They were close.
The Gerudos who were hunting Animus were closing in quickly. Luckily for the Hylian he was a skilled free funner and there were plenty of objects he could use to help him escape the purist. Animus crouched behind a small wooden store stall, breathing heavily. It wasn't everyday he had to outrun and out maneuver Gerudos on horseback. Usually, they would pursue him on foot which was a breeze for Animus because he was a much more skilled free runner than they were, even given the fact they were thieves.
The Hylian just had to make it in the vicinity of Hyrule Castle and he would be safe from the hunters. Continuing to crouch behind the stall, Animus noticed that the horseback riding Gerudos began to look else where, away from his location. Being they were located in a very small village, he found the exit quite hastily. As soon as he had a clear shot, he took it. Bolting out from behind the stall Animus ran with great agility toward the exit.
However, the Geruods weren’t as dumb as he thought. They had two members sitting at the exit waiting for Animus. Seeing this, the Hylian had a quick change of plan. The pursuit was now back in full force as all of the members of the Gerudos tribe raced after the Hylian. Since Plan A was a failure it was now on to Plan B, Animus ran toward a small bench and vaulted over it. He continued on toward a small table and leaped onto it, running across the surface he executed a perfect front flip once he got to the edge. Landing on one knee the Hylian looked around for his next path.

His eyes fixated on a small hut and he made that his next destination. The Gerudos were hard to escape as they were not far behind the fleeing Hylian. Reaching the small hut, he yanked the front door open and scrambled inside. Quickly looking around from left to right, he noticed a back door and took off toward it. The pursuing thieves were only trailing a few foot steps. Once Animus reached the back of the hut he located a pretty large wheel barrel filled with straw. The Hylian jumped into it hope it would give him some cover and time to catch his breath. As the Gerudos entered the back area as well, they were clueless. They split up and each group went an opposite way to look for Animus. The black haired Hylian peered out of the straw, he could see the exit from there and also saw one Gerudo still on his horse. To his liking, the theif was facing the opposite direction, with that, Animus erupted out of the straw barrel and jolted toward the unsuspecting Gerudo.
It was a straight shot toward freedom. As Animus reached his target he placed one foot on the fence and catapulted him self into the air. Noticing too late, the Gerudo turned his head to only to be met by a fierce kick to the face. As the thief fell off the horse and onto the ground below, the Hylian landed on the horse. Perfect. Of course the other Geruods noticed this mishap and resumed chasing Animus. However, they had gotten off their horses so this gave Animus plenty of time to get a head start toward Hyrule Castle. The Hylian bucked the horse and it began to trot, but this wasn’t good enough so with a quick verbal noise accompanied by another buck, the horse took off into full sprint out of the small village. Darting out into the open field of Hyrule, Animus was almost home free.

Suddenly, something whizzed past the Hylian dome. He looked back and was surprised to see the pursuers shooting arrows at him. Animus couldn’t let this mess up his determination, looking back toward the front he began to see Hyrule Castle in the distance. He was almost home. Bucking again, the Hylian hoped to increase the speed of his new acquired horse, well, for now it was his. Beginning to think everything was going as planned the horse abruptly jolted and let out a neigh of pain. Looking back Animus saw an arrow lodged in the lower thigh of the horse. The Hylian couldn’t remove it fully or he would lose his balance and fall of the horse, so he reached down and broke most of the arrow leaving only a small portion in the horse. Noticing the horse was still running strong, this boosted Animus's confidence, for now anyways.
A few more arrows whizzed past the Hylian and hit the ground in front of him. For thieves they weren’t very skilled with a bow, this made Animus smirk. Without warning, the horse once again let out a neigh but this time with much more pain. The horse was impaled by two more arrows, one in the back left leg and the other in right back leg. The horses entire back body just collapsed causing Animus to take drastic actions. As the horse collapsed the Hylian placed his feet on the spine of the hose, much like he was surfing, and at the right moment he leapt. Throwing his body into the air, he adjusted so that he would land with perfection. As soon as his feet hit the ground he placed his hands to the left of his body and used he right shoulder to roll so that he wouldn’t be injured upon contact with the ground.

Looking behind him, the Gerudos had maneuvered around the fallen horse and were now coming straight for the Hylian. Fixating his eyes in front of him he saw that the castle was only about twenty five yards ahead. Animus raced for the entrance of the castle, it was so close! He could already sense his freedom before even getting into the actual castle premises. Suddenly his feeling was shattered as his right shoulder was jerked forward due to an arrow harshly penetrating his skin.
This however, didn’t cause the Hylian to fall down, just stumble slightly before regaining his stride. Now approaching the bridge of Hyrule Castle, Animus was indeed only a few moments from freedom. The Hylians running pace now slowing due to fatigue, he began a light jog but still running as fast as his body would allow him. As soon as his foot touched down on Hyrule Castle property another arrow shot into him, this time on the opposite side of his body but through his torso instead. The pain was excruciating but at least he was finally free from the grasps of the Gerudos. The Hylian stumbled into the small area that separated the front of the castle to the castle town, he was almost to the town.

The Hylian was exhausted and wounded. This pursuit that seemed to last a lifetime had finally ended and now he could be at peace. It was time for him to do what he always wanted, and that was to become a member of the Hylian Knights. Ever since he was a young boy, this was his dreams. Helpfully he would be able to make this dream come true. His main goal was to get revenge, revenge for what had happened to his family when he was little. Animus's adrenaline was pumping throughout his entire body so at the moment, he couldn’t really feel his arrow wounds. Blood began to hemorrhage through his mouth as he spat it up onto the ground below. He kept walking onward into the town square.
