Another beautiful twilit day. One day after the other swinging back and forth in endless streams of glorious colors which mingled in between the light and darkness. There hasn't been a day that goes by that Faylla hasn't found it in her heart to be at ease. Sitting upon the ledge of a rooftop upon one of the many buildings of Dusk Town, she held her sitar at hand and played a raw melody, her calloused fingers elegantly struming the delicate strings, making the humble instrument sing.
Her sunset colored hair fell over her face as her eyes concentrated in getting lost in her moment's reprieve. She has heard it once before that if music was played loud enough it could tame even the wildest beasts in the land. Fay wasn't sure it that was true or not, but it certainly mused her while listening to the song travel throughout the atmosphere.
The lone musician cared little for the desire of company. For now, she could play away her troubles until her soul poured out inside of the sitar. It was a form of recovery from her obsession of archery, and they said music could describe feelings without even saying a single word. With a final strum of the chords upon the string, Faylla paused for a moment, lifting her eyes up at the sky, silently accepting the isolation.

Ah~ The fuss that'll stir up as soon as the attendants discover Midna managed to disappear from their surveillance. They should already know by now that it is practically impossible to hold her down in the palace for long. What good would it do her if she was cooped up in a castle all freakin' day? Even that would get boring if she had to stay inside. She could easily go off and explore the beauty that is her country.
There was nothing that could beat the sheer bliss of being free, to see with her own scarlet eyes, how far and vast her serene twilit city has become over the years. It wasn't the first time, and it certainly wouldn't be the last time. Tapping one of her fine nails against her dark lips, a mischievous grin formed upon her lips, as a small snicker escaped. Let them be fools for now before she returns to restore order~
For now, it was time to have a bit of fun!
Oh~! What is this? The faint sound of strings being strummed caught her pointed ears, and caused the Twilight Princess to stop in her tracks. Now where could that have come from? Closing her crimson optics, she tried to track it down, noticing that it was coming from up above. The rooftops? Certainly a scenic place for peace.
Curiosity her virtue, she made her way to the top with ease, taking in for a moment the beautiful twilight realm's colors. There was no doubt about it that you get a different aspect of everything when you're on higher grounds. The song became audible by the time she reached the top, and soon enough she found the source of it all.
It was none other than her adorable Faylla! A rather quiet twili, but she needn't speak for her instrument, a strange one at that too, spoke for her. Then... she stopped! D'awwww~ Why did she stop? She plays so well. From the looks of it, she didn't seem like she was expecting any bit of company to arrive either. Too bad! "Don't look at the sky with such gloomy eyes," she mocked, letting a devilish giggle out, "They might just sink to the back of your sockets."

"Hm?"
Her carmine eyes diverted their attention from the eternal twilit sky over to a familiar voice. She should've known better that her leader would find something to tease the wallflower about. Amusement danced within her eyes as she fluttered her long lashes at her Sovereign. Fay could obviously tell it was her presence within the vicinity without even looking up, but it was customary to show the highest respects to the leader. Gently putting down her instrument, she got down on her knee, and bowed her head respectfully to Midna. Her ponytail lowered to one side of her head as her bangs covered her face once again. "I see you've snuck out of the palace again, m'lady," she chuckled softly.
Her laughter was enough to change her serene mood to a rather affable appeal. She lifted her head up before returning her posture giving her leader the proper address. Just the thought of watching the Twilight Palace go into complete chaos was certainly entertaining. The Twilight Princess certainly had a hell of a sense of humor. Brushing her slender fingers through her sunset bangs, her eyes focused carefully on her sovereign. Some things never change.
Now that she's really thought about it, the only thing that truly changed was the fact Midna came into power. Other than that, nothing's changed. Day in and day out, the sky stays the same, the air they breathe was still in existent... Consistency is what held their country together all of this time. What would be the point in trying to change when it's beautiful as it is? Faylla could only pray that she'd be able to share moments like this frequently in the future. "How long do you intend to let your servants suffer, m'lady?" she joked.
Probably until someone actually decides to go look for her no doubt.

"Who knows~? Maybe an hour or two," she replied wickedly. She could trust her vassals wouldn't tear down the castle while she was gone. Midna certainly sets a fine example for her people~ Still, it was wonderful to have twili who'll understand her notions. Sometimes you had to put hard work aside and smell the fresh air, and get those stiff limbs loose. She doesn't like doing mundane obligations such as signing approvals over new taxes or building a new monument somewhere nobody was going to be looking at.
"Beautiful, is it not?" she asked Faylla, gliding to the edge, propping herself a seat to gaze out over the distance, calm and serene. Midna couldn't get enough over how the darkness bleeds into the light as if working together in perfect balance. Bathed in this beauty, all of her people, pure and gentle, having changed so much over the centuries. Ever since their ancestors were banished to this realm, their race has changed for the better, what more could they need now?
Faylla's habits were contagious, acting all calm and collected. All of this stop to enjoy to scenery nonsense made Midna want to take a nap. She didn't escape the palace in order to find a cozy place to take an afternoon nap. "Think of it as a means to getting to know my people, ne?" totally twisting the situation around was her specialty.
After all, she did want to be in touch with her people~ It has been said time after time again that a leader is only as good when it shows in her people's thoughts of her/him. It was obvious that no matter how she put it, she was still going to have her way. "Besides... I don't see you complaining of my presence," she teased.

Faylla stared at her ruler with uneasy eyes. Was she actually serious? It really was hard to tell with her unpredictable nature. Why was she not surprised? Soon enough Faylla found amusement in her ruler's sense of humor. Perhaps a bit on the dark side, but the world wasn't exactly black and white. Nothing was ever set in black and white, rather it was blended together with all kinds of shades, and hues. Gazing back at her leader, she knew without a doubt that Midna was quite a colorful character as well. The only one in full color as far as Faylla could tell. Whenever her presence is known, everyone stops and turns their attention to her, and the room is lit up with a sensation she couldn't describe with words alone.
"Indeed, milady," Fay replied following the Twilight Princess, standing within a distance, but close enough to stay by her side. Even if the guards of the palace found the sovereign here, at least they'll have some peace of mind knowing Faylla was at least with her. Protecting Midna was the higest priority wherever she went, be it outside of the palace, she would try her best to make sure she's in good hands. Her eyes fell upon the very same skies she saw earlier, still the same, if only more vivacious since she was in her ruler's presence.
She certainly knows how to make everything benefit her needs, she noted in the back of her head. The way she completely changed around running away from the castle into something more politically acceptable as being in touch with her followers. How cunning. She couldn't help but allow a soft laugh escape from her lips. A smile that was so far in few in between her duties, when she was always concentrated on upholding the laws set before her country. Faylla didn't want to admit to it openly, but she was proud to be in her position. Proud to be able to serve a wonderful ruler such as Midna - quirks, and all.
Her last comment knocked away her guard as her twilit eyes flickered back over to her princess. What did she say? A tinge of blush crawled onto her blue tinted skin as she quickly diverted her attention elsewhere. Her heart going into overtime over Midna's teasing. "I beg your pardon, but you speak nonsense, milady," she tried to brush it off, "Come now, I'll be your escort for today."
Smooth transaction. Subject changes were always perfect when it not only benefitted your company, but also for yourself. Faylla did not wish to give the princess anymore to tease her about.

That look on her face is priceless! Fay made it so easy for Midna to pick on her - it was almost sad if the sovereign should say so herself. If anything, it could be described as endearing, but it would not stop her relentless teasing on the poor girl. She didn't understand how one could withdraw themselves within a world with a lack of color.
Sure, the twilight realm wasn't multicolored, but it still held enough color to distinguish the tranquility she could not get enough of. Not too dark, but not too bright either. A perfect circle of everlasting beauty that only her people, and she could truly appreciate.
Midna's crimson eyes flickered with amusement. She blushed so easily to the smallest hint of flirting! How adorable! Look at her, trying act all refined, and poised. She could only imagine the nerves she must've toyed with by saying such daring words. "Escort?" she mused, "Well, how very kind of you, my little Faylla."
Lifting herself up from her perch, she took a few steps closer, destroying what space there was between the two of them. Her scarlet orbs peering into Faylla's in a sensual manner, her slim hand raised up, and brushing through her twili's beautiful hair. Oh~ She couldn't wait to see the expression that would blow up on her face. "Don't keep me waiting," she half-teased, half-commanded.
With help of her telekinesis, she lifted herself up off of the ground, and hovered off the edge of building. As she separated herself from her escort for the day, she lowered herself down, expecting Faylla to follow behind. There was so much to do, and the day was still young~ Mischief to create, and over all enjoying the freedom for the moment. Everything could change in the blink of an eye, so now would be the perfect time to enjoy the leisure whilst she could.

Midna was certainly a cruel woman at best. The way she found way to break away her guard and mock her so, but she could only take it light heartedly. Still, her princess would not see the underlining emotions bursting within the barriers that laid deep within her heart buried within her chest. How she covered so quietly the tugged heartstrings that were pulled so mercilessly by the sovereign's hands. It was painful but at the same time it brought Faylla bliss. She was truly a sad creature, but faithful to a fault. Faylla swore an oath to protect her leader until she was released from service or should death take hold of her.
Faylla prayed that nothing changed. Nothing would break this glorious moment shared today with her leader. It was the only thing that kept her heart from bursting into a million pieces. She would not want blood to stain the ground so unruly from the ache that revealed within her slim frame. She would be content in tending to whatever Midna wanted, and quesitoned nothing of her motives.
Her breath hitched within her throat as soon as she found the space between her and Midna has been broken. Her heart palpiated into overtime as she felt soft hands brush through her sunset yellow hair. The blush dusted upon her cheeks intesified by times ten. What a cruel woman, she fathomed. She took in a deep breath to calm her agonizing frame, tempted to fall from growing weak in her sorry state. Though Midna gave mercy, and broke away and started moving off from the Twilit Balcony, and to the depths of the streets, where they would venture off elsewhere.
Without a second though, Faylla blindly followed her leader, jumping off the ledge of the balcony. Darkness devoured her blue-tined frame as she fell down to the depths following without a hint of a thought left in her as she journeyed down to follow wherever the Twilight Princess goes.
