, as it was a perfect demonstration of what she had been saying.
[red]Excellent, excellent![/red]
She smiled at the girl, who called herself Aya, before making a theatrical curtsey, grinning like a deranged cat, or, at least, how she imagined a cat would grin.
[red]I am, I am, and I'm glad that you don't immediately curse my name! A pleasure Aya. Crossfire, a good name for you, as you seem to have a knack for controlling fire. Most budding pyromancers simply cause forest fires and hurt people. A shame really, gives people like us a bad name.[/red]
She winked at Aya, knowing full well that she was precisely that type. Her discovery of her talents had razed her fathers crop to the ground, luckily, after the harvest. Turned out to be a bumper crop the next year, due in part to the magically enriched ash that had littered the ground. Didn't stop her father's scolding. She smirked at the memory, noting that she owed him a visit soon, a promise made in her last letter to him. It would be good to see him, and mother again.
[red]No, the honour is mine entirely. Fire wielders should stick together right? Now, next bit of advice, you have to show fire who's boss. I know, sounds weird right? Since it is fire after all. But fire is rebellious, it wants to simply burn everything. You have to make it obey you. Start with simply making a fire grow and shrink in your hand, using only thought. Hold the command in your head, let it flow through you, and take form in the fire, but not too much, you have to keep it under control remember.[/red]
She smiled encouragingly at Aya. She wished she'd had a mentor when she was first starting. But then, perhaps it was better. She never responded very well to being told what to do.

Even though it didn't work out 100% the second time she made an attempt Aya was quite happy with the results. In a way, it was a direction, and we all liked having the right direction to follow, right? Right~ She had Seraphina to thank for the helpful insight. Her aspirations went up to the roof with a new passion burning inside of her wanting to learn more. The fire fairy began rubbing her face with the sleeve of her shirt trying to clean up her face to look at least semi-presentable towards the woman.
Aya beamed hearing such praise. She was actually surprise anybody would curse Seraphina's name. "Are you kidding me? Who in their right mind would think to curse your name? You deserve just as much respect as any other fine ruler." The fire fairy couldn't help but grin when Seraphina winked at her. Oh~ She felt as if she had found someone she could look up to after so many long years of living alone with her love for fire.
Ayameru never really looked up to her elder siblings only because they were so much into themselves that they didn't give Aya the time of day to look at the unique traits she had about her. Such actions lead the poor girl to be just as rebellious as fire itself - burning bright until it finally gotten everyone's attention that she was doing something not many fairies dared to even try. She quickly dismissed her errant thoughts of home.
Her grin only widened to a smile. This would have to be her second time meeting a leader, but she couldn't help but notice the casualness Seraphina adorned. While she knew it in the back of her mind that each leader was different for each race, she couldn't help but notice that fact accented further when she interacted with them. Ryst was quite a formal young man, but knew when to be playful when the time called for it.
Quirking an eyebrow up, she couldn't help but find herself actually interested in how the woman explained how to manipulate fire. Her teachings were right on the mark describing the very meaning of fire as if it were a adolescent. Rebellious by nature, but it was warm, and bright.
Like the sun that held it's head up high in the sky illuminating everything, and anything around it. Her fairy wings fluttered feeling her body tingle all over with excitement. For the first time, she felt as if she found someone who actually understood her, who didn't frown upon her love for wanting to have control over one of the most powerful elements in existence. "Pyromaniacs for the win," she exclaimed proudly, "You make it sound like pyromancy is basically using reverse psychology on a rebellious teenager."

Seraphina had to laugh, even if just a little. If only more people would think like this delightfully energetic young Fairy. Apparently, being vibrant, passionate and driven were not traits becoming of a leader. At least, not according to SOME people. Her hair blazed, as always, at the thought of that one individual, his scathingly bored voice ripping through her thoughts, mocking her even now. She shut it out, before smiling at Aya.
[redI can think of a few. Most of them arrogant. Scratch that, all of them.[/red]
She laughed again, a warm, melodious laugh, that seemed to make her skin glow. She looked at Aya again, still smiling, watching her for a moment, before smirking at her comment. Fire, a rebellious teenager? Surely not! She giggled slightly, before winking again.
[red]Or an emotional boyfriend! All three require three things. A guiding hand, encouragement in the right direction, and a good slap on the wrist when they do something wrong.[/red]
She burst into another round of giggles, before sighing the last mirthful utterance out. One advantage of technology. It didn't rebel. It did what you told it. You just had to tell it the right thing to do, and it would do it perfectly. Just happened that if you told it the wrong thing, it would do that just as perfectly.
[red]So, yeah, a good slap on the wrist when it misbehaves Aya. It just takes some practice, knowing when to slap it, when to encourage it, and when to guide it. It's more of an artform than an exact science. There are no 'right' ways of doing it, there are only wrong ways. So don't be afraid to branch out. Now, lets see this fire. Make it as big as you like. Don't worry, I can keep the tantrum it occasionally throws under wraps.[/red]
She smirked, and gestured encouragingly for Aya to continue, her smile still radiant as ever.
[red]How long have you been practicing exactly?[/red]

Seraphina was knowledgeable as she was awesome! How could you get any better than that?! Aya had to restrain herself from sqweeing like an avid fan girl raising her admiration levels to new degrees~ Yeah, she was a little one the insane side when it came to things she loved best. There was never anything wrong with being passionate about what you love, and display it proudly, and brightly for the world to see. The human champion carried with her a radiant glow that Aya wished she could have - if only just a fraction of it.
It only brought further respect for the fire master as well~ The red haired fairy felt like an infant in comparison. Nonetheless like an infant grows so would the fired up redhead! What made it even better was the fact that Seraphina could explain it so eloquently yet so simply to the point where Ayameru could grasp the concept. She certainly liked the idea of having no right answers, and that any way was find to go about it.
So with that in mind, she tried her hand at magic again starting out small before raising the flames up. Little by little it expanded bigger until she felt it was perfect to 'stretch it out' as she steadied her breathing pattern. A smile formed across her lips as her firelight eyes turned back over to Seraphina. "I started my practice around... thirteen - fourteen of age? Somewhere around that time frame~" she explained. She clenched her hand into a fist as if she was holding one end of a rope, and allowed the flame to curl upwards then bent down into a whip-like shape. It wasn't even hot to her hands!
"It wasn't up until recently that I've been able to practice it out in the open," she admitted honestly, "As a fairy, magic outside of white magic was frowned upon so I'm sure you know how that goes." She tried cracking the whip in thin air, but as soon as the whip cracked sparks licked her hand, and she lost control once more, and her work went up in smoke. Again.
Almost!
